Is Code Geass the greatest anime of all time?
Thats not Kill la Kill
No, not even close. Valvrave is better than Code Geass in every way.
> Best anime
> Both mentions are terrible
Stay classsy /a/
Thats not Gurren Lagann
Source on that image?
I like how you don't even give an opinion as to what is the best, faggot.
You might have been right if KlK was actually good
That's not Boku no Pico
That's not Edge-elion.
It was pretty terrible
Dropped it after sitting through 11 painfully boring episodes.
Definitely not the greatest anime for me.
Death Note > Code Geass
This shit was so bad i couldnt bear staring the second episode
No one cares about you.
The start was so boring i couldn't continue
Code Geass was fucking great.
But R2 a fucking shit.
9 year old children aren't allowed on this forum.
Objectively yes, Subjectively yes.
Anyone who disagree is objectively dumb.
What about objectively though?
Yes, it is
Yet there is still people claiming code geass is the greatest anime of all time
Shut the fuck up nerd
Code Geass is lame shit for that edgy faggot in class that didn't talk to anyone and spent all day fantasizing about being LeDouche
Death Note, One Outs, Akagi, Kaiji, Liar Game>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Code Geass
Can't argue with that, it is still the best anime however.
Code Geass > Akagi > Kaiji > Death Note > One Outs
God my sides.
still has shitty character designs.
come on anything with CLAMP puke on it can't be the best
How old are you
when the first season aired imitating Lelouch's style made me pretty confident
wow sorry i'm not trying to be mean but i'm sure that you were being really really lame
I know, right. You're not a true/a/non unless you hate every popular anime.
No. Code Geass is great but nothing at all like that.
The greatest anime of all time is...Astro Boy, you newfags.
Death Note knew what it wanted to be, just two niggers doing a mouse and cat game.
Code Geass has pseudo-politics, mechas, noodle shitty character designs and just everything that you could cram that is bad about anime from top to bottom.
By doing the same thing, I was promoted to student council president and all of the girls in my school wanted my dick.
People fantasize about all sorts of anime, unless you haven't been on /a/ or something, and Code Geass is liked by people who aren't remotely edgy, so fuck your stupid opinion.
What sophisticated anime do you watch that's for adults? Ecchi shit?
Tezuka crap is all shallow, might as well watch Naruto moron
Death Note knew what it wanted to be, just two niggers doing a mouse and cat game.
Oh please. Way to white-wash that to hell and back.
>Code Geass has pseudo-politics, mechas, noodle shitty character designs and just everything that you could cram that is bad about anime from top to bottom.
And here's you spouting bullshit just because you hate the show.
>people having serious arguments
Get the fuck out.
CG is objectively good. But not the greatest.
Code Geass is far better than Death Note, but Death Note is still good. What anime do the "mature" guys watch? Kill la Kill? Faggot.
>better than Code Geass or anything
>noodle shitty character designs
Nigger please. There will never be better character design than Emperor Lelouch and Knight of Zero Suzaku.
Where the hell are you from? Not even /v/ has this shit taste.
Nothing bad about mecha, nor pseudo-politics. Hell, just like Code Geass did, Death Note had pseudo-political and pseudo-philosophical shit too. Character designs are subjective, by default, but this is a cartoony medium with lots of odds proportions so you're just being a prick.
>bad about anime
But that's wrong you fucking retard.
No, Death Note attracts fujoshi and the gothic crowd so it's bad. It has seemingly little to no clichee anime elements, so it could attract casuals so that is bad as well.
Kaiji, Akagi and One Outs are perfect since they seemingly attract nobody that could be possibly that bad of a person.
Code Geass is fine too, is actually good, and has shitty anime elements like noodle CLAMP character designs, robots, so it doesn't the attract any shitty normals.
So overall Death Note definitly deserves all the hate it gets.
Thats not EVA
>hating an anime because it's popular
>Death Note > Code Geass
Maybe, but Lelouch > Light
It is. Anyone who states otherwise is a huge faggot.
Why don't you post some noodles from One Piece or CLAMP or even Sailor Moon too, nigger?
Yes it is. My only regret was not being here when it was air.
So, should I watch CG?
I've watched Death Note already and it was absolute shit after L died.
Why do people compare light and MC from code geass?
Lelouch > Akagi > Akiyama > Kaiji > Light > Tokuchi
Because they're both extremely intelligent in their own regard. CG is much more complex than Death Note and Lelouch is far superior to any character in Death Note.
Lelouch is the cart driver.
>Why do people compare light and MC from code geass?
