We need a manga thread!
What are you reading?
What do you have finished?
Do you add something new to your collection?
This manga is pretty ok.
Maybe i'll pick it up.
It's like a different approach to 2x2 shinobuden, i'm a sucker for retarded ninjas.
>This manga is pretty ok.
I would say 'almost OK.' I forget about it and get behind a LOT.
Been catching up on shit lately so I haven't picked up anything new this week.
Comic Studio finished.
New chapters of Rising x Rydeen.
Nicoichi finally has someone working on it again.
New Denki-gai no Honya-san and Yowamushi Pedal volumes.
Silva finished with a very amusing final page (or inside the cover technically).
Bunch of other stuff...
Read a series called World Trigger, loving it so far seems like it could go places and probably JUMP the shark in the future
>tfw scanlator credits spoiled information about the characters
What's the best light hearted humor based manga you've read?
I'm following Tonari no Seki-kun, Sakamoto desu ga? and Saint Young Men, they're all pretty good, looking for something similiar in quality.
I've never read a manga that's given me the same feel as I have had when I saw an anime I really liked. Maybe they're too long
Currently reading Black Jack.
Haven't read much of Tezuka but man was the man ahead of his time.
I just love his short stories.
>mfw finishing O/A
Shit was fucking cash.
It's about a masochistic loli witch. Do I even have to say anything else?
title in the filename
>anime recommendation thread
>manga recommendation thread
or it's because they are black and white and are not animated and don't have music.
those things help with immersion
Reading Yakitate Japan right now, I never thought that a food manga can be this amazing
I dunno, maybe that is the case. I've just never found a manga I really REALLY liked.
What's the problem
>What are you reading?
What do you have finished?
Do you add something new to your collection?
Do you even read Manga?
I'm terrible at picking a ~best~. How about,
Ichigeki Sacchu Hoioi-san
Ultimate Hentai Kamen
or something else?
Black Jack is the best.
This looks stupid as hell. Picked up.
It the difference between asking and giving recommendations. Rec threads are only bad if the OP asks for something. Also we have those 'what did you pick up this season' anime thread all the time.
I'm reading this, it's pretty good.
I guess I was feeling a little masochistic because I just finished a bunch of manga from Ikuemi Ryou. Her stories are all right, but there's NTR in nearly everything she writes. I've never really believed in the shoujo/NTR stereotype but fuck, I've never seen a person try to validate it so much.
We expect you to know shit about anime the second you come here, asking for recommendations confirms you don't.
As for manga not many people here read manga as they watch anime and so there's not as big expectations.
>Read witch hunter
>develop severe smug loli addiction
HELP I NEED A FIX
Reading Instant Bullet, Last game, Hajime no Ippo, Koe No Katachi, Horimyia and Renai Kaidan Sayoko-san.
Every and each of these are really slow at getting translated. I'm fucking dying waiting for Instant Bullet.
>As for manga not many people here read manga as they watch anime and so there's not as big expectations.
Is it on this list? Them I've read it.
Is it still being released/translated? Then I'm following?
Is it awful? That doesn't matter; we don't drop series in this company.
Is it highlighted? Maybe you should read it too.
Usually not much of a fan of genderbender stories but this is pretty damn entertaining for some reason.
Maybe it's just so ridiculous that it's amazing.
>left to right
What the fuck are you doing?
>Black Jack is the best.
He's really turning out to be one of my favorite characters. He's really interesting.
Sorry, my bad. I didn't think about it.
>we don't drop series in this company.
I just finished Pink and even though the ending kicked me in the balls, I want more Kyoko Okazaki. After I finish that I'll probably read Tanaka's manga shorts, and then go on to Ashita No Joe or City Hunter.
I wish this list also had something denoting which ones are completely scanlated.
You should do that yourself.
Angel Densetsu is sure worth the read.
It's completely hilarious but sort of drags on near the end and becomes funny a bit and then ends.
It's really one of the comedies I've read by far.
I tried to read a similar with a girl being creepy but it just didn't click the same way as Densetsu.
Since that never factors into whether I read something or not I wouldn't even know how to go about implementing that. The way it works now is my comics folder gets walked, the domestic stuff is removed based on another list, and then the color boxes are pushed around the new entries. If I wanted to add something like that I'd either have to go and add some kind of information in o the folder names of each series that my script could read or I'd have to redesign the process using a database. On top of that either method would force me to go back and triple check what's finished and what's not. It's just not something I want to do.
>I tried to read a similar with a girl being creepy
>Is it awful? That doesn't matter; we don't drop series in this company.
That's dumb, you're dumb.
And for someone who has read so much, you're missing a lot of good manga.
>That's dumb, you're dumb.
I think reading things that aren't great is a good way to increase your general knowledge. I've only ever technically dropped one series.
>you're missing a lot of good manga.
They'll get read some day. My 'to read in future' list is over 4000 items long. Also you can tell me what they are; I would love that.
Hinamatsuri, Mission School, Aho Girl, Nichibros, Nichijou, Teekyuu, Plastic Nee-san and Gou-Dere Bishoujo Nagihara Sora.
