I can't get into Hyouka.

The characters are too... dramatic.

This picture is the perfect example. Look at how pained he looks. Over what? An unfinished script?

Is this how people in Japan react to trivial issues?

I love KyoAni, and enjoy their shows, but this is one of their worsts IMO.

What does /a/ think?
>>
Hyouka is the most beautiful tv anime created.
>>
>TV rip
>hardsubs
Why?

2nd part is where it gets good, around episode 12 that is.

No, Ice Cream mystery is best mystery
>>
I really enjoyed it, plus it's nice to look at.
I get what you mean about characters being too dramatic but this is nothing compared to Clannad.
>>
KyoAni worshipers think this best think ever created.
>>

They do take it too seriously for it to be believable at times, but I like the fact that they are dealing with mundane mysteries and not murder or something like that. It's pretty refreshing.

I watch anime in bed before I sleep with my phone.

My phone doesn't render hi10p or whatever very well. It skips frames.

So I torrent 480p versions. They work fine.

Teenagers are always over dramatic to highschool issues that don't mean anything
>>
>>101845364
Not to this extent. No one would care this much or confront their friends over "mysteries".

The show's pretty, but that's it. The characters are hard to relate and empathize with.

For a SoL, that's extremely important. If you don't give a shit about the characters, then there's no point.
>>
>>101845531
The novels were written as mystery novels, not SoL.
>>
It's not about the script, but about their expectations of Oreki, which he didn't meet.
>>
I watched about 5 episodes of Hyouka and then dropped it. It just didn't capture my interest at all. I see people raving about how good it is but it just felt kind of stale to me.

>I can't get into Hyouka.
Well, that's a massive loss for you, then, even if you don't realize it now. It's without doubt one of the industry's masterpieces in recent years. I'd suggest trying it again in a few years, maybe you will have grown to appreciate it.
>>
>>101845120
Why does it remind me of Shakespeare?
>>
>>101845652
Well, good thing we are not talking about the novels, huh?
>>
>>101845120
Hyouka? More lie Haikyurinsomnia.
>>
>>101848491
More like Hyouka is the best and most important thing ever to be conceived and created by mankind. If anyone disagrees that person is an illiterate and unrefined pleb of the highest tier.

I'm super serious.

>implying opinion of a filthy pleb matters

It is a bit overdramatic, but SoL usually is. It didn't really bother me enough to stop watching it.
>>
>>101848744
I was simply providing a possible reason why KyoAni thought the less light hearted tone was appropriate.
>>
Overreacting to the mundane and stating the obvious is what SoL IS, OP.
>>
Kinda boring, typical KyoAni animating the shit out of everything because the rest of the story doesn't deliver.

There are better shows out there, just watch them instead

op confirmed for having been the goodie-two-shoes while in high school, with daddy's money and good grades but really a douche at heart

I was expecting to enjoy myself and watched till episode 6 but all those lame ass mysteries man.
This is the only show in years where I fell asleep.

That's it. Show's over.
Soon, dubbing will be accepted aswell.
>>
>>101852943
I was pretty much the opposite, where I believed what everyone was saying about how it was boring and the mysteries were shit.

It was kinda true until the Kanya Fest arc.

People who finished this waiting for good mysteries didn't get shit. This was 80% character focused and 20% mystery focused. I feel sort of bad saying this, but 2 fucking deep 4 you.

The problem you probably never give a quarter of fuck to is now more important than MC's virginity. That's the story, there will be people who think this is just a shitty overdramatization of course. Gotta respect whoever pulling this shit off.

Also, you should stop using real life standard on that shit. Hyouka is shit because real high school kids don't fret over the issues in Hyouka? What you're doing is thinking Dragon Ball is shit because people don't shoot lasers from hand.
>>
>>101853305
>smoking a sigaret
>shooting lasers

I'm sure there are things between that.
