Let's be honest here, Ghost in the Shell is actually quite boring.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
sometimes it gets pretentious with its LOL CYBERSPACE DEEP stuff
but it's entertaining overall
>Let's be honest here, Ghost in the Shell is actually quite boring.
>Let's be honest here
Actually, I agree with you OP.
I never liked postapocalyptic anime though.
I didn't like the soul and self blabbing either, I just fapped to the scene where Motoko is built
Ghost in the Shell: 'Philosophy for the uneducated'.
Let's be honest here, Naruto is actually the best anime ever.
only for people with ADD
the ghost in the shell movies were boring outside of the climaxs
SAC was great
I thought it dragged a bit in parts, yes. But that doesn't mean it wasn't deep. It revolutionised the anime industry.
My 12 year old nephew agrees with you.
What's the matter? Too BORING for you?
I agree, but I was too scared to say anything. I just wanted to fit in. Maybe there are more of us out there.
what do you mean by revolutionized?
What other anime did it influence?
still havnt finished it yet.. it is somewhat boring but i heard theres actually an overall story in the anime not just random missions.
Gurren Lagann, the greatest masterpiece of our time, was partly inspired by Ghost in the Shell.
for example innocence and sac, for example?
In during pancake crystal elderly
what part of gl takes from gits?
Or you mean Nakashima watched gits and said "Here be Kamina!"
Are you a goddamn retard?
some of the shit discussed in Ghost are the topics of most the mandatory phil courses in colleges
so if its too boring/complexed i've got some bad news for you
Seconded. I need to hear this one.
I can kind of see where the idea is coming from, but I don't see the evidence to support it beyond "Think about it! It kind of makes sense!"
erm, I think that half of us are talking about the movie and half about SAC. the movie was fucking amazing. SAC wasn't deep but it was much smarter than most.
I beg you pardon?
It perplexes me that people think Gurren Lagann was inspired by anything other than super robots and merchandise sales.
He probbaly said it too fast for you.
what he meant was god damn retard.
I only care about the Tachikomas.
I've been watching anime for a while now and I have yet to see an anime dealing with deep thoughts without banalizing them
Hey, OP here.
I haven't even watched it, I just thought I'd say it was boring and see what people said.
Yeah, you would just need to watch any Nagaian robo anime to understand where 70-80% of gl comes from
ITT: 11 year olds on sugar can't watch anything that doesn't have big tits exploding every 23 seconds.
Have you seen Lucky Star? Uses food as complex metaphors for the problems facing our society in the modern age of enlightenment.
It's all good to talk about whether ghost in the shell is good or not, but I was just wondering: does Motoko poop?
If only the anime series was done with equal quality with the movies.
Douchebag. GL did try to desperatedly refer to such great artist as Enki Bilal like Gits and even EVA had done in the past. But basically even the references in it are poorly done ripoff.
Please tell me some feature of gits which has influenced anime.
Even saying you read it in your local anime club fanzine is fine.
Less questioning of this influence nonsense and more explanation of this pancake crystal elderly phenom.
I read it in my local anime club fanzine.
The Matrix was inspired by GitS, and that's a pretty damn famous movie, if not anime.
>if not anime.
ITT: 17 year olds pretend to be inteligent because they watched DEEP ANIME about problems that get covered in comunity college phil 101.
You've got my attention.
Anyway, I'd say to check the manga out. There's lots more exposition before the Puppet Master crap, which leaves plenty more time to get acquainted with Section 9's staff, and there's even some brief fanservice (in color, no less!) thrown in. I'd say it's a better read than it is a... viewing?
That said, stay the hell away from Ghost in the Shell 2. It's like they made a manga entirely out of the boring philosophical bullshit from the movie.
LOL bitches don't know about my Neuromancer.
ITT: faggot butt hurts who never finished high school
All it really was was a well-timed Cyberpunk cartoon. It got animu on a lot of mainstream radars in the west.
That's about it.
SAC was fairly good.
The Oshii movies (Gits and Innocence) were musterpieces.
wow at trolls taking shots at GITS
ITT 20+ year-olds appreciating a movie for its amazing visual design, and the way it presents its ideas in a manner that's consistent and easy to grasp.
Okay. So no one is doing that, but you should be!
exactly what I thought
ITT: doughnut punchers
Guess I'll come out also, I really just turned off my brain and watch GiS movie for the animations, and used GiS tv series to go to sleep on
The original GITS movie hasn't aged well, and Innocence was bad from the beginning.
Standalone Complex however, is a pretty great series.
>Innocence was bad from the beginning
Might I recomend Naruto? I believe you will like it.
Let's be honest here, This troll is actually quite boring.
>The original GITS movie hasn't aged well
lets be honest here..
You'd honestly try to argue that is has?
GITS 1 suffers from the same kind of thing as Akira - the thing which made it so famous is that it was new and unique at the time it struck it big. Now that many years have passed and the concepts and styling seen in it are more common it doesn't hold up nearly as well because the substance under the surface isn't as strong.
Also, the movie character designs are fucking ugly.
>>10194628 Might I recomend Naruto? I believe you will like it.
You could recommend something that isn't shallow as hell but pretends to have depth by assaulting the viewer with quotation after quotation in a manner completely out of character for the characters doing it, for one thing.
What's the matter? Too DEEP for you?
i fucking knew it...
why am i not surprised that you're mentioning akira too?
anyways,i would agree with your opinion only if you can name at least TWO newer movies/series utilizing the same concept as GitS,because i honestly don't think that the original movie has lost its uniqueness.
as for the designs - its up to the individual's personal taste, its pointless to argue about it.
