What is his power?
To sound awesome on my turntable, what else?
The two main reasons to be confused by it are
- The long winded and totally retarded explination in the current awful scans
- The fact that diavolo technically has two stands.
King Crimson skips time by a few seconds, Epitaph lets him see what's going to happen in the next few seconds so he's not confused like everyone else is
That isn't "made in heaven"
Punching people and having 2 faces.
You must have waited a long time to post that.
"Now I'm behind you" - the stand
>diavolo technically has two stands
He has one stand but two abilities, just like Killer Queen and Sheer Heart Attack. Epitaph is still a part of King Crimson.
>Mfw my friend got a shitton of vinyls for his new turntable from his old man, one of them being the Yes album with Roundabout
Shit is beyond cash and mad jealous of him
I might have that one, not sure. I got over 500 in a shelf next to that thing and I don't have a catalog and a lot of the labels are worn.
At least I have all of Floyd on vinyl.
You know that episode of Futurama where time starts skipping forward, but no one can remember what they did in the skipped time? That's king crimson, except diavolo can remember what people do in the skipped time. It's not that hard.
What's the point of vinyl?
It's not the same, what happens in skipped time has no effect unless it's still in effect after it disappears.
If you shoot at him during skipped time, it causes no damage.
If you impale him, he dies after those ten seconds pass.
Here you are.
>time running backwards
Needs Bite the Dust/Mandom.
As a medium to listen to music and a nice, nostalgic way to do so.
Isn't it basically The World, but Diavolo only skips to a certain time rather then freezing it?
But how did Narancia get impaled on the spikes again?
Diavolo attacks Narancia -> Diavolo impales Narancia -> Narancia is impaled
King Crimson Time:
Diavolo attacks Narancia -> It just works -> Narancia is impaled
His power is to be the best stand, stand user and band name.
I like KC, but Diavolo is pretty shitty.
Read the real story when real translations come out and realise that Diavolo didn't want to do anything wrong, he's Kira 2.0
Diavolo would be better if we didn't know his backstory.
>having shit taste
Diavolo was great. Second best villain up until the end of Part 5.
But anon, we don't.
I mean at all. There was still that flashback.
The flashback is mistranslated. He was living with a "priest" and while the priest and him were making the apartment, apparently Diavolo found his mother buried under a stone tablet,
we can assume that the priest did that, considering Diavolo's mother gave birth to a child without a father.
My point still stands.
That flashback raised more questions than answered, which makes me think Araki's intention was to make his backstory unknowable, much like his own personality and motivations. I mean, Diavolo wanted so bad to [remove his identity from the world] that not even the readers would be able to know who he really was.
On another note, though, it would have been nice to get a novel about him like we had for Fugo.
If I recall correctly, his mother was buried in a state similar to Bruno's after he was hit by KC, implying that Diavolo himself was the culprit.
Hence why I said it's mistranslated. Why would Diavolo betray his own motto of "Why would anyone bite the hand that feeds you"?
He just wanted to live unknown to everyone who knew his face, which his mother didn't because she was in prison.
Well, she was still a link to his identity. The same goes for Trish. She didn't know his face but he needed to kill her anyway to completely "overcome the past" as he intended.
What's the best KC song?
What the fuck is wrong with you?!
King Crimson comes in albums, my friend.
... But Larks' Tongues in Aspic pt. 2 is their best song.
Also, there's the possibility of it being an accident and the trigger for Diavolo's chain of events that made him want to overcome the past.
He wanted to kill trish because she knew about Diavolo's existance, while having a link to him.
Also due to the fact that she allied with the resistance.
It's most likely that he wouldn't do shit if she didn't bother him and/or appeared in the scene.
Court of the Crimson King > 21st Century Schizoid Man
>Larks' Tongues in Aspic pt. 2
>not The Court of the Crimson King
CotCK=21CSM But a little better I agree.
I just really like the amount of sounds portrayed on the latter.
>she allied with the resistance
But that was after he ordered Bruno to bring her to him, wasn't it?
