So I just finished A Certain Scientific Railgun this morning when I found out about the Magical Index Series. I figured out they were made by different people and I'm just wondering if its gonna be disappointing after watching Railgun first.
Index is the grander part of the story. Some people like it more, some dont. It has Accel, so it is worth a watch.
>watching the spin-off before the main series
Depends, do you like Touma?
Which one did you watch? Index has more stuff happening, but you'd do better to read the novels.
Why in the fuck did you watch Railgun before Index?
Well, unlike in Railgun there's no Nagai Space in Index since they had more than enough material to adapt from.
>most of the spin-off is prequel and doesnt even feature one of the major factions
I dont see a problem.
Probably because Mikoto is more qt than Index
Index is way better anon. Watch both Index seasons and then read the LN.
>Watching Railgun before Index
>not reading the Railgun manga instead then watching the first arc of the first season and up to episode 16 of S and picking up the Index LNs
I found railgun by accident on a /w/ thread, I didnt know about Index untill I was almost done with Railgun
Normally you would have a point. Normally...
You must have found Touma incredibly confusing...
What did you think of Fren/da?
What's your opinion of Saten, OP?
You're not implying that NAGAI SPACE is better than rushed seasons, are you?
Watching anything in this series is kind of a poor idea, the adaptions are pretty awful.
Read the Railgun manga and Index LN.
The girl seemed utterly bewildered, but Kamijou paid her no heed.
He casually reached out his right hand and touched her upper body with his palm as if he was giving her a shove.
More accurately, he touched the center of the girl’s chest.
“Yes, yes, I’ll destroy that illusion. IDTI, IDTI.”
“Don’t make some nonsensical abbreviation! And where do you think you’re touching me!?”
“C’mon, it’s not like I want to touch something like this!!”
“Something like this…!!!???”
“Don’t go to the pointless effort of making it feel so real. How do you do that anyway?”
“Th-th-these are not pads!!”
Mikoto was left trembling on the spot with an expression distorted by various emotions and her entire body turned beet red.
Kamijou ignored her and started to leave.
I was trying to post all my other Othinus images but I got a duplicate file error every time. That was the only one that I could post.
I didnt think much of it, I just figured he was some character that came out of nowhere to shed more light on misaka's personallity, they didnt really reference anything to my knollege, but looking back there were a few things that were never explained
That's because they got posted in the Raildex Thread.
Well for one thing, the Touma from the first season of Railgun is dead.
You sound as dense as a harem MC
Yeah I know. Followed the link after that.
Watch Railgun S. Its good until the director goes fanfiction ego stroking.
Oh man, you missed out.
is she in the Index series? I dunno, I found her to be pretty generic along with Uiharu, but I still enjoyed them, you see a lot of their type is shoujos
And just think: NT10 Touma is probably going to be even more alpha as fuck than ever
Nah, she's almost entirely Railgun only.
Most people hate her because Nagai pushes her on everyone and distorts logic so she can be useful. The one from the manga and LN is fine, it's just the anime-only one people hate.
Railgun is a fairly straight adaptation of a manga. I'm sure you noticed a lot of filler about the cute girls being cute, that is in there because the director is a faggot who wishes Saten was real.
Index tries to cram a bunch of novels into each season, meaning that pacing is out the window and you have no time to get attached to anyone or anything, exposition is the name of the game, and Touma's speeches are a lot worse than they (probably) should be. Apparently the novels are better, but I'm not sure they fix Touma's insufferable moralfaggotry.
What do you think of touma saving Misaka instead of her friends? Do you like Touma?
as far as the anime goes, Index II>Railgun>Index>Railgun S
but the magic side didn't really have anything you could follow; world ending threat after world ending threat
world building is great, thanks to science
I dunno, I kinda liked how they made it like a half in half shoujo/shounin mix. Kinda like kill la kill if they didnt fight ALL the time
Touma's moralfaggotry is better in the LN, though it can still be annoying. His thought process at least is explained much better.
It's easier to take in hindsight, since pretty much everything in the new series of Index, NT, has had Touma's morals shit on and subverted by everyone, and in general everyone is now Touma's Archer. NT Touma is a deconstruction of Touma's original moralfaggotry basically.
>not liking Touman's moral lectures
You're not living your life properly.
Index Movie > Railgun S > Index II > Index > Railgun
Its all opinions though.
Index > Index II
You watched both seasons of Railgun, right?
What exactly do you even like this series for? Cute girls doing cute things?
>It bothers me
That line is still depressing as fuck.
>has had Touma's morals shit on and subverted by everyone
But he's still the guy who "saves everyone in front of him". Even Othinus joined his harem.
Didn't save Bersi, or alot of those soldiers. And NT 9 basically has him place himself above everyone else.
I have not watched Index II but Railgun S is the best anything this franchise has offered to me. By which I mean the first 16 episodes.
either way, I still had to supress a laugh when Touma beat the crap out of Accelerator while he cowered in fear
guess what guise
It's okay anon, it's over now. No more tears, only dreams now.
Guise you have to guess
Otherwise i'm gonna keep cutting it off
If you had a right hand that coulkd negate shit and could actually save people, wouldn't you do the same?
I don't get why people sight "moralfaggotry" as a negative thing. I mean, there is morally stupid shit, sure. But how the living dick is being a good person considered bad to people? Seriously, the moment I see that shit typed, I instantly imagine that you're some edgy 13 year old that draws pentagrams on their binders and only like shows like Elfin Lied.
Until there is nothing left of her
This is now a Touma Appreciation Thread.
could* ; cite*
fuck me, I need to go to bed.
Is Touma lamenting the fact that he'd be useless in a world without suffering?
Like how he'd be very irrelevant in a slice of life?
>I just wanted to wake up in my doem, make food for Index etc.
Very contradicting, Touma.
Fuck, half of the fights in this franchise make me laugh out loud with their stupidity. Its part of why I enjoyed it.
Think people point it out with Touma because it's his main thing he does.
It's fine with me personally though, it's handled fine and the author messes with the premise of it enough to keep it interesting. Having half the powers in this series literally powered by insanity, and the other half populated by extremists really helps it fit.
Slice of Life is the shittiest of shit genre but Railgun had a nice balance to it
except when the slut brigade are all gathered together, say something, and smiles all around; cringe inducing
Railgun S fucked it up (a whole episode buying a rice cooker)
anime Kazakiri is irritating, that whole last arc of Index 1 was bleh
she is worse than self loathing bakemono MCs
He's lamenting the fact that Othinus created a perfect world where everyone was saved in a way Touma never could, and then made it so if Touma didn't kill himself, it'd all come crashing down. He became the evil that causes everyone's suffering.
Othinus threw him into a world where the whole world was out to kill him and other worlds where he wasn't need or existed, and then one where EVERYONE had been saved, something he could never hope to accomplish. All he wanted was to make friends.
>She stole everything from me!
I felt so fucking bad for him the first time I read that part. The fact that Touma's saying that of people...
Watching accelerator get shot in the head made all the bullshit in index worth it.
Except the bodyswapping beach episodes that I want to bleach from my memory because it was so retarded.
I didnt like the end arc that much either, but it was worth it to see Misaka railgun with a mech torso
Don't bother watching Index, watch this and then read the Index LN and Railgun manga.
He saw countless worlds and experienced countless forms of despair.
Some clearly cornered Kamijou Touma and attempted to crush him. Strange false accusations were forced onto him and a noose was put around his neck. He was stranded on a mountain with some acquaintances and he was forced to distribute his flesh to the others so they could survive until rescue arrived. He was lying unable to move on a hospital bed and was simply stuck like that all the way to his funeral. He was buried in humus and began to decompose while still alive, starting with the ends of the arms and legs. Earth was rendered unlivable and he was thrown into outer space to wander aimlessly in a capsule-like spaceship. As a puny human, he was destroyed by a giant robot or an asteroid.
The heart had no actual form, but Kamijou clearly felt his breaking. It was not being destroyed as if struck by a hammer or sliced in two by a sword. It was a quiet destruction as if termites had eaten into it and it was too late by the time the symptoms began to show.
He just wanted to finish his homework...
He should've died, he turns into such a faggot after that.
>Except the bodyswapping beach episodes that I want to bleach from my memory because it was so retarded.
Surprise, it was also one of the arcs JC Staff took huge liberties with in first season.
>Thread about anime
>topic about anime
>autistic Raildexfags start spamming LN quotes and discussion out of nowhere
You mean he stops being so edgy?
Touma didn't save Bersi but he did what he did.
