I caught up on episodes 4 and 5 and I have to say I can't wait for the next one. Why is this so entertaining?
It's the power of idols.
Minami a best.
Because all the girls are best girl.
Reminder to deal with it. Airi is love.
Please be more objective.
>Because all the girls are same girl.
Because it's on par with watching a trainwreck. Specially that last episode.
Well, that still does not disqualify them from being 'best'.
Is HS the only group 'subbing' this?
The threads have been dead since episode 5, It's not even entertaining.
What the fuck is Yamakan doing.
Wasn't aware Yamakan was in charge of making WUG threads on /a/.
>What the fuck is Yamakan doing.
He's doing what he does best; hyping and making shit shows.
B-but I like it.
It's okay anon, we won't judge you for liking shit shows.
But it's fun! Don't you like fun things, anon?
More like cringeworthy, I had to pause countless times in the last episode because it was embarrassing
It's entertaining because it's cringeworthy sometimes.
Jesus Christ that sameface.
Someone just post the fucking gif already
I don't find constantly cringing and facepalming my forehead "fun" activity, but to each their own i suppose.
It may look like that but once you watch the show all the girls are easily differenciable.
If it's that consistent, the problem is with you, not the show.
>kaya goes out of her way to not flash her pantsu
Poll said otherwise.
How was episode 5? I fall asleep while watching ep. 4, I haven't catch up since then and I'm not sure if I'm going to.
If they're the top 3 best, why do they look so dejected?
She knows what she's doing.
If /a/ hated you, despite being a super cute little girl, wouldn't you feel dejected, too?
Please support Wake up girls or we'll always be drawn like that.
I'd watch WUG if they changed the artworks into that. At least now i can differentiate them easily.
>not watching WUG
What's the matter you don't like cute girls?
Look at this thread. It's chock-full of people who downright hate these cute girls. Such a sad state of affairs for /a/.
We just don't like boring and shitty shows
>It's chock-full of people who downright hate these cute girls
You must be seeing things.
These girls are not very cute. The girl who wears a Union Jack is, but that's it.
Basically nothing interesting has happened since episode 2. Fuck you Yamakan.
I enjoyed their shitty show last episode. And that stalker guy is fucking based.
Since the movie you mean. I'm still watching it because i'm a sucker for idols, but shit is going nowhere, i hope new guy does something about it.
Also i thought Manager was gonna be more relevant, he's doing nothing and it seems he never will.
Just watched the last episode, that was cringeworthy as fuck.
Yeah, I don't really get where this series is going; the tone is sort of all over the place.
Why have they all forgotten how to dance in a month?
I think they wanted to give the image of them being still far from being good dancers like I-1 club, but i think they went too far. They practiced a lot for it, even amateur people can learn to dance a song in some weeks, you don't need to be a genius to do that. They even have experience already, and Mayu is there. To be honest it was really stupid.
>i think they went too far.
Would have been boring if they didn't.
I'm seeing fourteen reasons right there.
Well yeah, that's what I meant by why they forgot how to dance. It was like that was their first time on stage. There has also been a pretty decent amount of time between a successful dance after training in the movie and even more practice. If they want to make a cute idol show, this is fine, but Yamakan also seems to want to make it a little more grounded. I don't know. I really don't understand what they want this show to be. It just doesn't have a clear direction.
Why do I find this creepy?
Bad directing is the problem with this show. Yamakan wants to have so many messages but they're conflicting with each other.
Being an idol is full of contradictions, you have to be pure (virgin, no boyfriend etc...) but at the same time do gravure photos and handshake hundreds of greasy otakus at events.
Isn't that an example of the virgin whore complex?
In /a/ term it'd be called SUPER INTERESTING.
I haven't watch it yet, gonna wait for people to finish this and spoonfeed me if it's about suffering of idol or just another aimasu.
Because it's fan service not intended to be fan service. It's like watching that in a real dance show, you would be like "What" rather than turned on.
No need for that. It was already stated (and obvious by now) that it's not a dark anime, it might have some suffering, but so did IM@S and any other idol show. It's not different, it just have a more "realistic" (though not that real) vision of the industry.
Those scenes with the guy at I-1 drilling all the girls always get me rock hard, for some reason.
>though not that real
If you want real just follow the irl WUG idol group.
>didn't sing their new song at the event
it's just idolmaster now.
You like to see women as an object. Not that rare i guess.
But on the other hand I want the WUG's to succeed and not be whored out too much. I think it's the whole Idol mentality that just doesn't go with me, all those girls just, you know, dancing and singing and all that fake kawaii uguu acting bullshit is downright disgusting.
I don't even know why I am watching and enjoying this as much as I am.
Look at that sameface
Yes,delicious, isn't it? I bet you don't like T2 either, huh? Faggot.
could be worse
>Scene where Airi and Megumi fight over who should be Mayu's best friend
We will wait for you WUG.