Because edgy "I predicted that you predicted"
Death Note didn't push those as much.
>Character designs are subjective, by default, but this is a cartoony medium with lots of odds proportions so you're just being a prick.
You think things like subjectivity matter here you dumbass? Where do you think you are?
Technocolored hair, thin-rail proportions are all bad elements.
CLAMP is much worse artist than Obata
yeah i get that and that's fine but the kind of people who want to be like Ledouche and fantasize about it are 9 times out of 10 complete assfarms.
No, Death Note is an entertaining series. No masterpiece for sure, and at some points it can be pretty shitty but it is by no means bad. You shouldn't hate a series just because of the crowd it draws. Except for Naruto, they deserve it.
Needs more pizza hut
Akagi > Lelouch
CG > Akagi
>Death Note didn't push those as much.
But it did, especially on the side of those arguing against Kira and when Light tries to defend himself.
>You think things like subjectivity matter here you dumbass? Where do you think you are?
That's what I'd like to ask you, angry dude.
So you hate anime.
>thin-rail proportions are all bad elements.
Why? This isn't a documentary you idiot.
>CLAMP is much worse artist than Obata
Oh wait...you're serious
Mecha's aren't inherently bad but everything else you said was spot on.
I think this gurl might have dethroned Lelouche as worst strategist.
You mean Pizza Butt?
Wait so, code geass is like death note with mechas?
Not really, so that makes you just as wrong.
holy shit someone actually took this seriously.
this board is in a worse state than I thought.
>"I predicted that you predicted"
Reminds me of near the end of R2 was it? With Lelouch and whats his name, Schiezel?
A good 5 minutes of wordplay and each other predicting the other ones response.
Having anime cliches doesn't make a series inherently good or bad.
That's not Oreimo
What a terrible comparison. Please try harder, anon.
Lelouch was successful and did pull off multiple plans.
The girl hasn't even done anything remotely strategic at all. Can't really say if she would be better or worse.
But since you think Lelouch is a bad strategist, your opinion is invalid.
Paul > Lelouch > Akagi > Akiyama > Kaiji > Light > Tokuchi
>But it did, especially on the side of those arguing against Kira and when Light tries to defend himself.
That never detracted from it. It never pushed any side, and had any grand impact or big plot point.
>So you hate anime.
I hate bad anime artstyles yes.
The problem is that it just looks bad.
Like Winx Club, those shitty pseudo-anime from the west, or Shoujo manga. Puke inducing.
Oreimo S2 finished in episode 8, when Kuruneko wins and Kirino is left out of the story.
Code Geass is a masterpiece
Okouchi is a fucking genius and one of the top tier writers of anime
Can you really call that edgy?
God, that buzzword means nothing at this point.
Reminder that Okouchi co-wrote Guilty Crown and Valvrave.
Where did it go wrong?
>That never detracted from it. It never pushed any side, and had any grand impact or big plot point.
Actually, the fact Light lost pretty much confirms that he was wrong. Near and everyone else calls him out on all his BS. How can you overlook that?
>I hate bad anime artstyles yes.
You said you hated having hairs of various colors. Which is a rather dumb complaint to have in this medium where artificial colors are the usual.
So feel free to have that opinion, but you come across as way too narrow-minded.
Code Geass > Death Note
Let's just put that to rest. Death Note is boring as fuck and half of the show is basically complete retardation. When people talk about the show, they almost completely disregard the portion after L's death. How the fuck could it even be considered good when a major part of the story is fucking terrible?
>Reminder that Okouchi co-wrote Guilty Crown and Valvrave.
>Where did it go wrong?
Guilty Crown was mostly Yoshino and was directed by Araki, so there's your answer.
Valvrave is more his fault, though I think they were counting on the show being more profitable to have more episodes. I didn't dislike it as much as GC though.
Hah, the only reason most of Lelouch's plans even worked was because the enemy was too busy being baffled at how obscene his plans were. In fact, he doesn't succeed that often. Usually his plans ended in a stalemate or with him being pushed against the ropes and having the plot save his ass.
If it weren't for his Geass, he would have never gotten anywhere.
Holy shit. Just marathoned the 2nd half of S2. It wasn't perfect but it sure was fucking intense as shit. I wish I watched it with /a/, would have loved being on the wild ride.
I finished the entire series in about 3 days.
>Death Note is boring as fuck
So you need big scale things with stuff "happening" or some shit right?
It wasn't interesting enough for me to do that. I didn't really enjoy the switching of pace between school romcom and serious talk about killing millions and tactics.
>that billiard scene
For fuck's sake.