>Just a normal boy. He cannot solve any and all problems, and I doubt he can stop Baggage City from being destroyed by the Kiharas and GREMLIN. But on the other hand, he has a way of saving each and every person he sets his eyes on.
Kind of inevitable.
The anime literally makes no sense without the LN or Manga.
I like how Nagai ignored the fact that Raildex Teleportation conserves momentum. Or the fact that they wouldnt be able to breathe that far up.
This looks pretty forced. What's the deal?
He ignored lots of things anon.
Like how when Mikoto tried something similar in LAC, the jet she fired only went a few hundred feet up and didn't even break the speed of sound.
Othinus was trying to break him into suicide to get rid of Imagine Breaker.
Basically, Othinus needed to get rid of IB, and if she just kills Touma, IB will just go somewhere else. So she tries to mentally break him. Either he'll become useless and it won't matter if he has IB, or he'll kill himself, and killing himself will permanently destroy IB.
No, he's still edgy, but then gets called out when he was thinking of going edgier and put in his place.
>Just a normal boy.
>has a way of saving each and every person he sets his eyes on.
Oh boy, character shilling ahoy.
"I like this show, I wanna make a thread about this show." I was a little sad when they 404d that thread, it was the first thread I made with over 100 posts and nobody called me a faggot. Just sayin because Im sure some of you where there
He's just a normal high school boy, anon. Even a normal magician could beat him.
Only in Raildex would people actually get mad for discussing source material.
And on top of that, he's asking shit related to the novels (ie, Touma's "moralfaggotry")
You need to accept the fact that anime discussion naturally segways into source material discussion.
Funny thing is, he was wrong.
>suiciding get rids of IB
It does sound pretty forced.
whatever, Im torn guys, I got so wrapped up in the railgun series, I dont really want to stop watching it, but judging from ep 1 of the index series, it doesnt seem very similar at all.
That's one thing I like about Raildex. Sure, it has longwinded expositions ahoy, but so much of that exposition is either misguided or flat-out wrong and the reader's left to imagine what's really going on.
Fuck off tumblr.
>English Civil War
Will the exposition in this series ever actually be true?
Touma is so full of shit.
I wanna see Touma weaving in and out of an ultra intense all on one boss rush, consoling every one.
>I-it was just luck, you'll get me next time
>Oh, you mustn't be feeling well, or I'da never have landed that punch
>It's not like I'm really good enough to negate all your shit. You must be going easy on me.
>I'm just a normal high school boy.
tumblrs a shit, I know, but they always seem to have gifs I can use...
Give it a chance anon. You should read the novels anyway. And the Railgun manga.
Index has alot less SoL in general. Or rather the SoL is kind of mixed in with everything else.
Basically fits in with that we were told before about it. IB having different vessels, having a meaning in the right hand being connected to Touma's right shoulder, it still being connected to Touma even after being cut off, etc.
Plus True Will stuff from Thelema and shit. And there's enough Thelema clues in this series to make a wiccan piss their pants.
What does the CY stand for?
If you like Railgun and Index isn't your thing, that's fine.
Just don't make threads calling Raildexfags autistic, bitch about plot armor from the non-Misaka mains, call for the excising of the magic side from the series, spam Frodo threads about Kuroko/Uiharu/Saten taking on Accelerator without Touma's help, etc. You will get ridiculed and shit on with a fervor matched only by the general /a/ populace for Naruto threads.
I made that mistake once...
It's a word anon.
It's "normalcy", anon.
Not him, but you're pretty damn autistic to be getting mad over ellipses
That says normalcy, anon.
Index is LN Naruto. If you dislike chuuni characters and powerlevels don't bother.
Yeah, people have different tastes. Raildex fandom is surprisingly okay with people not liking their stuff as long as you don't bitch about it.
Holy fuck I'm retarded. Blind too. Thanks anons.
Oh boy, Naruto-comparison guy. I thought you had died or something. How are you, you adorable little faggot?
Alright kind anons, Ill give it a chance, and Ill consider picking up those novels and such if I have the time. I suppose you can continue you Touma thread, Ill hang around
They spend like half an episode of season 2 on accel doing evil laughs while killing swat team soldiers from the shadows. Also he won't shut up about his "dark past". Who gives a shit. I miss when he was just a dick.
You're the one who is trying too hard to play it as forced.
Accelerator and his darkness spouting is hilarious.
Everyone compares Index to Naruto moron. Don't be deluded into thinking it was just one person.
Ha. I can finally post her now.
If you dislike chuuni characters and powerlevels then why you watch anime?
Go watch a soap opera instead.
I haven't seen anyone compare it to naruto in a long, long time. An coincidentally, you have the exact same writing style as the normal ONE faggot that compares it to Naruto.
Do I need to get the Unlucky.jpg?
If I can find it...
Where are my Othinus and Will-tan?
Yeah, you're delusional. A simple google search shows people all over the internet that have compared Naruto to Index.
looks like our queen is victorious
It's probably going to sound retarded but the closest thing I've found to Raildex is Mahouka and StB.
I still haven't read the manga, being the titanic faggot I am.
>ONE faggot that compares it to Naruto
Jesus you faggots are insufferable.
Where is Othinus you faggot?
They aren't in the manga anon.
Well, Will kind of is...
On /a/ retard. Nobody cares about what shit like Narutoforumshit thinks. They compare everything to naruto
You are the one in this thread right now, and don't be deluded into thinking you are a person.
You are a maggot who keeps coming back to crawl into the pile of something you call shit.
>those post times
Please guys, don't respond to shit-posting, it's not worth it.
Instead, let's talk about how that one Amakusa chick is getting her limbs chopped off in the SS.
At least now we know you can use google search.
Read it faggot. You're missing out.
Thanks anon. Saved.
Can we stop shitposting and appreciate the most underrated girl?
keep spreading the good word for all raildex shitposters to see
Does anyone else miss the Dragon Rider suit?
Those things are awesome. And they're fucking patrol bikes. Imagine Anti-Skill zipping around on those.
I know. I will.
Personally not a fan of the spinoff. It might as well be any all girl series SoL with just a bit of action added in.
It's currently got a GunhaxTouma team-up going on in the manga.
>But now that you mention it, I do have a very strong boner for the Misaka Sisters.
Doesn't the yellow-blue contrast annoy you or hurt your eyes?
Don't we all?
Especially after NT 9...
Having gone through the main novels and most of the sidestories, I need some incentive to read the Amakusa SS. To me, the Amakusa gang have just been kind of... there, not really interesting. It doesn't help that they feature prominently in two of the worst arcs (Book of the Law and Ice Fleets).
Will-tan is best grill
Will actually reminded me of a mother. She could outright make Touma do what she wanted, but instead chose to help him find the answer himself.
Don't really know who that is.
But it Touma is barely even relevant in it, and the lesbian loli is my least favorite character in the whole series, at least from what was animated, and she's a main character in Railgun. Even though Misaka's my favorite, I don't really wanna watch a anime where 5-6 girls are all the main characters,
index 1 had a lot of western gothic word spam as filler
the teacher antagonist from railgun 1 was pretty cool
There isn't much of an incentive, it's not a relevant arc. Hell, it's the parts are just released alongside BDs as a kind of gift.
The guy Ollerus wrecks, the 7th level 5.
Gunha is the guy who punches telekinetic explosions that aren't actually telekinetic at all. Think super hot blooded Touma. The best Level 5.
>Lowest ranked level 0
>Lowest ranked level 5
I-I just want to see that smile again...
>both ranks are deceptive as fuck
He did smile though anon, in NT 9.
When his entire body but some of his torso, arm, and head was blown off.
You know she'll destroy it the first time she uses it.
Washing Machine-kun is strong, he can handle it.
>Implying Washing Machine-kun isn't tough enough
Whirlpool Devs pls go.
“Agh! If it’s not one thing, it’s another!!”
Kanzaki stood up and ran out of the dining hall.
She didn’t know exactly where the scream had come from, but she knew the general direction, so she intently ran down the hallway.
She spotted Agnese Sanctis sitting on the floor outside the changing room.
As Kanzaki approached, Agnese pointed towards the changing room while still sitting down.
“Th-the washing machine… The washing machine…”
An unpleasant noise came from Kanzaki’s temple when she heard Agnese’s broken up words.
It was that washing machine again.
It had caused a problem before breakfast and now it was causing another one before the previous one could be dealt with.
Her head was full of thoughts on the war and people saying she had fallen in love and now it was the washing machine again.
(Is that thing really some detestable high-tech AI spy sent by Academy City!? I can’t imagine it would cause this many problems otherwise!!)
Kanzaki entered the changing room with enough intensity that she felt she would simply chop the thing in two with Shichiten Shichitou if it caused any more problems.
