Anime adaption when?
The girl speaks better than her parents.
Figured someone would notice. Sharp as always 4chan. Anyway this is an amazing manga, I recommend picking it up if you guys haven't already.
so she knows the tase of shit right? I still dont know that though...
Not to hard to find out. Don't let this thread die anons.
Oh shit, how hard did he just tell her /a/?
Shes the ultimate Tsun
Dere is almost nonexistent
This is actually pretty funny.
Seriously their laying down some life lessons here.
...you mean a cotoletta?
How can you fuck up the name when they show you exactly the original recipe, most places, especially outside of italy don't use this kind of meat, this is the original recipe, yet you still fuck up the name.
A frittata doesn't incorporate meat at all, it's just eggs.
Mixed with vegetables if you want to make a campagnola or something.
This is getting lewd.
I spoke to soon.
Spring 2015 at the earliest.
Production may be announced this year, but it's not going to air in 2014
But they are the same as banty eggs, or any chicken/bird eggs.
They don't taste different.
They're just smaller.
Silkies are kawaii as fuck though. Like bony cats.
Equal opportunity ecchi. I love it
I never noticed all the grammatical errors before. Thank you for awakening the Grammar Gestapo inside me, /a/.
Really that late? Well I guess it needs more time to expand before an adaption. It's just this would have so much potential for an anime
Not an official translation.
That was before jap cookin girl. Prolly.
;_; <--tears of joy
>Dark and Edgy shit Akagame no kill is getting an anime adaption even though it barely has 50 chapters
>Shokugeki no Soma is one of Jumps most popular series but still has no adaption announced
No justice in this world
You could take this as a pretty good sign actually, Shokugeki is a decent contender to get a long running series with it doing extremely well and Jump looking to replace the various big manga that're ending. Kuroko's got it's adaptation too early and suffered for it, it got chunked into seasons and although the adaptation is great, the first season ended at a terrible spot in the story and the second season is assured to end similarly.
>comparing adapting a weekly shonen to a monthly series.
So we can all agree Yoshino is the best girl, right?
Not when Ryoko exists.
Damnit /a/ how have I not heard of this shit yet.
Best grill IMO
>mfw Viz announced they were licensing it
>mfw this is the first manga I'll ever actually buy
>mfw I can finally support Tosh financially
Tadokoro: Mizuki Nana
Erina: Itou Kanae
Meat: Hanazawa Kana
Alice: Saitou Chiwa
Isn't this scene only from the oneshot?
After it has been running for at least two years. For weekly manga, that's usually the minimum as to how long it'll take.
I don't care how fucking stupid it sounds, Tosh deserves my money.
I wonder why it takes so long for this shit to get an anime, it is so good and the way you can explore the reactions and expressions they make in the manga, literally food porn.
They need ample material to work with.
Fuck yeah, time to finally buy some manga's again.
Tied for fourth, and the two idiots haven't been judged yet so she's getting knocked out.
Second behind meat, but she does have the best reactions in the manga
It's still quite new. I rather the manga having more material so it doesn't need a shit pacing in the anime.
Holy fuck, how the hell is her body so obscene when she's dressed in so much clothing.
The outfit is too small for her, that's why it looks sexy.
Anime threads would just turn into bigger a war between Megumi and Erina.
>MFW I can finally start buying manga worth my money
Now all we need is assurance it won't go to shit and an OPM license.
>he doesn't at least check out every new Jump manga
you only have yourself to blame
I bet you don't even read Assassination Classroom, either
Ummmm uhrrhrhr ummm
As far as I'm concerned Erina a shit compaired to all the amazing girls in the manga so far. Look me in the eye and tell me Meat isn't a better tsundere with a better body, and Alice isn't just a better girl overall.
Megumi is cute but super annoying, and I also think she has no real devolpment with Souma so far anyway, she doesn't seem like she likes him.
Nikumi > Alice > Tadokoro > the rest > Erina
I'd also say World Trigger is worth checking out. It had a good first year.
My favorite girl from this manga is Erina's aide
Souma's important to Megumi in some way, enough that the thought of him is enough mental support to perform at her full potential in front of a massive crowd. If she isn't romantically interested right now, it's still only about a stone's throw away from getting there.
WT surprised me by NOT being shit.
Also Iron Knight has some potential I think.
Iron Knight got hurt pretty bad by the usual WSJ bullshit editing, the oneshot direction had so much more promise.
It could still turn out quite good though, and I like that MC uses human ingenuity in his battles rather than bullshit shounen powerups.
You guys need to understand that some people likes bitches and whores and tsun no deres. Your taste is not the only one in the world. Funny how no one called meat a shit (just because we all know she is not going to win, and brown) when she was introduced, she was the same as Erina
>But she changed
Nobody said she was shit even when she was a total bitch. Stop being this mad about Erina being a bitch and potential winner of the DISH.