>I've only ever technically dropped one series.
>That's dumb, you're dumb.
He's the true hero of /a/ and you're just another shitlord.
Be glad people like him exist, they counterbalance how shitty you are.
I don't remember the name.
It was a shoujo series where a girls new kid step brother keeps seriously trying to rape her. Then we meet his dad who is also a rapist, because that shit is hereditary, and the kid saves her from him over and over again while also trying to rape her.
It was bad. It was bad in every sense of the word.
>talking about manga is equal to recommend them
Fuck off, retard.
I read a lot more manga than I watch anime.
Now I'm interested.
>everyone tries to rape her
>she ends up falling for a rapist
Yep, that's a shoujo alright.
>finish Shugo Chara
>get this ending
Yeah, screw you Peach-Pit.
Fuck, and here I was considering my 300+ title backlog to be getting annoyingly large.
Story is going a particular cliche way though. At least it looks like it judging from raws.
Justice girl wants to destroy city. World destroyer guy actually saves city.
How many manga are you following?
I don't even have a backlog, whenever I find something new I try to read it all in the same day since I already struggle enough with airing anime and ongoing manga.
Check Shamo, MPD Psycho, Everything by Jiro Taniguchi, Kodomo no Omocha, Bastard, Liar Game, 7 Seeds, Blame, Biomega, Tenjou Tenge, Everything by Leiji Matsumoto etc.
Why do you read so many mediocre manga?
He doesn't know if it's mediocre before he reads it, and he doesn't drop anything.
Finally picked up AssClass.
>Hoshi no Samidare
>everyone should read
No. If you pick only those as must read then Samidare shouldn't be in that group.
i'm just reading Kingdom at the moment
i tried 7 seeds but i just can't get myself to like the art
the softest manga
>Why do you read so many mediocre manga?
I read some bad ones too. I somehow enjoy it.
Also pretty much all of those, but not 7 Seeds, are on my list of things to eventually read in the future.
I don't see why not
>New Denki-gai no Honya-san
more girls crying. thank you Mizu Asato
I love rape
I already like this guy. The other one looks like a whiteknight faggot out from a shojo manga.
Why would you read all those mediocre manga before high calibres?
I found it a little more than mediocre.
Keeping up with Nobunaga no Chef and Again. I don't like picking up ongoing series because I like reading at my own pace, which is always a little faster than groups usually release new chapters.
Finshed Sumire 17-sai as well. Still polishing my work though.
Also I just remembered that this series existed. It reminds me that nobody does Japanese web comics. I wonder if they're usually as bad as Korean ones. I really don't understand their popularity at all.
For anyone who likes romance but isn't a fan of overwrought drama, Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha is fantastic.
I maintain it's a romance manga done right, even if Inari's love is slightly unrealistically pure.
How the fuck do you keep up with new manga? Shit is in dozens of magazines, new series are always ending and starting. I always feel like I'm missing shitloads of good stuff.
You are, and you always will.
Inari is the world's purest daughteru, so her love being pure isn't much of a stretch.
Look at this. It's ridiculous.
He did nothing but being friendly. Makes me mad.
Boys on the run.
If only there were some sort of website that allowed you to keep track of new releases and informed you when they were updated...
Holy shit, hahahahahaha.
Oh, wow, didn't expect that at all.
Uka-sama best girl
Yeah it stems from an AIM handle I used back in the early 00s and continue to use now for stupid shit. When I joined MU I didn't think I'd become as invested in manga as I have been, so there you have it.
I remember watching Nobunaga no Chef drama last year. It was similar to the manga but the blacksmith and the ninja had more important roles.
It was also very very badly written, even by shoujo standards. I mean, I knew the premise before I started reading it.
>Why would you read all those mediocre manga before high calibres?
I read different stuff depending on my mood. Sometimes I just want to read stupid shit.
>I found it a little more than mediocre.
The art in this is gorgeous in the most unusual way.
Too bad she isn't the main character.
Tell me what's special about Samidare. Seriously.
I have an assload of CDJapan points. I'm planning on scanning Keyman and Neko Musume Michikusa Nikki. If you want anything else, let me know.
>It was also very very badly written, even by shoujo standards
Oh, too bad. I like those super girly shoujo stories, because men are super alpha there, bullying and molesting, like it's nothing
There's nothing special about it. It's just a solid series with no problems that is enjoyable to read.
There's too much potential for terrible jokes that isn't being capitalized on.
>Kodomo no Omocha,
Things I learned tonight: There are scans of this.
Did it have a domestic release, because Mangaupdates says no scans?
Alright, gonna download this now.
What terrible jokes?
New Nickelodeon chapters are back and coming out very quickly.
What a time to be alive.
reading terraformas liking it so far
Don't know, the only thing I know is that it's published in Italy.
Ladies and gentlemen: the first person in this thread with absolutely 0 taste.
There aren't (m)any, that's the point. Stuff like statements that are ironic in the context of other worlds.
Terra ForMars is alright.
Last time on Yumekui Merry
We're going to get a translation thread for the next chapter of Boku Girl in about an hour.