You shouldn't even have to ask.
Confusion will be my epitaph.
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying,
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying.
I'm almost sure that she found out about her father and Diavolo acted after that, but I might be wrong.
Point is, you don't need to know about Diavolo and you are okay
Kind of a christianim reference, if you never knew that "hell" or the "devil" exist, you never have the possibility to meet them
21st Century Schizoid Man
I Talk to the Wind is superior
A real KC fan wouldn't call a fellow KC fan edgy.
The entire song feels like one long ejaculation.
It's Epitaph everyone knows.
I've got The Court of the Crimson King on Vinyl so I win.
>Diavolo was great. Second best villain up until the end of Part 5.
he was shit
>m-muh secret identity...
Yes are better anyway.
I myself am not into the whole vinyl scene, or was I around when it was the only way to listen to a lot of music, but I have a couple from when I was in Highshcool, and listening to vinyl certainly has a certain charm to it for whatever reason - it really does sound nice.
I wish I could kill you harder than I want to kill this guy I once saw compare Jonathan to Toriko.
>I've got The Court of the Crimson King on Vinyl so I win.
Isn't vinyl affected by rotational velocidensity?
Your mom is affected by rotational velocidensity.
does anyone have that one transparent image of jojolion josuke's face? or the one on "rate your face"?
Sorry I ain't a JoJo fan bro.
His picture looks like he has actions look like Voldo.
Sorry for being so casual.
I'm not fucking sorry at all you sorry piece of shit
it's just a crappy format that's technically inferior to any kind of modern digital media (digitally purchased, CDs, FLAC rips, whatever as long as it's above 320kbps or V0). The only people who actually like it are hipsters who want to collect albums or spend thousands on a turntable and an expensive sound system for the sake of showing it off to other people.
Wait, so let me get this right, with King Crimsons normal ability he can make time skip for everyone and with Epitath he can see what's going to happen in that time skip thus changing the outcome of said time skip?
EX: Mista shoots at Diavolo, Diavolo then uses King Crimson to skip time and Epitath to see through the skipped time and dodge the bullets.
Is that right?
Epitaph is just the nerfed version of King Crimson. It enabled Doppio to see the ten seconds that would otherwise be skipped by King Crimson.
Or some of us grew up with them and find them incredibly nostalgic.
Personally, when I was a kid my father listened to records all the time. Namely Floyd, Stones, Zappa, and Grateful Dead.
I have that huge collection now since he died, including the turntable and sound system. I use them mostly as decoration, but I do listen to some of my favorites at times because of nostalgia.
Sure, it's technically inferior, but that doesn't make it personally inferior. Some may prefer cassettes, some may prefer those big ass tape decks, and some strange fuckin' people may prefer Laserdisc.
My point is fuck you, I'm gonna continue enjoying my records.
This nigga gets it.
>they're mostly decoration
so you're a hipster, ok
>>101614728 Already won so I'll just post.
Yes, mostly decoration because they sit there a majority of the time.
Do you get your figmas down and play with them all the time? No, they're fucking decoration because of that.
You don't know what that means. I know that vinyl is dated, inferior, and functionally pointless. If I were a hipster, I would have some kind of fantasy about it being superior in some way beyond nostalgia's sake.
If I were a hipster, I would still carry around my Walkman, fuck you.
So the full ability is to skip time, see through the skipping of time and then act accordingly to the time that is being skipped?
I don't think you should use words you don't understand.
Owning something as a decoration is by no means the same as owning something ironically to appear cool to retards.
no i don't do something as inane as this. nor do I own vinyl records in the 21st century when virtually all music can be freely downloaded in high quality format and I can carry 160GB of music in my pocket, or multiple terabytes on my computer.
I bet you love bragging about how many you own too, don't you?
switch normal time and King Crimson time and i think we got us the answer.
he just needs to be able to to it right away, and to think it
Yes, time skips for everyone but him, just like The World stops time for everyone but Dio.
