jojo thread niggas, get in here.
reminder that gyro is best character
kira is best villain
iggy is best dog
thats a shitty way to start a thread you faggot
anyone got those videos where bloody stream is edited to look like its being affected by differents tands like king crimson, another one bites the dust, the world, etc... ?
why would valentine himself come in here to kill this one dude?
couldn't he just send someone?
>hurrr durr i am untouchable ellell trickekeed trolled XDDD
fuck off to /v/
damn this was the saddest thing in part 3
and fuck batoto that they only have half of part 3 with good scans
I hated that dog since the begining. It was so unnecessary.
i hated him till he got jotaros hat back. how can you hate him?
Best thing about Part3 is the bathroom experiences. They are so funny when Joseph and Polnareff is there.
Doesn't he just get completely jobbed in the OVA instead of that happening?
How much do you want to bet Joseph had jerked off to thinking about Lisa Lisa? Then later when he found out he threw up in his mouth.
yeah he just get chopped in half because of vanilla ice
i love these things, how are they called again?
I know that feel.
They're part of the back covers of the volumes, I think they started showing up during Part 4
yea i know that, a lot of manga has these, but i wanted to know if there was a name to them.
is there a collection of them in english?
Trish for playable character in JoJo 2
I love that one about trees and gravity.
So I made an order a few months ago for the first Volume DVD of the OVA.
It came with a big box so you can pack all the other DVD's inside, plus two tarrot cards (The Hermit and Strength).
All in all, a good buy.
>used all of two times because it's so goddamn useless
>Fugo gets written out because his stand is too good (and also probably because what the fuck kind of name is Pannacotta)
There is no justice in fabulous 90's Italy.
Someone do that thing where Jotaro talks to himself about how much of a badass he is.
>lol he doesnt even understand japanglese
>hah dumb ape, i bet he's not a friend of justice
Do you have the one where he talks about the Rohan comparisons?
These are the only ones I have. They don't always get translated in the scans
Ironic shitposting is still against the rules.
>Yeah, apes don't have pride
>cept' GAY pride
>he's not even an ape, I'm just calling him that to piss him off.
It's to bad this picture is impossible within the narrative of Jojo, I do wish Avdol and Kakyoin could have lived to be friends with Okayashu and Hirochi.
so what fights are they going to cut in the part 3 anime adaptation? i think they cut the lovers, the fight on the plan and other tarot card fights
same with this one.
>mfw Boingo's face
Gotta say, this got to so much more than any other death so far (even though it wasn't really a death)
Recaps always get me so badly, even if they are short
who were the best enemy stand user in part 3? for me Steely Dan, Oingo, Boingo, Hol Horse, D'Arby brothers
Is he humping a tree?
Iggy Vs Petshop so hype
new jowjow animu
Viggo would make an ace Gyro
He didn't trust anyone else to retrive the corpse, naturally. You forgot about the fact that the whole damn thing except for the skull was right there
That's the first time I noticed Santana in that pic
Reading part 5 right now, just finished the Man in the Mirror fight. Definitely liking 5 more than 3, but I think 4 still has the edge over 5. What's the general consensus on 5?
Also why does every dog live for no more than two pages? Is Araki having something against dogs a known thing?
Hol Horse and Boingo, Mariah and the D'Arbys.
Loved in Japan and hated in the west, the same thing happen with part 6, but reversed, but the nipponese are right about that.
Yes, it is a known thing.
>Believing Japan is right in their taste
Take some time to consider your choices in life
That's probably because the only SO character I liked was Pucci.
i think its a thing for araki to show that a character is evil when he commits animal cruelty
like how kars saved the puppy to show that he's honorable
But Kars wasn't honorable. At all. He makes a point of saying he wasn't honorable.
not like wham.
but he still wasnt 100% evil, he just wanted to finish his goal
and after he finished his goal he proceeded to still go after JoJo with all he got instead of just flying the fuck out of there to spend an eternity doing nothing now that he was the perfect being. Dude, he so wanted to kill off everything and/or enslave everything.
