So why do people hate Shinsen again?

Also, why's Vampire Knight so popular?

Finally, what're the shows that are likely to get ignored by subbers even though they'll probably be very good?
>>
Summary (edit): Yuki's earliest memory is of a stormy winter's night when she was attacked by a vampire...then saved by another. Ten years later, she has now grown up and is a prefect at Kurosu (or Cross) Academy with Zero, a member of a vampire hunter family who were murdered by a vampire. He "protects" Yuki because Kaname, the vampire who saved Yuki all those years ago, cannot. What the rest of the school (or rather, the Day Class) doesn't know is that the elite Night Class is actually an elite class of vampires. The prefects' job is to protect the Day Class from the Night Class. However, there's a lot of untold stories and there's more to just the 3 that we just met. Zero was the only one who survived the attack from the vampire. Why is that? Yuki remembers nothing from her past earlier than the memory from when she was 5. Did something happen? And what on earth is Kaname hiding? And what about Zero?
>>
It has vampires in it? I don't know. I've not read it.

Because it's for fangirls, just leave them alone.

They take on so many projects, drop the good ones, take forever on them, etc.
>>
I hate Shitsen because I can.

;_; Chi will not get subbed.

here's a list of shinsen's bullshit.

note the completion ratio, which currently stands at .39

also note the actually completed shows.
click on any random one.

you'll notice that not only does the anime suck, but there was most likely TWO or more OTHER fansub groups subbing it. They never sub the ones that need it.

also look at the ratings for each series.
If their quality subs passed a 6 out of 10 it would be a miracle of the universe.
>>
>>10186196

they are notorious for starting millions of projects all at once, and dropping them in the middle, they sub anime that already have 2-3 other subbers working on them
>>
>>10186286
2007-04-18 16:55 2007-05-28 21:34 Claymore 26 2 2+0 2 dropped 6.06 (22) 4

I still remember the pain I felt from that
>>
Hmm, I see. They do seem to drop series a lot, which probably is bad since it might've kept off another group which would have finished the series. In terms of quality, they don't seem bad at all, from what I've seen from them. The ratings are probably more out of hate for them than really low quality.

> there was most likely TWO or more OTHER fansub groups subbing it. They never sub the ones that need it.
Basically popularity whores then. At the same time I don't think subbers are responsible for covering every show or anything like that, so I'm neutral on this.
>>
they did a decent job on mononoke.
I dont remember anyone else faithfully subbing that.
>>
Not too knowledgeable about Fansub groups, but how is Infinite-Zero/Anime-in-Action?

Looking at the Macross Frontier at Fansubwiki, I see two of those groups are rather dodgy (lol Brief 25...for fuck's sake have you watched Macross Seiyan?)
>>
Which site is that?
>>
>>10186409

http://fansubwiki.com/Who_Subs_What:_SPRING_2008

Probably hideously inaccurate, but hey it's something.
>>
>Basically popularity whores then. At the same time I don't think subbers are responsible for covering every show or anything like that, so I'm neutral on this.

But they ARE responsible for managing their own resources.
they should realise they are wasting their time.
Similarly Star+AEN speedsubbing Bamboo blade when huzzar doremi do a good job
>>
I-Z did a good job on Wolf & Spice but released it hardsubbed. I don't know how consistent they are. AiA's sub of TTGL seemed to be decent.
>>
>>10186423

Ah, nice. And holy shit, why does all these groups insist on doing Vampire Knight. Sub something that needs subs...

Fansubwiki is usually horribly inaccurate up until the subbers start to actually sub.
>>
>>10186473
so this is why there are 20 groups doing Bleach and Naruto every week instead of working on actually good manga.
Popularitywhores who want bigger e-cocks.

This isn't the drama subbing scene, it's a free market. If people want to compete (to a certain point), I can't blame them. The only time I will bitch is when groups that can't even put out decent subs (i.e. their translation accuracy is shit) rush them out just to beat their competitors who're bothering to do the work properly. If you're in it to translate but can't even do that, then fuck off.
>>
I liked Shinsen's subs for Mononoke & Le Chevalier d'Eon, but I'll only resort to them with finished series.
>>
Didn't Shinsen-subs start asking people to rate other subbers low and their own group high on AniDB?
>>
>>10186490
ayako seems to like doing funny b-grade shows like that
>>
>>10186501
I take it you havent seen AEN subs.
>>
Somehow I never need to download any Shinsen-subs. Either I don't watch the genre they do or there are other groups who finished it.
>>
Meh, they rarely pick up any shows I am interested in.
Their Mononoke subs were good, but then I watched it after all of it was subbed.
Glad Spoonsubs picked up Kitaro.
>>
Notice how Ecllipse arent on that list?
Cause they dont waste precious time making out their territory on some fagwiki
>>
>>10186517
I watched their 7-10 I think. Shit font and Engrish, but the translation wasn't that inaccurate (I could tell what they meant, at least).

Ayako only seems to do fanservice/comedy shows. A look on their forum is enough to note the type of people they're targeting (IrishHaremOtaku for example).

>>10186507
Too bad Black-Sheep's Mononoke subs are the best subs I've ever seen and I'll give you Chevalier, 1080p rips are sweet.

Substituting the meaning and ignoring the subs? Then why would I even judge AEN? I watched carefully for ep 8 or 9 I think, and their translation was alright.

Whenever I get a package of plain M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels.

Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them breaks and splinters. That is the "loser," and I eat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round.

I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theater of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world.

Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen, or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment.

When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the strongest of the herd. Since it would make no sense to eat this one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., Hackettstown, NJ 17840-1503 U.S.A., along with a 3x5 card reading, "Please use this M&M for breeding purposes."

Whenever I get a package of fansubs, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the hobby as a species. To this end, I hold fansubber duels.

Taking two fansubs between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them breaks and splinters. That is the "loser," and I deleat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round.

I have found that, in general, the old and penisy fansubbers are tougher, and the newer fast ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the fast fansubbers as a race cannot survive long in the intense theater of competition that is the modern fansub world.

Occasionally I will get a mutation, a subber that is misshapen, or pointier, or with a stranger practice than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the fansubber extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment.
