Anyone else noticing how slow /a/ is? I mean, a few years ago threads would reach post limit in just an hour but nowadays we have threads that are last for 3 days. 3 FUCKING DAYS.
What's going on, is /a/ dying or something?
The elitist fuck heads here drove away new posters.
/a/ is continually getting faster. In the last two years alone, the total post count doubled. I've never seen threads sink to page 4 and 5 as fast as they do now.
Anime has been pretty shit lately besides a few good shows (kill la kill, space dandy, ect)
Which is odd because there are more posters than ever before and it's in the top 5 fastest boards.
Hopefully it's >>101665289 and mods doing their jobs. It's nice to see /a/ going back to being slow.
I fucking wish. What I wouldn't give for this place to die a bit and fade back into relative obscurity. New posters are coming in droves.
>we have threads that are last for 3 days. 3 FUCKING DAYS.
Those are unusual and depend on a low but constant reply rate.
Let it die.
>muh sekrit club
You're the cancer killing this board.
The catalog has allowed for users to be more spread out. Rather than people just filling up threads on the front page, they can look for threads for the certain anime they want to discuss. It's not that /a/ is getting slower, more that there are less users in each thread but more users overall.
I really hate when /a/ is slowly filled with newfags
>>101663603 here an example of newfags not knowing this retarded tripshit..
Guess you never been to a Monstergirl thread.
>kill la kill, space dandy
People are using catalog or other tools? I'm not quite sure what to say since maybe it's feels like threads are more contained. No matter how bad the anime is, you can expect a thread about the newest episode with replies.
and thank god
And you advocate a steady flow of people straight out of Facebook and Tumblr? Elitism serves its purpose.
>Secret Club fallacy
>On one of the fastest boards on 4chan
>On one of the most popular online websites
You say that like it's a bad thing
This is not the fasted board, it's not even in the top 5
/b/, /v/, /vg/, /pol/, and /sp/
I don'th think he is saying it is a bad thing.
Where'd you copy that from, OP?
/a/'s still one of the faster boards. Unpleasantly fast sometimes, in fact, and some days the tedious crowds of lets-have-this-thread-yet-again junkposters drown everybody else out to the point where you might as well post somewhere where somebody interested will actually see it. That's a bit like what got the /b/ spinoffs started.
I don't like any of the shows this season. I pretty much only post in Log Horizon threads occasionally. Been tackling my backlog as well.
Just finished Tatami Galaxy an hour ago. That was some of the best shit I've seen in a long long time.
>not watching Kill la kill or Space dandy
I'm glad you're not posting, you shit taste faggot.
/pol/ and /sp/ only go up during events.
Thank jesus, slower boards are always way better.
/v/ moves at 500 shitposts per second and /b/ is even worse
>3 FUCKING DAYS.
Wow, it's fucking nothing. Those threads usually survive the same way generals used to, by being bumped every few hours when they are about to die.
Where are you getting these stats from? /a/ was the fourth fastest board last time I checked (with /pol/ and /sp/ only surpassing it during certain times and events)
The website itself has been really slow for me lately, for whatever reason. Pages take forever to load and sometimes images don't load at all.
Which is weird because every other site loads quickly, so I know it's not my computer being slow. Has 4chan been like this for anyone else lately?
It depends on the subject of the thread, and the hour at which you're browsing. If you haven't seen threads that reach post limit within hours you might not browse /a/ all day.
Also, post limit has been increasing.
Kill la Kill is last season continuing into this one. Space dandy is the only one I am actually watching from this season and I enjoy it, but not to the degree everyone else is apparently.
I dunno how fast /a/ is.
/v/, /b/ and /vg/ have gotta be faster.
/co/ is probably on the same level.
/a/ is faster then /sp/, /g/ /tg/ and /pol/
dns changes, either flush your cache manually if you know how or try rebooting.
From what I remember, the fastest boards are (in order): /b/, /v/, /vg/, /a/ and then /pol/ or something.
>less people that /pol/ and /sp/
I most certainly hope so
>3 FUCKING DAYS.
It's not 3 fucking days, Op.
You just saw 3 different DAILY <THREAD-NAME> THREADS.
Fuck off back to reddit pls.
Who is this Dong Duchess?
Moot fucking doubled the post limit in threads. Well, maybe not doubled, but he did add a shitload of possible space to each thread.
This wasn't even that long ago. How can you not remember?
Traffic has been lessening over the year compared to /v/ or /b/. On /a/, the fastest threads reach bump limit in 5 hours and the slowest go up to 3 days. The fastest threads on /v/ hit bump limit in 2 hours while the slowest make it 10 hours. Maybe it's because games are more popular than anime these days with the newfags that keep rolling in daily.
That niche aspect has always kept /a/ more safe. Cancer won't gravitate towards us, and /a/'s acidic environment weeds out any idiots. That's why we've been able to stay in relatively good shape for so long.