All you're telling me is that you didn't grow up with the stuff, and that you're an idiot.
Do you throw away all of your old things because new things are technically better? Did you ditch your NES because you can emulate everything? Did you toss your VHS collection because you can just torrent everything?
Trish could also feel his presence because they were part of the same family, similar to the Joestars. He wasn't 100% sure at first, but when he saw her, and could recognize her immediately as being blood related to him, he knew he had to kill her, because she would be able to recognize him the same way.
>I don't own books because I can have all of them on my computer
This is the most stupid comment I've ever read this day so far
But then, how does he impale Narancia when it's previously stated that he can't interact with people during the time skip? (at least I believe it said that but I can't seem to find where specifically, so if I'm wrong the let me know)
Yes. Why would I keep things that are archaic and have much easier to use and versatile digital formats?
Yes, I own a Kobo and pretty much all my old books sit there on the shelf. I've read all of Jojo either on my computer or on an ereader or a laptop. Seriously, during my morning commute I can read 2 volumes of whatever I want on the train. It's so convenient and it weighs less than a book and is slimmer than most books, considering there's like 50 books on there.
>i have no argument so I'll just post gundam and logh images
>my old books sit there on the shelf
What a hipster, I bet you keep them there just to show off.
>I am so insecure I can't afford to expend money on hard copies of my hobbies or support their developers
>Why would I keep things that are archaic and have much easier to use and versatile digital formats?
You're clearly too young for it to matter. I bet your first console was an Xbox.
>all my old books sit there on the shelf.
What a fucking hipster, I bet you brag about them. Why would you keep those things around when there's superior digital media to be had?
Seriously dude, stop being a fucking retard, I can't argue properly when I'm laughing.
I think he attacks just after time has skipped, so Narancia is caught by surprise
>keeping old things that have better digital formats is retarded!
>all my old books
Your original argument was that keeping figmas for decoration was "hipster". So what do you suggest we use a figma for? And how is this not contradicted by "pretty much all my old books sit there on the shelf"?
No I kind of wish I had more space in my garage to store them in, it would leave more space in my bedroom. The only books I really use anymore are college textbooks I couldn't download. Everything else I buy digital or download. Been this way for about 3 years.
Except if I wanted to support a musician, I'd see them in concert which I've done tons of times. Or if I wanted to support a film, I'd see it in theaters. They get more of your money that way too. And if I wanted to support developers, there's really no difference in buying the game digitally or physically. In the rare exception that there's a digital only sale, you're actually giving game developers more money by buying digitally because they don't have to include the cost of manufacturing a physical copy. Also authors do get money from ebook purchases, it would be illegal to sell them otherwise.
Nope, 24. First console was an NES, first handheld a gameboy. I have a 3DS, Wii U, PS3 and a PC now.
Literally if I could find someone who wants all my old books, I'll give them to them. I have boxes and boxes of books in cardboard boxes either at my parent's house or in my garage, and the ones on the shelf are the last ones I read.
>Why would I keep things that are archaic
>pretty much all my old books sit there on the shelf
Also I love how all of you entirely miss the point that they're just sitting there doing nothing and that I haven't bought a new book in years because I have a Kobo that's far nicer to use than paper books.
Does this sound about right to everyone (you): King Crimson establishes two intangible points on the timeline, then proceeds to erase what happened between those two points, giving others the feeling that time has suddenly skipped forward; the people act "normally", but have no memory of what occurred during the erased portion of time, since it doesn't even exist. Diavolo himself is able to see (Diavolo says predict but its shown that he sees what happens, either that or he predicts and moves around it as it happens) what will happen during the timeskip and use this advantage to dodge attacks and position himself to attack an enemy.
You must have been raised by fucking retards, then, or had some serious hiccup in your upbringing. I say this for a myriad of reasons that should really be explored for yourself.
So just like the records, then?
I love how you are apparently oblivious to your hypocrisy.
