If you want fun without depth, then go for it.
I don't take pleasure in that, sorry.
Nihon go de manga wo yonde imasuka?
Ustede estás lendo manga em giapones?
>Just four weeks into my second semester of taking Japanese, and I understood that
Holly fuck, and I guessed on half of that sentence
Not sure how I should feel
...It took you a full semester, and four additional weeks just to be able to read a single sentence? Is moon seriously that confusing?
We haven't learned the kanji for reading, so I guessed it was 読, and I have never seen the で particle like that before, the rest I knew
so I take it the people in DJT who talk about being able to manga after about 2 months are full of it? Or maybe you're just dumb?
You'll learn differently in a class than if you teach yourself the way DJT people do.
And by that I mean you'll learn 1000x faster and better if you teach yourself the way the DJT people do.
Don't know what you're talking about. I'm just taking classes at my university
The book we're using is Genki (which I've seen mentioned before here on /a/), it's five chapters per semester
You are trolling right? A semester and 4 weeks worth of courses and you don't even know kana let alone the first kanji anybody ever learns? I don't understand how you people do this to yourself.
>you don't even know kana
>The rest I knew
> first kanji anybody ever learns
The first kanji learned were numbers, sun, moon, tree, fire, water, etc.
Nigger, what? で is part of the word, not a particle.
He probably means the で after 日本語.
The first で, not the second
So if I start DJT and put a fair amount of effort into it, it won't take me 4 months to be able to read Kana and a limited amount of Kanji like this >>101829433 dummy right?
Don't use ます form on 4chan.
That's part of kana. The various readings like ぽ or ぼ. I just don't understand how you can consider what you are doing a good pace. I finished kana in 2 days, grammar in 2 days and been doing various kanji for around a month now. I'm already playing VNs and you can't even read that shitty sentence.
like holy shit nigger what are you doin
What are you talking about?
I'm pretty sure those guys are full of it, yeah. But a lot of them have infinite amount of free time to teach themselves, well this guy is only taking a class and probably has other classes to worry about.
Does one just start learning the and memorizing kana, or is there like context you need to understand it?
Start watching Jeremy's fucking Japanese lessons on Youtube. His handwriting is shit, but you will learn.
I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I know what で is, I just never seen the で particle used like that in that context
Think of it as the equivalent to the english alphabet. You need to know all of it. Memorize if you have to.
You can cram kana in a day or two and then read a few things and never forget them. Read through a quick grammar quide like Tae Kim in one or two sittings then reinforce it by reading. Then cram kanji/jukugo, I learned twenty a day. This whole time read/listen to shit in japanese. That's all you need.
>Are you reading manga in Japanese?
>I didn't read [manga in Japanese].
It hurts to read these...
Wrong fucking form.
feel the pain. enjoy it
So I just start learning it, alright cool. I've kind of been in a shitty situation lately where my only access to the internet is my phone, so I haven't been able fully utilize all the resources of DJT and the rest of the internet. I wasn't sure if there was some sort of background info I needed on them before I started.
Enjoy anons using awkward Japanese? I don't know that form of masochism.
Stop using masu form. It's fucking stupid on 4chan.
but, I love talking respectfully... anonさん
I bet you also use 私 as well, you faggot.
So itd be better to say : 読まない?
Serious question.. seriously
superior 俺 reporting in
of course みんあさん
B-but I want to be the polite shy little girl.
>anything but あたし
It depends on how you want to answer.
読まない is "I don't read."
Use 僕 if you are a 外人. The bitches love it.
みんな － 皆
I hope you mean あたくし.
If you want to sound trans, go right ahead.
＞Use 僕 if you are a 外人. The bitches love it. [/spolier]
Really? Why is that lol? Ive always thought that its improper to use it and the only way to not come off as rude if your a 外人 is to refer to yourself as 私
Fucking no one uses 私 outside of formal situations. It sounds weird to a native speaker. Most men use 俺 and 僕. For some reason women like foreigners that use 僕. Don't ask me why, I'm neither a woman, nor Japanese. I spent a year there though and it was fucking drilled into my skull.
Really? I always thought that using 僕 or 俺 is only for friends or family. so a 外人 coming over there and using 俺 or 僕 would be extremely rude
'boku' is childish and is only used by adolescents and younger, adults attempting to humble themselves in front of a superior, or girls trying to be 'cute' and tomboyish.
>implying it's not cute
ドウンと ユース ポライト スピチュ オン フォーチャン
>>Are you reading manga in Japanese?
That's not what the OP says all it says is "Reading manga in japanese?"
"Are you" is understood.
I think "anata wa" was implied.
So without 私 and 僕 I'm left with 俺? I thought that was pretty informal.
Just use whatever you're comfortable with. I don't think it makes that big of a difference unless you use something like 俺様.
If you want to act like Gary fucking Oak then it's okay to use that.
私 girly polite
僕 cute boys
俺 tough guy informal/slight rude
1.If those mangas are not translated, there is no other choice for you.
2.To avoid misreading and mistranslation, you'd better read those original mangas.
It's like you don't want to be the little girl.