ACDC was his oldest friend. He had a big ol' revenge boner since he figured Joey Jojo killed him. He was ready to be unquestioning ruler of all creation just as soon as he curb stomped his friend's killer into paste
You mean he was ready to make the entire planet suck his dick and become his sustenance?
Are you evil for eating a chicken or swatting a fly
You make it sound like Kars was a Great Devourer, or something. He only needs to eat once a year, and for all we know he doesn't need to actually kill a person to feed on energy anymore.
JOLYNE IS A SLUT
he did that to create the mask you faggot
So... in your opinion wich stand is the cutest?
inb4 F.F, she is wearing a human's skin for fuck's sake
I just started reading Jojolion and this is what I get...
It's like Araki went batshit crazy after serie 5 or it's just my impression?
I just noticed that the character is supposed to be Jotaro. I forgot about Araki's style change and I just remembered about Part 6 Jotaro.
And the hottest character too.
stray cat before araki changes the design and gives it a creepy baby face.
the small plankton ffs
this one is actually a pretty good translation though
Premise: I'm italian and I currently live in Venice.
I fucking loved part 5: not only it's mostly geographically and culturally correct, but it also has the best stands in my opinion (pic related).
I'm wondering if I should re-read part 4 in duwang
yes, you will see a lot of weird shit, but some parts are accurate as fuck
This makes me wonder. Why has Araki mentioned most of the Americas except South America? Is it because he's not interested in it or will it be mentioned in Part 9 if he ever does one?
where can i read part 4 with another translation than duwang?
>what is SBR
There is a translation group called the invincible trio who have almost completed their translation of part 4
I'm still reading SBR and am on Volume 9. I'm pretty sure it's just about the U.S. though.
guys, do we really need fucking constant jojo threads? if you guys wanna discuss it why not go to the damn general in /vg/, I would understand if it was jojolion day, or it was april and the anime is about to come out, but there is no new jojolion, and april is in 2 months. there is literally no subject that hasn't been discussed to death, apart from the "hurr lets make up stands with random wikis", "should I skip parts even if everyone tells me not to?", and "jotaro is so autistic does anyone have the images on which they show he is autistic?"
I mean no harm to the jojo community, but constant threads with no new information turns it into circlejerk and useless bullshit that will end up being mistaken as shitposting and it will bring a bad name to jojo.
Oh fuck, I read your post wrong.
At this point the fanbase is practically like homestuck or mlp, with the crazy fangirls doing pointless threads.
I love me some Jojo, but at this point these threads are just shitposting.
It hasn't been the same since the anime started.
Eh it's fine. I am interested to see how Araki would show the people as.
It is, except for some italy flashbacks (like every other part)
I think he simply loves Italy and likes the U.S.A.
not like we are breaking any rules here, we are discussing about and anime and/or a manga.
that said there should be just 1 thread at a time, lately i've been seeing tons of threads about part 6 and jolyne specifically.
I see what he did there...
>part 9 in argentina with jose joestar
Notice how the jojolion threads only get moderate replies, but the pointless ones where faggots post quotes over and over are much bigger.
These people are anime-only faggots, they don't know much after part 2, they just come in to be insufferable cunts.
the curse of a good series getting popular in the west, my friend. I mean, its not like jojo hasn't been popular in japan, it has always been quite popular there. but with the anime, not only they started a terrible, TERRIBLE fanbase of the west, but they pushed other animes to do references to it. I mean, how many jojo poses in anime did you see before the anime? 2, 3 tops. now, every single fucking anime has at least one "LETS POSE LIKE JOJOOOO" scene. from purseowners to moeshit and people even say KLK has jojo poses. the blessing of an anime is also the curse of a shitty fanbase.
is it the same in the original version or was it just made up?
