Whoa, I did not expect HunterXHunter to actually be good. So unpredictable.
Lets have a HxH thread.
Lets. I finished all available manga couple of hours ago. Now I somehow understand at least a bit of your pain, guys. Kurapika is forgotten forever, isn't he?
And all we get are fucking doodles on toilet paper.
338 was absolute bullshit but the last 2 were normal. And there's no more, I'd say "We don't even get the fucking doodles on toilet paper", which is saddening.
Togashi hates us and his work.
Then he should've stopped. Is he pressed by publisher to work further?
Paku best woman
Please, Shizuku da best. That nose though.
I heard the chimera ant arc was bad. Is this true?
But it's by togashi, why wouldn't it be good? I don't understand.
It's actually the best one.
At the time, yeah. It took so many years and so many hiatus' to finish that it was difficult to enjoy. But reading it all in one go changes most peoples opinions, it's pretty good.
At first glance it looks like ass.
Nah, that did happen when he was working on YuYu Hakusho. But the contract he signed for his work on HxH basically gives him god powers. He writes what he wants how he wants when he wants.
So he wants to tell the story but too lazy to do it. Too bad. And he just began new arc, what a waste.
Save me Mayhem.
Actually pretty bummed out that these two won't be together after the Chairman Election arc. Not for bullshit shipping reasons, but because they have basically the perfect friendship.
I know a guy who said he didn't like the art style, therefore he didn't want to read. But now my supervisor at work can't get enough as well as other people I work with.
>mfw talking about Pitou instead of working
If it weren't for the decent art style, I would easily believe that's an actual page of the manga.
Also backgrounds. Togashi almost never does backgrounds.
But that art style looks like shit, he can do faces better than that at least.
I just mai waifu to be relevant again. Or for the fucking series to continue, even if it was the fucking ball-point doodles. DQ isn't even that good Togashi you hack.
It had a decent ending, just pretend the last chapter never happened. Everyone wants dark continent arc but what if it's crap? You'll wish he never went of hiatus.
What do you mean? I'm right here anon.
Decent ending? Loose ends and unresolved shit everywhere.
Leorio and Kurapika will never be relevant again
Main goal of the series is complete, good enough for me.
Leorio is one of the most interesting characters since he's the most human. I'm not exactly sick of Gon, but I just want others to have more time in the spotlight. Feitan related.
there's simply too much for any author to handle at this point, togashi has bitten off far more than he can chew. especially with neverending hiatus' and a (respectable) dedication to giving each arc the time it deserves.
and to hear now that everything we've seen in the world is just the barest tip of the iceberg, it doesn't really make sense to me. i don't want to call it a shark jump, but it really feels like a shark jump.
Too bad Hunter x Hunter turned into Gon x Killua pretty much after Yorkshin.
And your quest ended now, you will go to the shadows and will never be remembered again. ;_;
I don't fucking get how killua knew what dragon dive was, but didn't know what nen was before being trained, how is that possible?
What are you talking about you dumb slut? He has tons more eyes to recover, and he still hasn't committed suicide by fighting the full troupe yet.
no figmas ever
We only know so much about his household. He knew Alluka's power, but he didn't know about nen. Same with Illumi. I'm sure his grandpa said "hey kids check this out" but didn't explain how it worked in detail.
I think it would be completely fitting for him to just go an hero and Gon finds out like 2 months later.
Because it's possible he had heard stories from his family members about what it looks like. He's a fairly intelligent kid, so he probably just put two and two together.
Which one is better, the original or the remake?
>kurapika almost looks happy that his eyes got torn out
when i first started this series i was so sure that he was going to be revealed as a reverse trap or something, and end up as the background eye candy character who commentated basically just commented on gon's progress.
fucking hell, being kurapika truly is suffering, it really was a shock to see him become a rage fueled monster. if kurapika's character design had been a big burly guy instead of an extremely effeminate trap, i don't think it would have changed his character one bit.
The remake is widely regarded as the better version.
The hell you talking about, that would change him dramatically.
What's the story behind that pic? April fools?
How, exactly? The only situation it would change is when he crossdressed to hide from the troupe. Aside from that, there would be no difference.
