Also daily reminder that Light did nothing wrong.
Didn't Bakuman end not too long ago? Has he announced any new projects yet?
Isn't there a new manga or something?
I hope it's an anime of the BB murder case, maybe a small 40 minute movie would be nice.
Comic do you come "Death Note" sequel? The special 10th anniversary of start-up planning from the start of writing, on March 3! !
Good job google translate.
free swimming lessons? free swimming lessons
>Light did nothing wrong.
Have the intent to kill people is wrong.
Un, deux, trois.
why did L want to catch kira so badly?he was doing the city a favor
is L the batman of anime?
Oh shit, I feel like it's 2007 and 2011 again. 2014 will be glorious, I can already see it.
I would have done exactly the same thing as him.
I just wouldn't get caught. Killing "Lind Taylor" on TV was the dumbest fucking thing he could have done.
If he didn't do that he would have never been caught.
>Light did nothing wrong
except die like a bitch
>I just wouldn't get caught.
That means you don't have the pride or arrogance Light has
>Light smarter then L
If thats upsets you then you haven't seen shit
No the fact that this little is smarter then L and Light is what should upset you
His keikaku's are probably more elaborate than anything I can concoct, but seriously, the ENTIRE series I was just like "this would not have happened if you didn't kill that guy".
He was baited so easily. He knew how the death note worked, why didn't he second guess the fact that L appeared on TV showing his name and face. Even if L didn't know abuot the death note why would Light assume no one else did?
The closest thing to Batman in anime is Hei, and even he falls short.
I wonder why people don't shitpost about Light being a Gary Stu.
There are people on /a/ right now who think the second story arc is good
Because he has flaws. Being a cold hearted manipulating asshole is one of them. Remember this is the guy that considered killing his own sister to keep the Death Note out of Mellow hands
He also doesn't get away with his actions
>He was baited so easily. He knew how the death note worked, why didn't he second guess the fact that L appeared on TV showing his name and face
Again arrogance and pride. With all that intelligence your pond to have arrogance and pride in spades
I think the author was just like "shit, I can't have him win, that's a terrible ending". So he made a "new L" and had Light lose.
I don't like it nearly as much as the first one but I don't think it's unwatchable by any measure. It's worth watching just for the finale.
>Because he has flaws.
Not like that's stopped people before.
>Again arrogance and pride. With all that intelligence your pond to have arrogance and pride in spades
It's so sad. He literally had the cure to the cancer killing the Earth, and he threw it all away because he's an idiot.
Light's justification was that he wanted to send a message to the world that anyone who tried to find him would be swiftly executed, and doing it during a live conference on every channel is a good way of saying "this isn't a trick. You'll die the moment you speak against me."
The logic seemed right at the time.
was it really necessary to make near and L clone
I know, I know.
It just irks me that the kid who supposedly is a super genius can't sniff out a trap. I might have some hindsight bias, but even I saw that trap. I mean seriously, a "live worldwide broadcast" during Japanese day time? Nips aren't this deluded, are they?
Near is my favorite character
Might as well post her stats to, with her 3 sizes
Also that weight with that height does not sound healthy. Pretty sure most people can bench press more then that
Very high IQ doesn't make you immune from making hasty judgements, as any Mensa member can attest. It doesn't fix your temperament, either.
A tad under 5 feet tall and 80 lbs.
Yeah she's pretty damn thin. But wasn't she also a model or some shit? Kinda makes sense that she's a twig.
>she was a young and beautiful model cum actress
>Being a cold hearted manipulating asshole
That's kind of a plus in his case. Being a kindhearted, thoughtful model citizen would be detrimental to reaching his goal.
This was before he had to be super sneaky, and it was probably the event that caused him to start triple-checking his actions.
Why doesn't he just kill government officials so they act for him? There are so many better fucking ways than giving your hand a cramp from writing in hundreds of names a day.
Pronounced "coom". It's Latin.
It's often used when talking about something becoming or being used for something else.
E.g.: bedsheets-cum-toga or nigger-cum-president.
>But wasn't she also a model or some shit?
Model turned actress.
>Kinda makes sense that she's a twig
If you say so.
Well what the fuck, why not just say "She was a young and beautiful model and--
Shit, that actually kind of is more grammatically correct.