>Explore ancient civilizations such as the Incas and Mapuches with knowledge gained by immortal Araki
Why the fuck do people like Joseph? He's literally the I WAS JUST PRETENDING TO BE RETARDED of the Jojos.
He also would have lost against Wham if they had fought normally instead of doing the dumb colosseum race.
Anonymous please, some people might take this bait.
the /a/ opinion is that part 5 is terrible (because the translation/scans are terrible)
the opinion in japan/france/itally (aka the only parts on earth that get proper releases of jojo) is that it's awesome
>not José Josestrella
I'm not sure about the english version since I read chapter 4 in another language, but I think it is the original.
People who say he's the best have only watched the anime or haven't watched every part, period.
Probably because people see Joseph as a what, 18-19 year old? To a dad, and then a senile old man. I personally never thought about it that way until somebody in another thread pointed that out.
what I mean is while you are talking about an anime/manga, you aren't discussing any quality topics. other threads of currently ongoing animes/ mangas have theorycrafting, foreshadowing predictions, talks about the current events. but jojo, even tough it IS currently on going, its a montly release, so there is not too much too discuss after 2 or 3 days of the jojolion chapter. these threads are pointless and hold no actual discussion.
Stardust Crusaders soon, which is perfect for a comfy spring.
>Why has Araki mentioned most of the Americas except South America
>what is the fucking place where they found the stone masks
I watched the anime and I've read every part yet he's one of my favourite characters, along with Dio, Rohan and Gyro.
>jotaro is so autistic does anyone have the images on which they show he is autistic?
i get your point, but it looks like with big shows with a big fanbase there's allways people theorycrafting about stuff over and over again, see the eva threads, the show ended almost 20 years ago and we still have daily threads, i know about the rebuilds but that still was like a year ago.
Central America you uneducated piece of shit.
Joseph pulls wacky insane jojo tricks after five volumes of jonathan being kenshiro, which leaves an impression
espically since part 2 is ALL ABOUT joseph, the rest of the heroes are very blatant side characters and ceasar/lisa lisa only get a handful of really short fights and otherwise only exist so joseph can ripple more better-er
from then on jojo's becomes more of an ensemble show with large stretches where the jojo doesn't really do much until part 7/8, which are hidden behind the deadly barriers of duwang and part 5 babelfish translations
how is saying that the fanbase has gotten shittier since the anime 「bait」? I am stating that lately constant threads have been popping up, for a series that is monthly, and wont have another animation until 2 months from now. if there is nothing to discuss, then there is no point for the thread. but people keep making them, they keep saying the same stupid shit. I, for one, blame the sudden income of animeonly fans, that obviously lack knowledge of the rest of the series.
are you saying capcom were animefags back in fucking 1999
Pat and Woolie need to stop liking stands and embrace superior ripples.
I'm glad Jojo has no dousing. Well I don't specifically look for it because I'm afraid it may destroy the "Bizarre" aspect that I had for the series, and so it's the only eastern piece of media that I haven't masturbated to.
I remember that from the part Rohan burned down his house.
If you seriously think anime/manga/video games have only JUST RECENTLY started referencing jojo constantly you are a dumbass
its Katawa JoJo
that would be speedobandwagoning, just because eva does that kind of shit, I dont think jojo should as well. also there are way less eva threads lately than there have been jojo. let me bring an example of what I mean, the bakemonogatari series of animes has constant threads about it when its airing, but like now, it goes pretty silent while off the air. I feel like that is an ideal way to keep the discussion fresh, for it to only happen while there is some actual new info to use.
I didn't say they JUST started, I am saying that it was far less common before, and there has certainly been a sudden raise in the number of jojo references in the last year. at the same time, this is also due to every single new fan SCREAMING "JOJO REFEEEREENCEE" at any posing, like with zelda in smash bros 4. her poses aren't any reference to jojo, they are just damn poses, but for the first week she was shown, every single guy had to fucking show up and put a fucking jotaro hat on her and scream "JOJO POSE, JOJO ALERT, FABULOUS THREAD NOW". seriously, jojo is indeed fabulous, but its obnoxious when every single thing called fabulous starts a jojo conversation.