Yes, I get that. I also have books in a tablet. But you're saying we should throw all that "archaic shit", and yet you haven't thrown them out. Besides, what is the digital alternative to a figma? And why would I prefer it to the physical version?
What is your favorite stand design?
He's also oblivious to the fact that much of that "archaic shit" is superior in its original format.
IE: old video games are better on an old tube television.
How the hell is a plastic shit with a LSD display better in any sort of way better than the smell of a just purchased book.
Enjoy getting farsighted before you hit 40
Yeah I think so. The only thing that gets changed is "location". An example:
1. A shoots Crimson King's user D, then runs away
2. D deletes this time
3. A's bullet didn't kill anybody, D can't kill during that time
4. The bullet has moved behind D, A has moved (from running away), D is wherever the hell D wants to be
Stone Free looks damn cool. Soft and Wet is different in a nice way, too.
Not him but to be fair there's no reason to carry around physical books when you have a reader. They're not hard on the eyes, and are obviously more convenient.
Outside of on-the-go however, still inferior to an actual book, both in reading quality and making your house look nice.
Black Sabbath or Killer Queen
King Crimson and Purple Haze
I would see no reason to own a figma so I don't care. if that's your hobby feel free to toss your money away.
only way I'm a hypocrite is if the guy with the records would give all his away. i literally don't know what to do with all these fucking books besides occasionally putting them in cardboard boxes and shoving them into a corner somewhere. i offer to give people books/manga i think they might like all the time.
no it's not. i can sit down in my living or bed room and play super metroid (or anything) on a 60" TV, in perfect aspect ratio, with a wireless dualshock 3 controller (or essentially any controller I want). i could do this with a laptop provided it had hdmi and bluetooth. also you can play modded games for any console. you can play heritage to the future or 3s on a pc, with any controller you want. it's great.
Yes, my SNES stayed in a plastic bag in my garage for about 10 years. then one day we had a garage sale and sold everything for maybe $20. mostly because you can emulate the entire SNES library. it still worked fine, i tested it.
clearly you've never seen e-ink before. also books are a pain in the ass, freshly purchased book smell a shit. I've smelled books so freshly manufactured as well as books so antiquated and preserved they would make your nostrils jealous, but even i know it's just retarded to carry around a 1000 page books when you could just read gravity's rainbow or whatever with an ereader. also you can read books in the dark with a backlight, barely fucks up your eyes, the battery literally lasts months.
What a surprise, everything has its pros and cons.
Has to be Killer Queen.
Awesome, thanks anon, I just finished Vento Aureo a few weeks ago and the ability was really bothering me. Have a great day, and again thanks for the help.
>no it's not. i can sit down in my living or bed room and play super metroid (or anything) on a 60" TV, in perfect aspect ratio, with a wireless dualshock 3 controller (or essentially any controller I want). i could do this with a laptop provided it had hdmi and bluetooth. also you can play modded games for any console. you can play heritage to the future or 3s on a pc, with any controller you want. it's great.

Post that on /vr/, get your ass laughed out, and then kill yourself.
Well, even so. Other people said it before, and I'll say it as well. I just fucking like this kind of stuff. Physical books, vynil, paintings, they all have a story behind. No matter what, the most interesting thing you could say about a .pdf is that a friend gave it to you as a gift or maybe that you found it in a public PC, while my books all have something interesting behind.
Stop replying to this flaming retard.
B-but it's fun
But at least now I can live in hope that one more of his scummy type is wiped from this world.
Yes. Because I care what a bunch of retro game hipsters think.
If I was one of those idiots who would actually pay more than $5 for a physical copy of Chrono Trigger, I think I'd neuter myself for the betterment of mankind.
I prefer to enjoy things for what they actually are, rather than some stupid meaning I assign to it. Which is why for example, I care about the plot and prose of a novel, as opposed to what people think of me when they see I own a copy of it or how I'm going to explain how I got it. To me that kind of thing is irrelevant.
You have never, ever, had the balls to recognize your hobbies did you?
