what does /a/ think about the more unorthodox series like Bartender? I personally like how the anime plays out more like an anthology of stories rather than a serious plot. But both the anime and manga are good in their own right.
Half the reason I started drinking was because of this series [\spoiler]
It was a phenomenal series. Instilled some serious respect for liquor in me. I like how the entire show feels like a screenplay.
I don't like alcohol, but I like Bartender and bartending. It was done pretty well.
One of my favourite anime ever. Everything is soothing as fuck. From the Ost to the narrator's voice.
Godlike OP and ED.
And some stories make you stop for a second and think what is being said and how that affects your life. The one story of the salaryman with the asshole boss felt especially great because of that reason.
the OP was great.
I had to take my time with it, not something i can watch 3 episodes back to back of, but it really was enjoyable and i miss watching one episode before sleep
I found the anime very enjoyable even thou I quit drinking years ago.
Was about to make a thread about this, such a comfy fucking show.
I loved Bartender, I was also surprised by the fact that I found all the alcohol trivia pretty interesting and I don't even drink
Are there any other shows like this? With the same sort of laid back feel to them? I'm a little tired of constant explosions, hyperactive characters, panty shots, and tits everywhere.
Fuck you guys, my backlog is big enough already
pic related is pretty fucking cozy
Ristorante Paradiso? It thought it had a a bit more drama than Bartender, but felt the same kinda vibe from them
No this series is getting bumped to the head of the queue.
This series has the kind of soundtrack you can simply sit and listen to.
Hyouge Mono isn't all that laid back, but it's a lot like Bartender in the aspect that you learn about something, which is tea. It's also a very oddball take on the sengoku period.
bunny drop also, just don't read the manga it's fully of dirty jap perversion
There's only an anime and a movie, Anon
Wait there's a movie?
House of Five Leaves
>bunny drop manga
Don't even mention it you whore.
Uhhh...are you joking? Google it man.
So new it hurts
It's live action, but still cute
I'm on it right after I finish SAC
Ghost in the Shell? Bartender will be a good relaxing rinse after a heavy show like that.
I'm not new I've been here since winter break fagget
>anime plays out more like an anthology of stories rather than a serious plot
I feel like more dramas mangaka to try this instead of trying to push a shitty plotline.
Pic related, anime was good before they started focusing solely on Fumika's backstory.
I would laugh if I didn't think on the back of my head you're just not clever.
I don't understand this sentence am I just being stupid or is there something wrong with it? I get it's an insult but I don't really see how it all fits together per se.
you fucked up here >>101694840
Ok but I still don't get it. What does
>on the back of my head
mean. Are you trying to say "in" the back of my head?
So my joke was pretty good but you couldn't find it funny because of my earlier stupidity? Alright I think I understand now. Glad we could work through that.
really loved it.
as someone who doesn't drink, i had to try a few of the ones shown
it also has an amazing OST.
Someone ocrr some softsubs.
There's a 2TB request bount on AB
How would those of you who have read both compare the Anime version of Bartender to the Manga version.
Anime: I like the simple plot of it as opposed to some of the more action heavy series out there, and it has a wonderful soundtrack
Manga: I like the characterization of Sasakura a lot more as well as some of the stories are just plain amazing. My favorite has to be the "Saint Mothers Rum" story. It genuinely made me cry a little.
I can't drink anymore because I get ultra depressed after the effect of alcohol ends, during the down phase, because I used to drink a lot plus I've always been depressed.
But I like old Rum a lot.
I tend not to drink anymore because I always seem to run out of alcohol between the point where I can't stop drinking and the point where I've had enough to pass out, and the day after always turns to utter shit.
Don't get me wrong, I love alcohol, but the moment I run out, the rest of the night is just one long downward spiral.
Eh. Go to sleep while you're still drunk, that will save you.
If you can manage to get passed the shitty Jap acting that is.