>One of the few female characters exerting her sexuality in a non exaggerated manner for only her own gratification
This fetish is suffering. It's impossible to find anything like this in 2D or even 3D. Futafags have it easy
they're exactly as common as they were before, lurk more. jojo's is the 8th longest running manga in the world
also what are jokes
it seems like you're just upset that more then 5 people in the west enjoy the deep subtitles of male models punching each-other now
I think the picture where she appeared to be commanding the knight in a similar way to a stand was the main reason for people saying her poses were jojo-like
>implying you wont blow your load to the joseph/mariah doujins that are soon to come
I remember one time I accidentally glanced over a gallery tat had Lisa Lisa in it. I was horrified at the proportions, and I. The type of person that can fap to character even if their proportions such as tits and ass are too big.
>Wanting to fap to ANYTHING in the pure world of everybody having a PHD in every subject as soon as they hit puberty
Jojolion is worst arc, Vento Auero was more interesting than this, how can you go from an action packed story like SBR to this snorefest.
I don't like what you're implying
I second this
The number of JoJo references is still the same as it's ever been. Shit even stuff that was written before it references it.
Admittedly fans can be retarded at times so I guess you're right there. Like that whole debate about whether Mako in that ep of KLK was a Jotaro reference, shit that got retarded really quickly and stayed that way a lot longer than it should have,
It's just got a slow pace, this added to the fact that it's monthly now makes it seem more boring than it is, if you read it all in one go, you'd be much more engaged
How many threads is it until you can blanket term them all as shitposting? The complaint of "There's no chapter out this week, why are you making threads?" Has never made sense to me. How many KLK threads are there in every hour of every day? Don't you think the points were discussed to death already after the first day of a new episode?
If you're really that upset about JoJo threads, just filter JoJo in the catalog of something. The thread on /vg/ is useless and full of waifushit and general shitposting, like every thread in /vg/. While you think these threads are as bad as that, they really aren't anywhere near that bad.
With SDC getting closer to airing, it's only natural that more threads are going to be made. Though I do agree it's best to have one JoJo thread at a time. But honestly I think that for every franchise. There doesn't need to be 5 different KLK threads, or Log Horizon or whatever.
Stuff like this is part of why I don't understand all the part 4 love on /a/
I can't imagine reading half of that shit one chapter per week.
I mean jesus christ, getting itallian food would've taken an entire month
>not liking Part 4
It seems we have drifted away from the main point I was trying to establish, that the fanbase has taken a turn for the worse, and these threads along with it, have turned into shallow, discussion less blackholes that just accumulates the same subjects over and over again. I don't have the ability to stop them, but I hope that these posts can help people realize that until april, jojo is a monthly manga, and to have daily threads for it is not only pointless, but also shows a bad image.
part 4 is cool but it's not HOLY SHIT THE BEST PART EVER the way everyone on /a/ wants to pretend it is
I mean, maybe you're really into the pseudo slice of life thing it had going on or whatever, I understand differing tastes, but it has issues
I don't think anyone really thinks about finished/completed manga in that way. i enjoyed it when I read it, that was good enough for me (shit man imagine reading Kaiji 2's Bog arc when it was being serialised, people might have died waiting for stuff to happen). It does effect your perception of pacing of ongoing parts though.
main difference between jojo having daily threads and KLK having daily threads is that jojo is (until april) a 「monthly」manga, and as such there is a big wait between new waves of information. KLK is a currently ongoing 「weekly」 anime, and even if not everyone likes it, one of the big ones of the season, the waves of information are 4 times more often, and because of the constant "based trigger what will they think of next" there are constant fights about diferent theories, and other things, people making bets on next episode's death count, OTP confirmation, all the shitposting that comes with KLK, makes threads way faster and while stupid, full of actual discussion. I agree that the general is not in anyways gureto, but if people desire to talk about jojo 24/7, thats the way to go.
