I managed to survive the entire anime /a/
It was amazing, Rin is cute as fuck and this whole thing made me want to get a child
Can we have a thread about it?
I would have loved watching it as it aired with /a/, I'm sure the threads were greats
It was great, until people learned about the ending of the manga
>Can we have a thread about it?
she grows up and fucks daikichi
I loved the way it followed a average Jap dude with a child, like with the detailled house and the different customs of raising childrens
The drama was surprisingly light
I don't think I've been more buttblasted over a Manga ending ever, however the anime was 9.5/10
Might be the only Josei anime I've seen.
I'm still mad today.. I thought it was a troll but the horror is real.
faggots get upset that they fuck
I regret making this thread
I also am afraid too look up the ending
I'm not even mad. People told me to not read the manga and I didn't.
If you haven't read the manga, its like fanfiction to you. You can just ignore it.
Same reason Darker than Black is great in my eyes. I've never seen S2 or Child abusing hei.
be a man and read all of the manga
I already regret asking, but they what now?
Do not ruin the series for yourself by reading the Manga like I did.
it's not like dtb was ever good
>Hating season 1 DtB
It was pretty good. I especially liked Armistice day.
it was just a cowboy bebop without the humor
She realizes she lovestory her daiddy and everyone is absolutely okay with it, daikichi is conflicted until she turned 18 and they fuck
everyone should just pretend daikichi fucks that hot milf
>It was amazing, Rin is cute as fuck and this whole thing made me want to get a child
>this whole thing made me want to get a child
>get a child
Only true ending
Just don't read the manga.
I think the Manga's ending was good and as happy as the Animes ending. Regardless of the personal morals people keep projecting, I thought it was sweet way to end it since Rin and Daikichi are as happy as they can be together. I also think extra Vol gave a really nice epilogue for everyone too.
It was sick and if you disagree you're a problem.
Now that I think about it, is fucking dude who are in age of being your dad a genetic thing among the fucked up manga artist family?
After all the emotional investment in the father-daughter relationship, and after getting used to the touching SoL with a hint of plot, for it to turn into a high school romance drama was a plainly bad move.
Never discuss a finished series on /a/ if you haven't finished it for you will quickly be spoiled
For some reason I'm really glad someone thought of drawing a scene where a kid catches them.
The fact that it's drawn so well tells me someone put a lot of love and effort into it.
I don't really care since I finished the anime
It's hard to read and enjoy what is a great Father/Daughter manga and watch it turn into a creepy romance manga. The girl was practically his daughter and he fucked her. That's disturbing and makes you wonder what he'll be like with whatever children they have
Did we ever find out who her father really was?
>It was sick and if you disagree you're a problem.
Meh. I thought it was justified given Daikichi had no ill intention and never did.
I played a cg , the plot
Is similar and really epic xD
himawari no kyoukai to nagai natsuyasumi
This. It's a heartfelt lovestory all the way through, just different kinds of love.
People who flip out over the ending don't understand Daikichi's character.
When he started watching over Rin he questioned EVERY single decision in his life about if it was good for her or not.
His job, personal life, his house, friends, everything.
So chapter after chapter, it's Daikichi going to whatever length is necessary to make her happy.
Even when he was confronted about Rin about it, he was hesitant and waited until last minute to make his "decision". Which could hardly have been a decision at all because he's already given Rin everything he possibly could. The next most logical step is giving himself.
He gave up that perfect milf for his perfect daughteru.
Only a fool would disagree with that choice.
The lines of "You were a prize that's unattainable" or something along those lines was really heartwarming to me as well and kinda represented their relationship pretty well I thought. I still liked everything that happened in the end just because they seemed so happy in the final chapter.
I don't care about >muh morals. But it just goes against what I felt this series was entirely about, and honestly it is one of my favourite series. The father-daughter relationship is essentially what makes this anime. I hate that the manga should have to ruin it.