The bath was a large type that was rarely seen in the West and the changing room was large as well. She knew the washing machine should be in a corner of the changing room along with a scale.
She turned her gaze in that direction.
Academy City’s useless piece of trash of a washing machine that had taken the color out of her yukata’s obi and malfunctioned while washing a futon was…
Making a loud washing noise.
It was properly washing the futon that had been stuffed inside it.
Kanzaki had trouble breathing.
The washing machine was sold as being quiet, so it was irregular for it to be making this much noise. That meant that it was forcing itself to move. It was over its designed maximum load and had been ordered to go through an operation far from its normal operating environment. Even so, it had endured and endured and endured and was finally carrying out its task of washing an entire futon.
All strength left Kanzaki’s body and she fell to her knees on the changing room floor.
Her feelings of anger had turned to ones of raging embarrassment.
(I was just reflecting on my own immaturity, and now this…)
That washing machine had had a giant futon there was no way it could wash stuffed inside of it, had nevertheless had its switch turned on, and had Kanzaki give up on it and leave. And yet it had been working on its own the entire time since. It had endured the pain and suffering continuing to do what it should and it had finally accomplished its supposedly impossible task. And yet she had been about ready to cut it in two…
The washing machine said nothing.
Its AI had no conversation functionality, so that was obvious.
But Kanzaki Kaori heard it nonetheless.
She heard the voice of the washing machine.
“Kanzaki-san. I did it.”
“~ ~ ~ ~!!”
Tears welled up in the corners of her eyes.
No words came to her. She merely threw Shichiten Shichitou aside and embraced the square body of the washing machine like it was a long-lost family member.
It contains Cthulu.
Now read it. Or do the smart thing and wait for every part to be out so you dont suffer a few month wait.
I have read all of the Index main story volumes, but none of the side-stories. Are they worth reading? I also still haven't watched the movie.
The hero Raildex deserves.
You actually skipped SS1 and 2?
>Not reading Norse Mythology and SP
Get the fuck on it, nigga
No, not these. I should have explained better. Everything under NT at BT I have not read.
Side stories are awesome. The Index SP collection contains a bunch of little stories about various characters, but all of them are great and it actually shows Stiyl not being useless for once.
Norse Mythology is about Kanzaki, a wise cracking Jeans Shop Owner and a cute Tour Guide Girl going on adventures against various norse themed enemies. A lot of stuff here plays into NT and Gremlin's plot.
Road to Endymion wasn't the greatest, but it was still pretty fun. It doesn't really have much to do with the movie other than showing Endymion's construction.
The two Railgun ones are basically just Railgun manga arcs but with a heavy dose of magic-side stuff in them. LAC is pretty great but SMD is all over the place.
Amakusa SS isn't finished so I haven't read it.
The two short ones are good too. Fanfare is about Kiharas, Gunha and Mikoto doing esper things and fighting, and it's written by the Buccano author (although it is canon). Love Letter SS is a really short story and it's pretty funny. Haven't read the PSP game one.
All the parody stories are god-tier. Read them.
Can computer programs get high while writing?
/a/, I'm trying to hate Misaka but all I can imagine is myself hugging her. How can I fix this?
Ok anon I will. What about the movie? It's non-canon filler I assume?
Ah. Well, Norse Mythology introduced Brunhild and Gungir, and SP introduced Birdway.
Think about her fucking pigs and enjoying it
Holy shit it worked, thanks Anon.
Oh I see. Thanks.
More Birdway is always welcome. Thanks to you too.
Since you haven't seen the movie you probably don't know their names, but that part in NT9 when Saten and Uiharu were talking about a girl named Arisa, that Arisa is the heroine of the movie.
It's canon, but it's basically just idol pandering. Nothing really important, but it looks nice and some of the battles are cool. The Index-tan that goes with it is fucking hilarious though.
It was written by Kamachi but it was so long it could have been a 2 cour anime, so they cut all of that down to 90 minutes for a movie.
Kamachi REALLY loves writing.
No, the movie was written by Kamachi and referenced in the LNs. Its canon.
>With bluish-white sparks flying from her bangs, she said, “First you leave me behind at Hawaii, then you suddenly grope my chest when we meet again, and now you’re flirting with some girl like it’s a normal thing! Do you never think about explaining anything or apologizing for anything!?”
>As she shouted, she fired a lightning spear and Kamijou Touma collapsed to the side.
>The blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl standing next to him shook her head and said something in French.
>“Life is always a sudden thing. It is possible it could end right here. But I think it is only fair that I get a bit angry if such a coincidence occurred. This is my precious clue leading to Gremlin.”
>“Huh!? What was that? You usually block it so easily…geh!? You’ve been shot in the stomach!? Why didn’t you say so!?”
>As he lay collapsed and convulsing on the ground due to her much too unreasonable demand, Kamijou asked one thing of Mikoto.
>He asked her to translate for him since he did not understand French.
How do you think the Parody Novels were written?
Don't try to hate anon. Try to love.
That just makes me love Touma more though.
Birdway and Mark also pop up in Norse Mythology for some comic relief.
Alright I know what I'm doing today After Crusader King 2. Have a nice day anons.
Oh, how I miss the TouMAN.
I'm not fond of either. Touma gets unbelievably lucky during fights and Misaka tries too hard to be good. When she shot down that alien blob, all she had to say was "try again". She thinks she's so cool, I was rooting for the villains because nothing can stop the tsundere Pikachu.
Seriously, whatever happened to that guy? That shit was genius.
>I watched the anime.
>that Inami beat-down sequence
Have you no other excuse than read the LNs?
And Railgun manga.
Touma's fights are all explained well in the LN.
Mikoto telling them to "try again" is anime-only. All she does in the manga is tell it that it shouldn't steal people's realities and to go back to where it belongs.
Trying again is worthless anyways in this series.
>Tries too hard to be good
You've been watching the anime.
You know how Mikoto railguns those robbers in the first episode because they hit Saten?
In the manga, she did that because they spilled her fucking ice cream.
Level 5s are sociopaths, it's Nagai that made her like that.
What character is this referencing? I tried looking up blind characters, Shoe, Zapatos, etc and I can't find shit.
Hes right. If you're talking about the anime you're talking about a completely different character, its that bad.
And then she locked some russian bitch in a room with exploding oranges packed full of hungry soldier ants that would have eaten her alive just so she could get a little info out of her. All while mocking her and acting like she was enjoying it to freak her out to the point where she was clawing at the door and her hands were bleeding.
Misaka is scary when she's mad.
I dunno mang. I don't really like them from the anime, why would I like them otherwise? Saten and Kongou are the only girls in Railgun I wasn't annoyed by.
Angel fetus isn't an alien.
Epic Touman meme bro I was LMFAO.
Brb uploading these to reddit.
I knew you guys were cancerous but not to this extent.
>Saten and Kongou are the only girls in Railgun I wasn't annoyed by.
Tou-fucking-che, you cheeky cunt.
>Nagai Saten, who is his waifu and gets shoehorned into everything, distorting the plot.
>Nagai Kongou, whose intro is completely changed, making her lose all sympathy
I think I see the problem anon, you just have shit taste.
It was a bluff. There were no ants in that orange.
Well Kongou in the manga is completely different from her anime counterpart.
Nagai (the railgun anime director) fucked with the personalities of the characters because he wanted them to be a 4girl group of BFFs. In reality, they aren't very close and Saten has her own group of friends who she is much closer with.
Fuck you, those are fun. I wish there were more of them.
That doesn't change the fact that she was mentally torturing that girl though.
And afterwards she took a punch from her without trying to block or dodge it because she knew she deserved it.
Get fucked, those were actually funny.
But this isn't the general
>I wish there were more of them.
>AIDS sword (seriously are we 13?)
>Le random cursing and funnay descriptions
Go back to Narutoforums, Gaia or Animesuki.
I can't wait for Railgun D to replace Uiharu with Saten during the scene with Mitori holding her and Misuzu hostage.
Well, it's 2 in the morning where I'm at, and I've had this exact same discussion about 10 million times with anons exactly like you in past threads. So, Ill keep it brief.
You are watching a JC Staff anime. You know, the same people who made the Tsukihime anime. They are a studio that is notoriously bad as properly adapting things. Furthermore, there are very, very, VERY few anime that actually properly adapt LNs near perfectly in the first place.
For Index (second season), JC Staff thought it would be a great idea to cram 7.5 NOVELS into a 24 episode season by slicing out almost all of the inner monologues and general exposition that is crucial to the plot, but decided to leave all the fanservice scenes completely intact. Because fuck the story or explaining how Touma fights the way he fights (the anime leads you to believe he is a moron who just blindly charges at the enemy).