I'm not thinking about others. It's part of my life. I like the fact that my stuff has a meaning, and all the memories make my bond to these objects way stronger than their digital versions.
That "stupid meaning" is what makes people like a certain love song, it's also what makes anime songs more meaningful if you've watched the anime, and it's a big part of how memories in general are created.
Refusing to do this is basically refusing to be human.
Sure buddy. I doubt my theory is the correct one, but it explains almost every instance of CK's use.
Either way, it's one of those things that Araki didn't quite think through but just happened to make sense, like why and how did Star Platinum steal all that shit, and why it was able to learn the special ability of The World.
What are you talking about? I read manga and books in public all the time, same with playing 3DS games. It's just everything is digital.
>bonding with objects
Well that just sounds retarded to me. I like bonding with other people. I would like a certain song if the song is good, and of course you're going to like an anime song more if you've watched the accompanying show (unless the song is shit and you just skip it every time).
I just see no reason to waste money on physical things when the digital age has made everything so much easier to own, transport and use. Ebooks are cheaper than physical books for example. And things like footnotes and such in books are often easier to refer to with an ereader.
>Well that just sounds retarded to me
Good for you, it's a part of human history since forever. From idol fetishes and the hair of your beloved to that one bike that was cooler than anything, or (hey, back to the beginning) that ugly painting my mother loves because it's a gift from my dad.
You can say a pdf is better for storage reasons, but you can't ignore the sentimental worth of physical entertainment.
This anon understands it perfectly, and has repeated what many people keep trying to tell this daft faggot: >>101625583
There's far more important things than efficiency and quality. Emotion and human sentiment are far more important in the end because that's where everything ends up at.
So enjoy your cold, dead, highly efficient world, faggot-kun. Meanwhile, the rest of us will have physical forms of our favorite things, with memories and emotions, as well as your prized, sterile little alternatives.
there are better songs but there is just something about this one.
My nigga. Also Soft & Wet and Tusk Act 4
>hair of your beloved
this is bonding to a human
>one bike that was cooler than anything
except most bicycles that aren't over $1000 and made of decent parts or tuned up are pieces of garbage
>that ugly painting my mother loves because it's a gift from my dad
bonding to a human again
Let me explain it to you like this:
I can go to a bookstore, spend 20 minutes trying to find a physical copy of Romance to the Three Kingdoms, then ask the people up front if they have any copies, then find out the only bookstore in my region that has a copy of these books is two cities away, drive there, buy these books for like $40, then carry around a 1000+ page volume of RotTK in my bag that weighs over a pound everywhere while I read it.
I have actually done this while trying to find volumes of these books. I couldn't even find it in any public libraries or my college's library
Or I can log on to the bookstore, search "Romance of the Thre-" oh wait, there it is first result. Then pick whichever translation I want, buy it for less than $10 (some of these are literally $2 for old Chinese literature like this), pay for it with a credit card, then start reading it as soon as it's done downloading. I could do this in the middle of an airport or something.
That's why I prefer digital.
Do you not realize that all your memories of something are literally right there, in your brain. I remember all the books I've read, all the movies I've watched and all the anime I've watched to some extent. Same with all the music.
I do not stop having access to memories of listening to "Lift Yr Skinny Fists" for the first time because I don't have a physical copy of the album with me. I can remember it at any time I want. Or better yet, I can pull out my phone or an iPod Classic and just start listening to the album. Anywhere.
>this anon has never wiped dust and found something from the past and never will
Oh man I now feel sorry for you.
Well it seems to make sense to me when I put the posts together and edit them a little, but the Star Platinum stuff I don't get either. But this thread seems to have derailed and died, so I think I'm off to check out other ones. Catch ya later.
It's mind blowing how you can miss the point so wildly.
>except most bicycles that aren't over $1000 and made of decent parts or tuned up are pieces of garbage
Explain that to a kid. Humans aren't rational, whether you believe it or not. In fact, that's why logic is such a big deal.