We will wait for WUG at the top. We will be waiting for you at Saitama Super Arena.
Or scene were Megumi is jealous of Mayu's new best friend.
this isn't even a competition, it's an execution.
So can someone explain to me why the fucking sucked at their second concert? Was it nerves? They performed their first one flawlessly and this time round they stumble around like blind slothes in the dark.
No one can explain it. It was only to show they are shit and I-1 is good.
new dance, no time to prepare, no panties to distract the viewers.
Maybe they were pressured by I1 being in town.
I hope Leader stops being angsty and settles her shit with Mayu. They need to step it up.
>No time to prepare
This makes more sense.
This. And like the prez said, they had that attitude of wanting to blow I-1 the fuck out, but got all let down when no one came, though this could be included in "pressure of I-1 being in town". It was silly, of course, but at least they realized it afterwards.
How many episodes is this scheduled for?
Like someone has said, it was due to pressure, also the inhouse hostile air, depressing things happening, and teamwork falling apart.
Is it bad that I now know the first names of the WuG-7's characters after watching episode 5?
I personally only remember Minami, Kaya thanks to this thread, and that's, it.
I only know Okamoto, Hisami, Shimada and Katayama.
But I guess I'll memorize them soon enough.
Yoshino was Nana something too.
I have all episodes + movie dl'd but I haven't seen iDOLM@ster. What do?
Just watch WUG, no need to watch IM@S to enjoy it. They are quite different.
I think they are easy as fuck, don't get why you guys are getting problem with them.
I'd say watch Idolm@ster.
If nothing else, it's always fun to pick a favorite idol, see for yourself who turns out to be yours, since they really are each unique (I mean as in it's easy to differentiate both by designs and characteristics).
This is technically my first idol show, unless Symphogear counts (it doesn't, in my opinion), though I might as well pick up all the other after this.
I used to mess up Minami's name, Katayama with Takayama. I blame Takatsuki since they are quite similar.
Uh, watch it?
The only way you're ever gonna play the main games is with a Japanese 360.
IM@S2 is an actual main game and playeable in PS3.
I think I'ma stick w/ it, give the movie then episodes a watch sometime soon. Thanks anons
all those dudes supported them though
Sorry, by "inhouse" I meant among the group, what with the tension between Yoshino and Mayu.
Or a scene where Mayu bursts into I-1's dance Studio and yells 'IWASAKI SHIHO!'
Superior Idol Group is just Superior.
Probably cause you're still kind of "normal" and/or not used to the animu yet. To me, it's just another panty shot.
Just watched this. Whoever said WUG was Yamakan's condemnation of the idol industry was obviously wrong. WUG is now 100% part of the idol industry. There is no separation.
I think it's safe to say nobody can tell what Yamakan is thinking, including Yamakan.
Has this ever NOT been the case?
He was condemning the fact that he hadn't profited from it yet.
Jukki went from 'I must put Giant Robots in everything including Idols' to 'I can't stop thinking about Idols.'
Isn't it a tax extreme?
Sakurako must have fucked him real good in her dungeon.
Have you watched the Radio Show with KatoFuku (Hiiragis)?
They try to take over the Show in the name of I-1.
Whoever that girl on the right is, and the 2nd one from the left, they better be best grills, because I'll be picking this show up only for them.
>that girl on the right
Minyami is definitely best girl, at least according to my sophiscated opinion.
>all that sameface
No need to be hostile.
I'm sure Nanami will be quite top-tier once we get to her episode as well. I also like her tsun little interactions with Kaya.
It's just that Minami was great even outside it.
>once we get to her episode
She's already top-tier
Well, I love her, but I need to see more of her character to place her as high as Minami.
I feel like a complete dumbass, I started watching the series without watching the initial movie
I haven't watched it either.
thought this was k_kisekae
I would blame Yamakan. Why wouldn't a normal person think that episode 1 of a new series is a sensible place to start? At the very least, release the movie a week before. Don't release it on the very same day.
I did it too, and wasn't impressed. Then I realized that the movie happens first, watched it, and all of a sudden, the story and the characters clicked.
Yamakan never disappoints.
>wasn't going to watch WUG until commie subbed the movie
>yet commie doesn't do the series because they hate the WUGs
little bit schizophrenic there
using horriblesubs just enhanced the SUFFERING, i suppose
I blame the encoders/fansubs for giving a confusing name to the movie "Wake Up, Girls! - Seven Idols - 01". Reads as if it was the first episode, to be easily confused with "Wake Up, Girls! - 01".
Some people like you simply went over and missed it. Understandable if you don't follow the show closely or read the Japanese news.