For Railgun, they thought it was a really cool idea to radically change character personalities and motivations (and in Saten's case, give her a C cup and 10 times the screen time). And completely rewrite certain scenes. And completely fuck up the timeline on multiple occasions. And mess up basic power mechanics (teleportation CONSERVES MOMENTUM, Railguns ARE NOT DBZ KI BEAMS) And add god awful filler that features a completely normal girl beating up mechs with a baseball bat.
So, without going into anything about the Light Novel content, you tell me. Or not. i'm going to bed. If you still need convincing, look up a few Railgun threads on the archive.
Fuck it, I think I'll just stay away from this series from now on.
I don't even know where I should tell you to back to.
Welcome to Nagai Space
Not very brief, but eh.
>look at me mom, I'm trying to fit in
Let me point you to >>101779874
It would be better to no post those stupid TouMAN images anymore.
They're unfunny and they attract shitposters.
>Going to get Lucky Charms
It's the subtle shit that kills me.
He's no MC of the century, just a normal guy with a special hand.
In all my times I ever posted them, this is the first time anyone got asspained over them. I think YOU are the problem. Regardless, I'm going to post whatever the fuck I like, k?
Just don't reply to him.
Back to reddit.
Reposting another anon's words when that chapter got translated
>I wonder how Komoe, Aogami and Fukiyose would react if they learned that, in another world, they tried to murder Touma.
>I wonder how they'd act when they learned that in another world, they lived in blissful ignorance while Touma was getting ready to kill himself in order to maintain that bliss?
you're making your own life so much harder anon
>Doesn't get what AIDS reference
I see; you're intensely retarded. Good to know.
>anything but Yotsuba B
>not Yotsuba B
No sir, I dont like it.
>using anything but Yotsuba B
You a ricer, anon?
Personally, I wouldn't call her a sociopath. But I still agree that she is insane. This is the way I always looked at the lot of them.
Accel - Sociopath & Dependent
Kakine- Sociopath & narcissist
Biri - Obsessive, Inability to back down from a fight, Emotionally retarded, No-self value
Mugino - Obsessive and a Sociopath
Misaki - I honestly cant place her. She has trouble trusting others but that may be more to do with what she sees in people.
GUTS - TOO MUCH GUTS
Anyway, since this was originally a Railgun thread, I'll share some Railgun MADs.
Misaki also doesn't give even a little bit of a shit about Mikoto dying.
And I wouldn't say Mikoto has no-self value, she seems to think highly of herself in general. It's being indirectly rejected by Touma that makes her feel worthless (especially in volume 5).
But what about Pierce?
Anyway, since this was originally a Railgun thread, I'll share some Railgun MADs.
Does that make Touma the Level 6 of insanity?
She lost a lot of her self-worth as a Level 5 after realizing how meaningless that title is and how powerless she is overall.
The title of the #3 means nothing to her now.
Why do you think he's able to get along with the Level 5s, whom are demonstrably fucked in the head?
I always think that way because of her interactions during and after the Sister's incidents.
She blames herself for all of their deaths. Heck, when she was planning on killing herself in one move to end the experiment, the vibe I got from it was that she just wanted the emotional pain to stop.
Her talk with the TouMan on the bridge really highlights how she sees herself.
"“After seeing that, were you worried about me? Or could you not forgive me?” she said
in her oddly bright voice.
Not sure if I'd call it insanity, but Misaki is prone to using her powers for petty reasons and with a disregard for the victims.
beetleKakine is the most sane if he counts.
>Not sure if I'd call it insanity, but Misaki is prone to using her powers for petty reasons and with a disregard for the victims.
That's a lack of empathy or something, I'm pretty sure that's being a psycho
Tomorrow for maximum late nights
>But then he heard the scream of a cute girl.
Kamijou and Touya both turned in the direction of the scream.
>Black smoke was rising from a building a short distance away. The relatively unfortunate girl named Itsuwa was waving her hands from a fifth floor window and shouting for help.
>The flag-raising father and son fell silent.
Touya slowly loosened his tie and spoke to his son without looking away from the burning building.
>“Touma, you know what we must do, don’t you?”
>“Hah. Do you really have to ask?”
>Kamijou held out his right fist, Touya held out his fist, and they lightly bumped them together. They had already left Abandoned Misaka and Pet Misaka behind.
>And then the Kamijou father and son spoke in unison.
>“Okay!! Let’s risk our lives to save a girl!!”
Why are Kamijous so based?
I want to know more about TouDads adventure with gemstone girl.
The TouMAN and the TouDAD together.
I can't take all this epicness.
Yeah, but mind control powers have a LOT of potential for abuse.
Does Misaki in particular have a mental problem, or is her power just so tempting that any normal person would end up with the same or even worse behavior given the opportunity?
I hope the new powerchart will do justice to the power of the T and place TouMAN and TouDAD on the top, where they belong.
That can be said for all lvl5's.
Where's this from?
NT5 or 6
>This never happened in the show
Fuck. I mean, I was looking forward to it too.
Why does Nagai hate Touma so much?
Not to that extent. A regular person is likely to abuse mind control in everyday life than a power that can very easily kill someone if they aren't careful.
Lets say you want to cut in line at a busy hotdog stand.
>vector control: you shove everyone aside and someone inevitably breaks their arm punching you, everyone hates you
>dark matter: you flap everyone aside with razor sharp wings that could crush a car, everyone hates you and laughs at your silly wings
>electricity: you zap everyone aside, ruining their phones, everyone hates you
>meltdowner: if you use your powers in any conceivable way, everyone will hate you
>GUTS: BLOW EVERYONE AWAY WITH GUTS, everyone still hates you
>mental out: press button, receive hotdog, no one even knows you cut in line
What are the more important volumes.
I read up to 7 and got bored.
Should I just watch the anime from here, or is there more character exposition stuff that I'll miss out on in the rest of the volumes?
You'll miss out on a lot if you just watch the anime
The LN gets a lot more interesting around Volume 12
Index is super interesting.
implying Pierce is just a mere Level 5.
He's the real final boss.
>The Kamijou father and son had charged into the burning building.
>The one waiting for them was Aogami Pierce.
>“Mwa ha ha ha ha! Did you never find it odd that I was content with the position I had been given!?”
>Laura and Aleister lay thoroughly beaten at his feet
>And he explained the entirety of his master plan.
Oh for the fucking 1000th time.
Looking at that scene, the atmosphere color, cloud shadows, and general size of the city, they can't be higher up than 15 km or so. Otherwise there'd be no orange air friction trail from the railgun too. Further, entering a low pressure environment isn't lethal. Just by pure falling by gravity they should be able to get low enough fast enough again to not suffocate from lack of oxygen.
Look, there are plenty of things to be criticized, but this part wasn't _that_ unrealistic.
I really want to see what Kamachi thinks of the Silent Party arc.
The artist for the index manga seems like he wants to draw creatures and magical shit more than anything
I liked his Innocentius, though.
I think that's why him and the Accel guy were chosen.
Index manga's artist knows how to draw occult shit like Innocentius.
Accel manga's artist knows a thing or two about drawing mechs, which is a convenient skill to have when you're doing a manga about the Science Side.
It gets a little better later
Lets be fair about this, the index artist got a shit load better in general but his innocentius made kamachi cream himself
>I really want to see what Kamachi thinks of the Silent Party arc
Trick or Treat.jpg
Main issue with Index manga's artist is he suffers from a severe case of sameface.
Let's see if Accel manga can avoid that issue. As long as he keeps drawing, he'll probably keep improving, at least.
Official Ranking for Index related content in English:
Railgun S Episode 24 > LNs Translated by js06 > Railgun Manga > Railgun S Episodes 1-16 > LNs not translated by js06 > Index Anime > Railgun Anime > Index II Anime > Railgun S Nagaispace arc (excl. ep 24)
No, he dies sometime after the level upper arc
Touma is not a moralfag, his speeches are a weapon.
He doesn't actually believe what he says after he dies the first time.
>Except the bodyswapping beach episodes that I want to bleach from my memory because it was so retarded
It's much better in the LNs.
All you really need to remember is that the TouDAD accidentally summoned an angel and that angel fucks shit up.
Nah, that's pretty dumb.
Frankly, the only part of that volume I really liked was Touma's conversation with his dad. The rest wasn't that great.
That serial killer thing was so pointless. I don't blame JC Staff for leaving it out.
>The guy Ollerus wrecks
That's not a nice description.
Read that SS where she meets Lessar and she turns out to be a sadistic cunt.
