He's surprisingly handsome
Gama is handsome
I would a Mako's mom.
He would have wooped Gama's ass had he not answered. And he would have led the revolution too.
His voice got all cool and manly, too. Kenyuu Horiuchi has pretty good range.
How old was Gama really again? Like 22?
I think he's 2 years older than Satsuki.
This show is a barafags dream.
I'd love to see him get serious and one hit KO gama.
I want to draw lines on my face and look manly.
He was a senior in Middle School when she was a first year, so he'd be at least 3 years older.
I watch it for muscle moe
Schooling in Japan works differently.
>Kindergarten (1 year, ages 4-6)
>Elementary school (6 years, ages 5-12)
>Middle school (3 years, ages 11-15)
>High school (3 years, ages 14-18)
Depending on when in the year you were born, of course.
But standard thinking is
>Year 1: 5-6-7
>Year 2: 6-7-8
>Year 3: 7-8-9
>Year 4: 8-9-10
>Year 5: 9-10-11
>Year 6: 10-11-12
>Year 7: 11-12-13
>Year 8: 12-13-14
>Year 9: 13-14-15
>Year 10: 14-15-16
>Year 11: 15-16-17
>Year 12: 16-17-18
The youngest of these groups being people whose birthdays come after the beginning of the school year, and the oldest being people whose birthdays come before the end of the school year.
Some countries do school years differently. I live in Canada, and we had two types of Kindergarten: Junior (3-4-5) and Senior (4-5-6). We also didn't have middle school. Elementary school starts at Junior Kindergarten and extended to Grade 8, and high school starts at Grade 9. We also have an optional Grade 13 (17-18-19) in high school in Ontario, but it goes by a different name nowadays.
Anyway, Satsuki is a third year high school student, and Gamagoori is 2 years older than her. It's assumed that Satsuki is 18 (she could be 17). Gamagoori is 19, going on 20, and Ryuko is already 17, in her second year.
i liked the reference
>High school (3 years, ages 14-18)
So Gama is 20 and Satsuki is 18.
This is how it works in Canada, at least, too.
I found it utterly baffling that kids in the seventh grade would be attending the same school as kids in grade twelve when it was revealed to me by some Americans. Like, totally nuts.
Is it really universal there, or are there middle and high schools as well?
I'm not entirely familiar with the structure of the school year in Japan. For us here, it's always started in early September and ended in late June. I've heard that high school ends in May in the US, but starts in August.
But anyway, Gamagoori turns 20 later in the year, he's 19 currently. Satsuki is presumed to be 18, but could be 17, depending on when her birthday is. If only we had a timeline of dates.
Apparently most of Japan, because there's a serious lack of lewd art for her.
I don't know if it's universal. I've lived in southern Ontario for my whole life, and I only found out about school ending in May for the US within the past couple years.
The Japanese school year starts in April, IIRC
Not at all universal. I'm in Texas and we have middle school (6-8), jr high(9-10), and high school (11-12).
I learned that a long time ago, but I found it pretty surprising myself. I mean, when I was a kid, school lasted until the end of June, minimum, then started in the first week or so of September. Of course, it's a little different these days, but this idea of a full three months of summer vacation seemed a bit much.
And yet, I'm not one of those people that's in favor of year-round schooling, either, but, eh.
Hm. Well, where I live at least, it's 1-6 (elementary school), 7-9 (junior high), and 10-12 (high school). With kindergarten for a year before elementary, of course.
We never really call it 'middle school' around here, but I know it's a popular term for 'between elementary and high school', so it's what I went with.
He's still 19. No birthday episode yet.
His face reminds me of Imaishi for some reason.
He said he was 20 in ep 8.
No he said he would turn 20 very soon.
He said he was turning 20 later in the year.
I lost it when Gamagoori took a step back. What terrifying future in-laws
There's two things wrong with that, the first being that he didn't even know who they were at that point and the second being your retarded shipping.
Did he just use Kiryuin Ray
No, those were there the entire scene.
He used his raiden voice for that part.
I want to fuck mako's mom, best klk.
He reacted exactly in the same way when Mako suddently appeared behind him in episode 4.
No, when he does the, "I'd like to ask you two things," Gamagoori actually backs up a bit.
I want him to confront Tsumugu with his two pieces of useful information.
I still wish he'd fight Ira for once. But I am happy as long as he fights at all. I want to see him finally using this bullet.
Better luck next time.
>What a well-mannered family. Even the dog introduces itself.
Even Gama was impressed. Guts is a good dog. I hope Gama will save him.
>using this bullet
Assuming Satsuki's going to be transforming into her Berserk mode depending on what Ragyo does, we might just get that.
I hope he does it before Gama is kill.
Moehawko sounds silly
Man, she is annoying. No wonder Ira seems to like her. He enjoys torture.
I thought the same thing
>yfw Imaishi is symbolically giving away his daughteru to gamagoori.
>she is annoying.
>tfw can't play all star battle
Fuck all seriousness. I like Ira the most when he is part of some silly comedy scenes.
I lived in Calgary, Alberta for a while, it's the same September- June times, but the school system is elementary(1-6), Jr. High(7-9), and High(10-12).
I thought Sept-June was a constant thing in North America until about 5 minutes ago.
Now Mako's family is in danger and it's all Gama's fault again just like with Mako in episode 14 and 15. I hope he takes responsibility for this shit.
this is what I do on a Friday Night.
I was against Gama/Mako shipping until a couple of weeks ago, I swear. But now, it's clear that the writers are pushing it.
Thank you, anon. That looks good.
Honestly, I'm inclined to agree.
Then again, everything about that scene just tickled me the right way. The faces, the dialog, and the way Gama reacted to it all. Fuck, I need to rewatch this again and have another good laugh now that my throat's almost healed and laughing doesn't hurt much anymore.
I think your just seeing things
When he's in normal mode he looks like a cartoon version of my uncle.
No, they're going out of their way to establish that Gamagoori is impressed with not only Mako but her entire family.
Are you me? I was even still against it after episode 15 happened and everyone was starting with this. But they don't make any episodes anymore in which Gama doesn't react to Mako in some way or another which is why I am beginning to wonder about this. It could be something else, not directly romance-related, though but still.
But maybe I am just starting to actually hope for this because it would mean that it's more likely for Gama to survive. He has too many comedy- and Mako scenes to die now. I hope.
Judging by how the devas weren't surprised at all, he propably knew what Ragyo was planning.
He knows that Satsuki has to have a plan. She can't just sacrifice most of her students just to declare war on her mom while Ryuko is watching.
yeah maybe but nothing will come of it because it was done in jest
The problem is that Mako's brother isn't in cocoon mode. He'll probably cause problems.
He said in episode 8 that he's 19 going on 20.
what is being referenced?
Just the generic dramatic style of older battle series. Especially Jojo and Hokuto no Ken had these.
give mako's mom kakyoin's hair
So Guts is Iggy?
I was honestly expecting the family to question his intentions with their Mako.
Anyone else notice how Gama sucked in his stomach during this scene? He was really intimidated.
well he's afraid of parents that are angry at him for not protecting there child.
LOL at dramatic dog.
