Show us your hipster level /a/.
What popular shows do you dislike/hate?
Pic related. It was just so inane. People only pretend to like this as part of some elaborate troll attempt right?
>People only pretend to like this as part of some elaborate troll attempt right?
I thought people only pretend to dislike K-On as part of some elaborate troll.
It's actually a really deep show with stupid fun sprinkled in.
I can at least understand why people like K-On, but then again I can understand why people like My Little Pony too so I'm not one to talk.
A terrible piece of shit that I can't understand why everyone is obsessed with. Usually I try to avoid being a hipster but in this I cannot. It was crap.
Space Dandy. I'm going to give it another try, but it just wasn't for me.
I would have said Texhnolyze before it finished. I must say, I sincerely regret not investing in it while watching until like the thirteenth episode.
I am the hipsterest one of all. I don't hate any show.
Kill La Kill and most shounen not made by Bones.
Boku no Pico, mainly because it was so hyped. Pico x Coco x Chico was excellent, though.
I'm so edgy I like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece.
Yu Yu Hakushou, DBZ, Gurren Lagann, Darker than Black, Anohana (if that qualifies as popular).
Honestly, FLCL is my least favorite anime. After watching it, i thought "Why the hell did I spend over an hour of my life watching THIS." For shit's sake, even fucking GENOCYBER is better than that.
I'm so hipster I think most of the hipster shit on /a/ is incredibly overrated. Aria, Lain, Haibane, Texhnolyze, KnT, Mushishi, SSY. All of them were boring, and a few of them try to be 2deep4u but say nothing meaningful in the end.
I'm so hipster I haven't even watched any of those
>I'm so new
I'm so hipster I actually like Guilty Crown unironically.
That's post edgy. I salute you.
I'm so hipster, I form my own opinions about each anime I watch and don't jump on bandwagons to like/hate an anime.
Give it a rest.
You're not a hipster, you're a retard.
>getting butthurt in an unpopular opinions thread
This has nothing to do with bandwagons. A show can be popular and you can like or dislike it without joining a bandwagon.
I hope you're serious, anon, because so do I.
I'm serious. It was the second show I ever watched, which means that I had no idea it crammed in so many cliches. But I can't bring myself to retroactively dislike it just because of that.
I'm not completely sold on it myself, but I'd say it's gotten better, episodes 1 and 3 especially were pretty awful. 4 and 5 were pretty good (though episode 4 dragged an originally funny joke on for about the entire second half, got a little tired of it by the end), 6 was... okay.
I'm so hipster I... fuck you, missed off Azusa again.
Perfectly legitimate answer as far as I'm concerned. Which was your first show? I'm secretly ashamed of my introduction to anime, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. It was Love Hina.
Didn't we all start with some crap and thought it's the best thing ever?
Death Note here
Same here. It's still one of my favorites though.
Haruhi and K-On!. The combo made me avoid Kyoto Animation for four years. I didn't watch Nichijou until last Summer and only watched Free! for that ridiculous ED. It makes me laugh every fucking time.
Not even a troll post either
Aw, but that's a great show to start your love of anime with. You should not feel ashamed no matter what the rest of /a/ will tell you.
First show was Code Geass. I watched Guilty Crown because I saw some reviews say they were similar.
My third anime was Death Note which I really hated. Interesting story, awful execution.
First show I watched that I knew was anime: VanDread
First show I watched that ended up being anime: Sailor Moon
I loved it back then and still consider it a good show, don't get me wrong.
But as time passes by you begin to see the flaws
So hipster I dropped Madoka after 1 episode. I should really suck it up and power through it. I don't even think I can call myself a fan of anime at this point.
I genuinely like Fairy Tail.
Just watch the movies instead.
I saw Kemonozume.
I'm so hipster I hate shows that haven't even aired.
>Just watch the shitty alternate universe instead
I was hating Kill la Kill but then I decided to give it another chance and started liking it on episode 3.
I think EVA is pretty crap. Haven't seen the movies but can't bring myself to watch them after the series.
2deep4me, maybe, but there's also an onus on the artist to make sure that their vision can be understood by others. "You just don't get it," is only a defense if there's something substantial to be understood in the first place.
Between a repulsive main character and a clusterfuck ending, it was pretty boring and insubstantial.
have you watched EoE? EVA's message isn't even a deep one, it's basically "if you wish to interact with others prepare to get hurt, also look out for yourself because nobody else has your back"
If I've heard of it offline, it's shit.
Rosario Vampire is shit.
Soul Eater is shit.
Haruhi Suzumiya is shit.
I hate Kill la Kill, Swort Art Online , Shingeki no Kyojin, Bleach, One Piece... because the fandom is a fucking cancer and are so hyped! maybe someday when i had nothing to watch... i will give it a chance,
Nope. Originally I intended to watch EoE when I found out that they basically fucked themselves on the ending of the show, but then I immediately lost interest when I realised I'd have to sit through more EVA.
Just watch it and avoid the threads.
That's what I do.
damn... that's what i do to naruto threads!
I wouldn't say that necessarily. More like people who hate it should have given up long ago but don't and look silly for it, to the point it looks like they're trolling.
Let me buy you a drink.
I dropped Full metal panic.
I watched Escaflowne at the age of 8, in my classroom.
Bro teacher said he'd reward us each friday night, at the last period, if we were good.
Needless to say, I go into anime on a very high level of greatness.
I don't think there could have been a better introduction to the medium for me.
I hate toradora because one of my friends irl talks about it all the time
Tell him he has shit taste and the anime is shit.
I do. He thinks I'm joking every time.
Okay, tell him that the anime has shit characters, all of which are poorly developed and the time we are shown character growth, it only last an episode or so and doesn't contribute anything.
If he asks for example, mention Taiga's father being a reason for her being tsun and then mention how her situation with her dad is never brought anywhere.
And then tell him he's shit.