>not just summoning a beetle and letting steal a hot dog without anyone noticing
Tsuchimikado wrecking Touma is one of my favorite parts of Season 1
It holds a lot less meaning when there was no real reason for that to happen in the first place.
That seems to be a running theme with Tsuchimikado. A lot of the stuff he does turns out to be pretty pointless, even when he's serious.
The serial killer himself wasn't that important, but there was a good deal of character development and explanations during the hunt.
>leave out scene explaining why most magicians act unprofessional
>"WHY DON'T THEY JUST X"
It would have been easy to throw something like that in without the serial killer.
For instance, Touma could have asked Tsuchimikado something like "So how are we supposed to deal with this Angel Fall thing anyway? You guys do have a plan, right?" And Tsuchimikado could respond something like "Of course not".
That could easily result in the same conversation.
>No real reason
The fuck are you talking about?
If he didn't kick Touma's ass then the guy was sure to try and mess up his spell, and if that happened the world ends
What about anon trying to be Touman one?
Tsuchimikado could have easily hidden from Touma and performed the spell where he wasn't looking. There was no reason to carry on with that pointless ruse.
He was supposed to make sure Touma wasn't going to run back to Kanzaki
It's still pretty pointless when you look at the grand scheme of things.
Touma's right hand would have simply sent Gabriel back to Heaven. No harm done.
No one knew that before though
And how pray tell would Touma approach Motherfucking Angel Gabriel, huh?
Bitch was stomping Kanzaki, and Kanzaki didn't want Touma to touch her since she was afraid he'd end up killing her, since she doesn't know if it'll send her to heaven
Then again, no one knew that the Night Parade would have destroyed Lidvia's plot either. Still doesn't make it any less pointless.
When you get right down to it, Touma and Touya got beat up, Tsuchimikado burst a vessel and his parents' house got destroyed for pretty much nothing.
Eh, I wouldn't call her a sociopath.
I like how raildex shows Academy city and how the people behave in it. People aren't perfect, and Mikoto is a perfect example of this.
For all her life until the events of index/railgun begin, she's basically been peerless. However, she also enjoys a (usually on friendly terms) fight and finds value in them. She's not the person to back away from a challenge, her ridiculous power has become a part of her personality causing her. Which is why Touma annoys her so, he keeps winning from her, but then shrugging it off like it's nothing which hurts Mikoto's pride a lot. Then of course the sister arc basically stamps any sense being powerful, and with that her self-worth into the ground. Culminating on the bridge scene where she tries to act like how she would've acted normally, but in the end just crashes completely. Finished by Touma saying he'll fight for her and the sisters.
From this point Mikoto's personality has actually changed a lot. She doesn't show it on the outside often, but she feels a lot more responsible for the people around her. This gets even worse after she learned what had happened to Touma.
Eventually during NT this has evolved so far that she's saying things which would fit Touma himself perfectly.
>"I don’t know or care about any of those big picture issues. To be honest, I have no good reason to be fighting here. You don’t need a good reason to save a friend. If you want to save them, then save them."
And the world didn't end, and a serial killer was sent back to prison
Gabriel's entire body was vulnerable to Imagine Breaker. If Gabriel shot its wings at him, he could just negate them. Depending on how those wings work, just touching them might have destroyed Gabriel's container and immediately sent it back to Heaven.
He only needed one touch to do it in Vol22.
The world wouldn't have ended if Touma simply managed to touch Gabriel just once.
Serial killer getting sent back to prison's nice and all, but that's completely unrelated to the destruction of Touma's house.
Does anyone havet an updated powelvl chart?
We never saw where he touched in 22, and unlike that Gabriel, this one wasn't just a big blob of Telesma, and you're assuming he can even react to Gabriel's attacks, Gabriel is at the very least Saint class in speed, and this Touma is still pretty sucky compared to how he is by the time of NT
There is something very wrong with LO here.
I think Unlucky was working on it
I don't think the comparison is that valid because it would've taken actual effort to get the other resolution of Touma beating Gabriel
Daihaseisai's arc would've been completely fine if no one had done anything
Does anyone have the latest one then?
For all they knew touching Gabriel would completely wipe it out of existence and fuck everything up even worse, so they picked the safer option. There was no safer option in 22.
Well everything ended up okay in Daihasei because they found out that the Stab Sword was actually the Croce di Pietro, without that info, then Crowley would have never suddenly put a fireworks show at the exact right time
>TOO MUCH GUTS
>implying there is such thing like "too much GUTS"
It seems like you need a polite punch in your face, anon.
You're implying Crowley didn't know about it the whole time. The guy was at the peak of the world of magic at one point. He'd probably know all about the Croce di Pietro and Stab Sword.
He does at one point of the arc imply that he might make a personal appearance though, which makes it seem like he didn't know that he wasn't in any danger
Or maybe that was an anime-only scene I honestly forget
He didn't the mere fact that he suddenly changed the time of the fireworks show, shows that
Crowley's keikakus work on the fact that he's really fucking good at improvising in the face of new information, well as long as things are still on the rails anyway
He's an everythingcon, that's fucked up enough.
>killing himself will permanently destroy IB
No it won't. And Othinus needed IB in the first place to get back her original world. She just wanted to break Touma so he wouldn't oppose her when she would need to use IB.
It's something much simpler than that.
The subconscious desire for someone to understand her was probably the main thing that kept her from killing Touma. Touma was the current owner of Imagine Breaker. In a sense, he was her anti-thesis. And a lot of Gremlin's operations were dedicated to countering him. She even came out of her way to appear in Baggage City even though she had no reason to do so. She could have easily killed Touma at any time and transferred his power to another container. Once she became Magic God, she could have even chosen the container herself, simply by removing every other object and creating something for it to transfer into. Instead, she just kept coming up with excuse after excuse to not kill him.
Furthermore, her behavior concerning him was rather strange. She kept telling him how worthless he is, she put so much effort into getting him to self-destruct. If she truly thought of him as nothing, she wouldn't have bothered saying so so much. You don't tell a pebble how meaningless it is to you, do you? It's a meaningless gesture.
Something about him must have intrigued her on a subconscious level. That's why she gave him so much attention. Maybe the reason was something simple. Maybe she was just very slightly intrigued by this boy who was apparently chosen by Imagine Breaker. Maybe she had a slight interest in why Imagine Breaker would choose him of all people. It could have been something that shallow. But regardless, on some small level, she did not want this boy to die just yet. That's why she kept making excuses and repeatedly failed to kill him.
That's what I think.
She thought of him as nothing more than a container for IB at first because she was set on taking back her old world. She needed IB to do that. Touma will not go along with her plans because he too wanted his old world back. That's the entire point of the perfect world: to show him a world that's not only leagues better than the old world, but also has no place for him. That way, he loses the will to keep on fighting.
She's in love with him, that's all.
Would Touma dying in Othinus's arms count as the third death?
I like how the hotdog Orsola is eating in the perfect world is the one that Mikoto and Touma eats back in August 31 and is Touma's "last meal" before trying to commit suicide.
It should be the second, since he didn't actually die back in WW3, and he came back good as new right in the next novel
They excised the serial killer, but left everything else intact. I've seen the anime arc and read the novel several times. The serial killer served no purpose but to serve as a red herring to artificially extend the story. And don't use the excuse that we don't learn about Touma's past. Touya goes into great detail about it even in the anime. The only thing wrong with Angel Fall is they didn't have the budget to do the final battle justice. The homunculus in Deep Blood was red herring fluff too, but it's a better example to use since Touma had a certain degree of character development in that scene. You can't say that about the serial killer subplot. Any intelligent director would have cut that shit.
No you wont. But watch Railgun S first, then start with Index series.
>Kuroko moving up in the poll
A lot of early Index was red herrings and shaggy dog stories.
Even though Hino was only a red herring to the plot, I still did enjoy seeing how freaked out Touma was the whole time against an ordinary serial killer, as well as that gas trick.
Threadly reminder that Touma is a mass murderer who has committed mass genocide in a universal scale.
Not so sure about that. Haven't heard fukou da in a while.
If nothing else, I remember there was a Frodo who asked why someone didn't come at Touma with a poisoned knife.
Or, you know, A FIREARM. Seriously. Just cap dat nigga's ass.
Can anyone please explain to me how this entire magic system of Index works?
I get that most of it is basically like christian communion, but I don't understand how mana or saints would fit in there at all.
Both of these things have happened.
Then how is he still alive? It's impossible to miss that huge spiky head.
Because people who have access to firearms and are willing to use them can't really do a thing to Touma, because then Aleister will step in and fuck them up for fucking up his plan.
