/a/, in retrospect, can you really justify having this show be made?
Why did you bring this piece of shit into existence? Because tomoko is a 4chins level otaku like you? The manga was mediocre enough. But you had to get the nips to make an animu adaptation. The show isn't even fucking good, and the kind of people who like it are fucking dreadful- the worst kind of normalscum imaginable.
Why not use your powers for good, like having Japan make nichijou s2 or shin great mazinger instead of getting them to adapt shitty manga?
Nice thread OP
Since when does /a/ hold any power over what gets made, 99% of us will never pay for our anime in a form that they take notice of
/a/ was the reason watamote got adapted
Do we have any proof to go with that bold statement?
The manga was unpopular as shit until /a/nons picked it up and bought many physical copies once available (as did /v/ when they caught on). The author became aware of us and we interacted with her on twitter or something I wasn't really involved. Eventually the copies on sale in Japan came with a sign on the cover saying something like "Popular on a western site similar to 2ch!" which lead to an influx of Jap readers (Those familiar with 2ch and 4chan) which lead to the eventual adaptation.
Not really proof I guess but that's how the tale goes.
We don't have power over anything, though. Go be upset at the studio that made this instead.
Except that the adaption was actually decent. You could easily tell Silver Link put a good amount of thought in what they did.
Because Tomoko is a cutie.
I like it, bought the Manga and BD and will buy merch when out. Sorry for you shit taste OP.
The author personally said 4chan was in large part responsible for its popularity.
I think you're undervaluing /a/. This place, and 4chan in general, is extremely huge and influential and not as much of a sekrit club as we want to think.
>is extremely huge and influential
Get several hundred people to a about a thousand to spend about 5 bucks on a copy of a manga(some people several copies) isn't that much power friend. It was just too boost sales enough to keep it from going under after the first volume was published. If we really had as much "power" as you say we do we'd have a lot more shows then just one being made as a result of our actions. And watamote even being made into an anime was freak chance.
>If we really had as much "power" as you say we do we'd have a lot more shows then just one being made as a result of our actions
4chan does have that power. It's just a rare thing for anons to get together and actually do something, but when they do, stuff happens.
>I think you're undervaluing /a/. This place, and 4chan in general, is extremely huge and influential and not as much of a sekrit club as we want to think.
No it isn't. I can sometimes understand /co/ being deluded enough into thinking they play some major part on what gets made and fed to the public, but that's bullshit. One minor story about 4chan playing a part in something doesn't mean squat. Stuff made in Japan is made for Japanese people, nerds on the other side of the globe taking a liking to it is inconsequential.
> Stuff made in Japan is made for Japanese people
To be fair I think that 4chan had a relatively decent impact on the translation happening.
>One minor story about 4chan playing a part in something doesn't mean squat.
/co/ got trolled into thinking Ben Affleck visited them.
Not surprised, but western comic creators have been on there several times. And altho shit like 'the adventure time crew are making episodes to pander to our ships' is utter crap, it's still a lot less deluded than an /a/non thinking they're apart of some specific demographic for their fav animu or mango.
>/a/, in retrospect, can you really justify having this show be made?
the op alone justifies it's existence
>Why not use your powers for good, like having Japan make nichijou s2
that doesn't make any sense, op
>4chins level otaku
nigg u sound mad
Nice post, OP. I think I'll go and download this series now.
