So what did you guys think of kodomo no jikan?
I remember watching the anime 5/6 years ago and recently finally finished the manga.
Im not that big of a guy for loli but i really enjoyed the story , it was a very "touching" story so to say.
It's a really well written manga, and the characters are incredibly well written. What else is there to say really, we've had this thread enough that really the only point you'll come out with is what everyone's personal favorite moment was and that the ending was rushed as fuck around the same time as Hourou Musuko and Aoi Hana most likely for the same reason of impending copyright reform.
Copyright reform? I always wondered why Aoi Hana and Hourou Musuko came to an end so quickly at the same time.
I didnt get the feeling it was rushed.
But I agree the characters are one by one well writen.
And what do you mean with copyright reform?
I enjoyed it and I think loli is disgusting. As anon said, the characters are well-written.
Never seen the anime.
The manga is a good story about a very sensitive subject in our time.
I hated the ending. MC went from quasi-father figure to I'ma-fuck-a-midget in the span of four chapters. No real build up at all to it.
Well yeah. Considering they still didn't go for a loli end (at least legally) I think everyone who was against this as a "pedo shit" calmed down.
Even if that means that some loli fans were disappointed.
I don't agree with that, I like the artstyle of the manga, and I think the anime butchered it.
I've been meaning to reread this again since I stopped around 2009~. It was a pretty damn solid manga from what I remember.
The anime was fucking trash.
Ive been thinking of printing the manga out and bind the volumes myself. Dont know how long or how expensive this is going to be but i like to have physical copy's of them.
Judging the book by its cover.
From about 3 chapters before the timeskip it was incredibly rushed until the end. There was some sort of bill passed in Japan to bring them into compliance with one of those treaties (policy washing) that hit manga pretty hard, a bunch of manga stopped running right around the same time.
Why not just import it? Unless it's illegal you should try to support the author and publisher.
Nut the ED was damn catchy
That's not a great credit, the OST was good, but even Musashi Gundoh's OST was good.
This fucking manga should have ended in 2008-9.
It was pretty clear that the plot was stuck and most of the chapters that came out every month after 2007 were just pandering.
Reminder that Answerman ruined the localization forever.
And that there must be some english volumes printed somewhere.
They went for the loli ending though. She was 15 and aoki was 28/29
And she didnt change 1 bit from middle to school to highschool.
Ye ofcourse i like to support the author and publisher but i cant read moon (yet) and i want it in english even if its fan translated.
Seven seas was going to publish it but they cancelled it.
>Came for the loli and stayed for the character development.
>Rin is the epitome of DFC loli.
>Good plot, pacing, narrative, humor and drama
>Taboo theme done well
no no no
answerman was just opportunist..... making it seem that ANN staff single handedly destroyed KnJ manga.
The real story is that the translated manga "Nyphet" was having trouble getting picked up by big retail bookstores in America (Barnes/Noble, Borders) at that time. Because of lack of big retailers and the fact that later chapters in Japan might offend American sensibilities, Seven Seas decided to just drop the franchise.
Ergo not loli end.
Lolicons lost another battle.
Well this brings back memories.
been 6 years already again. Im still glad ive bought that figure of rin long time ago
That's just a way to dance around censorship, same as Oreimo.
Hell, she didn't even grow up.
Should have bought the giant model when I had the chance.
>form of a loli
that's still a loli end because there exists a school of thought that loli form even at advanced age is still a loli
Try reading an actual piece of literature you fucking mongoloids
It's not like she looks all that childish to begin with for the later chapters either ways. Youthful yes, but not exactly a child.
Compared with aging to a "morally acceptable" age, it loses all its charm for me.
I'd rather they didn't include a shitty sex scene, but instead gone for a nice confession scene without a time skip.
Sort of bill? got any source on this?
I would have liked to have seen more of the manga but sadly every story comes to an end ;_;
As for the rushing part maybe , maybe not.
They could have gone for maybe 1 or 2 volumes more to build up to the end and maybe 1 volume afterwards like how did it end after that and that kind of stuff .
You mean this 1?
93 chapters and she couldn't take his dick
I'm still mad
You got at least some sort of sex scene in the end even though he didnt pop her cherry
You mean bill 156?
>From about 3 chapters before the timeskip it was incredibly rushed until the end. There was some sort of bill passed in Japan to bring them into compliance with one of those treaties (policy washing) that hit manga pretty hard, a bunch of manga stopped running right around the same time.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government have had enough of mangas (for general audience) that were starting to look like R18 H-mangas... So TMG want clearly defined what's General and R18 (yellow sticker). Sankaku news and dankanemitsu.wordpress covered this extensively back in 2010 and 2011.
There's only 2 ratings for manga/anime in Japan... General (no yellow sticker) and R18 (with yellow sticker).
so basicly the author rushed it to the end before there was a chance that the manga was considered with the R18 sticker?
Now im really mad
Still im kind of sad of it i can still live with it.
I mean if i was the author i think i would have done the same thing considering its for a broader audience meaning more sales meaning more cash.
And it wasnt all that bad if you ask me.
Btw isn't KnJ drawn Shoujo-manga style?
Before "Ishihara's law" you could get the most mileage out of shoujo genre without getting R18 (18-kin) yellow sticker and shrinkwrapped.
I hated the ending, it left with no real impact for me. I was honestly disappointed the mangaka went with the Kokonoe/sensei ending, but I didnt expect anything else.
All in all, it was a great series but, had a unsatisfying ending.
Shoujo is not a style. Shoujo is not a genre. Do not treat Sankaku Complex as a reputable news source, and do not link it here.
What else did you expect?
Nothing, but part of me was holding out for a Boing-sensei ending not gonna lie. I knew that was a pipe dream though
What exactly is the law? I remember there was a shitstorm a few years ago, but I don't know the repercutions. I think a lot of manga got a 18+ label and shrinkwrapped.
To bad the reign of loli has come to an end with the end of this manga.
Its a shame something like this wont be out there again in this sort of form.
This is one of the anime and manga that i still treasure after all these years and not purely because of the fan-service it provided but the awsome story that was told with this
Google bill 156
I know shoujo is "demographic"... but its got "style" that screams shoujo
I wish there was a similiar story as kodomo no jikan