Once he got saved by an angel and the other time he got sent to a hospital
Misha saved him from Hino and sucked out the poison.
They called in an ambulance after he got shot.
That's LN material, right? Shit, I'm downloading it right after this post.
Read NT2, shit's too long to explain, but as far as Saints go, Saints are humans that are so similar to the Son of God that their bodies do Idol Theory, and Jesus in the Raildex verse is basically Superman
Volume 4 is the poison knife
NT6 is the firearm
He also had guns pointed at him during vol 12
SS1 as well but he used a shield
Couldn't you just manipulate your body with surgery to be a saint, why aren't magicians doing that?
Watch Railgun S first, Sisters arc is much better in than in Index
They could do that with Valkyries though those experiments were stopped, they probably don't know what makes a person like Jesus yet, since Kanzaki is different from Acqua, is different from Brunhilde is different from Silvia
Yeah, I know. I just remember facepalming when I saw that question and thinking, "Not cutting out Jinsaku would have at least answered that one. Oh, well."
Then the guy admitted that he skimmed through the magic arcs just to get to Misaka and Accelerator.
Probably a consequence of the magic-science side treaties. People do not like mixing magic and science in general, and the magic side would really not be a fan of the science side investigating magic side things.
Sorry but murricans are far away.
That would pretty much be the same as creating artificial Gemstones, which are only possible because Aiwass told Aleister how to.
Hot coffee > guns.
Grenades > Hot coffee
It is when LAC demonstrated Misaka can't make huge objects go that fast.
Watch most of railgun
Ignore all else
Read the printed materials
This is how you do Ingun
Why is Academy City such a shithole? You have rape gangs as far as the eye can see, and a plot to destroy the entire city or kill thousands multiple times a year. Holy fuck.
>Watch most of Railgun
>Making him watch extremely forgettable characters try to be relevant
The only thing worthwhile there is Sisters arc
>Rape gangs as far as the eye can see
That shit is only in the city's dark side, most of what people see is the sparkly clean stuff
Because the city is insane.
I mean it's an explicit thing. Accel realizes it in 20.
In broad daylight you have groups of 5 guys cornering girls against walls and shit. This is off of main roads.
To be fair, the mixcoatl was wood coated in iron sand while the mech was actually a solid hunk of (mostly) metal.
I don't know if she could make it fast enough to behave like her coins, but it does make sense for a mech to handle much higher speeds than the jury rigged aztec canoe.
Even in normal Japan this kind of shit happens at least in manga
It's the time for the MC to shine
Which scene, only thing which sounds similar to that is the thugs cornering Misaka, which happened at night
The mech should be heavier though, and the weight was the reason it didn't go very far.
If anything it should have gone slower.
>Where did you get that segway?
>You mean Sleipnir?
>You named it!?
To be fair that thing was only covered with a tiny amount of iron sand just enough to cover it. That's hardly demonstrating that she can't make huge objects fly fast.
The acceleration of a railgun scales with the current and magnetic field through it normally. Putting any kind of current through a thin layer of metal would melt it quite quickly since the resistance is inverse to the cross-sectional area. This would therefore limit the power of her railgun by a lot simply because the layer of metal would evaporate easily. Simple back of the hand analysis would say that this would limit the power a lot more than the weight of the object.
Also, let's get math in the picture for the actual speed of the LAC railgun.
According to the text, the object was accelerated diagonally and then left to gravity at an altitude of about 200 m. It disappeared over the horizon.
Now for simpleness sake, lets assume she wanted to get it away from the isle as soon as possible, launching it quite low with a maximum altitude of 1 km. For a flat sea surface, the horizon should easily be at 10 km. This means that the object would've been in the air for sqrt(alt*2/10)*2 ~= 28 sec.
To travel 10 km in 28 sec you'd have to go at 380 m/s which is still above the speed of sound.
Now just think of what velocity she could send an object which is not largely dumb mass and instead fully conductive.
It isn't that far-fetched.
Is that an actual translation?
Not that guy, but yes.
what's so special about episode 24?
>I don't know if she could make it fast enough to behave like her coins
It's outright stated that she cannot.
Why does anyone send their children to Academy City? Your child leaves home at a young age, you barely see them more than once or twice a year, they'll have weird science shit shoved into their brains by a bunch of cartoon mad scientists, they can never leave the city again without jumping through bureaucratic hoops for temporary leave.
Sure, maybe they'll get superpowers, but the next step is
1. It's so strong that they're effectively made slave to the researchers poking at their heads.
2. It's okay but they mostly only really use it under controlled conditions, outside of that using it willy nilly will bring the antiskills over
3. It's weak shit and only good for playing around with
4. 60% of the time they end up a level 0 and either are stuck uselessly ever after in the city as prey for the higher level espers or they join the roving gangs of criminals that prowl the back alleys in open warfare with the armed police troopers and their power armors
I guess he found it so goddamn retarded that it went from terrible to good, admittedly it was a whole lot more fun than the boring pile of shit that was the earlier episodes, but it was still fucking stupid
It's the most unbearably stupid thing you've ever seen.
>Railgun Manga > Railgun S Episodes 1-16
I'd argue Railgun S matches or even exceeds the corresponding manga chapters if you take the cloverfield episode out from it, since it covers the exact same thing but with visuals and voices and animation.
Parents can visit their kids anytime, man, and it's all made up for by the fact that AC's education is fantastic, and that the place has really good PR, a bit of brain experimentation to live in a super city is not too big of a deal for them, and they can take away their kids, as seen by Misuzu's attempt, unfortunately for her Misaka's the city's poster girl, so she had to be iced before she could pull her out
If this ever gets adapted(HA!), you know Touma's VA is going to lose his voice over this.
Try not to read by putting your ass against the screen
>"I don't know if she could make it fast enough to behave like her coins" is about the mech
The statement about "not as fast as the coins" is about the mixcoatl
That's not KIKUKAKIKUKAKIKUKIKAKIKAKI
He probably already did, he is a LNfag so I assume that he read it at loud for his own amusement
Well let's see.
1. Possibility of the kid getting superpowers.
2. Top level education 30 years ahead from the rest of the world.
3. Ability to do research 30 years ahead of the rest of the world.
4. Access to technology 30 years ahead of the rest of the world.
5. The city is presented to the outside as some kind of Utopia
Basically whatever they even get from the power curriculum program, their education will already be enough to propel them to the intellectual elite of the world.
Who would deny their children access to that?
Academy City's schools are way ahead of the curve.
Touma's class learns advanced neuroscience in their first year of high school. Plus their medical science is great if your kid has special needs.
what's the best track on the OST?
>That's hardly demonstrating that she can't make huge objects fly fast.
Nope. Conductivity matters only for the aperture, which in this case is the iron sand. As long as the amount of conductive material doesn't restrict current flow, whether the entire slug is made of conductive material or not doesn't matter.
What the fuck? The text explicitly states that 200m is object's maximum altitude. Work on your reading comprehension. And sea level horizon seen from 1.5 meters above sea level is only 4.4 km. See for yourself: http://www.ringbell.co.uk/info/hdist.htm
Furthermore, there is no distance or time value given for either when it reached maximum altitude or when it disappeared over the horizon.
>I bet Othinus smells godly
There are two ways to read this. Both are probably accurate.
first half of railgun isn't that bad
5. full of chinks
And? The mech is much heavier. What those anons above (and probably including yourself) said about the type of material affecting acceleration is false unless the flow of current is constricted.
Academy City's scientific community is in a little bubble of its own. Even if their kid invented a faster than light travel thanks to his AC education and AC company internship, he isn't going to be famous to the world at large because that discovery is going to be stuck in Academy City and kept top secret so it can be used as part of some Kihara's plan to stick an engine in the core of the Earth and pilot it around the galaxy like a spaceship.
>You have rape gangs as far as the eye can see
Only in Nagai Space where Saten's presence turns upstanding Skill Outs who are just minding their own business into rape zombies.
>a plot to destroy the entire city or kill thousands multiple times a year
This only happens twice: 0930 and BLOCK's plot to take out Aleister which involved some 3000 mercenaries (and maybe the Spark Signal attempt too, if you can count that). Both were either partly or fully due to Touma's involvement with the RCC.
It'd help if we knew what happens to adult Espers.
I mean we know they exist, Sherry's friend died 20 years ago and AC is 50 years old. We have no clue if they get to leave the city or not though.
You forgot the Indian Magic Cabal in Road to Endymion, and those Russians trying to bomb, and shoot missiles at AC during SS2
What if their kid became a Kihara?
We know AC has a perfect missile defense system anyways.
Mikoto and Imoutos have some fine legs.
There's no way they can leave.