Seconding these >>101875683
Also, just off the top of my head: vagabond, kokou no hito, fist of the north star, and shigurui.
I can't imagine how awful it would be if I was forced to finish everything I started. There are a ton of terrible manga out there and there's no good way to tell the good from the bad without reading a bit yourself.
I read this recently and it's become one of my favorites. I can't really defend the art aside from "you'll get used to it", but the character building and the setting are great.
OTP. Not even kidding, I expect they'll end up together.
I'm reading Gakkou Gurashi lately, it's really good.
I got bored of it, does it get better?
I really don't like the mixing of cute girls in a zombie apocalypse, the tone doesn't fit well at all for me.
I love me some SoL ;3 and some zombie but they really don't work well for some reason.
Anyone following Usogui?
So it's got a pretty top notch execution as a mind-game/gambling manga.
Pink hair is so annoying.
Holy shit this manga went full retard on the last chapters
I've thought it was excellent all the way through so I can't help you there. The last four or so chapters were an exciting ride though.
I'm with you anon, I'm so fucking sick of zombies that I can't go near anything that has to do with them anymore.
Just give up. If it's good, you'll come across it again someday. Nothing gets lost forever in this day and age.
>the tone doesn't fit well at all for me
That's what I like about it. It's just off putting in a good way.
>I can't imagine how awful it would be if I was forced to finish everything I started.
People tell me I'm an M.
I kinda wanna read this on paper, but I still don't own it.
>People are actually giving me recommendations out of the blue.
This is a good thread.
Does anyone have that page of the loli with an army of orcs or something saying lets go?
i need it to find out which manga was
I'm currently reading Sore wa Totsuzen, Unmei no Aite ga. Bretty good, I might storytime it here on Valentines Day if i feel like it
Whoever posted Dungeon ni in one of these threads a day or two ago I gotta thank you.
Huh, I thought that that looked kinda shitty. I'll give it another look then.
Finnished pic related and liked it. Now I'm torn between reading something by the same artist or something that'd go well with a playlist of chanting monks.
Though my favourite serie right now would be Shut Hell even though wolfu died
Biscuit Hammer, was ok.
I don't like adding a to my backlog because there's already too much stuff out that haven't read and I don't like feeling like I have to go by an order.
If anybody has any manga featuring blacksmiths ( y'know the japanese type ) or metalworkers.
I'm reading it as well. Its ok so far.
time for bed
This is a list of all the things I am reading or can remember reading.
Got into Shut Hell the other day, which is great.
My current favorite is Sidonia no Kishi.
Sotomura is one of the best cutesy 4koma I have ever seen.
Just felt like reading Flame of Recca. Enjoying it more than I thought I would.
Finished Nanatsu no Taizai and really enjoyed that. Currently going through Lucifer and the Biscuit hammer and it's alright so far.
I prefer his works with a full plot over just his short stories, to be honest.
I found a Korean manhwa I like, which is highly unusual. The pacing has been slow, but based on the most recent chapter, I feel like shit is about to hit the fan.
What's the best way to keep track of manga I've read
680th Chapter of One Piece.
Finally caught up in Punk Hazard. this Poison Gas is a bitch to escape from.
Phoenix is THE best. Think of a 3000-pages long Spirit Circle.
I haven't read Phoenix yet. I'm sure it is great, but nothing can take Black Jack's place in my heart.
Just want to let you know that there is approximately 14560 pages in the entire run of One Piece.
The more you know.
Store it all on your computer.
Not all manga is scanned gigaweeb
>being a buyfag
>call others weeb
Well if you own physical copies of it then you can just look at your selves.
There's more than one way to get your hands on a physical book turbonerd.
>Reading other people's books.
Aren't you afraid of AIDS!?
Whatever, ultravirgin. I'm going to the library for another orgy.
Oba's Electroplate Factory. Short oneshot.
I'm the opposite, although I'm not really much of a fan of Black Jack.
Catching up on Yumekui Merry at the moment.
>Finshed Sumire 17-sai as well.
Oh, cool. I'll probably miss the thread if you have one. Gonna release on Batoto?
Ketchup Ninja was fun. The entire Korean comic industry must revolve around webcomics now. If you mean western popularity, you really can't underestimate the effect of being left to right (and cheap colouring to mask subpar drawing).
That would be Id - The Greatest Fusion Fantasy. I never read it myself, but I remember the page fondly.
>replies hours after my post
neat. Regarding Sumire, all I've done is some novice translation, which I'm currently tweaking. I don't have any editing skills, so I'm going to ask for help whenever I see a scanlation thread. Whoever edits it will have the finished product, so they can upload it.
I might also dump the chapters with script in the posts like I did earlier, probably on the weekend depending on when I finish my work. I haven't decided yet.
Just finished Kokou no Hito, holy fuck that was an intense read. Ignore sluts, bitches, acquire fame and wife tier wife.
How does the staring sound?
I've just finished reading Emma. I fell in love with it and read it like a man possessed. The only complaint I had was how rushed the ending felt. Seems like it got cancelled at one point. Kinda ruined the experience for me.
Read the first few pages and the girl looks just like the ninjagirl from Mizugi Kanojo