Good point but I still think it's odd. But I really wish that Meat would win. She and Souma are a perfect fit in my eyes. If I were him I wouldn't think twice about the meat in her breasts.
I liked it when it was still called Goblin Knight
You're a faggot sir. Some of us want the underdog to win. Not the bitch who treats the MC like shit and has a snotty attitude that nobody likes.
>Meat: Hanazawa Kana
You couldn't be more off
That's the same story I hear from everyone who's been following it.
I'm not sure what to think of the current arc. That evil council is giving me Akasuki flashbacks. Here's hoping that it continues not sucking.
I like her.
>Some of us want the underdog to win
And? I don't call a girl a shit just because i want the one i like to win, turbonerd.
this is just more stupid than toriko
super overacting about food WTF!
Japs likes to overact to anything. And this is a manga, what did you expect?
What's there to like? The cliche'd Tsun Tsun stuck up character that looks down on everyone? She knew Souma was a good cook from the start, she just calls him bad/doesn't believe he will make it out of spite. Even getting mad that he made 200 dishes. Bow down to me because I'm better than you and have more money than you bullshit.
You sound like an idiot, or a complete M. One of the two.
To clarify, is this the cooking battle manga who's author made a bunch of H-manga?
Yes and no. It's that manga, the guy drawing is the H mangaka, but the plot is made by another guy and a chef girl. They are a team.
no, this is the SoL about a little girl from that author who used to do H-manga
I think you mean the vampire battle manga from the former H-mangaka
he's even using his old characters
She's sexy, cute, and i'm a M. Pretty sure i'm not the only one either.
>Second most popular character in Japan
>there are people arguing this hard about best girl.
I've seen a few seasons of Gordon Ramsay's reality shows. With the various cooking challenges, in some cases in an elimination/tournament structure, I can't help but mentally connect them.
Thank you, I've been hearing about this on and off for a while, but I haven't heard it by its proper name, so I wasn't sure if it was the same.
Personally don't know why she's popular, she has so little character devolopment compared to Megumi or Meat. Maybe I'll like her better when she actually gets a real fleshed out personality other than cliches, cause frankly it's quite plain as of now.
Well, Megumi is third, but Japs tends to vote the main characters first and they see Erina as the female main, and she kind of is, actually.
Erina reminds me of Vera Linus from Veritas, and she was the most turbo-bitch ultra-cunt of all time.
to be fair, she is very attractive, regardless of her personality
also, when has a main character not been near the top of popularity polls?
Erina doesn't really make my top 3 but to be fair, she's a lot more nuanced than that. She and Tadokoro are the only female characters with any notable depth so far. Meat can be chunked down to how she's presented and the time she spends cooking with Souma but beyond that her characterization hasn't actually evolved since the first bout she had with him even though she got a whole arc to do so, Alice obviously has hidden depths but nothing has been presented or could reasonably be guessed about at this point, and every other female character is completely flat.
Tadokoro aside who has a beautiful character arc, Erina's been subtly warming up to the world around her, her background shows that she's not someone who's just a haughty ojou-sama but expects highly of people because she holds herself to massive standards in a pursuit of perfect food and her few interactions with Souma make her a bit more affable each time, she won't say it but it's clear at this point that she knows of his growth.
Plus anyways, that shit aside, there's a lot of S material for Erina too, Souma knows.
I agree she has some kind of main female role, however the funny thing is she doesn't really show up ever outside of competitions, which doesn't make sense. And becides the whole Souma's dad thing and her "Filler" day with Alice, she has yet to make any real story impact.
Megumi isn't even a love interest as of now so she doesn't count either.
Even Souma seems a bit dense, so this is going to be interesting
I like how alice's eyes are drawn in chibi-mode or whatever
the panels on the left here
it's cute and hot
The author's set up romance to be a major portion of the story, but he's also set us up to watch Souma go from enrollment to graduation.
I don't think Megumi and Souma have any romantic tension going on at all right now, but I'm expecting one of them to pick up an interest in the other around the time that Erina actually starts showing up as a cast member of a special star guest.
Souma will probably get interested on Erina as a challenge and will end with her at the end. It's like her father told him "Find a woman to improve your skills" or something like that.
>Not wanting to melt a bitchy ice queen
Sometimes i just don't get you guys.
>not wanting delicious brown chocolate that melts in your mouth all on its own
why is erina such an utter bitch
Here we go, a discussion I've been waiting for. Now first off, as far as romantic development there has been no real interest, which is fine I guess. But the odd thing about Erina, my feeling about her aside is just purely the amount of screen/page time she has gotten. It's just too little for now for a main possible love interest. But I agree once the harem/choice juices start flowing the girls should be a bit more open about what they feel.
Now more of a response to the second anon, his dad says to find a girl to eat his meals right? Ironic the first woman he meats is Erina. No coincidence.
I kinda want Alice to be a potential love interest because I quite like her, she's a fun character.
I want to see gorgeous meat gets animated
I agree. Maybe it's a simple thing, but that's the thing that made her stand out to me.