Introduction, conversations, feel and impact, the weapon and powers, impression on other characters. Everything would be different. Plus, crossdressing scene. Character design plays huge part on behavior/traits and vice versa.
Movie hype. Pixiv artists are great at emulating Togashi. There's plenty for Last Mission too but I don't bother to save it.
i don't see it. no one really treated kurapika like a weakling even though he looked like one. no one comments on his effeminacy or small stature. if you're saying that he would look different because the character looks different, fucking duh.
>no one comments on his effeminacy or small stature.
Chrollo and Leorio do. Also, in their world, only the weak and idiots judge by appearances. Kalluto's just a 10 year old boy in drag but no one so far has looked down on him aside from the Ant he killed.
Same reason they took almost an hour to break a wall in the Hunter Exam instead of Killua just punching it.
But Killua actually stated that he was ignorant of nen. It wasn't just him playing around.
You have a point. He could have just pushed the wall and they could have walked down the path.
Hisoka isn't husbando material. He'd leave you for the next strong little boy to walk past while on a date.
What's up with all the traps in this series?
though to be honest it's difficult to tell which characters are traps and which ones aren't. translators love to fuck with us in this series, too many characters have been referred to as both him/her or he/she.
Togashi being Togashi.
i don't get it, i just don't fucking get it. why not complete the phantom troupe arc? why introduce dozens of new characters and start off on another journey so big it might as well be another manga entirely? so many loose ends, fucking hell...
I hated it in the manga but I'm loving it in the anime.
i love it because of pitou
A while, my ass.
He became a boss of underworld gangsters?
Togashi will never continue this. We should just give up. The closest we'll get to anything new will be the movies and I think there's 2 more (not including Last Mission) left. I'd be happy with filler but without Togashi or the people that did 99's filler it may just feel empty. Kite and Ging's backstory was alright, but not even close to shipwreck island.
Does the shitty narration in the chimera ant arc ever end? Feels like everything suddenly decided to just go in slowmotion while the narrator has to describe every single little detail of what's happening.
It's starting to ruin my opinion on the arc, it was great up until Gon and Killua finish their training/fights with Shoot and Knuckle, but then everything just gets drawn out and everyone has to spend 3 episodes explaining their power and every little thought they have.
I just want to see Gon and Pitou fight and the king and the girl, I don't give two shits about these other shitty royal guards.
It's one episode per chapter. Multiple things happening ridiculously fast. Last 4 episodes were ~2 minutes of real time, maybe even less. It's supposed to be like that. In manga there was a timer to show how much time has passed. And for good 20 chapters it was there, counting down, like, 7.5 minutes. Narration and slowmotion will end soon. I'll give it 3-4 more episodes.
>Last 4 episodes were ~2 minutes of real time, maybe even less. It's supposed to be like that. In manga there was a timer to show how much time has passed.
That actually sounds kind of cool and like it would work in a manga, too bad that doesn't work in an anime episode that's 20 minutes long.
And according to the wiki the latest episodes are still adapted at the 2 1/2 chapters per episode like the rest of the show mostly does, haven't read the manga though.
The 99 anime had it's shining moments, and the color scheme overall was superior in my opinion, but in every other aspect the remake dwarfs it.
Maybe he saw the attack, but couldn't comprehend how nen was even involved in it. He must have thought, that it was magic or that his grandpa was special. It's possible that he was plain ignorant because he was too inexperienced.
Togashi got carte blanche by Jump for being harassed to milk YYH back in the day, he simply doesn't give a fuck anymore due age and creativity fatigue.
I can understand him, he's in this business for decades now, but I'd love to see if he handed HxH to another promising, young artist to keep going.
Genetic modification is avaiable in HxH's world, so we can only assume that both Kalluto and Alluka were born with dicks but got them swapped for vagoos some time later due their mom wanting some daughters.
Killua/Gon is the reason I (sparingly) read shota yaoi.
>another promising, young artist
He stubbornly insists that anyone else would ruin his ideas. But, the 1 person I could see doing this series right would be Yoko Taro. Just look up Drakengard or Nier if you don't know him. I find their styles to be similar given that neither do things the stereotypical way.
Who's your favorite hunter?
Illumi. Best yandere bro.
