Why aren't studios adapting good seinen series anymore? It seems like they peaked in the early-mid 2000s and now we barely get anything. We haven't gotten any good seinen shows in the last few seasons, and in 2014 we'll probably get just one (Mushishi s2).
There was never really a trend for adapting seinen.
Because you're not keeping up or something. Next season we are getting Ping Pong.
>Caring about it's demographic
> It seems like they peaked in the early-mid 2000s
I don't really know if that's true.
I thought anime died in the 90s with Cowboy Bebop?
>GOOD seinen series
Get out you dumb faggot. Grownups are talking here.
Can we not make this a shitposting thread?
>Hey everyone, look how edgy I am!
I just read through the first few parts of the manga, it looks pretty bad honestly. Not much of a plot, lots of action scenes but no focus on strategy or anything particularly interesting.
Get out faggots. Shitty anime being made doesn't count. It doesn't change the fact that nowadays only moeshit is made.
Enjoy your dead thread you shitposting freakshow.
Kiseijuu adaption will air in Fall 2014. Are you happy now?
Kingdom S2 aired recently didn't it? I only read the manga.
Black Bullet, Ping Pong, Gokukoku no Brynhildr, Sidonia no Kishi, Kiseijuu, Kenzen Robo Daimidaler, Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to and lots of others.
Are you new? Shows with a cute art style were always made, they just didn't get much attention.
Don't be silly anon. Most series adapted today are seinen.
20TH CENTURY BOYS WHEN.
I want Billy Bat too.
> not seinen
D-Frag is seinen, you idiot.
Too bad, be happy with your live action.
Ping Pong had a live action and now it's getting an anime.
not gonna happen because they already made those LA films. Adapting 20th Century Boys isn't commercially relevant anymore, unfortunately.
Don't you want everyone to GUTALALA SUDALALA ?
Billy Bat can be fine too. Not to mention they couldn't do the BD things in a movie.
Your definition is wrong.
What you meant to ask is "casual catering mature bullshit".
Right, so why isn't there more of it?
Probably because they don't sell well enough, and because the western media does it better.
Are you implying that Western TV shows are good? Because they really aren't.
True Detective is better than any airing anime.
Not most of them, but the best Western dramas are better than the best anime dramas.
I'm not implying that, but for what these series are, the western TV shows are better.
And if you like shows like Monster or Mushishi, it's a more fitting media for you than anime.
Why aren't studios adapting good seinen series anymore?
That statement shows you don't watch any tv shows.
Because casuals don't want to pay as much as hardcore otaku in Japan. That's the reason shows like Infinite Stratos and Love Live are top sellers.
And before you do, there's no point in blaming us for this development. We are just freeriding whatever happens in Japan, if you dislike anime in its current state you should just pursue other forms of entertainment that suit you better.
Sorry, I can't stand edgy, pseudo intellectual American action crime drama bullshit.
The anime is years old now
Yet that's what you are looking for in anime.
Please stop posting.
but I didn't like Psycho Pass
When did I say that? I watch anime for fun. I watch film if I want to watch something with artistic and intellectual worth.
I thought your OP.
that's not House of Cards and The Shield