Why yes, that is an advantage, and part of why I download books as well. It's unrelated to my point though, which is that I like my books because they're important for me in an emotional way I can't reach with digital media.
And something else, this time personal. The books I have are mostly not looked for, but rather things I have found and decided "Hey, this looks fun, let's buy it". This alone makes them more valuable. For example, I bought a certain book from a wandering salesperson and I never saw him again. Another one, I won in a contest. I'd never find those books, and I probably wouldn't have read them if I saw them online.
What part do you not get? Totally not fishing for people willing to read my idiotic theories
Well since I'm actually still here(went to go make food and came back to refresh), what I originally misunderstood was King Crimson and his ability which I believe I have gathered the right info: King Crimson establishes two intangible points on the timeline, then proceeds to erase what occurred between those two points, giving others the feeling that time has suddenly skipped forward without their knowledge; the people act "normally", but have no memory of what occurred during the erased portion of time, since it doesn't even exist (the results at the end of the time skip are the same as if time didnt skip, in relation to moving objects). Diavolo himself is able to predict what will happen during the timeskip and use this advantage to dodge attacks and position himself to attack an enemy. The other part is the coffin in the beginning of part three, didn't Erina escape on that? If so how was Dio in it? Also how and why did Star Platinum steal all that stuff for Jotaro?
Dunno, you can say there were two.
>SP the thief
Theory: SP can in fact move large distances away from Jotaro, but loses his ORAORA speed and strength so Jotaro never does it because he's not an indirect ninja bitch (and probably believes it's impossible). Back then, SP was out of control and had a primitive mind; he just wanted to make Jotaro feel good, so he took stuff Jotaro thought was cool.
Yes I have. I wiped the dust of my NES and found it one time years ago. It still worked. So I put it back. Then we sold it later on.
I just don't value old things because they're old and archaic.
The point that people waste time and money on things for no reason besides sentimental value? I'm not missing that point, I'm just explaining to you that it's stupid.
"This alone makes them more valuable."
Well that's a horrible way of thinking. You're basically entirely dismissing the book itself based on the fact that it's digital, while placing a huge amount of emphasis on reading a book because of it's cover or something. The book you picked might be awful. I get the impression you don't actually like reading if this is how you think, because clearly you value the object of the book itself moreso than what the writers of the book are trying to express or convey. I bet you don't even browse /lit/, your posts make it sound like you're the type of person that just likes to be seen in public reading or tell stories to people about how you got a book.
Some of the best books I ever read were either books I rented out at the library once, or books I bought/downloaded digitally and never saw again. Some of the worst books I've ever read in my life were some book someone gave me or that a salesperson convinced me to buy.
I like the books that were actually good, regardless of how I read them.
>You're basically entirely dismissing the book itself based on the fact that it's digital, while placing a huge amount of emphasis on reading a book because of it's cover or something
Not at all, I already said I also have digital books. I'm simply saying I like the physical version of a book more, but I can settle for the digital if I don't have that. The quality of a book is something completely different.
I can see how the SP theory can work, because it does make sense to a degree. On the topic of the coffin, I can also see Dio wanting to be prepared for a just in case scenario but it should have at least been addressed at some point during Part 3.
To me the quality of a book is entirely what's written in the book.
For example here's a copy of Arabian Nights that I own. I like the digital version more because it's not heavy as fuck and I can read it anywhere I want, and my bookmarks are saved across multiple platforms.
Valentine > Kira > Diavolo > Pucci > DIO > Dio Brando >>> Kars
I haven't spoken to you yet about your feelings on various things in most posts, and after reading them I do agree with you on some points. To get back to the source of the issue though, can't you agree that these people aren't hipsters and simply enjoy access to their favorite things in a more traditional sense?
I just got here and all I have to say is that this poster is a cold, vapid, emotionless cunt who doesn't deserve all of the miracles history has given him. And if "2014" is supposed to signify anything, it's to signify the year where we continue to tolerate trash like him for no reason other than it's illegal to kill someone for being an unlikable fuck.
