So I read Punpun and loved it.
Currently finishing Solanin and will read his/her other works.
I know there is a general consensus on recommendation but I would like to ask specificely for other works/mangaka like Asano? Anything that left you broken?
I'm really starting to appreciate the realistic works out there.
I don't want to start another Punpun thread, but I would really like to get some other works that I wouldn't be able to find otherwise or that would take a great amount of time finding.
Any author at all?
Just read some actual books.
Implying you can read punpun in book form?
why are you even on here?
I've finished Punpun today.
I enjoyed reading it mostly because of the humor but I think the point of the story actually went over my head.
What exactly was the point of it?
>why are you even on here?
A better question would be why you are on here, making shitty recommendation threads.
Fine it's now a general punpun and manga thread.
Who the fuck even cares.
Continue being a giant faggot
Thanks, you too.
I love you anon, wherever and whoever you are.
Now let's continue being autistic faggots arguing over the internet.
Than you could at least say what you liked about Punpun besides it being realistic. Recommendations would be easier than.
And than you could explain me the point of Punpun at the same time.
You could try out Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. In the first half of it the main character is very similar to Punpun.
how is asking for a similar author/work like Asano not specific enough? I don't think there's thousands of manga with this style or subjects.
Kokou no Hito. It's not that similar, but has some of the darkness and realism that we see in Punpun. The main character is also introverted, there is also some narrative and visual inovations, but thematically, it goes a different way. It's still a great manga, though. If that convinced you, stick at least until volume three. The first two are kinda weak and non-representative of the series
God you are fucking retarded.
Stop posting on /a/ for atleast 5 months.
aku no hana
Aku no Hana. It's not as dark or in-depth/mature as Punpun but might as well try it
Seriously? Not OP, and I don't read a lot of manga but I assumed that there were at least three or four more authors doing something similar too Asano Inio. Is this stuff so 'rare'?
Seriously? You still don't know which aspect of Punpun you liked? Just specify what you are looking for.
Especially if you're an ugly person, like me. After reading it, I think I understood myself a little better.
I. Am. Not. OP. I am a lurker surpised by the lack of 'realist adult' manga.
There's plenty, finding them is another matter, especially ones that are fully translated.