There is a porn out there that needs this name
Killing Lind wasn't a bad move, killing the FBI guy was. He knew that would only make him a bigger suspect.
I liked the part where L and Light tried to find out if her pubes were black in one of the omakes.
>killing the FBI guy was
Speaking of which wasn't going to Japan to stalk a possible subject per request of a detective isn't that outside of FBI jurisdiction? Sounds more like CIA work
It is, but Elevens don't know the difference between the two. If anything, it should be Interpol.
/a/ you have ONE SMALL PIECE OF DEATH NOTE
Just enough to write one name on and no instructions. Who do you kill?
captcha related: sup yagamli
Maybe it's a BD release
>Death Note is almost 10 years old
Holy shit, it's really been that long? I should re-watch it sometime.
Would they make a big deal like this out of it?
But nobody has any idea what Interpol does.
I might as well post the omakes
what you should do is use the death note to create plausible but unlikely situations happen repeatedly for people who are already suffering terminal illnesses
for example, have them win the lottery repeatedly, or if they're educated enough have them work and solve academic problems
with that you can more directly do good in the world rather then some stupid round about bullshit about divine punishment
>Light having an interest in anyone but himself
Man the women of the Yagami family must have it rough now. I mean what did the squad tell them about Light dying?
Light you could legit fuck Misa any time any place, and you're waiting for the summer at some pool party.
Dumb ass nigga, smh
Why is Misa so nice looking yet have such a horrid personality?
The manga is 10 years old, the anime is 7 years old now I think
I read that as
>Sure is summer in here
I...I think I need to leave 4chan for a while.
Sometimes even a 18 year old gets urges
He died a virgin
Writer not knowing what to do with her
That and heavy luggage mixed with some really messed up personal issues and has no problem dropping people on the fly. More so then Light perhaps
I don't think you fully understand what is within the realm of the death note's abilities.
Because physical appearance has very little to do with mental/personality?
>Just do it...
Made me laugh
I know that four panel
>You'll never have a faithful wife cooking for you
Holy shit this sudden depression
what would stop you?
I'll preemptively put that bitch in the the dirt before she so much as even frowns at my mongolian manuscripts.
I will also have her suicide bomb a church after stating this is the will of Ansem.
So did Misa
If she was less clingy to Light I would have liked her a lot more. It's one thing to respect him for killing her parents killer, but to go all out fangirl for him was just too much and was not fun to listen to/ watch. Her character had some really good potential that I think was underused.
>those asscheeks coming out from under her shorts
The death note only allows you to manipulate the circumstances of death.
You would only be allowed to say "buy the winning lottery ticket, get excited, run into the road and get hit by a car" or something to that effect.
If it's not directly related to the death of a person it won't come true, or if it's just absurd they'll just die of a heart attack.
Did you even read the post you replied to?
Do I even need the instructions?
Everybody who reads even just the first volume knows they can do this.
I was always more fascinated by the mechanics of shinigami needing to kill humans, the story itself was rather boring.
Too bad they never go into it.
>tfw gf can't cook and won't do naked apron
She's voiced by Aya Hirano, what would you expect
The answer to my question was "no", thanks for playing, dumbshit.
how is "wins the lottery, dies from shock" for example not valid?
Soichiro was the only one to die non virgin
>He died a virgin
I have trouble believing that. Almost every girl he met wanted his dick, and he was manipulative as fuck, so he probably gave it to at least one of them if he thought he might get something from it.
But even that wouldn't work. How can an individual possibly know the winning lottery numbers? If that was written then the would just die via the default 40 seconds Heart attack
Tsugumi Ohba if I had any idea what he looks like.
So, Kentaro Miura
>Having a gf
Don't forget to breathe!
I can simply use a stencil and a microscope to write it all out then even flip the paper once I'm done having fun.
The only restriction you placed was how small the paper was, you didn't say anything about people who already memorized the rules.
He's too selfish to share his semen with others.
He even says at some point that he has no time for sex and shit because he needs to kill people and swim.
That final scene before Light dies is forever ruined by that swimming joke
But this is wrong, shueisha killed Death Note's ending. The mangaka are constantly pressured to continue popular series and not end them prematurely. Hell, they practically apologized for this mistake in Bakuman.
The original person to reply to you here.
