Should I watch the MSG 0079 TV series or the compilation movie trilogy?
Apparently a remake is going to be premier sometime this year, so there is also that.
Preferably the tv series but if you can't handle it, the movie trilogy is a (fairly) acceptable substitute.
Reminder that salt and old people ruin everything.
Watch both. The TV series has a lot more content but it's motw filler for the most part once they get into space towards the end you might as well watch the 3rd movie since it actually gives it a satisfying conclusion and the new animation looks so much better.
You should pretty much watch both. The ending to the TV series is shitty due to the fact that they had run out of time and budget at that point and the fact that the series was canned. The last movie gives it a new better ending.
Serie if you're a mecha/anime fan.
Movies if you're a casual.
Both are good.
The movies are best as a rewatch alternative, in my opinion.
The first movie and then jump into the series. Should make the boring parts go by quickly.
>once they get into space towards the end you might as well watch the 3rd movie

So what range of episodes are covered in each movie?
Each movie runs over two hours and contains about 13 episodes worth of the TV story.
> once they get into space towards the end you might as well watch the 3rd movie since it actually gives it a satisfying conclusion and the new animation looks so much better.
This. If you're gonna go further into the franchise then you have to watch the 3rd movie since it makes more sense as a narrative given that
Char's fate was left ambiguous in the TV series, but here we specifically see him surviving.
While cutting out large chunks and screwing up the order of events.
>all this spoonfeeding
Sure is neo-/a/ here.
There is no old /a/ left.
Just look at all the waifufags and shipping on par with fanfiction.net.
Sorry for being helpful.
I don't see your spoiler as being a disadvantage to watching the episodes that the 3rd movie covers. Because it would be obvious when continuing on to zeta anyway, and because everyone should already know by now(?)
