OK, Lelouch's king is covered by something, so that's why the Black King doesn't also check (and Kings can check when covered here).
But what's with the Black Pawn? It doesn't check, so it's probably the White side. Maybe pawns here are like pawns in Jetan and are limited to moving sideways when they reached the other side, with no promotion. Or there is a Basilisk like piece on Lelouch's side that covers that field and stuns the pawn.