You specifically stated "win the lottery repeatedly" with strong implications of that being per person, since you never identified it otherwise.
also, the death note can't give someone a lottery win, and if they don't play to begin with they would just die. If they did play it's unsure if they'd just live until they died from another cause, just die, or eventually get lucky and die.
The note can not give them the win just to kill them.
I am not the person who posted the question, stop implying things.
Regardless of any method it did not state a size for the note, it states there is enough room for one name. It is very clear in that fact. It did not state college ruled sized piece for a single name, now did it?
Stop playing games of intellect and go back to sleep.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
And I'm absolutely okay with that.
But the swimming joke was the only good thing to come from the entire second half of Death Note
Can't argue with this.
It's not bad. It's not good as the first one but it's not bad.
What about the second OP?
Wut bakuman fucking finished? I should really read the rest then
Also light was a cunt
I just find it humorous how a scene that was made to be really serious and emotional has become synonymous with that meme.
I liked Mikami, he was a fun character albeit absolutely fucking nuts. Also Mello was kind of interesting, at least to me. I'll admit the second half of the show did really decrease the quality of the show, but not to the point it was unwatchable since I was able to finish it.
That was shit, first OP is GOAT
I don't think it would, the death note can obviously manipulate the real world, getting people into accidents and what not, but I was just giving an example of how that particular scenario would work out.
not even Hitler
He only meet 3 women
The University friend
The FBI agent
He might have given the third one the duck but not the other two
I thought her death wasn't confirmed in the end of both the anime and manga.
>Just enough to write one name on and no instructions. Who do you kill?
This is going to sound cruel but Kentaro Miura, after he finished Berserk
Or perhaps that will break the Death Note
Anime or manga?
Let's not talk about that. The second op and ed were good, but it got me into this really weird J-Metal phase I wish I could erase from my, and everyone who knew me, memory.
Are you sure?
I studied Latin and this sounds like bullshit.
Whoa, why? I like his 6 or whatever part thing he's doing.
>Likes the first OP but not the second
Your taste is shit
But there is nothing wrong with the second Ending
It wasn't in the anime (still have no idea what the fuck was up with this part of the anime ending). But the manga has her die after "somebody like Matsuda" let it slip out that Light died as confirmed by volume 13 how to read
Now that in itself makes me wonder. Did it take her a year to notice her husband was missing or did she find out a month or so after and decided to wait for Valentine to kill herself
Because many (myself included) fears he will actually die before he finishes Berserk.
I'd do anything for an animated sequel so we could get another OST out of it
Best OST ever
>somebody like Matsuda
Gee.. I wonder who that could have been
And I think she found out fairly quickly after Light died and she just tried to go on but got too depressed or something.
Misa was always trouble when Light wasn't treating her right. There is no way they lived together for so long without Misa getting impatient.
Oh, man. I knew some guys like that.
A /mu/ fella?
>want to rewatch
>remember everything post-L
I'm so sorry if it was me
Never gonna on /mu/, my musical tastes would probably get people mad
This is something I would expect to hear in a fancy restaurant. Great, now I'm gonna be listening to the OST while trying to do work.
I still have no idea why he Mikami used Death Note instead of a piece of paper he could have kept in his butthole.
Alas we may never find out. Not unless they give us some extra chapters about what happened to her and Lights family after he died.
I would question why they would do that but hey anything can happen.
Please either complete redraw of anime with higher budget or new story that isn't shit
Maybe that's what this 10 year thing is, a look at the World 10 years after Kira's death.
Are they finally going to put those twenty-something episodes together in one bundle, instead of making me buy a fuck ton of dvd's with just a few episodes on each?
Don't judge me though I like owning the dvd's of stuff.
Holy shit, dat ass.
I've rewatched it a couple times and both times I dreaded getting to the second half. God, I fucking hated Near.
>Please either complete redraw of anime with higher budget
Only if the entire second arc doesn't happen.
It doesn't manipulate the world outside the kill, when someone gets hit by a car, the only thing changed its when the victim decides to walk into the street, it doesn't make the driver deliberately hit them.
I've got bad news for you.
He also met the girl who he takes to the amusement park.
I saw more or less where his plans where going till he killed L but seriously that was absolutely unnecessary.
He had the power of a god and Kira got recognition pretty fast so his 2 objectives where already doable with no need whatsoever to relpy "no you wont" to a simple detective that said "i´m gonna catch you".
