>While the Japanese government has been cracking down more and more on child pornography, Unicef feels the government's efforts have come up a little short. What's more, the organization has been campaigning the government to ban child porn imagery in manga, anime and games. (Note that Microsoft and Yahoo totally support Uniceft's campaign.) According to Unicef's definition, imagery like sailor uniforms should not be permitted in adult scenes. Meaning? That Unicef is saying that even adult videos that feature over 18 actresses should not be allowed to use underage imagery like school girl outfits and whatnot. Though, people who look under 18 would not be prohibited from doing what they do. Whatever that is.

When you read that, what do you feel /a/non?

We talked about this yesterday. Nevermind the fact that pornography anywhere else has cheerleaders everywhere, it's time to pick on Japan simply because they have nothing better to do.

Pic related, Never Sleep Alone (1984), plotline involves two girls getting taken advantage of by an older couple. Child Pornography? Nope.

You'd think UNICEF would have something to say about the starving children in southest Asia, the child market in middle-east, the kids that are being slaughtered as part of a genocide campaign in Africa, or the child abuse epidemic in South America.
>>
Sadly, Japan takes the UN seriously. They've been pining for a permanent security council seat.

They know when they're useless, so they'll go pick on weaker people.

Those are things that require strength, commitment, and authority to intervene in.

The United Nations has none of the above.

All it can do is look sternly at the elevens and say "Obey!". Even the defeated nation of Nipponland will roll its eyes and tell them to go fuck themselves.
>>
>>10188037
The whole idea of a single permanent Security Council member being able to veto an idea and kill it off is one reason the UN never gets anything done.
>>
>>10188067
Thank god for that though, since they usually are heading in the wrong direction anyways. Case in point, their efforts to stop child abuse in Japan.
>>
>>10188067
No, the fact that it allows in nations that violate its own founding rules is why it never gets shit done.

The idea that a nation would join the United Nations and actually vote against itself to stop behaving like a third world dictatorship is sheer madness. Unfriendly nations join the United Nations so they can circumvent and sabotage actual reform.

As always, global changes take place in the form of global economic shifts, international treaty agreements, and internal reform.

un has no army, they can't do shit expect siphon off donated money meant for starving africans into swiss bank accounts.

Oh, but they do. Namely, "You want to eat? Then spread 'em, little bitch"
UN agencies are the ones doing the child-rape and prostitution in those areas.