>posting a scene that contradicts his opinion
This plan was fucking genius. he used textual statutory interpretation to use the law for his own purpose. If he wasn't busy doing some weird political shit, Lelouch would make a billionaire lawyer.
I think the main problem with Valvrape was really the 2nd season. The first season as derpy as it was, was overall still an enjoyable ride. The 2nd season however had extreme pacing problems, shoved characters to the side that were important first season like Saki and Shoko, and overall was just extremely dull and predictable.
It's just a quibble, dude. A clever quibble, but just a quibble.
And so what? He's a trickster by nature.
You sound like the sort of person who would complain that most fighting games have impossible martial arts moves and that this means the characters aren't good fighters.
Lelouch had plans which were over-the-top rather than realistic, but that's a perfectly valid road to follow in a fictional world that explicitly allows for this. The Geass was something powerful that he used, a trigger, but the way in which it enabled larger schemes was all his doing. Without it, then obviously the show wouldn't have relied on such an ability, but that's speculative talk.
It's trumped up garbage. And all of the melodramatic speechifying is incoherent drivel.
But the second half of Code Geass was shit too
>school romcom and serious talk about killing millions and tactics.
That's what I didn't like about it.
War is stupid, politics is stupid, and school romcom is also stupid.
Death Note just had some bored dudes and never distracted from anything but the mindgame.
>If it weren't for his Geass, he would have never gotten anywhere.
Well, thats kinda the point of the show. Without geass, there is no plot.
That, or cute girls doing cute things.
You know, the usual.
>But the second half of Code Geass was shit too
But less so, and I prefer the ending.
>War is stupid, politics is stupid, and school romcom is also stupid.
That sounds more like a matter of personal preference. None of those are inherently problematic issues for other people. Disliking war sounds like too much of touchy thing in particular.
>Death Note just had some bored dudes and never distracted from anything but the mindgame.
I'd say they had enough distractions from what was actually important too, but they dressed it up better at least at first.
No it's not just a quibble. This is actual jurisprudence practice which is about interpretation of precepts contained within written regulations(i.e. a codex or decree and so on).
It actually made him protected by law during this scene.
i finished code geass yesterday, it was the first anime that i watched. what should i watch now?
Except that what the Britannia forces would have just smoked every single one of them, if the plot had allowed it. They had no problem doing this in the past with the civilian population, so why should it be a problem now. Especially when they are all terrorists as far as the government is concerned.
Fuck off Americunt
I'm just being dramatic. Geass is pretty okay.
DN I just found better. And yeah it had some distractions later. Still the first 8 episodes were 10/10
If Death Note would have ended when L died it would have been 10/10.
Lelouch is dead, anyone who disagrees is a faggot
they could shortened it alot. just 2 episodes of killing kira and the ending.
Because people revolt when authorities break their own laws.
And then we could argue about how Light would have been put in jail within 3 or 4 episodes if the plot had allowed it.
Not to mention that you're overlooking a couple of big things: the chain of command.
Suzaku had the most authority other than Nunnally, since nobody other than the Emperor can legally punish a Knight of the Rounds, and Lelouch knew him well enough to realize he'd go along with the whole trick in order to prevent another massacre.
Without Suzaku, or Nunnally for that matter, Lelouch wouldn't have tried that stunt.
Code Geass was not particularly good.
It was just the best anime to watch with /a/ of all time.
They could have gone in a different direction. Near and his faggot friend ruined everything. Other than Kira's accomplice, that second half was a pile of shit.
Opening 5 is still the best though.
Open ending, faggot.
I do consider it particularly good. It has a lot of craziness and silliness, but that's part of what makes good entertainment. In addition, some of the other aspects of Code Geass were still decent enough, so I'm satisfied watching it both alone and with /a/.
Watched both seasons in early January, found it quite good.
m-m-muh sekret animey club
You actually got the joke..whew, I was afraid everyone was mentally warped here
IIRC, in that scene the Britannians were being led by Sir Guilford and Lord Kururugi, both of which are humanitarians. Keeping that in mind, breaking the chain of command in Britannian culture is probably the worst thing you can ever do
Suzaku was supposed to be the field commander and Gino/Anya deferred to him for the decision since they're all part of the same KoR club.
It's the best horrible story ever.
Had a good dub
Right? Is this opinion not allowed?
Just kill yourself.
Explain Lelouch of the rebellion; movie faggot
It would be on the same level if not for the last 5 episodes. Or not. It would be on the same level if it had at least 40 episodes.
>Opening 5 is still the best though.
ED 2 > OP 2 > OP 1 > *