His 2 objectives being "to kill every criminal in existence" and "to be acknowledged for that task as a god".
By playing L´s game he essentially said "okay L you are at my level" and "fuck it, i´ll kill any faggot that tries to get me not only criminals" but it´s alright because he is an straight AAA student...
Light you fucking moron...
If he hadnt killed then he would still be getting hunted
That'd be nice but the composer's in jail.
The composer is in jail for smoking pot. Fucking fascists.
Does that kind of thing carry a hefty jail term in Japan? I figure he would just have to pay a fine and do some community service or something then go back to work.
>1.5 grams (about 0.053 ounces) of marijuana valued at about 9,000 yen (about US$110)
Beef costs like a million dollars there, I'm guessing it's the same for weed.
Light did the judicial equivalent of whackamole.
the only real power he had was fucking with organizations. also there was no way of ensuring that what light did would be carried down without being distorted, like in Mikami's case
marijuana is expensive, yo
That second wait should've been what. I should go take a nap.
>9,000 yen (about US$110)
Jesus fuck Japan, that's bananas
You didn't study very hard, did you?
>Successor of L
>Dumber than a rock
>I should go take a nap
I was just about to nap too Anon, m-maybe we could have a club?
He didn't care. Light wanted to kill L
Nips don't tolerate drug use at all.
Righ, so enlighten me, what is the translation then, or better find me some evidence on the internet because I searched and found nothing.
Mello isnt dumb
Except for getting drunk as balls and smoking.
>4 in intelligence
haha, no thanks faggot.
why don't you just go die instead?
S-Sorry, you too.
It's like $10 a gram where I live. You could practically buy cocaine for that here.
I said I should, not that I was going to. Sorry anon, I have studying to do.
If you consider their laughable tolerance for alcohol, it's too hard to imagine their drug being so expensive. They don't need that much.
Perhaps Opium is much cheaper and commoner. It's close to the golden triangle after all
>Sorry anon, I have studying to do.
It's okay, I did my exam and quizzes for my online coursework already
And yeah, weed is cheap as fuck everywhere pretty much these days, Japan just has very draconian drug laws.
His intelligence is 7/10, are you sure you are not the dumb one?
Nevermind, I found it myself.
You see, the problem was that it doesn't seem to have the same function in my own language (or even latin), which it happens to be italian. That's very strange.
If he had done nothing to Tylor they could never have tracked him... ever.
Just think about it:
> "hey L, i got a lead... a guy in my class has a note and if he writes your name on it you die"
> "yeah, sure"
That's because they miss an enzyme.
With drugs is different.
>If you consider their laughable tolerance for alcohol
But I heard their salarymen can drink a lot
or are they just drinking the wrong stuff and need something stronger? Like Vodka?
That would indeed be a option
4 is four. Sry. Dumb as shit dude
It's a stereotype caused by the fact japs drink a lot really fast so they get smashed.
Im talking about L not Taylor. If hadnt killed L he would have been hunted forever by him
Your supposed to look at the dark part not the light one
This one's great:
7 is still dumb as fuck for L's successor
Not only that, Light was dump as fuck at so many points. If Penber would've been even slightly above the level of a complete retard he would've caught him right after that bus incident.
True but hey remember that speech Near gave? How he said both of them were inferior to L and only together could they surpass L?
It makes sense if L is a 8 and Mellow a 7 right?Makes less sense now that Near is a 10
>Light did nothing wrong.
He trusted someone
This. If you want something done right, do it yourself.
He didn't even do that for 4 years. He let his "waifu" do the killing for 4 years
She must have a very high kill count
So Light goes to nowhere after he dies
>being this ignorant
My cat could drink a jap under the table.
Some fan claims the shimigami seen in the first rewrite movie was Light. I have no idea why they claim that.
It had a very nice poster
Nowhere could be interpreted as the Shinigami world. The whole point Ryuuk dropped the Notebook was because he was bored and saw his world as nothing. Ryuuk wrote the rules in the Death Note, perhaps he wanted to warn the individual that picked it up they would suffer the same fate he did, which is sitting in the Shinigami world all day doing and not doing a thing.
In hindsight was Death Note a good anime?
All I remember from it is how edgy it was.
