>This will never be translated
Why is the world so cruel?
I thought some shitty group was ruining that.
Wasn't there some shitty group making a mess ofthis?
That's the Manga you're talking about.
No one is translating Progressive's Novels.
Some guy (Pryun) was translating the web-version of one of the stories from Progressive, but he's taken a whole year and a half to get half-way-through. Though, he likely discontinued.
That being said, no one has shown any indication of wanting to translate the rest of Progressive's novels.
Does Progressive count as a part of SAO's LN lineup, or is it a different series entirely? Just wondering about Yen Press's license.
Ah, I failed to notice that it was the LN.
There is too much commitment or time involved in LNs for a lot of translators, I think.
It seems to be a separate line-up.
Someone on Twitter asked them about it, and they said "It's a bit early for us to say as we're just putting the first volumes of the SAO light novels and manga to bed," but then added, "They are on our radar, though."
Likely a "You'll probably see them, but not very soon."
Not sure how accurate YenPress' PR person is.
Why couldn't they have licensed the 4koma or something, fuck.
I know right? Though, the Manga probably "Came With The Novel", or something.
It's amusing, because YenPress is releasing Volume 1 AND 2 of Aincrad manga, as one, instead of selling them separately (or so it seems)
Progressive is a re-telling of the story, right?
Who is that brown chick?
"Retelling" isn't the right word.
Basically, the author decided to tell the story of Aincrad the way it should have been told, and got back to the first floor, and "Progresses" onward.
It's the same timeline, with a few differences though.
The brown elf is apparently an NPC in Aincrad, named Kizmel, that's developed some kind of self-awareness, it seems.
Not 100% on all the details though.
>1-2 floors a volume
>the story of Aincrad the way it should have been told
Sounds about right, the entirety of volume 2 is Floor 3.
If by that, you mean it doesn't have time skips, that seems to be the case so far. (other than the first book, where we start off 1 month after the game starts)
My guess, there will only be some minute skips, like how "Reason for the Whiskers" basically glosses over a couple days, and we start back up soon after that.
>glacial pace dungeon crawling
Good luck to those of you who hate Asuna. You'll survive somehow, I'm sure.
If Progressive ever gets past Sachi, they can skip lots of time since Kirito basically does nothing but grind all day every day.
I can imagine the story MAYBE taking a look at what other characters are doing instead, around that time, to clear the dungeons.
where can i read phantom bullet?
I want to be sure about her details, if you know what I mean.
There are probably PDFs of if somewhere on the internet.
She should be gone by the 25th floor or so, that's just little more than a decade away.
>a volume of Progressive dedicated to Klein getting Fuurinkazan off the ground
>a volume of Progressive dedicated to Agil The Shopkeeper
>a volume about the Daily Adventures of Appleguy
Need a Volume about Aaaa.
He's even in the Progressive manga.
My god... I would never have noticed that.
Doesn't look fat and pimply enough.
And a volume about The Greatest Love Story Of All Time.
So it's a retcon?
It's for the greater good anon.
It's better for mankind that it isn't translated.
There are a few retcons, yeah.
Like how SAO Volume 1 mentions that the beta test made it up 6 floors, and lasted two months, while SAOP changed it to 10 floors in 1 month.
It's mostly minor retcons though. Some people say that it changes the relationship between Asuna and Kirito, as the novels before it said that they never knew each other very well, aside from boss raids, until the Murder Case story.
But that's never really said. It was just fan speculation, that Progressive proved wrong.
I see Silica too... And Aaaa is staring right at her.
That's definitely meant to be him though, he's staring at Silica.
Huh. So it might be.
Heh, I know he wants to correct his shit, but correcting it like this when he still has the original on-going doesn't appeal to me.
To be fair, the main SAO timeline currently is so far removed from Aincrad that it doesn't really matter. It's just making the first arc/world less awful while affecting relatively little in what comes after.
He hasn't "corrected" much though.
