I don't understand alll the rave about this piece of garbage. Maybe it was just too over-hyped for me. Probably one of the most boring things I've ever watched in my life. I couldn't get past episode 7, and I had to struggle to get that far. I don't get it, even the people who seem to love this show admit that it doesn't get good until episode 13. Tell me how the fuck can someone sit through 12 episodes of shit in order to get to the "good parts"? Sorry, not worth it for me. Why do people like this anime? Is there something wrong with me?
>Overrated anime that you don't know why its popular general thread
>Is there something wrong with me?
Yes. Take some Ritalin.
I actually preferred the first half over the second. Different tastes is all
dropped it after 5 episodes, mostly because Simone may be the most beta character in all anime, just behind Kohta from Kanokon.
How though? What did you enjoy about the first say, 7 episodes of S;G?
You can't have character development if the MC starts off where he's supposed to end. The first few episodes were supposed to be carried by Kamina though. If you don't like Kamina, then the whole show will be lot on you
Next you're going to tell me you dropped Monster 4 episodes in.
I liked that it set up a mystery early on, I liked that a little bit of information was revealed in every episode, felt like things were developing at a brisk pace. I enjoyed the interactions of the characters, and how goofy everything in the lab was. It didn't seem to take itself too seriously, what with a time machine microwave being the centerpiece of the show. It was just some lighthearted science shenanigans with characters I enjoyed. If you didn't like the characters, probably now something you would really get sucked in to. Again, tastes
>Overrated anime that you don't know why its popular general thread
>I don't get it therefore it's bad
It's called shit taste OP. You clearly suffer from it.
>He thinks eva was good because of religious symbols
>He still doesn't get it
Look at him. Look at this pleb and laugh
i have a gift for you
Which direction is he from my room?
I dropped it at episode 4 a few years ago and forgot all about it being so bad. I picked it back up and have made it to where kamina dies. Every episode drags out, the humor's flat, the animation is lacking, the character developments are repetitive and they barely fight. Instead they just dick around like retards for 20 minutes and finish off the enemy in the last 30 seconds.
>talking shit about Steindo;Gate
Watch to episode 13 then drop it if you want.
Thank you for the gift, not sure what your intent is however
You clearly hate fun, OP
I didn't enjoy it either. I think I actually would have enjoyed it, if I didn't know anything about it beforehand, but it was pretty hyped, and I was curious as to why a bunch of faggots on /a/ were wanting to wear lab coats and drink Dr. Pepper.
The whole eat potatoes, meat, carrots, for a girl or whatever made me rage, because a science themed show (even if its science fiction), can't get elementary school biology right. It had the feel of a SCIENCE themed show that was aimed at a stupid audience with the intention of making them feel intelligent or superior for watching it.
I don't completely hate the show, but I feel it was way overrated, and pretty cliched. The only other thing that made me rage was how the main character kept doing this over and fucking over.
>travel back in time
>talk to friends
>"What do you mean you don't remember what happened in the future/alternate timeline?!"
>doesn't get good until episode 13
It gets good at episode one
the first episode was alright. Then it's just a downhill bore-fest until it "supposedly" picks up at episode 13
Episode 13 is when the MAIN main conflict begins , but when I watched it I already enjoyed the show.
It might not be for you, I guess
but the mc and assistant make a point of mentioning to each other that there is no evidence of eating lots of veges changing baby genders, I believe it was meant to be another butterfly effect thing.
As for mc being stupid everytime he travels back in time, I think that's more to do with him having a mental break down of sorts than being actually stupid
Hahaha, this guy hasn't read the VN
If you don't like it you won't change your mind half way through the show. There's a bunch of plot points being developed throughout the entire show, if your response to what's going on is that you don't like it, it's not going to change.
13 is where it picks up, but only in the sense that everything clicks together. It's the pay-off, not the start of a new show.
>but the mc and assistant make a point of mentioning to each other that there is no evidence of eating lots of veges changing baby genders
Doesn't really matter because it works. Twice. And by the time a sperm fertilizes an egg, the gender is already determined anyway.
>As for mc being stupid everytime he travels back in time, I think that's more to do with him having a mental break down of sorts than being actually stupid
He does this repeatedly even before the whole Mayuri repeatedly dying thing. Even after the first couple of D-mails, he is repeatedly surprised every time that no one else remembers, then he keeps doing it during the Mayuri dying arc as well.
It really didn't bother me the first couple of times. It just became apparent when he kept doing it over and over, and didn't have a fucking clue that it got on my nerves.
I honestly don't think he's a horribly written character, but I am pretty sick of idiot protagonists. It makes character development pretty easy, though and beats Mary Sue/Gary Sue characters, but it also leaves room for the other characters to play other cliched stereotypes for things like exposition and such.
I'm just nitpicking and I can understand why people like the show. It was just disappointing to me because I expected more. It tried to make a story of man vs self and man vs man as a generic evil organization. I feel like the whole struggle against SERN was feeling kind of shallow, as well as the whole, let's kill the moe blob for character development, but you don't have to agree with me.
It seems to have all the components of a good show. It just didn't have likeable characters(to me at least), and didn't seem to attempt to reach beyond that, and that is why I find it disappointing.
Otaku pandering to the highest degree. Everything wrong with modern anime.
I hated the MC until he reveals his true colours. I played the VN though so maybe my experience was different.
I loved every single episode of the show, although my entertainment was probably amplified by the threads on /a/ (which went to shit around the second half of the show when its popularity skyrocketed). I then went and read the VN which I also enjoyed a lot.
If you didn't like the first half you probably won't like the rest of it, although the plot picks up significantly in the second half that won't matter if you aren't remotely invested in it right now.
I think a lot of you fuck yourselves over by letting /a/ hype you up too much.
What is the source for OP pic related?
>Even after the first couple of D-mails, he is repeatedly surprised every time that no one else remembers
That wasn't why he's surprised?
Lotto Six, first time D-Mail is used to change world lines. Obviously he's going to be shocked.
Moeka's D-Mail. Shock isn't that nobody remembers the D-Mail, but rather that nobody remembers Moeka. The D-Mail was only supposed to change the mobile model.
Ruka's D-Mail. Nothing apparently changes, so what happened? Did the word-line change? It doesn't appear as if Ruka changed genders, so why didn't they do the experiment? Confusion is fair game.
He's also shocked at the change caused by Faris' D-Mail, but that's mostly just because of the scale.
Also, the story was clearly Man Vs Fate/the world.
Well, that's your opinion.
It's completely and utterly wrong, though.
You're waifu a slut
That's a lot of implying you're doing there, fuckface.
I think the MC should have gotten it by then. He had more D-mails, and he still didn't seem to get it. MC was not an ace genius. If he was, he wouldn't have had much character development, because the brunt of it came from him experiencing failure over and over again. I just found him unlikeable.
>Also, the story was clearly Man Vs Fate/the world.
MC vs CERN seems like man vs man to me, not man vs the world. In any case, I feel like the plot with CERN and Russia (at the very end) wasn't fully fleshed out.
You can keep defending the show, but I'm not going to change my opinion. This anime just isn't for me
