How many of you /a/ denizens are colleges dropouts?
How's life like as an undergraduate?
>>
I'm in university, and life sucks shit.
>>
ANOTHER ONE OF THESE?
>>
i can't really be a drop out since i only went for about two or 3 months.

it was a horrible idea that set me back years.
>>
>>10189264
This. Although it's my fault because I'm too lazy to get a job or girlfriend or study.

...or watch anime or play the vidja. I just troll/surf 4chan all day.

Damn, I need to not fail this class.
>>
what about high school dropouts?
>>
highschool drop out here
>>
college is a waste of motherfucking time and money unless you want to be a professor or get masters/phd. Just go read books and do shit.
>>
I imagine it's a lot more fun if you're not a technical major. But most of the liberal arts majors I've met in required English classes and whatnot are either women or HUGE FAGGOTS, so at least I have friends here, I guess.
>>
>>10189323
Spoken like a true neet.

>>10189301
>>10189303
Everyone needs a janitor, garbage man, or sewer worker. You shall never be unemployed.
>>
hooray i just got accepted into university yesterday
>>
>>10189323
Went to a tech college, make just as much as my friends with university degrees. Only I never had a student loan to pay back.
>>
College Dropout here. I now work as a software engineer making a six digit income in the metro DC area.

It isn't so bad, as long as you have a decent trade skill of some kind.
>>
College is killing me.

Getting an engineering degree with scholarships. Basically a free ride since my grandparents cover the remaining cost since they are filthy rich.

Engineering is not easy. But it's worth it. I love to learn.
>>
I am, but I'm going back next semester.
>>
>>10189356
I was always under the impression you were already in a University.
>>
repeating a year in college here

studying abroad sucks
>>
Gateway ronery thread?
Also "dropped out" after a few months, although I still have my spot left on the university I attended so I can start again whenever I feel like it.
At the moment I'm looking for a job to supress my NEET powerlevel.
>>
I'm not exactly a dropout but I'm taking this semester off due personal reasons.

Currenly I'm working couple of days a week, lazing around all day, clubbing on weekends etc. Adjusting to daily routines is going to be a bitch and the school starts again.
>>
>>10189377
SEE YOU NEXT FALL.
>>
I dropped out back in my first year, did the hikkikomori thing for a while, then underemployment, now I'm back in uni.

It still sucks as much as it did when I first went. Sometimes I feel like I should drop out again and live the rest of my life off on my family's money.
>>
I actually finished college.
But now I'm living the hiki way. It's fun.
>>
Dutch Hikikomori here. My parents are loaded, so no worries for me.
>>
How did you guys decide what kind of courses to take?
>>
>>10189556
Damn... so jealous.
>>
>>10189244
Satou is my hero for recollecting 30GB of 3D loli porn.
>>
my life as a graduate just hasnt started yet.
(Dissertation due in 2 days and im on /a/)
>>
>>10189583
talk to a counselor about which direction you want to go, such as a job or sort of job area, then they will map it out for you.
>>
>>10189583
you don't decide, it just happens
>>
Currently an undergraduate computer science major.

It's really fun and terrible at the same time. The campus food is horrible, my roommate is horrible, but I get to do what I like all day most of the time. Surfing /a/ on the side and watching anime is a decent stress reliever.

Going to college is really beneficial to your life IMO compared to just winging your life as you try to do stuff. The work can be hard, but in the end, it's probably for the best.
>>
Almost dropped out of high school, got through by the skin of my teeth by pulling my finger out quick enough and mega cramming for a few months. Then I tried college, dropped out, year later tried again and dropped out lol. Fuck. I really regret that decision.

Going back this September for one last try. If I can somehow cure my crippling shyness and laziness I guess I can pull through. Either that or I'll just get a job working from home and stay in for the rest of my life, hooray.
>>
please make university NOT HAVE TO DO DISSERTATIONS
fuck this shit is stupid, who the fuck reads these long ass walls of texts we worked so damn hard on?!
>>
>>10189583
I just wrote down everything I need for a degree and then everything I want to take that I can fit into my schedule.
>>
Dropped from highschool in the last year, did some studying the next year and got into university. Once I got there I dropped out after a term.
>>
>>10189699
Well shit, i dont have access to one. Would be a good thing to have...i have no fucking idea what i want to do. I like working with computers, but i suck at programming and pretty much all the goddamn courses have substantial programming.
>>
>>10189744

I dunno, E-business maybe? lol
>>
Came right out of high school 1t 16, went to college for a term and then left. Been floating around from meaningless job to meaningless job since.

It's ok once you learn to realise that whatever you dreamed of becoming, you aren't going to make it.
>>
>>10189744
your college or university should have a bunch of of them, mine has like 5.

>>
Dropped out of High School.

G.E.D.

Dropped out of College.

Now I mkae 100k a year because I know how to program Cisco routers.