Before L died it was pretty good.
Then he died a bitch death and it went full retard and shit.
I felt that everything up until Yotsuba Corp. was introduced was amazing. Got boring after that.
Death Note is the reason why I watch anime, probably.
It was never "edgy".
Really? I thought the whole chasing Higuchi was easily one of the best moments of the series.
The only thing I didn't like was Near, I could stand Mello and his actions/ the raid against him, but Near was just boring.
Hindsight is 20/20 faggot.
I sided with Light. He had the nerve to change the world, even if it was through dubious methods. L just mindlessly chased Light, labeling him as the villain, without ever seriously taking into consideration what he meant to accomplish. Is killing people the ideal method? No. But I'll take that over the man clinging to the law.
Up until Light loses his memories its great, then its just alright until L dies at which point it goes full retard.
Prior to L's death - 9/10
Post L's death - 6/10
So like 8/10 as a whole
Pretty much this.
The chase scene was a magnificent piece of direction and fiction in general.
the ending pissed me off and ruined the entire show for me
If Light had lived, he would have succeeded. Those in his way were the real villains of the story.
The thing that bothered me about the second half were L clones. What was the point?
Nothing. It was Light's victory, and he was in the right. But you can't be giving kids ideas.
Pissed you off in what way?
I wanted my husbando to win.
Death Note fans, Ladies and Gentleman.
Light was basically the personification of being wrong, both on a morally and rational level. This show was probably the most pretentious shit I've watched (inb4 but I HAVE watched it). Both Light and L made so many obvious mistakes, yet were portrayed as so intelligent it was both cringewothy and hilarious.
imo they disgraced Light too much and it didn't seem like a reaction Light would have had
How old are you?
The thing is that you only think of those mistakes as obvious because you not only see the aftermath, but are also a viewer. An ordinary person would make far many more.
The moralfag, ladies and gentlemen.
>he would have succeeded
In setting up a world where he, and only he, was the supreme judge. Do away with courts, due process, liberty, because one 20 year old psychopath wants to play god and knows the way the entire world should work. Light committed crimes, he had to be punished for them. He showed that he didn't care about collateral, and even if you never hurt someone, even if you just SPOKE against him, he'd kill you. That's big brother Orwellian shit right there, and indefensible.
Light was a bad guy. There were other bad guys, sure, but he was one of them.
Your saying the manga ending was more true to characters? With him begging Ryuk not to kill him and panicking instead of running away?
I think it's a Hollywood reboot of the film adaptation.
He was shown to have a huge ego and being used to everything panning out how he wanted. His breakdown is believable, and it was quite satisfying to see his panicked expression before he was done in. The mighty light, who condemned thousands to death unable to face his own mortality. It was sweet
But he had the drive to change the world, and that was enough for me to root for him, even if he set the entire world ablaze on his way. L existed solely to put a stop to the fun.
OK. Since a shinigami dies if it kills to prolong a life, shouldn't watori's death had killed Rem?
Both Watori and L were killed to save Misa, but Rem only died after killing L. Shouldn't Watori's killing been enough and killed Rem, before she wrote in L's name?
Based on what I understood from Light's personality is that he would never reveal what his plans were or let you know that you're screwed until AFTER it has happened. I don't like either ending.
Latinfag here. It is bullshit, cum is just "with" in latin. See: Magna cum laude, with great honor.
it only takes effect after the first person dies. She wrote L's name during Watori's 40 seconds. She explained this while she was doing it.
But that's wrong. I would definitely not assume that an FBI agent, that is currently tracing some mysterious killer, that can kill people by knowing their names, would, after I basically forced him to reveal his true identity to me, not report this to his superiors. You don't need to be some genius to get to that conclusion.
The edgy kid, ladies gentleman. Of course you just ignore what I said about him being not only morally but also rationally wrong.
Yeah, it has that meaning only in English.
the second DN OP is one of the best OPs in the history of animu nigga
Are you not autistic enough to have noticed and fixed your horrible double quote? Why are you on /a/? How can you even claim to have the intelligence to have this argument against these people?
No it doesn't. Magna cum laude is a phrase taken word for word, meaning for meaning from latin and then ritualized. It still means the same thing.
I'll grant that if you want to get deep into it, it's a more nebulous concept (it can be used in special circumstance as roughly "when" for example) but the basic, common meaning is "with" and it was that way when used in original latin.
