Takahata's pretty artsy. The film may not look it from stills, but there's a lot of motion going on.

>5 Centimeters Per Second (2007) | 27,000,000

Damn I could commision a movie from Shinkai.
And make Takamichi do the story and character design.
>>
>Astroboy (2009) | 5,000,000,000
Isn't that american?

Inflation didn't stop until the mid '90s
>>
>>101921973
>>
>>101921941

it's funny since that's the best looking film on there (in terms of art, not fluid animation)
>>
>>101922605

No need for superb animation in a SOL, background porn is enough.
>>
>The Frogman Show

has anyone seen this shit? i've seen it mentioned somewhere before but there's barely any english information available
>>
>>101922605
It's stills and filters, just as in every Shinkai work. Neither are costly, but neither have screen presence.
>>
>Madoka Magica Rebellion (2013) | 700,000,000
So, 40% of SHAFT's animation budget since Shinbo joined.
>>
>>101923344
That's entirely Aniplex's money, they don't even work only with SHAFT for the Madoka's movies.
>>
>>101924380
Actually it's unheard of for one studio alone to do all of the work in making a movie, or even a TV anime. Watch the credits some time, you will always see some other studio's name at least once and for a big budget movie seeing a dozen wouldn't be unusual