The only Retcon I've really been able to spot has to do with numbers. Events, as a whole, seem more-or-less unaffected.
Additionally, in Volume 10, Reki makes a nod at Monochrome (which was at the time, I believe half-available on his site), and mentions the reward for the quest, and the "Dark Elf".
I guess I was hoping for him to improve not just Aincrad, so with this he is making 3 LNs now right?
Is the protagonist less of a mary sue in the Progressive series?
SAO already has a draft from 10 years prior or so, but with the changes in volume 13, he's probably throwing that draft out the window. (though, he hints at many of the points from the web novel being the same)
No translations, but probably not.
A friend of mine actually asked Kawahara about this at Sakura-con and he said that it wasn't. So pretty much, what happens in Progressive isn't connected at all to the current timeline. Source (have fun finding the question): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2ESc8bC71A
No, it's still same old Kirito.
Sorta. He spits out a novel every 2 months or so, more or less alternating between AW and SAO. Progressive comes out once a year and slides somewhere in that every-2-months pattern.
>the Progressive canon has the potential to ignore all the game-ending bullshit of the 75th floor
>the grind through floors 76-100
>Asuna trying to rebuild the KoB as guild leader
>dealing with fame
>PoH continues to fuck shit up and is not a tree
>more married life vanilla goodness
>AW and SAO
He really needs to find a balance with his MCs.
Clearly, the series that bridges SAO to AW will have the perfect protagonist.
Hmmm, I heard that before Accel World was accepted as a novel, Reki had a story on his site, about a guy who has his sister downloaded to his brain-implant, when she dies.
He took the story down after Accel World was published though (so I hear)
Some speculated that was meant to be his next big series, apparently.
"Just In My Eyes," I think is what you're referring to?
Noo, that guy may have been his good MC, oh well.
I believe so. Never read it though, and I'm just basing what I say off of what I heard from someone else.
None of that will happen.
>PoH becoming a tree
This part hopfully changes though...
>not wanting our lord and savior Jesus Kirito Christ
>Star King Kirito
I told an online acquaintance about the web novel summaries, and they started to praise Asuna EVEN MORE.
>Stacia Goddess Asuna
I look forward to S2, Asuna a shit.
>reacting to the web novel summaries with anything but laughter
Gee, can't wait for SAO: Alicization Progressive.
>a volume for every year of their reign
>200 Volumes of how Kirito and Asuna fuck repeatidly, and set up world peace, before discovering space, and making Underworld a planet.
What about GGO: Progressive?
Web Alicization would've been reasonably decent if they just kept Kirito mindbroken instead of trying to force his Gary Stu status
>Sinon with GM account specialized in widespread destruction kills 7k every 10 minutes, Kirito kills 30k in one hit
>Century-old Administrator still cannot achieve flight, Kirito achieves light-speed flight 5 minutes after he wakes up
>Nigh-immortal that nullifies attack from everything gets killed by Kirito with THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP
that what you get when a series gets too popular in the west.
What? Lack of translators? Progressive lost all its (active) translators before YenPress ever made an announcement, because someone was already translating Rondo (web version), so no one else took it up. His last update was in July. His update before that was sometime in March.
And the main line-up still has a fan-translator, who's just waiting on V14.
That requires our characters to spend time in GGO instead of being sequestered away in Elven Second Life doing homework and shit.
It was okay (if comically racist) fantasy. And then Kirito wakes up and it was like pic related on steroids. I couldn't stop laughing.
I can try, but I'm slow as fuck. Wait at least 6 months.
6 months to start, or 6 months to finish?
Because I've been waiting 1 year for the current translator of the Rondo chapter, from book 1, and he's not even half way done.
To finish. I'll start tomorrow, see you on August 6.
Wait, where are you going to start? Volume 2? or Volume 1's Rondo chapter?
Hmm, I'm downloading volume 2, but I guess I could start with the Rondo chapter.
Godspeed. I'm not sure if you've seen the "current" Rondo's translator's stuff, but it's completely unreadable.