And I swear to you guys that Mugino is over 18 years old.
Well this generation of Fives is apparently the first one.
If the other generations were all shit-tier and didn't go above level 3, god knows what they did to them.
Probably become researchers or Anti-Skill/teachers
why don't you post some fine examples then?
>As long as the amount of conductive material doesn't restrict current flow.
Of course the principe of the railgun still works, I'm saying the limit is in the amount of current which can be put through it without it evaporating. A railgun is very simple to understand. By pumping a large amount of current through it and applying a magnetic field perpendicular to it, shit flies.
Now if the layer of conductive material gets thinner, the resistance goes up. Further, the thickness of the material goes down so the heat sink decreases too. The amount of heat generated per unit volume therefore increases quadratically with the material getting thinner. Therefore too much current, and the layer will melt. Further on it is often mentioned that Mikoto's output is voltage constricted, so resistance increase decreases the amount of current through it. Work on reading comprehension yourselves.
I assumed the beach wasn't flat and they weren't close to the shoreline, so I estimated an altitude of 7.5 meters. That's pretty normal for beaches around here. Further it is stated that the object was affected by gravity at 200 meters, not that it had a maximum altitude. If it was 200 meters the speed necessary would be insane.
>no time value
No shit, decompose motion horizontal and vertical, the time can directly be calculated from the maximum altitude. This is middle school math and an elementary physics class example.
sniffing Body Clear in a gutter somewhere
That's because you see them the most
That's because Mikoto must be fit as fuck, considering all the shit she did during the sisters arc.
I wonder what drugs they have in AC.
Do you think they have that super weed?
I want to rub my dick up and down their thighs
>Before the rain could knock that dust down to the ground, Mikoto stomped on the stomachs of the men in black collapsed on the alleyway ground. This knocked them unconscious and she then charged out into the open street.
Also because of how emphasized they are. They are noticeably longer than most of the others and for girls like Kanzaki they aren't as exposed. I also prefer them on the thinner side.
Doesn't everyone have much the same looking legs anyway?
unlike butts and breasts. there isn't much variety when it comes to drawings
>not further up, all the way through
Mikoto is in good shape. At the very least she maintains good cardio.
There was a scene where Kuroko hinted that Mikoto uses electricity to stimulate her muscles but Mikoto denied it casually. I dunno...
damn that is sluttily short
>tfw Haimura gives all characters a severe case of sick legs
>tfw we'll never get an official Othinus art like this
Might as well make her naked
But that would be lewd.
being naked is less lewd
her current design accentuates her lithe figure even more
>Mahaya will never be illustrator for Index
Not to forget that she can carry Index under one arm without problems. And she's decent at martial arts, being able to defend against Frenda's kicks and punches for some time.
She's pretty damn strong, even without using her powers she's a tough opponent.
maaan....Index is adorable though. I just wish that she like...did more shit. For a majority of the time she just hangs around in Touma's room and gets upset at him after he beats the hell out of this week's bad guy :(
She's just gotten used to being useless
That's the part of her keikaku.
She didn't want any bullshit like her previous world or being understood. She just wanted to win the T from the very beginning. Othinus is a Crowley-tier schemer.
Haimura is fine. He draws the girls even more petite and his faces are cuter.
Meat > bones
>I just wish that she like...did more shit.
kuroko a delicious
The endgame material would be the grimoires inside her head, not her as a person.
When Mikoto will have a happy dream.
Then she will wake up, only to remember that Touma died before she found courage to confess.
She will cry for the rest of the night.
Good morning, thread. How are you?
Discussing delicious raildex.
She'll cry herself blind
what kind of filename is this?
And at the same time Touma will be giving Othinus the T in Avalon.
The grimoires in her head is information. The information a person holds is not an entity separate from themselves. The books are, but not the information gained from them. And when Pendex is destroyed and she is allowed to use magic, she will do more shit.
Even if she was able to use all her grimoires she'd still be at around Ollerus level, wouldn't she?
Ever since the second post.
Index just has grimoires. Ollerus has grimoires and all his bullshit Norse powers.
I haven't seen Index firing and countering millions of attacks in seconds.
an accurate one
That's for later anon. Don't knock foreplay.
>Now if the layer of conductive material gets thinner
None of that matters because the iron sand isn't going to melt in the first place. Or do you actually think that Mikoto is stupid enough to put a thin enough layer of iron sand around the thing that will just melt or restrict her ability to perform?
We're talking about your inability to understand what simple English means, as explained below:
>Further it is stated that the object was affected by gravity at 200 meters
The object is constantly affected by gravity. The text says that it was caught by gravity at 200 meters, which means that it stopped rising at that point. Learn to read.
>decompose motion horizontal and vertical, the time can directly be calculated from the maximum altitude
Nope. You only have the maximum altitude to work with. You don't know what angle it was shot at or how far it went. You can only compute for the time it stayed up in the air, since you don't know the x component of anything. Finding the initial vertical velocity:
v = sqrt(9.8*2*200)
v = 62.6 m/s
With this you can find t to peak, which is:
-4.9t^2 + 62.6t - 200 = 0
t = 6.4 s
Double that to get total flight time, and you get 12.8 seconds. Also, a beach that's 6 meters tall is too much. I lived in a coastal town, and the height of the pier (and the road and the nearby buildings' ground floor) from the water line is only 2, maybe 3 meters at most. That gives you at most 7.6 kilometers to the horizon. The projectile could have disappeared over the horizon any time after it reached its peak altitude. You can only compute for the minimum speed, which is around 500-600 m/s. The mech, being much heavier, should be slower than this and might not even break the speed of sound.
>And when Pendex is destroyed and she is allowed to use magic, she will do more shit.
Not happening, she's been established to be a sedentary character. She's helpless and useless when it comes to anything not related to spells and magic info. She has no physical skills, nor a strong motivation to do anything by herself.
That's how it always has been for her and I doubt it will ever change. At this point in the story she feels like she's just a leftover from the first volume that only appears to bite Touma at the end of every arc.
She did something in NT8 but she was still dependant of the others around her, if it wasn't for Mikoto that saved her from the destroyed plane, she'd be a stain on the asphalt now.
Not everyone has to be combat-oriented. Index is a non-combatant. She's not supposed to be able to take on others by herself. The few times she was able to (and not because they almost killed themselves from grimoire exposure) were exceptions.
With their figure and attitude foreplay would be everyone's last concern.
>Not everyone has to be combat-oriented.
In a battle shounen series, if you want to be relevant and have screentime, and if you don't want to depend on others to survive in the middle of the battlefield, you have to be combat-oriented.
Index has more screentime than everyone else except Touma. There are several other currently relevant non-combat-oriented people, like Katze and the ROC Archbishop. Furthermore, Index isn't exactly a "battle shounen series".
I want GREMLIN saga to end with Touma faking Othinus' death and sneaking her in disguise into AC. She would live in his dorm and wander randomly around AC searching for Touma when he's out… which would lead to many hilarious for everyone but Touma situations.
Nigger, making a tsundere all hot and bothered before sticking it in is a top tier fetish. And her thighs are good, see >>101804192
Ask the drawfags.
That's only for the first part of the series. Her screentime in NT is pitiful.
>"battle shounen series"
Then what is it? It's more of a battle shounen than it is a comedy, harem, drama, or romance series.
An e coli can't get out of the city without AC knowing it
>implying I'm talking about pikachu
Aleister would allow it though because he needs her for plans.
Just like he allowed Tsuchimikado to smuggle Touma out of the city every other day.
>implying Aleister wouldn't allow that
>implying deredere for Touma Othinus in AC is not keikaku doori
Raildex mixes together genres like crazy.
Is Underline fixed? It was damaged during 16, but Thor and Touma had to use those tunnels during 5, so i'm assuming they fixed it.
It only took a few hours to repair it.
Best track hands down
I read Kamijou-san's rant with that son playing.
The best track in the whole anime series is that one that was never released, the one that plays exactly at the start of episode 23 of Index I. It also plays other times in Index II.
It's frustrating that it is nowhere to be found in any of the OSTs or even ripped on the internet.
You wanted to cry didn't you
So when Mikoto learns what Touma went through, will she be sad she wasn't there again, or pissed off about him killing half her sisters?
But of course. I was afraid I would not cry enough without some nice music. It backfired horribly.
>Implying anyone will ever find out what Touma went through
Anyone that has actual paid attention to the characters knows that she nor any of the sisters would ever condemn him for not sacrificing himself.
Well the Sisters obviously won't, the Will is the Sisters, so if she's fine with it they are.