Thanks years of my youth I wasted on IRC!
>>
So how many people on /a/ are taking engineering-related courses. From what I've seen, it seems to be a lot
>>
basically if you dropped out of high school you have failed at life.
>>
>>10189807

I don't think that it's so much that there's a lot of us that we like talking about our major more.

That said I still imagine that there are a lot compared to other majors, of the people who are in college.

Not me, doing ancient history and politics.

I don't really know where the fuck I'm going after this though.
>>
>>10189817
Even if you're making a decent wage?

I don't think so, Tim.
>>
>>10189837
Academics maybe?
>>
>>10189876
Ahahahahahahahahaahahahahaha
>>
Am I the only English major on /a/?
>>
>>10189244
I am on the brink of dropping out. It's a terrible feeling, because my college is looked upon as one of the worst in my country. Even the professors criticize us in the media. It's horrible to live up to the stereotype of a typical student in my college.

And when I fail this semester, I'll lose my scholarship and loans :(
>>
>>10189888
But seriously, if you take history and the like, you either write books and become famous, or you do research until you die, unless you become a elementary/high school teacher.
>>
>>10189908

Yes.
>>
>>10189918
Well, I don't know what to say other than try your best and try not to drop-out. =(
>>
>>10189908
Why the fuck would anybody waste their lives majoring in a language?
>>
>>10189908
From what I could tell, most of the English majors hate anime at my university because it's not deep enough. Yes, I laughed at them while thinking of the dog.
>>
>>10189950
Thanks buddy. I'll do my best. :)
>>
>>10189244
Meh, It's fun. You endup doing the same exact thing either way
>>
Everyone in this thread, including me, needs to LeechBlock this place until they have sorted things out. 4chan saps away your soul I swear.
>>
>>10189761
Im not in a college or uni ATM sadly.
>>
>>10189986
I did it for a couple of days, but then I unblocked it due to lack of social life.
>>
>>10189918
I'm sure you're not failing because you're too dumb. You just need to find some kind of motivation to carry on and put effort into it. That's one of the main reasons I failed first time round, I couldn't motivate myself or even force myself to do anything. I got warned and warned 'Hey if you don't stop acting like a faggot you're gonna be kicked from the course' but it never sunk in, I just always thought it would go away if I ignored it.

Oh well, what happens happens. At least you'll know the reason why it did.
>>
how do you hikkis support yourselves? Working from home? Parents?
>>
Haha I'm going to be a doctor and get rich
>>
Knock knock knock

Hitori bocchi

Hitori bocchiiiii
>>
two years of university has led me to becoming a pirate that wanders Western US to S.E. Asia ! I really couldnt bear to take another English course. (;;°A°;;)
>>
I'm in college, not following class most of the time, hoping I'll pass by not being a retard.
>>
>>10190066

Docs are only rich on paper. ("I make 250k in IOUs per year.")
>>
>>10190093
That song hit's me right in heart. If anybody wants it I can up it on RS.
>>
>>10190110

I kno rite?

Still, I've worked my ass off to get into medical school so I'm going to savour every second of it
>>
I used to go to a college in Florida but then I got into trouble with the Feds. Now I work for a shipping company in the South Asian sea. I'm also Jewish so fuck the nazis. That's my family creed.
>>
>>10190066

underage b& so hard. No one planning to become a doctor talks like that.
>>
>>10190124
What's up Benny.
>>
>>10190125

Hurrrr because your online behaviour reflects your IRL personality amirite
>>
>>10190046
Is working from home even feasible? All ive seen is the usual scam sites that tells you to buy a product that basically involves selling the exact same product to other fools.
>>
>>10190142

That sounds like a chapter of NHK.
>>
>>10190142
Ah shit this is exactly what happened to me one time, when I was younger and even stupider. Also another reason why my life follows scarily close to that of Satou's.
>>
>>10190125
You'd be surprised. A majority of asians try to become lawyers and doctors because it's the "respectful" job and because they pay lots. Not sure about the people on this of the pacific, but the mentality is strong there.
>>
>>10190142

I make a living designing scam sites.
>>
>>10190121
And you're going to spend rest of your life double-shifting getting 5 hours of sleep and messing people's organs.
>>
>>10190121
And you're going to spend rest of your life double-shifting getting 5 hours of sleep and messing people's organs.
>>
>>10190142
Well, there ARE lots of people who telecommute to offices in places like New York while they live on the other side of the country and such (tax reasons, benefits, etc.). You just need to find a decent job that does that, but generally, working at the office over telecommuting is the preferred way of moving up the corporate ladder (aka. if the bosses don't know you, they won't promote you).
>>
>>10190181
If that is what you think doctors do all day, I am seriously sorry for you.
>>
Just went back to college this previous semester. Was a NEET for around 4 years or so, then worked for half a year just to get enough money for a new computer and TV.
>>
>>10190212

You're right. Only until their late thirties.
>>
>colleges dropouts
>How's life like

I think I found your problem.
