>There is now an entire generation of /a/ who hasn't seen Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo, and refuse to watch it because we've labelled it AS "entry level pleb shit"
>being this assmad
Who are you quoting?
Please kill yourself.
Bebop is shit. I don't care about Champloo.
Non Non Biyori >>>>>>>>>>>> Shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cowboy Bebop
Been on /a/ for 8 years. Have not watched Cowboy Bebop.
I love both. Come at me
So? /a/ isn't some bastion of people with good taste.
>wanting the new generation of /a/ in your old anime thread
Do you really want a "Kill la Kill thread"-style GitS thread?
It is entry level pleb shit though.
There's nothing great about either. It's just easily digested and episodic like western cartoons. The problem is newbies to the hobby want to skip straight through.
GitS was garbage, kid.
Is /a/'s new hivemind opinion that everything prior to 2000 that was considered great is now garbage?
Go back to your toonami containment thread.
No, it's just a recently absorbed part of the hivemind which hasn't seen anything before that year. As such part of the hivemind becomes bigger and bigger their opinions becomes the hivemind itself ones.
Sad part is that there are people who take this seriously.
>It's just easily digested and episodic
Is there an anime that isn't? Even something like Lain or Texhnolyze is episodic and very easy to digest by anyone older than the age of 11.
Unless you're watching something nutty like Angel's Egg or something, you can't argue to me the shows you watch aren't episodic and easily digested.
Except it's true.
One general distinction made in /a/'s preferences is for shows which don't appeal to Western tastes. Therefore shows that gain Western popularity are regarded with suspicion.
SC was mediocre except for the 5 episodes they decided to allocate money to
You are disgrace to the family.
I disown you.
Everybody who gives a shit about other people's opinions, especially on an anonymous image board, is either a girl or should kill himself. There's a limit on how far social pressure should influence you.
That said, I enjoyed Samurai Champloo but dropped Cowboy Bebop on the first episode. Sue me.
/a/ lies, if they mention it. It's worth a gander regardless of their opinion of it.
Just saying that I didn't refuse to watch it because /a/ somehow recently convinced me that it's "entry level pleb shit".
>very easy to digest
I'll give you the episodic part but Texhnolyze stretches the limits of compassion fatigue from the audience and lain takes a couple of watches to take it all in.
Shitloads of modern Chinese cartoons are episodic though or mostly so, so I don't know what this faglord you replied to's point is. I bet he doesn't like CCS either.
I hope nobody seriously lets /a/ color their opinions like that. I still haven't watched either but I'm still going to at some point.
I tried watching it for an episode.
It was boring. Unique, sure, even well executed, but definitely not my thing.
Old /a/ needs to stop acting like we need to watch everything they did. As if every person is going to be able to get something worth it out of every anime.
Cowboy Bebop is shit.
You're a fagot
I've been into anime for about 13 years without having watched LoGH and Monster because it was before my time.
I started both and got stuck 20 and 10 episodes in respectively for no particular reason. Only recently did I pick them up again and have made it half-way through, realising how truly awesome and amazing they both are.
Bebop was a true masterpiece of its generation and the music in Champloo was top tier. Both should be compulsory viewing.
I like Samurai Champloo but I dropped Cowboy.
I really don't think enough people actually listen to /a/ for that to even be remotely true
This. Champloo is better than Bebop in every way. Bebop was just more successful everywhere
Good point. Items that are widely discussed far after their time have staying power. They did something unique or executed what had already been done in an even better way. It's like literature. Just because you don't particularly like an author's works doesn't mean that they are not worth considering. I enjoy anime from both the perspective as a casual viewer but also somebody who appreciates the history and development of the genre. Writing off important works as "shit" or "pleb tier" just because they were popular is ignorant.
I just feel sorry for who ever feels like they need to "follow /a/" or be "in with /a/". /a/ is good for news about animu and mango and thats really about it.
I enjoy the lack of youngsters in my Bebop threads. I fail to see the problem here.
I saw the ENTIRE Cowboy Bebop AND the movie, and can only conclude that only the VA's were good. That's it.
Afro Samurai > Samurai Shampoo
>Taking /a/ seriously
How about you think for yourself? Don't just form opinions based on what others tell you, that's how cancer happens.
They can just download the soundtracks.
I've watched them. They were entry level pleb shit.
Eh, they're okay. It's not like they're missing out on something amazing or anything.
anime isn't a genre
The medium, my bad
Both are animation of the highest quality and you should watch them precisely because you lot like anime. Same with Eva.
Anime IS a genre. It's a genre of cartoons.
you know it's true
are cartoons a genre?
Both are shit and you need to take your first crappy iyashikei back to /v/
Samurai Champloo is in my backlog I'll have you know since you somehow give a fuck.
yes,a genre of visual arts.
Cowboy Bebop is overrated anyways. Good for them, at least they will not be biased when watching their shows.
>Afro Samurai > Samurai Shampoo
10/10 I kinda raged
Leave the old anime in the closet. This is the new generation, we dont need the old timers to bring up shit thats been dead for decades.
Also normies cluttering the site with dead anime is worse than autists discussing about latest anime.
>Also normies cluttering the site with dead anime is worse than autists discussing about latest anime.
The opposite is a far better scenario. Those chinks will never come up with anything better like those titles mentioned in this thread or other older series. Why even try? Either only watch the good stuff ( the old stuff ) or watch other medium and get away from anime.
Uh.. I don't believe you, OP.
Shut up retard.
Theres a board for your taste. Its called /co/.
Anyone who says Cowboy Bebop is shit it's because they're autistic hipsters. Fuck you all and die a horrible death. I'm not even a fanboy, but no one can deny that it's an excellent anime.
What? How did you get that from my post?
Cowboy bebop is shit.
I'm an autist.
I'm already dead.
Fuck you and your shit taste.
Actually NNB style and characters are better than CB style and characters.
Me too /a/non, me too.
>Anyone who says Cowboy Bebop is shit it's because they're autistic hipsters.
Actually CB is not bad but also is not far from average thus not mention worthy, CB also attracts several cancerous types of /v/ermin and alikes.
/a/ is pretty tsundere about anything they actually like
Bebop was shit though.
You can't into English, it seems. Anon said /a/ DIDN'T form his opinions.
Is the set of all genres a genre?
>/a/ is one person
> no one can deny that it's an excellent anime.
Nope, you're definitely a fanboy.
this thread is made of bait and aids
Cowboy Bebop has best Pink Floyd cover ever recorded, and probably the best use of a Pink Floyd song in general.
If no one mentioned NNB it's "take your entry level cowboy bebop shit back to /v/" etc
/v/ just loves everything don't they?
Yeah, a genre of things that exist
>/a/ is a hivemind
>/v/ just loves everything don't they?
They love everything that isn't video gaymes. What a surprise.
