Are there any other slightly different love-related anime, like Midori Days?
Sort of normal, but with something completely strange added in.
Or, alternatively, are there any anime you'd recommend knowing that I loved Midori Days?
Rec threads are not allowed.
Now fuck off.
Nothing comes to mind, really.
If you want something at least slightly different than your average romaine show, try Honey and Clover, or Emma.
And these two probably fit what you want a bit more: Kaiba and Tutu.
Well, where else am I supposed to ask?
I just finished watching We, Without Wings.
That set-up was pretty fucked up, but interesting.
I'm checking out Honey and Clover now, seems pretty good.
Will look at Emma next.
Also, what are the best sites for downloading anime?
I used to get all mine from a friend, but that's no longer an option.
Reddit. /a/ hates recommendation threads.
/a/ or you?
Because everyone so far, bar you, is quite helpful.
Not if it's really quite specific.
>implying I haven't already been through every list
I wanted recommendations from real people, not from a list.
chobits, anything clamp
They clearly don't belong.
Did I not just tell you to fuck off?
>will someone hold my hand for me?
If you have watched all the stuff on those list, then I would hope you could search for similar things to the stuff you liked.
You think those lists are made by robot?
But I think this thread is still fine becuase it's quite specific.
Lurk more you faggot.
I'll be nice this time.
The cabbage is strange in this one.
Boku no Pico
Not hand holding, I want people who can recommend me similar things that I might like.
Not sure why you've got such a problem with that.
OP wanted a romance you faggot.
Yeah, no thanks.
Uh, don't you start.
What? You don't like Musashi Gundoh?
Nobody here who actually has worth wants them here.
This shit belongs on /r/.
Don't like it? Too bad.
You guys are going about this the wrong way.
The original reason why /a/ hated rec threads is because of their completely ambiguous nature. Unlike those has something he'd like to see more of so this type of thing would be allowed.
It's not allowed. These threads get spammed every single day mostly by assholes stirring shit up on purpose and really, just looking for a few minutes for something similar or lurking isn't hard at all.
At least this guy has some sense.
General recommendations are not very welcome here.
But specific recommendations, especially ones like OP that you can't get from a list, were always answered normally.
Obviously there are always faggots who have no idea and spam these threads as well.
It makes me sick how /a/ never gives these threads the nurutu treatment.
They're already in rule violation, that should only encourage faster deletion.
Midori no hibi was a great read. I really love when a series that spends most of its time being a little silly and light hearted knows how to level with you and serious the fuck up. Bonus points for when the series manages to properly go back to its normal silly self when the serious stuff is over or postponed, and even more credit when it can get serious yet again.
It's different from when a light hearted show just explodes on you with something inappropriately serious, rather it really felt like things built up and down really nicely.
You've just described it perfectly, and I thank you for it.
>were always answered normally
Horse shit, they only get by on an individual basis such as when it's reccomendations for something like yotsuba. Any time I've seen someone say "I absolutely loved yotsuba and was hoping there was more like it" everyone's heart gets all warm and fuzzy and BAM reccomendations.
Make spoonfeeding a bannable offense -> Problem solved.
Too bad mods are lazy fags and moot just doesn't care anymore.
I've seen a ton of romance series since Midori no Hibi and nothing really compares. Maybe taste has moved on since when it was written but that style and competence of handling the romance without awkwardness remains pretty unique.
I guess any of the Mizukami works are the only others that give a similar feel. Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer and Spirit Circle, but neither is predominantly romance.
Recommendations are not allowed on /a/
As already mentioned.
I've been trying to think of other series that manage this as competently as another anon said, and I'm hard pressed honestly. I mean I've found plenty of other good series of various genres and styles, but generally serious shit is just dropped suddenly in one big drama bomb. In midori no hibi there was such a level of build up even as things were still light hearted.
I dont really know what is worse, trolls or elitist 'oldfags'
In this case here, both are simply trolls.
God damn, this is the first time I've actually read this thing. My laugh muscles hurt now.
I dont know, i really think there are faggots that call themselves oldfags and act like thoug guys without knowing how retarded they are
