This is the best Gintama episode.
Prison harem. I'd read it.
I don't know why I find shoulder pads so funny.
Which one? They did that twice didn't they?
That was funny as shit.
I need to rewatch it some time.
That prisoner guy is the best Gintama character behind Jackie Chan.
>we'll add some wardrobe malfunction to make the kiddies hard
Katsura revolutionizing prison is better, imo. But >>101704149
I just realized that with the chapters about Madao and the prisoner and half of Katsura's stuff, Gintama's comedy chapters are basically an SOL, but good. Those Madao chapters man. They hit hard.
Could Madao join the joei or shinsengumi? He obviously has some skill in fighting.
Hijikata would have him committing seppuku before he even got his foot through the door if he didn't get his shit together.
And government employ is probably the last thing Madao wants to end up in again, don't you remember his first episode?
He was orginally supposed to be a part of the shinsengumi.
Yeah but the Shinsengumi have shown that they don't entirely bow down to suck Amanto dick like other government branches. Besides, Madao has shown that he can stop trying to kill himself long enough to get his shit together, although everything would go wrong for him for reasons out of his control as soon as he did. Anyways what about the Joei, he doesn't interact with Katsura enough, I think they'd be pretty funny.
Really? Like as in he would've quit his job with them, or join them or he would've just been a very pathetic Shinsengumi?
As long as the series is on going he will never get his shit together, that is his character. All of his jokes are about how shit his life is. If he did get his shit together he would probably stop being a recurring character and I love Madao.
I couldn't see him getting shit together unless the series ended where all the recurring characters would have happy endings.
I don't even want a happy ending. I just want him to have a win for once that doesn't end up with him being suicidal again.
But he did have win. Remember the arc where he helped the single mother and son. Sure he ended up homeless and alone again but he happy
Hey. Just asking. When will Gintama anime come back?
Original Shinesengumi included Gintoki, fem Okita, Shinpachi (no glasses), and Madao before they changed their characters.
Right when he was about to become a normal person and have an actual family the dad comes back and he has to do the right thing and go back to the box. That's depressing. I mean he did the right thing and helped them, and I guess he's friends with the kid now but overall he still got fucked over in an anticlimax kind of way.
His sister? Also was that back when Gin was basically supposed to be Hijikata or somewhere inbetween that and the final version?
He didnt want the family though, just to help them and he did help them by getting the father back. He has his own family he wants to reconnect with. It was a pretty shitty deal ill admit but he seemed satisfied and happier at the end than he was before he met the family.
Original draft also had Hijikata as MC iirc
No Okita was originally meant to be a girl with Kagura's umbrella ,and Gintoki was one of the two commanders of the Shinsengumi, the other being Madao.
>Okita was originally meant to be a girl with Kagura's umbrella
Imagine how /a/ would respond to that. Also that kind of explains why Kagura and him hate each other.
>tfw re-reading the manga and am getting very close to the yoshiwara in flames arc
can't fucking wait
Gintoki and Madao look great there.
The very end of that episode was brilliant
Plus we got to see more of Katsura's overactive imagination
So that will always be one of my favourite episodes
How does this show make filler good?
You got that wrong anon.
In Gintama, actual serious arcs are the filler.
Because they do whatever they want regardless of any consequences
Like I loved that episode where they waste 10 minutes explaining common filler scenarios in other anime, or the the introduction to episode 94
And they're really good. They make filler good.
How many times have they used that opening sequence with them talking about the new year?
How many times did they fake the ending of the anime before that Shonen Jump mascot came in
You got me there, what can I say.
It's weird when you check how many good filler episodes there are
Before? Like 3. After? 4? Maybe 5?
I love how they make fake trailers for shit, or suggest something like rerunning popular episodes and eventually Sunrise actually does it. I still haven't seen the second movie though, but it's the same as that second fake trailer right?
You can't even tell the difference, no real drop in quality between the filler and adapted ones.
>I still haven't seen the second movie though
Fix that it's great
>I love how they make fake trailers for shit
Well this pisses me of so much, because I'm desperate for a full Shiroyasha Koutan movie
>Fix that it's great
Is it actually about young Gintoki?
It's complicated so you should just check it out for yourself
It's worth watching, telling anymore would be spoiling
Wait did they make that first anti-piracy thing too or was that a pre existing thing that they parodied?
I'm guessing it's a pre-existing thing the movie was just parodying
It's a real thing, the characters are even getting figurines
Why can't American production companies make anti piracy ads good enough to warrant figures? I'm tired of seeing that same fucking thing with the shoplifter over and over.
My god, it's glorious.
>dat future Elizabeth
I'm not sure how to describe this series' art style.
I watched the movie in Japan, and it was the first time seeing those anti-piracy ads as well -
my fucking sides during the first few minutes of the movie
Just finished the second movie. Felt like one of the serious arcs only with gag sequences in the opening and ending, and some weird as fuck time fuckery that may or may not actually make sense.
>Best Gintama episode not being the multiple marriage episodes
>Which one? They did that twice didn't they?
I fucking loved how they just decided to make the anti-piracy guy a character for the movie.
Not only was he a character, he was an integral part of the plot.
Shit like that, is what makes Gintama so great.
I read some rumors on 2chan last week, saying that there is a good chance for it to come back this year.
They said there is enough material for at least 2 cours.
I love how they made the last fight scene actually intense even though the plot pretty much stopped making sense like ten minutes earlier.
It was funny but it wasn't my favorite
Who's the guy on the far left?
Anime better than the manga?
I'm actually kind of upset how many of the episodes I thought would be canon aren't.
Aside from the manga leaving a few good chapters out, probably. It's got filler that's just as good as the comedy chapters + VAs and a soundtrack. Plus the anime has a few other meta gags that they don't do in the manga, like those fake movie trailers that later become real and the new years sequence thing.
Really? When did they mention that?
>They said there is enough material for at least 2 cours.
I could have told you that. Hell anybody reading the manga could have.
The rumors are only important if there is a veritable source behind them.
>Every fucking thread
Random guy from the panels Gorilla drew who got lucky because of his central position in the huddle, who knows he might make him a proper character later?
Anime greatly superior but leaves out some great chapters.
Watch the anime and then read the manga which is pretty good in it's own right.
Best subs for Gintama? I tried multiple but none could seem to beat the 25gb season 1-5 (IIRC) from Demonid. Lost them and cant remember what subs they were.
They had everything i wanted, TL on top for all references and the such, translated background talking, and Honorifics
Is there a list on what chapter/arcs that isnt animated?
I wonder if Sorachi spun the basic ideas/contributed for those or were those entirely in studio creations.
I love how even the entirely referential stuff is pretty funny without knowing the reference, because of how they use the gags.
It's pretty great there is still some unadapted chapters plus they changed some gags.
>implying Madao would get a happy ending
It'd get even worse.
Hey, that old dude he hangs out with got a happy ending. Sort of.
I wonder if there'll be an episode or two where everyone's in their original roles.
They could do something like that alien mole episode at the start of the season, and just have everyone pretend it's a different show, or have amnesia and end up like that for an episode.
That is not the episode where Shinpachi kisses a weird monster head. That episode was fucking hilarious man.
>Shinpachi (no glasses)
B-but Shinpachi is the glasses
Oh god that was so fucked up.
He looks just like Kondou.
[Rumbel] ? You can find it on BakaBT
New episodes when?
When you decide to read the manga.
I was just talking out my ass
The weirdest thing about it is that he had Shouyo-sensei's voice.
Which chapters has the anime left out? I only remember the one about Kimura Kaela.