I can see Mikoto being a little disillusioned though.
she never actually cared about her little clones
She'll probably have trouble believing that someone actually destroyed and rebuilt the world millions of times, dismissing it as a pure mindfuck.
She would probably try to sympathize with him and comfort him. As the Will said, there are people that would reject the perfect world if they knew about the original world and Touma, she logically would be one of them.
I doubt it not trying to ship or anything but she loves him plus its just in her character that she wouldn't want anyone to have a harder time just so she could get off easier.
So are we gonna get more of the best character or what
Maybe she'll appear in one scene in NT10
She would probably be in shock about all the horrible things he had to go through and the fact that he died like a million times.
She will be a bitch about it, she doesn't believe in magic so if Touma tells her she will just think he is messing with her and call him an idiot
>Norse Mythology will never be animated
She knows that magic exists, she just doesn't understand anything about it. She acknowledged it after WW3 happened.
She knows Touma joke about something like that. She'll try to comfort him, but she'll probably write it off as Othinus mindfucking him, rather than him actually going through all that shit
She knows it exist but still doesn't believe in magic
She thinks it is just weird shit, not an actual thing
Right, that's why she ignored the horrible experiments and acted as if nothing happened when Accel crushed the clone she just spent the entire day hanging out with, oh wait.
You're not making any sense.
He's basically saying she in denial about magic being magic.
Pretending to listen is being a bitch about it
It means that she doesn't really wants to understand what the other person is saying
>Or do you actually think that Mikoto is stupid enough to put a thin enough layer of iron sand around the thing that will just melt or restrict her ability to perform?
Maybe she can't gather a large amount of iron sand so she has to restrict herself? You'd be surprised how fast a sheet of metal can overheat when a large amount of current goes through, and the amount of current for an effective railgun is gigantic. I'd seriously doubt a small layer of iron sand could take all the current she could throw at it. Ergo she has to limit herself.
>The object is constantly affected by gravity. The text says that it was caught by gravity at 200 meters
Where I live that saying usually refers to the point at which no other forces but gravity effect it any more. So referring to the moment Mikoto's powers don't affect it anymore, instead of the moment of the highest point. That's how it's interpreted here. Might be a language problem.
>Do exactly the calculation which I described
wait what? I just simplified the thing by calculating if from highest point. Don't have to bother with initial velocity since it is by definition 0.
Then the time for the full flight is t=sqrt(2*max_alt/a)*2 = sqrt(2*200/9.8)*2 = 12.8 sec exactly as you got.
I'll give ya that one, our beaches are very large and bordering to 50 meter hills. Guess it ain't that way at other places.
I'll still say though, she was probably current limited by heat production.
Not part of this convo, but I doubt the amount of iron sand is an issue. She drew up enough in Russia to make a tidal wave of it that ripped dozens of tanks to shreds. And islands shouldn't be short on the stuff.
No, it means that she thinks Touma got mindfucked because she cant believe that the universe actually got fucked. It's a coping mechanism. If I were to tell you I just survived everything Touma went through, you'd either not believe me or think I got mindfuck/was really high. That doesn't make you a bitch.
Probably sympathising, and then after he tells the details slap him for not immediately following up on what he said to her during the sisters arc about not sacrificing yourself to save others.
That still wouldn't make her act like he said in his first post.
Eh, during that scene she gathered it behind her while driving for a long amount, and the tidal wave effect is more related to her controlling the iron sand completely while vibrating it at high velocities. I'm just trying to argue that the difference in resistance between solid and thin cover is rather large.
For Mikoto, non-AC supernatural phenomena are either offshoots of esper powers, or they're completely and utterly unexplainable. The idea of a completely different power with a completely different set of rules just flies over her head.
To be fair, most magicians don't know how their own powers work either.
They all think they're drawing power from gods and legends and shit, when according to Othinus all the religions are fake.
No one has properly explained how it works to her. Lessar tried, but she did so half-assedly and quickly gave up, and that was also the time where she hadn't witnessed the shit that happened in WWIII and Hawaii. If someone lectured her about it now, like Birdway did with Accel and Shiage, she'd understand it.
It makes sense that she thinks that way though. I mean, imagine if you were raised believing in notmagic you entire life, and everything that has to deal with magic is basically how we see it, on TV, video games, books, etc. Then, some close people to you show you something strange, and call it magic, but never actually decide to explain it to you. You would think they were just making shit up and try to find a more logical explanation, like Gemstones or something.
If they actually sat her down and explained everything to her like they did with Accelerator and Shiage, then she would probably accept it too.
Magicians know that the legends they're drawing power from don't need to be real and most magicians are not religious people
A lot of characters didn't need an explanation for magic and a lot of them never had one and still understand it better than Misaka
Saten for example
Saten is prone to believing bullshit like shadow metal and random AC urban legends. That's just the kind of person she is. She still doesn't understand it any more than Mikoto, she just accepts the name "magic".
When someone tells her "It's magic, I don't have to explain shit" she understands completely.
Just started Railgun S.
Why do they just let that Misaki fucking maniac walk around? They should lock her the fuck up, this shit is twisted.
Doesn't understand it better, she just felt that those powers MIGHT have a different set of laws and rules than the AC Esper powers.
She figured out that there was a different set of laws behind the strange phenomena she was witnessing and she did it rather quickly, thats more than what Misaka did, and Saten is a lot more stupid than Misaka is
>Giving a shit if a Level 5 maims or kills alot of people
>implying that part is canon
Well, it is canon.
It's just in the wrong fucking spot in the timeline.
Least it's better than Kongou, which both changed the time she enters the story, and gave her an intro that's just incredibly shittier than the manga's.
Actually they did lock her up from the start and planned to kill her after she was done being useful.
She mind fucked everyone and forced her way out by tampering with their anti-mind control helmets.
The ones I can think at the moment are the three heroes, Komoe, Kihara-kun and Will-chan
All science side characters that aren't as dense as her about magic
Another thing, why does the author love making Kongou job like a bitch in every single scene she gets?
What arc will be next in railgun manga after the devilkoto level 6 arc? another day of daihaseisai?
I want a Guhna or Misaki backstory
If you mean in canon, not sure what you mean. She's only had one fight, and she kicked ass. She just had to surrender since fatty was threatening a cat or something.
I think it is going to end with the daihasei
Is the Railgun anime series not canon? She got trashed by Skill-outs in the first season, put in the hospital and restrained by mooks in another situation, and a few other things I'm forgetting.
Komoe isn't an Esper, Kihara didn't give a shit, Will-chan doesn't understand it any better than Mikoto, and she has the plus or cheat of having the knowledge of more than 20000 girls and the ability to hear conversations through electric devices.
I'm betting it will be about Full Tuning or Will-tan.
The Railgun manga seems to want to cover everything about the clones. Every arc has a connection to them in some way. Chances are after we are done with this arc, we are going to get a few scenes at the end of the festival like the dance, and then it will skip ahead to a point where Mikoto isn't busy. Maybe during Battle Royale or something.
Or maybe we will get Mikoto + LO interactions, which would be great.
The Nagai Space filler stuff is barely canon. Kamachi gave them some ideas to work with but they keep fucking up the arcs and making them contradict the timeline.
Not in the slightest. The non-manga stuff is Nagaishit. You'll notice the quality is very crappy.
Tip. If you see clovers, it's Nagai.
All he did with the Study Arc was give the names for shit.
No, Kongou wasn't even in Tokiwadai at that moment
Who cares if Komoe isn't an esper or if Amata didn't give a fuck, they still understand it better than Misaka, of course they are not experts they are from the science side, but they weren't as dense as her
In canon, she didn't even come to Tokiwadai until after the Sister's Arc. She shouldn't have been in the first season at all.
That's great, because I like her.
Didn't he also give a short discription of what it would be like, and it seemed really dark? I remember seeing it posted way back in the summer threads when Railgun S was still airing but it would take forever to find.
While the Railgun S fillershit is questionable when it comes to canon, the S1 stuff did happen. It was confirmed in the novels and Haruee was in one of the illustrations.
Why do you care anyway if she isn't dense now, at the current time in the story?
Remember that your initial claim was that she wouldn't believe Touma's suffering because she doesn't believe in magic. So this whole argument is pointless to begin with.
She is still dense but you know what, you are right this whole argument is pointless
why don't we wait for NT10 and see how she reacts?
Because the wait is killing us. It won't be out til May or June at the earliest according to js06.
But she's not dense anymore, she understands that it is a completely different system than the AC esper powers, which is just the same as what the other science characters know without being lectured about it, she's just clueless as to how it works, hence:
>If someone lectured her about it now, like Birdway did with Accel and Shiage, she'd understand it.