Properly explain why he's wrong on both terms, and I'll be happy to agree with you.
No, I meant it has THIS function only in english not in latin.
oh, that's stupid
I cum in your sister's ass.
Hitler was a good guy, the media made him look bad.
Hitler and Light are extremely similar. Incredibly driven and intelligent people, worthy of great respect, but going about changing the world in the world possible ways.
The guy that wanted a land war with Russia? Russia that has a massive amount of land you need to walk over? When winter was not that far away? A guy that made even Stalin say
>Nobody is stupid enough to open a second front
The guy that continued to ignore his generals when he himself was just a private. The guy that decided to invade France through Belgium where they got lucky that plan succeeded?
What "morally right" means is highly subjective. That is why there isn't any general model of it that is accepted by the majority of people. So I can only argue from my own point of view here, which is mostly based on the consequences of certain actions. Now what consequences would Lights actions realistically cause? A world without any crimes? No, that's bullshit. People who commit major crimes like murder, or rape don't do this because they think "Oh well, if I get caught I only get like 10 years in prison so it's ok". They do it because they either think that they won't be caught, or because they didn't think about the consequences in the first place. That is also why the USA, despite having the death penalty have no lower crime rate than most european nations. The only crimes that probably would be prevented significantly are minor crimes like thievery. Now you can ask yourself if you want to achieve this by killing hundreds and thousands of people, as I said before even innocent ones. If you really won't this I can't argue with you anymore.
>Why are you on /a/?
I just love the hatred.
I'm glad you've thought this out, and I mostly agree with you. That being said, I still sida with Light, because he's far more enrertaining as a character. Would I follow his footsteps? No. But I do genuinely asmire his drive and disatisfaction wirh the sratus quo, even if his solution isn't the right one.
Why does society always make evil people to be so intelligent? It's like JRPG and anime has this social indocrination agenda where intelligence and logic is frowned upon, and every logical thing would be considered edgy such as getting rid of the oldfags, criminals, and the undesirable even though they are a drain on society.
Because dumb villains have been over done to the point of being a tired cliche, so now you go in the opposite direction and intelligent villains are the flavor of the month.
When you say "oldfag" are you referring to the elderly, or are you trying to insinuate that actual oldfags are bad? Based on context you mean elderly, but this is a DN thread, and many crazy people run afoul.
If you make them just really strong you end up having power level fights.
well there are criminals that think that the worst that can happen is life in prison, however it is obvious that a significant amount of crime would end if people knew if caught they would die
misa was somewhat reliable at least. whatshisname on the other hand fucked up
courts are still useful to handle cases that light himself would find too boring to judge
I caught him, Bunk. On the wire, I caught him... And he doesn't fuckin' know it
>whatshisname on the other hand fucked up
Thats what made me hate the ending. I would have been okay with Light losing in the end, but for one of his minions to basically kill them all but doing something Light explicitly told him not to do? I'd have much preferred Light to make a mistake if he was going to lose.
So, what do guys think they'll call it?
Death Sticky Note
Death Pad 2
.... and so am I
it'll be a smartphone app this time
>That being said, I still sided with Light, because he's far more entertaining as a character.
This was basically my problem with the ending. I didn't want Light to win because I agreed with him, I wanted him to win because I really didn't like Near. He was basically just a less interesting, ridiculously and unjustifiably smug L.
I forgot how good it was because the shitty fandom.
Really. Nice writing, good characters, and pretty awesome draws.
As long as it's not another god awful Live Action movie.
i like this idea.
Light definitely fucked Misa. There's no way she would have been happy for a long as they were together without getting some regular dickings.
That's exactly what I mean. Oldfags have been shown to be a determinant to society just look at Japan the elderly make up most of the population and drain the resources.
No I mean in general. They always make the villains out to be these psychopaths that are extremely intelligent but is looked down upon like in Psycho Pass with Shougo.
I don't get does society hate smart and logical people?
They don't hate smart people. Smart people just make for more interesting antagonists.
Haven't gotten the chance to post these in years.
I don't think you grasped what I was trying to convey.
>I forgot how good it was because the shitty fandom.