I guess the screentime will be different after Souma gets actually more important in the school, Erina is in the top while he's still barely known around there. Since we follow the story from Souma's POV, i guess it's common to not see Erina all the time, but it will change, probably soon after this arc. (She could still appear watching the tournament though, but i guess that might happen in the finals?)
Alice comes with her own built-in love interest, not that I see that stopping her from taking Souma on a date but at best she'll be a catalyst for both the other romantic relationships as well as a catalyst for various characters to improve their cooking skill.
I've really got high hopes of Kurokiba becoming Souma's wall, they've got a lot of compare and contrast going for them. There'll inevitably be a 2 on 2 cook-off between Alice and Kurokiba against Erina and Souma and it will be glorious.
Yeah, Souma is oddly not very known as of right now. If I had to compare him to anybody he's more or less like Ryuko from KLK. A character that's going to fight his/her way to the top to face the final boss Satsuki/Erina.
I think Kurokiba will lose in the finals to the brown guy, sadly.
But yes, he's a really interesting character, and i'm more than ok with him being Alice's love interest.
Even when drawn normally, Alice's eyes are her best features, though I still prefer Nikumi overall
I don't think I like him as Alice's love interest. I dont think he's a strong character, and also the fact that he has cap's headband pisses me off.
The oneshot chapter was way better than the pilot chapter. Souma doesn't even play around with recipes anymore.
You clearly haven't read on anon. He plays around with ingredients a lot.
>not reading past the first chapter.
I'm pretty biased since I love butlers and delinquints and this guy is pretty much the Holy Grail of male characters for me but I think he's got a lot of potential as a character and as a plot device.
What sets him apart from Souma's other opponents in the narrative is that he's Souma's first opponent coming from beneath him, Kurokiba was similarly not known to be astounding in any way like Hayama is and lacks any background or pedigree like Takumi. Souma comes from the working class of the food world, Kurokiba comes from the slums.
Also similarly to Hayama, Kurokiba was introduced with a female counter-part in a manga where power upgrades is probably going to be synonymous with relationship upgrades, which makes me excited to see how it plays out.
Anyone else kind of bored by the election? Most of these characters were just introduced, but we're spending a lot of time slogging through them. I think I'd prefer more focus on the main cast.
I agree to an extent. I don't like all these random high high scores.
I don't believe that all of those barely introduced characters should be in the 90s. I think that all the characters that have made it so far should be deducted about 10 points, so it gives the 90s some real value
What? Her characters never won.
She's cute as a button but I'm getting sick of her plot armor dishes.
Nope. The next round will be Soma vs Hayama & Kurokiba vs Marui. Soma and Kurokiba will then advance to the next round.
It feels like it got rushed, probably by the editors or someone that's not the autor.
Her voice wouldn't fit Nikumi's character though
On B Block, Alice vs Erina's assistant and Tadokoro vs Takumi. Alice and Takumi will win.
I guess it's good to establish that there are plenty of talented people in the school. It gives the mangaka room later for writing matchups in the later arcs.
Alice is best grill. I wish Erina didn't exist.
Iris Heart's voice does.
I don't really see Tadokoro losing on the first round but I also can't see Takumi vs Souma not happening he needs to lose so he can officially get his Vegeta title.
Hayama's a cool dude, but he just feels like an arc exclusive rival. The elite 10 and those who can actually vie for their seats are the only one's who are going to stay relevant, but spicebro seems way too niche with his spice forte. He's like a male Nikumi, and she hasn't won a thing since her introduction.
Then the semifinals will be Soma vs Kurokiba and Alice vs Takumi. Soma and Alice will proceed to the final round.
We're doing this again?
>Soma beats Tadokoro
>Kurokiba beats Takumi
>Hayama beats Ibusaki
>Alice beats Hisako
>Kurokiba beats Hayama
>Soma beats Alice
>Kurokiba beats Soma
Kurokiba won't win against Souma. Simple.
It will be close but Souma will make something happen. If he loses I'd be extremly suprised.
What's so special about Kurokiba? A lot of people mention him like being the real final boss but I don't really see him that strong. Am i missing something?
well, he scored a 93, and he is Alice's lackey, who's established as one of the best so far.
I don't see him as the final boss, but I guess there is a rough parallel between him & Alice and Souma & Erina for other people to see
It's mostly that he's a Shadow Archetype to Souma. Usually in a sports manga, there's a rival introduced who's similar to the hero, but darker with a few key differences. They both have a similar design, where they look fairly plain most of the time and are subdued next to a lot of the cast, but then they put on their bandanas and turn on rape modes. Kurokiba comes from even more of an underdog background than Souma and his relationship to Alice puts him opposite of Souma who'll inevitably have some relationship with Erina.
The biggest tell is that both of them have the "Cooking is an endless wilderness" mindset going on, but Souma's comes from playful experimentation and Kurokiba comes from a place where he was probably learning how to prepare rats to survive.