Do you have sources for this?
Blame the moe. The only times things speed up is Kill la kill.
>a few years ago threads would reach post limit in just an hour
What? Back on time threads could live like a day or two. Lurking was really easy, if it wasn't for the archive keeping track of discussions would be impossible.
Thursday is good day for anime discussions. There is not only KlK but also Nagi no Asukara, SamFlam and Golden Time from last season. And these shows is shows where something is actually happening to have discussion about it.
I love thursday.
Everyone has left because they don't have time to post on boards with shitty taste.
I had this thread in mind while typing the post.
On daytime /a/ and /v/, if you compare the threads with 400 posts, the threads on /v/ would have reached that number in 2-3 hours depending on the thread, which most likely would be a bait thread. On /a/, currently airing shows reach 400 in 5-7 hours, unless there is a shitstrom happening. I don't know if new threads created is an indicative of how fast /v/ is compared to /a/.
Because unlike other boards, /a/ still understands what the Report button does. As a result people shitpost comparatively less.
You, and everyone else in this thread are fucking retards.
The reason threads are able to stay up more "nowadays" instead of reaching the limit sooner like "a few years ago" is because the jew that runs this shithole decided to increase the post limit per thread before this would turn on auto-sage.
Now get the fuck out of my board and go back to Animesuki or whatever rock you shitstains crawled out from before I shove my boot up into your new-faggot ass-hole.
no, all the new posters are just in KLK threads which hit bump limits in rapid succession.
/a/ has been shitty, we only talk about flavor-of-the-month garbage and no really good anime have come out since 2012 or so.
I'll give you klak, but space dandy?
Since you are in this thread does that make you a fucking retard too?
It's slow because of this stupid captcha
You mean besides a few shit shows like shit la shit or space candy.
/v/ has always been bigger than /a/. Isn't it still the second biggest board on the site?
Also, you seem to just be assuming that traffic has been decreasing. Unless you have solid evidence proving that you're right, I wouldn't go so far as to say /a/ is getting less popular.
I post maybe once or twice in a thread, it's such a chore because I take three tries to get >>101668275 at least before I only had to type one of the captcha's, also with the post timer even when I want to reply the iron has already gone cold and there is no point.

/tg/ here, first off, you're not slow. On top of that, slow is good.
We're being sped up by quest threads. Do you want them? You can have them if you want them. They're starting to piss us off.
/a/ is slow on some days
I like friday the most, blogshit and meta threads are best on fridays
Shit. I would not mind eating at the toilet if it was that fancy.
most people respond that way
It's all because fucking newfags, who filled /a/ with their fucking faggotry about Shit la Shit, ecchipantsushit and so on instead of discussing hidden gems or just another good titles.
If only it was dying, too many shit threads these days.
kill la kill and it's fanbase are fine, hell of a lot better than snkfags
I think /a/ has a pretty good speed to be honest, fast enough that topics can get lots of posts but not so fast that smaller ones die within minutes or so fast that you can't keep up with multiple threads.
If something happens like a main character dying in KlK the board might explode again
I remember chapter 731 of one piece resulting in shitloads of threads nonstop until the next chapter
Your mom had pretty good speed last night to be honest
go away newblood welcomer
its more casual than ever though i would say its because the casuals from SnK and KlK scared away the elitists
>its more casual than ever though i would say its because the casuals from SnK and KlK scared away the elitists
elitest doesn't mean much anymore, considering the majority of posters on /a/ have seen less than 200 anime.
/a/ is more popular than ever. You're an idiot, OP.
There are no more or less idiots.
1: People are learning how to lurk before making an ass of themselves, slowly.
2: People are doing a decent job at telling off the retards and ignoring the shitposts, somewhat.
3: All of the newfags are contained in the threads they know shit about. KLK, SNK, etc. This is why we're seeing a fucking massive amounts of Naruto threads. And while I want them to go away, those threads are all containment, and therefore should stay.
Basically, there's some popular, cancerous shows that all of the retards and newfags are collecting around, and we get regular threads for.
They're being contained.
Oh, and there's a long limi between posts, good hard captchas. This limits people, and makes them not want to waste their time with bullshit posts that'll get flamed and deleted.
you know your duty
>OP's post was made 5 hours ago
He's right, /a/ is dying. Jesus...
But I don't have a single dubpic in my folder.
nobody would flame dubs in a naruto thread silly
Fuck yourself back to /b/.
Maybe people are watching anime
Honestly I usually like the tumblr people better. Tumblr's just awful for conversations.
I've been off and on 4chan since 2004 and honestly I prefer it a lot more now than back in 2007-2009 where most of you faggots probably started
and I be you started as /b/tards too
>tfw I spent all day on /a/ instead of watching anime
Why are you complaining? Less posting = less shitposting.