I watched the movie and all the released episode in one day. I am a little disappointed in you /a/, it's not often that I have to actively search for a thread for a show that I watch. Some pf the girls are pretty hot, but I feel rather sorry for them.
You can't watch a lot of shows..
No, I just refresh the frontpage far too often.
How long until complete global saturation?
There's a WUG fancomic on Pixiv with chibi WUGs and a lot of pantsu. Can't post it right now, but it seemed interesting, though I have no idea what they're saying.
I'll be waiting for that day.
It took Love Live 3 years to get there.
People still refresh the frontpage years after the implementation of the catalog and infinite scroll?
Because you're new here friend. The word creepy will be dropped from your vocabulary when you increase your power level.
The BPO (Broadcasting Ethics & Program Improvement Organization) actually addressed this scene. Stay away from my animu.
Ep 4 had 29.7 / 13.2 / 18.1 / 14.7 / 24.2
Is there bullying in this series?
Which WUG would you tug?
round cheeks are cute.
Nanami is so adorable, my body can't even handle it.
Miyuu is the only decent WuG, Plus the cutest.
Shit taste as usual.
Holy shit this made me cringe so bad. Why did they fuck up so badly this time but were okay before?
I-1 was weighing on their minds too much.
Bad vibes, even Twinkle spotted it.
None, looks shit!
You can always have a rough performance. I still remember AKB getting lectured by Akimoto for some concert (SSA '11?) and they were a group for +5 years then.
80s K-on would have been even more amazing
wanna bet that the boss lady is some ex oldschool idol?
Nice song title.
Am I supposed to imagine a 16 year old idol on the floor with her butt lifted and legs spread?
Because that would be a perverted.
Yes and not just restricted to that floor pose, example >>101889222
But she's 3 years younger than that!
OUTTTOOO!! She gonna get hit with something outside right?
The ones that get cut wind up in the underground idol sex industry.
Any chance of the Mobage WUGs being spun off into a new manga or series (a la Cinderella Girls)?
Whos that waito piggu on the left?
The ones that get rejected go back to their schools and become School Idols instead which is in itself a pathway to actual Idol Stardom.
Miyu's favourite Idol Group at the moment is μ's.
During a certain day-off, Wake Up Girl take the Shinkansen to Tokyo. With Miyu leading the way, they go to a certain school located near Akibahara named Otonakizaka.
At the school entrance, they meet a young blonde girl named Arisa who turns out be related to one of the members. Miyu and Arisa quickly becomes friend and they begin discussing the finer points of AKB0048.
When the performance begins, Mayu begins waving the the Glowstick Wolverine claws and going crazy alongside Arisa.
Yoshino frowns when Nanami asks if the blue girl on stage is her couisin.
Afterwards, Arisa takes the WUGs to meet her sister and the group personally. The first thing Miyu does is ask for the autograph of all 9 Group members.
After recognising who Mayu is, Hanayo squeals and asks Mayu for a photo and autograph.
I wish. They seem pretty interesting. Maybe if WUG sells enough they could incorporate them as new trainees or side-groups under the same company.
Man, i was cringing hard and feeling bad at the same time watching the performance in this episode, its an ok episode.
moot wanting some easy idol ass i guess.
Later in the day, they go to a certain Maid Cafe to see Minalinsky perform. To Miyu's shock, it's the girl she met earlier! Kotori!
A duet ensures between the two part-time maid workers.
Meanwhile Maki and Nanami strike up a conversation with a customer they're sitting with; Iori. The topic of their best friends get brought up. The three of them proceed to blush and deny in a triple-tsun combo.
In case anyone is curious, this is the jist of it:
Final panel, girl on the left "Thank you very much~! (I can't stand this shit I wanna go home right now)"
Girl on the right: "Ah~ everyday's great at your Junes-"
I hope you enjoyed my homemade commie subs
Why is she such a slut?
Girl on the left is Kotori from Love Live. Basically saying that Miyu is pure and genuine while Kotori is all "きもっ".
Gotta give props to them for paying attention to detail since Shukan Bunshun (tabloid magazine) always publishes its scandal pictures in grayscale.
Oh right, this is the comic I was talking about earlier. There are more of them on that guy's pixiv.
Watching idols fight for a position on the main stage is like watching a cockfight.
I dropped it after 3 episodes because it was boring as fuck. I dont know why youre entertained by it.
>I don;t know how others are entertained by things I don't like
It sure works for me. I think the reason is that I don't like idols. WUG seems like an idol anime for people who hate idols. It represents the idols as little more than naiive misguided little prostitutes.
Dumping wug comix. Translation would be appreciated.
So this show is all about discreetly critiquing idol culture, right?
Isn't he just calling idols whores?
This one was already posted, but this is full-res version.
why do i feel that them two are too close even outside professional life?
>better than anyone
It's like whoever made that list was purposely being stupid.