That is a sad fate
She did seem happy just being around Light
Are you complaining they make the smart and logical people the kinds of people that advocate murdering all the criminals and the elderly or that they negatively portray things like killing all the old people and the criminals? Because it's not just anime and JRPGs that would consider things like that edgy.
Facebook integration for Deth makes it so much more convenient.
It has tradition, and under historic circumstances it is a sound decision. Not all societies can afford to feed and guard their criminals/elderly.
Of course that's different today, but it's a moral luxury that civilization affords us.
I'd like to see the death note in the hands of somebody who's intelligent, but lacks moral purpose. i.e. they're just doing it for the fun of competing with whatever detective's chasing them (probably near). It would basically be like telling the story from the perspective of Moriarty rather than Holmes.
Valid point. But that does only apply in settings where it's not possible or extremely unfeasible. And I used edgy because his original post, or what I assume was his post, used it.
No, I just don't get why it's considered a bad thing even if it makes sense logically. Humans advocate being educated and intelligent for the populace but when it's proven through science and statistic that say oldfags are bad to society humans revert back to their primitive ways of muh feelings.
People would consider it edgy even if it's logically sound so there is the disconnect.
>tfw no shinigami bro to play Mario Golf with
That's a stretch
You misunderstand. It is the natural state. Doing otherwise is something a society elects to do
He merely did his job in the end, anon
Yeah but he never did any bro things.
A god of death chilling around in your bedroom and playing Mario Golf with you doesn't sound like a bro thing?
He was a dick though and they never seemed to bond at all.
>He was a dick though and they never seemed to bond at all.
That's Light's fault, Light's a sociopath. Ryuk has to follow these rules and Light never made an attempt.
Ryuk was bored and wanted entertainment, so he sought it from Light, even willing to include him so long as fun was had. Light wanted a tool to use and only engaged with Ryuk to shut him up or answer his questions.
Ryuk was bro-tier, Light was that faggot friend that bums a ride to the store with you and drops an energy drink in your cart expecting you to buy it for him. Fucking prick.
>yfw the next story is about the Death Note falling into the hands of a jokester and it's a slice-of-life series about him and Ryuk broing out
He just doesn't seem like some one that would be bros with a human. He just messed with Light basically the whole time.
And the solution would have been what? Turn it into the world of Psycho Pass and Brave New World?
I always laugh when people spout muh feelings like liberty because if you think about it there is no such thing as liberty or freedom, or free will. The minute you're born you're indoctrinated and forced to do the bidding of the people around you, and if you want to kill yourself you get locked up in a crazy house.
Defeating the entire point of free will and "freedom".
It's because the shinigami is wearing Light's tie as a bandanna and is wearing the same jacket and messenger bag that Light did. Also some other vague but somewhat convincing stuff. It's just a theory though.
>He just doesn't seem like some one that would be bros with a human.
Ryuk's defining phrase is "humans are so interesting". He was very entertained by L and their group, and if you recall, when he was stuck with them having touched the Death Note, he STILL acted like a bro to them. Making snarky comments and the like. He was fun.
Couldn't Light have gotten away with the hole thing in the end by telling them that no jury would convict him and explaining that if they took justice into their own hands and killed him then they'd be just the same as Kira?
It seems to me that for such a smooth talker he really missed an opportunity. Or perhaps the point is that he wasn't thinking straight after being wrong.
He was entertained by them but if anything that would make him less likely to actually be real friends with a human. Making snarky comments and doing nothing while someone has a problem isn't being a bro. You're confusing a character being fun to him actually being a bro.
That's exactly what I want. It should be about a guy who browses 4chan and has a sick and twisted sense of humor and uses the death note to make famous people do hilarious stuff before dying.
nobody deserves to die
I dont believe light was wrong.
He was just to egomaniacal.
When some one tells me Im not god
Then I ask who is
Light was an idiot with savior of humanity complex.
What if there was a gunman with 5 hostages and he was going to kill them?
Death Note was the closest I've ever gotten to dropping an anime.
Well if it's working out for the US can't see why Light couldn't have done the same thing.
Why do people say stupid shit like this? Nobody deserves to die? Really? Plenty of people die all the time not just humans either but plants and animals. Death is a natural part of the so called thing called life.
The whole point was that they built him up to be a genius and then needed a way for him to lose. So they just have someone else mess up and Light freak out too much to fix it.