You are right !! It's a really nice love story something else that no one really can understand ... But still also creepy hahaha
Also nice ... Creepily nice !!! Ahahahah
>I don't care about >muh morals
Can't really see how it isn't about this in the end, even if you say that. Daikichi and Rin are raiseing a child to be as happy now as Rin was being raised by him.
Rin was raised happily by Daikichi and wants another child to raise to continue the process of raising someone to be happy. Hell, she wants to be a daycare employe just because she wants to help raise as many children as she can. I honestly think that kind of epilogue fits really well into the "Pass down your happiness" theme the manga and anime both have.
I can agree on the whole high school romance kinda being the low point of the manga but I still found the epilogue sweet just because of how it I felt it fit with a lot of the other things.
Why are you posting like that?
I do feel bad for the people who read the manga and ended up hating everything because of it.
I think it's an amazing love story regardless of the daughter/father relationship, but I understand why people don't like it.
I just think that it all makes sense from Daikichi's point of view.
He's sacrificed everything for Rin, he can sacrifice the daughter that he sees in her, with the woman that she turned into if that means it will make her happy.
Hmm... I see. I guess you have a point there. I'm not completely convinced/satisfied though. I should try going through the series again sometime.
Well watching the anime I was expecting Daikichi to end up with the hot mom and Rin to grow up and marry the annoying brat
Speaking as a single father, I felt it was lazy writing.
I thought it was cheap controversy, and an attempt to avoid tackling the true nature of fatherhood.
Better would have been an ending where Daikichi has to come to terms with allowing Rin to live her own life.
Also, for Rin to discover herself without seeing herself in terms of her relationship with Daikichi or whoever else, a true 'coming of age' for her.
>manga spends multiple chapters building up relationships between rin and boy and daikichi and milf
>Lol last chapter Uwaaa I want you Daikichii
>Daikichi freaks out, rejects Rin
>Very last page, "I guess I have no choice but to make you happy"
It felt like a forced controversial ending.
Oh well of course it was lazy writing.
It was by a chick with some father issues. The ending definitely resonates differently with everyone.
However, everyone should read it at least halfway because the art is fucking adorable all the way through
Back to the fatherhood part, I'm sure there's another series out there that tackles it better. At least the struggles you suggested.
>the art is fucking adorable all the way through
Everything before the timeskip is great
>Back to the fatherhood part, I'm sure there's another series out there that tackles it better
Would be very interested in that, any suggestions?
I full-heartedly agree with this, the story could have been so much more if it focused on the normal progression in a father-daughter relationship. You don't have to reach far for nice drama if you're a single father with a teenage daughter.
there's "my girl", but the story doesn't go into her teenager-years.
I knew about the ending before the anime release,in fact,i only picked the manga to read that end,it was glorious.Imagine my face when i saw that Usagi drop got an animated series.
I bet Woody Allen loves Usagi Drop
Fatherly instincts pandering shit!
>not raising your waifu to have a delicious devoted Christmas Cake for midlife crisis
Beta moralfaggots really going to bitch about incest that isn't even blood related?
As an asspull I can understand, but anything else is just whining.
do they REALLY fuck, or do they simply become lovers and it's only implied?
>>not raising your waifu to have a delicious devoted Christmas Cake for midlife crisis
Felt guilty, but this is what I was thinking the entire time while reading the manga and absolutely loving it.
she wants to bear his child, take an elaborated guess how they are going to make one
No, she's a used goods slut.
They call the stork.
This anon knows his shit.
Go and read the manga.
What's the problem? Best girl ended with best guy.
NTR-faggots please go.
Making time-skip continuation was a dumb move. Lose-lose situation.
She ends up with one of the guys. People get mad because they are faggots, she is too good for them and Daikichi would be all alone.
She ends up with Daikichi. People get mad because they had the most touching father-daughter relationships in anime/manga and turning it in love relationships doesn't seem right. And muh morals.
Author screwed up. If she wanted so much to make Woody Allen story she should make separate manga
One of the rare instances where the anime adaptation is much better than the manga?
It sure is
Most memorable track of the show
SWEET DROPS SWEET DROOPPPS