/a/, with JoJo at least is always really vocal so it seems like and overwhelming opinion that a part is the favorite. I love part 4, but I actually enjoyed part 6 more. Part 6 gets a lot of vocal hate on /a/ lately, but there's still plenty who like it
so... does anyone have the jojo version of this pic?
wow, that was fast thanks you!
benefit of having your pics sorted
oh man, you SURE got me with that reaction image, oh man. I am not even being disrespectful to anyone in particular, I just find these threads as a problem, not the people in it. you guys can discuss the same amazing and fresh subjects such as "guys josuke's hair is awesome", "how does red ruler work?, what about the scarlet emperor?", "joseph is best jojo, pointless opinions time" and who can forget "part 5 is shit, and if you like it you are shit too" with the classical sidedish of "but its just the translation, they will fix it, eventually!"
Based on most of the threads I've seen I've always thought the general consensus was that Steel Ball Run was most people's favourite part, and I always thought that people were more vocal about liking Part 2 than Part 4
>tfw really enjoyed Part 1 but everyone rnaks it last or one before last
>tfw people don't like Fist of the North Star: Vampires at Eton edition
I can see your point, but I still wouldn't ever direct someone to take their discussion to /vg/. That's where topics go to die. I've tried to talk JoJo with them, and after waiting a half hour the only response was "lol go play Persona kid, you're not a real JoJo fan like us."
There can be plenty of discussion still in JoJo threads, and I think the quality would be a lot better if it was contained to just one rather than several others. Can't be helped I guess because you can't force people to not be retarded and to check the catalog.
Arguments and theory discussion can still take place frequently, especially with the semi-glacial release schedule of JoJolion. It's not always the same thing of shit like 'which jojo would u jojo', which I agree is retarded and might as well go to /vg/ where they don't really discuss anything.
Really I guess my point is that it should still have a place here since the topic is anime/manga, and people are getting into JoJo all the time. When we have a good healthy thread, it can stay alive for a day or more. I think if that happened more often with less other threads that die in an hour, it'd work out better for everyone
Coco jumbo vs jousuke who wins
Really, I'm with you. I loved Phantom Blood. But I don't think people are shitting on it when they list it last or near the end. It just simply can't compete with the later parts. That's more of a fact. It's just not long enough. Even if part 3 isn't the resident favorite part, everyone has their own favorite fights or arcs from it. Not as much in PB, because of how short it is. If it was as long as the rest of the arcs, or hell even as long as BT I think you'd see it higher on lists all around.
Steel Ball Run is pretty much unamimously loved in the West though, no way around that. I thought it was just hype until I read it. Though I do believe BT is only as popular as it is because of how well done the anime was.
not long enough, main character was generic shounen anime hero, pointless child character, etc
oh, don't get me wrong, I love me some jojo threads, and I always welcome them in /a/, but jojo doesn't currently have enough going on for it for someone to say "last thread died go next go go go", or "didn't see one on the front page, JOJO THREAD".
well, its nice too see that someone can actually answer with dignity here, instead of 「bait」calling or reaction image 'ing. I'm glad we found a point of agreement.
What's happening here?
>tfw people don't like Fist of the North Star: Vampires at Eton edition
>tfw I buyed my first Jojo volume because I thought he was Kenshiro
I read the manga a while back
Now I've started watching the adaption
Was the first part always this bad?
The guard walked in on her masturbating.
Battle Tendency was always popular, even before the anime. I liked it but I never got the massive amount of hype for it, I don't personally think that it's so much better than Part 1, it's about the same for me.
