Why is Shingeki no Kyojin so popular?
Spidermen dual wielding fighting giant zombies
#1 reason is no moeshit
That franchise is the Walking Dead of anime.
can't get any bigger compliment than that!
My theory is personally that it caters to the same kind of people that liked Full Metal Alchemist. It's edgy in some ways but not too edgy to alienate everyone, it's packed with action but has some elements beyond the fighting making it different the the 2d characterization of battle shounen, and finally it's well animated.
It's the Walking Dead of anime.
It's basically Walking Dead
I heard that it's because it's practically The Walking Dead
Someone saying Shingeki no Kyoujin is well animated...times have changed.
Because Levi is so hot
This is actually fairly accurate.
but it is
Because it was worth watching people rage over it.
It's an Eva clone with omnipandering, over-the-top edge, WORLDBUILDING, easily self-invertible scenarios, and themes that appeal to a renewed nationalism and militarism budding in Japanese culture.
It was also just a good manga before anime-only fags shit it up forever.
But Walking Dead is bad and SNK is good.
It's popular because it's fairly "normal" for the west regarding all the lewd shit that spews out of studios these days.
I second this.
Why are the horses so terrible?
Did you actually watch the show or are you just new to anime? Most scenes weren't even animated and were just still shots.
It's not as badly animated as /a/ claimed it was but it certainly wasn't well animated.
Did you mean that it had really good ART?
Cause if you did, then I totally agree
They trip on their dicks.
>can't get any bigger compliment than that
Can someone please point out flaws with The Walking Dead now? I'm a little irritated by the implications of that statement.
Space inside walls = Japan
Titans = Western powers, pig disgusting Commodore Perry forces borders open and glorious nihon empire meant to spread across all of asia is forced to stay on their island under threat of absolute military destruction
Eren = Japanese Hitler who will reclaim lebensraum and obtain hakkou ichiu
The second season was stretched harder than One Piece.
>Can someone please point out flaws with The Walking Dead now
i like the show but fuck you anon, if you cant see the fuckton of flaws every episode shows then you might as well kill yourself because you are a waste of human resources
Dat theme song
>Dot Pixis was based on historical figure Yoshifuru Akiyama
>Mikasa Ackerman was named after the Japanese battleship Mikasa, a flagship of the Russo-Japanese War over control of Korea.
Bees and the Eagles, do you still want to?
I wish /pol/ would go home
In addition to the many reasons that have been discussed previously, western names are easier to follow. Joe Beefsteak tends to have some trouble keeping track of "Tokumaru", "Yukiko", "Chihara" etc. Eren and Jean is a lot simpler.
OP2 was better
I wish reddit AND /pol/ would go home
