I imagine using E-cigs might be good for people who have never smoked regular cigarettes.

But as someone who has smoked 1-2 cigarettes a day for the past few years, I tried quitting with an e-cig and while it helps manage withdrawal symptoms, it doesn't really feel like you are smoking at all. I lasted 2 weeks.

>>101703310
God, I fucking hate smokers who use that "we're all gonna die anyway" defense mechanism when you get on their case. The reality is, unless genetically predisposed to some kind of disease or cancer, a person with a reasonably healthy lifestyle will probably outlive a smoker by more than a decade if not two or three, not mention the smoker will spend his life coughing and choking and die with black tar-infested lungs and a strained heart. If you wanna kill yourself, be my guest, but don't be a retard about it at the same time, please.

I like my soda heavy on the carbonation. I will not drink flat soda because it tastes disgusting and sryupy. It's a balance between the sugary and the carbonation tastes that makes it great. This sounds like bullshit to me. The only possible mechanisms I can see for sugar being harmful are if it gets converted into fat and starts clogging blood vessels or causes you to develop diabetes. Usually it just gets broken down into glucose and used as fuel or stored as glycogen in the liver/muscle tissue.
>>
>>101705432
Yes but "soft drinks" is an established meaning beyond carbonated drinks, it just happens that many places only serve soft drinks that are carbonated drinks. Alcohol is still called a "hard drink" just like when you want to refer to Cider with alcoholic content you call it "hard cider" to differentiate it from "soft cider". It's a useful dichotomy and it needs to be preserved.

Really you can't win when it comes to drinks; you can buy soda and get fucked over on sugar, you can buy sugarless soda and get fucked over on taste (and often the sweeteners are worse for you than real sugar; dat fucking aspartame), you can go with alcohol instead but that opens an entirely different set of health risks.

The only truly viable options are expensive pure fruit juices with no sugar added or straight water. I love water as much as the next man, but drinking water with every meal is unacceptable, and sparkling water tastes like ass. I guess there's tea too...but I'm not really a tea guy. Milk is nice but it tends to give you the shits as you age.

There's still a ton of natural sugar in these, so again, they should be taken in moderation