>main character was generic shounen anime hero
>In a time where there wasn't enough shounen fighting manga around to have a generic shounen anime hero
I liked Jonathan because he learned chinese sun kung-Fu from an Italian sailor to fight his adopted vampire brother. I'm pretty easy to please that way. I also think Part 1 had the best protag and antag development but it benefited from having a smaller cast in that respect.
Yep. I don't think most topics outside of something just happening, like an episode or a chapter coming out, deserve a new thread just because the old one died. That was my initial problem with /jojog/ when ASB started dying down, new threads would get made immediately after hitting bump limit even though no one was really talking.
But anyway, I agree that there's no point in making threads for the sake of making them. As long as there's a good response inside them and actual talking, that's enough for me. JoJo doesn't need to be on the front page or have a thread 24/7, but as long as there's a place here for me to discuss it
Pointless child character? You mean Poco? While he was pointless, he's not nearly as bad as Runaway Girl. And while Jonathan is flat compared to later JoJos, I really believe his pure goodness and gentlemanly ways make him just as good as the rest. If anything he's the template I compare the rest to at first.
It's better now, since when the anime came out Jonathan was unique for being very 80s and pure good compared to all the modern archetypes of heroes. It's different, but not worse. Then again, I like Kenshiro and moralfag heroes.
Which group is the one working on a HQ release of Stone Ocean vol 1, anyway?
just face the fact that Jonathan didn't have any personality outside of "I must be a gentleman and kill Dio"
>He doesn't want to be a Gentleman
>He doesn't want to kill Dio
Are you a vampire anon?
I thought his personality fitted the character, you wouldn't expect a kid from a pre-WWI upper class english family to be a platinum Edgemaster like MCs are today (it also highlights how damn old the manga is).
And he had some pretty manly moments:
What do you mean he doesn't want to be a gentleman? that's why he looked up to his father and why he grew up to be the way he was.
Also what do you mean he doesn't want to kill Dio? that was the entire motivation for his character.
You are right about me being a vampire though
You can sum up every JoJo like that. Here, I'll try
Joseph "I must be a trickster and stop the Pillar Men."
Jotaro "I must be stoic and kill Dio."
Josuke: "I must have great hair and protect everyone"
Giorno: "I must be a gangstar"
Jolyne: "I must have daddy issues and stop Pucci"
Johnny: "I need the secret of Gyro's balls"
Gappy: "Who the fuck am I?"
people complain about the part 1 artstyle for the anime but tell me
you would fuck young dio
the difference is, that I can actually think of other aspects of each of their personalities, with Jonathan being a gentleman is the only thing I can associate with him.
I was implying both of things about you, not Jonathan.
Vampires, not even once.
But you're implying that the fact he's a simple character means he's worse than the others. Dio is the exact same. He's just an evil asshole, and that's about it. Everyone from part 1 is like that. It can be a bad draw if you feel like you need depth all the time, or it has it's own charm.
I guess a good comparison would be someone liking Star Wars for how it's just good vs evil and that's that.
Star Wars is total shit so I don't see why you thought it was a good idea to bring it up.
So Gappy likes having four balls, right?
Whatever you say buddy
ah, in that case I apologise for being so aggressive
I get the appeal for simplicity in characters, but after the later parts I can only feel that part 1 is lacking, possibly due to how short it is.
It's inevitable that PB is lacking compared to the other parts, if only because of how short it is. If it was a bit longer and about more than just Jonathan vs Dio or Jonathan wailing on some zombies, it would hold up better. But how short it was holds it back. I still think it has a charm in the simplicity of it, especially since parts 6 and after that where the villians are morally gray.
I think that aspect of it's story is more a reflection on the time it was written in, Not that there weren't some complex or ambiguous villains then either, but not so many.
it doesn't matter what it could have been, what matters is what it is, and what it is, is a story that doesn't have enough depth to compare to later stories from the same manga
Okay, you got me. Five years ago when I first read Part 2 the reason I liked Joseph the most is because I'm an anime only fag.
