I typically avoid watching Shonen Jump shows (and things similar to it), however I have been considering watching Gintama.
Is the series worth the time, and does anyone know how many episodes it will end up being?
Random, tedious, boring. If you want comedy watch J-drama.
yes and it will never stop. and i doubt it would get boring. no namek, no powerups, just laid back fun.
Get the fuck out. Gintama is awesome. Watch it.
Fail poster is fail.
It's pretty good, not like most other run of the mill shonen series. It has a bit of Japanese word play humor but not to the point of like Bobo-bo.
And it's sorta like a bunch of linked together one shots.
Fuck you. Namek in the manga was awesome. You damn teenagers and your filler anime make me rage.
If idiots like you had learned to read, you'd read the Namek arc,not watch the fillerized version.
fuckin hilarious, and the manga is 100 times funnier. either way fuckin awesome anime and manga
What other series would you compare it to?
Not everyone likes manga, deal with it. We're discussing anime in this thread, if you have nothing else relevant to the topic to say please leave.
FAIL FOR NEWFAGGOTRY.
I'm no newfag, it's appropriate here. This is serious thread.
people will bash and troll your posts.
get the fuck over it.
Gintama is terrible. For me, watching it was comparable to sticking my dick in a blender.
Don't do it.
I tried watching the first two episodes. I just got pissed off. If there is one thing I hate in anime it's Japanese screaming humor.
>Is the series worth the time
If you like a nice, witty parody anime, yes it is worth your time. By the way, skip the first two episodes (they're in a single file) because they just place you in the middle of everything, expecting you to know what's going on. You'll get lost - trust me. The real show actually starts on the third episode.
>and does anyone know how many episodes it will end up being?
76 episodes so far 50 subbed
Holy fuck, do you not have a sense of humor?
Look, it's not a serious show. It has it's heartfull moments, but most of the time it focuses on the wacky escapades of Gintoki and his agency.
It's funny. Try the manga if you're really that hesitant about trying the anime out.
Or you can just let a bunch of no taste troll faggots keep you from getting into a great series.
It's your choice.
How dare you speak to me that way. I have been nothing but polite and do not deserve this type of response.
Please leave this thread, preferably the board if you have nothing of value to add to the topic.
I don't like manga. The only real advantage I see in going for it instead of the anime is that, i'll actually get a real ending at some point.
I guess if the show is a straight up comedy, it really doesn't make that much of a difference. I really hate having a show get old and losing interest though. This pretty much pushed me over the fence to try it >>10183596
I'm watching it right now. I watch it when I have time to kill, but I doesn't make me want to marathon it.
It's pretty funny sometimes, I lol. Pretty meh other times. It's likeable. Everyone says the manga is better. I might read the manga if I ever start reading manga more.
I have never related to anything as hard as I relate to those first too frames.
Fuck, I hate having to leave the warm bed to piss. But if you try to just lay down and relax, you can't enjoy the warmth- too focused on NEED TO PISS. Its fucking lose/lose.
Your resistance only makes Anon's cock harder.
uhm, that's not correct. 50 eps are subbed, and 96 have been broadcasted so far.
Please ignore the trolls next time, guys. You make Kagura angry by responding.
Fuck you, buttlicker. You started it all. Don't talk shit about Namek asshole.
Some times it's the simple stuff that matters.
That wasn't the same person.
How do you know? U b mod/janitor?
You must be new. Namek is a meme, or at least it used to be. I typically avoid long series, so I haven't seen Namek used in a long time.
The whole Namek saga only lasted for 4 volumes. That's not much in terms of shounen. Arabasta was 5 volumes, and Skypiea 6.
Except it's in the anime that the namek arc is infamous for being dragged on.
The English subs will never, ever catch up. If you know moon or another language in which it's subbed promptly, it's not a problem, but otherwise keep this in mind.
Gintama is rather meh. It consists of overused, random, and referential jokes. So if you need something as a step above from Naruto, or a sad lonely anime nerd who needs to watch something funny while drinking beer - sure, Gintama might work for you. But it is not the most thoughts provocking or intelligent anime out there.
Nice post dude. I wish I could express myself like you.
Again, it's a meme referring to the treatment of the Namek arc in the anime.