I think when you compare PB to the rest of the parts, you're missing the point a bit. They're all different, and they all build off of each other. It's why nobody skips parts. Especially with Phantom Blood, it can't be compared. Even if it is simple, it's not a bad part. And if you want to argue it's bad because it isn't as long as others, or didn't do parts of the story in the same way of the others, it's ignoring the fact that PB is the groundwork that Araki builds everything else off of.
Without him playing around with Jonathan and Dio, you'd never get the great characters later on. So if you're saying it's shit, you're then arguing that the base for JoJo is shit. You can't hold it up to Steel Ball Run and ask, "Why isn't Phantom Blood as good as Steel Ball Run?" and not just that, but the time it's written in like >>101753367 was saying.
Even then, JoJo pushed some limits. The fact that the whole thing is entirely in Britain, with no half-japanese characters or anything, would be a big deal now, even more in the 80s. You have to consider the timeframe of it instead of saying it's bad because of lack of depth
At least you owned up to it. You probably have a stand that lets you watch anime from the future
>The fact that the whole thing is entirely in Britain, with no half-japanese characters or anything, would be a big deal now, even more in the 80s
I think Araki once commented how he was surprised he could get away with this. Was there even any Japanese people in Part 2? I can't remember any off the top of my head.
This. Part 3 gave fairly equal space to each of the party members, and Part 4 has long sections that don't even have Josuke in them. Be it an ally character like Koichi or Rohan, or even lengthy scenes with only the villain, Kira.
The spotlight is shifted around in Post-BT JoJo. And since almost all the characters are great, it keeps one from really standing out as much.
In BT though, Joseph takes the fucking stage. He's 99% of the focus and he vastly out does the other characters in terms of charisma. BT has some great side characters, but they don't hold a candle to Joseph.
I didn't say I didn't enjoy or even thought that part 1 was bad, I just thought that Jonathan was a boring protagonist.
>Was there even any Japanese people in Part 2?
The closest thing I recall was Dio's chink manservant
Nope, The first Japanese character in JoJo was Jotaro, and he's only half.
Ah that made me laugh more than I thought it would.
technically that's part 3, the end of the anime included a section from part 3 as a teaser
Sometimes I wonder if Joseph's hatred of Japanese is a joke Araki made because he was annoyed at editors pressuring him to make JoJo more Japan-focused for sales
THE GOOKS FEAR THE HAMON
the airport scene happened in part 2
for some reason my mind just separates parts based on when the villains died
So for you Part 8 started with High Voltage?
If it was it kind of backfired a little bit because the first part with a half Jap JoJo basically prints money for him. but then so does Italian JoJo.
I think part 7 ends as soon as diego dies.
Plus he seems to really like Part 4, even if it's not as popular in Japan. Basically, I don't know what goes on in that guys head. Maybe he just likes to write whatever he feels like, and didn't like feeling restrained by what the average otaku wanted to read. Could be why Steel Ball Run ran for so long when it didn't sell very well
I vaguely remember some translated interview between some magazine and either an editor or former editor of Shounen Jump and when they asked what manga he would be most afraid of cancelling he said JJBA and that he would be terrified of having to tell Araki that it's over.
I think he's got the seniority, sales, fanbase and influence such that he can basically write and draw what he wants and they'll only finish it when he decides. I figure it's kind of like Togashi with SJ and Muira with YA, or maybe Hirano with whatever magazine he's in now, how that fat lazy bastard ever manages to get work is mystery despite his manga being alright.
araki is allways writting whatever the fuck he wants
>hey let's make our protagonists name not japanese!
>fuck that, let's make the whole manga take place somewhere that's not japan!
>so it's taboo to kill the main character? well too bad
>again not in japan bitches!
>yeah, let's take away the hamon, screw the hamon, it's guardian spirits with super powers time!
>so you people wanted part 3 to be more japan oriented? ok it will start in japan, that's the best i can do.
I love part 4 with all my heart and I agree. It must have been hell going through some of the arcs on a weekly release.
surely an author getting the freedom to write whatever they want is the best way to create a great piece of fiction.
On the other hand, it might be shit. Which seems to be why for every one innovative author you get, you find a lot of other play it safe by taking influences from them in their own work. Like how for a while everything was a FotNS clone, or how everything a bit later than that started of like Dragonball.
>your next line will be "uuuuuhh i'm coming!"
Is it common knowledge that a lot of the Yu-Gi-Oh manga was ripped off from Jojo?
Part way through 5 but ... well it's a weird thing to keep thinking about but there's a a lot more smoking in 3 than any of the others. Is there a reason, some cultural thing if the times?
It is, but creative freedom isn't the norm in manga, despite what some weebs might think. Otherwise we might see more mangas where the mangaka self-edits, or something like that. Ultimately the editor and the magazine have a say, but I do think at this point Araki gets a lot more freedom than most mangakas, because of how long he's been working and how successful he is.
Plus some people are afraid of him, for some reason.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking of, but I was too lazy to go up the thread and find it. And last week I read part of a manga where the mangaka was talking about how he recently did a cooking segment on television with Araki, and was really surprised by how nice and energetic he is.
It really makes me wonder what kind of reputation he has in manga circles.
Well Araki plagiarizes so much that there is an entire wiki devoted to it.That art was probably stolen from some fashion magazine.
At that point, with that example at least, he's added in so much that it would be more of a reference, I think. Plus it's hard to care after the really weird 9/11 bits.
He sure likes to "reference" Umezu.
Authors do that a lot. "Reference" that is.
Superficially, there are similarities between Stardust Crusaders and the Yu gi oh manga.
>Both the main characters(Jotaro and Yugi/Yami) where blue trench coat like school uniforms with a chain like accessory around their neck.
>Both series have a fascination with Egyptian mythology, as well as cards (Tarot cards in Jojo and Duel Monsters in Yu g ioh)
>Both main characters have a close relationship with their grandfather. Both grandfathers where adventurers in their younger days.
Also, there is some influence of Diamond is Unbreakable also.
>Yugi, Mokuba and Koichi Hirose (withdrawn, short, bullied and has bad luck with women)
>Tristan Taylor/Joey Weeler and Josuke/Okuyasu (Lovable goofs with a hearts of gold)
>Kiba and Rohan Kishibie (Rich upper class snobs who are obsessed with "defeating" the main who they consider to be low class)
Of coarse these comparisons aren't perfect, but even on the back of my Viz volumes of Jojo they make the comparison saying the Manga author was influenced.
What subs should I use for the 2012-2013 anime?
There's rule 34 of Jojo, but not a lot of straight rule 34.
Most of it's gay pairings of Jotaro/Kakyoin or gender bend lesbian porn.
>People calling Bite the Dust Killer Queen
>reading other faggot's manga
>OH FUCK, GHOSTS LOOK AWESOME WHEN ON TOP OF PEOPLE
>FUCK LITTLE GIRLS, I WANT KENSHIRO
now we just have to find out what manga did araki rip off killing all dogs ever
>tfw my barrier is part 6
I'm just tired of the "battle of the week" pace
Same, but it makes SBR better.
I feel like Part 6 really picks up when Green Baby shows up.
Anywhere I can get Duwang .srt/ass?
I don't want to redownload entire episodes
Araki is 2subtle4me.
No idea, sorry.
Nope, only full episodes, but don't even bother, it gets old really quickly and you probably already saw all the good ones on images like that
this one always gets me
There is only one choice.
/r/ing some screencaps of Commie release
Let's see these translated sfx everyone was going on about. I watched gg
Why the fuck would anyone watch JoJo with gg.
Because I'd already read the manga.
And the cor blimey stuff wasn't that distracting and I liked the foreign lingo splashed in.
Do you hate alliterations or something?
>you will never chant SONO CHI NO SADAME with over 10k people
