So, I've never seen a thread about this manga. And I'm prepared for this to not succeed considering that /a/ has been basically a fetish board for quite some time now. But here goes nothing.
Considering how this manga progresses, just about anything will be a spoiler for anyone who hasn't read it, so if possible, remember to use spoilers.
Urasawa is still pretty popular here. I just have no incentive to read ongoing works of his. I'd rather wait until it's over. I've seen at least a few others who share my sentiment.
gonna start with a major spoiler, so don't read if you haven't read everything that's been translated. What did you feel when kevin got killed in japan?, I personally felt so fucking mad as he didn't get to know the truth about the 'friend' he killed, and simply speaking I wasn't ready for his death.
also, who do you think sees which bat?assuming a person can only see one of the bats and not the two, I'm inclined to think oswald could see the white bat and that kevin saw the blat one
I feel the same way about almost all manga. Reading something week by week, chapter by chapter, is fucking painful.
The only ongoing series I'm actually keeping up with as it goes is One Piece, because I know it won't end until I'm in my fucking 30s.
Keeping up with shounenshit is a different thing though. Keeps me reading manga, gets me through a hard week with no other updates sometimes.
Pacing definitely gets trashed. Translations can suddenly stop. I just don't want to read a series of his just to be left in the lurch.
A question for the lurkers of this thread:
If there were more manga threads in /a/, would you actively follow more manga?
I follow about 250 series. Even disregarding those without active translations, I think I follow enough manga.
But yes, /a/ needs more manga threads.
A good meta whine always gets a thread off to a great start, you're a swell guy, OP
I think there are more anime threads simply because it is more accesible than manga. Taking this into account, I think it's safe to assume who the shitpost comes from
how did you reach that conclusion?not saying you are actually wrong, just curious. I also catch up yesterday and I see thatthe moon IS HAPPENING!
Outside of the shit that is aired on TV, I disagree that it's more accessible. And that's certainly not the stuff you find on /a/. A wide range of manga is easy to find. It's just that most people find them on sites like Mangafox and Mangahere and for the most part, those people are driven away. In terms of high quality scans and centralized releases - that aren't on an online reader, yes, it is less accessible.
it indeed is happening. Also, about my conclusion, I drew it from the manga, iirc one of the carriers said that the white bat was the deceiver, and oswald was encouraged to do things, but he wasn't shown the future like kevin et al
is how most people see it, that they don't want to wait with a manga like this, especially considering Urasawa does hiatus's from time to time with Billy Bat.
I personally don't care and read it whenever it gets translated.
However, i also am lost quite often, because i can barely remember what has happened like 20 chapters ago or so, same with remembering the names.
So i can't really talk about depth stuff like >>101612998
as far as i can remember i don't think any bat we saw ourselves was a white-bat, so its possible only the people who have spoken with a bat who we haven't seen were white-bats
it's also possible. And most people I know have problems remembering names even if they read the manga in a seating
I forgot pluto's protagonist name
that one was easy for me as i am german: Gesicht.
what do you guys think about OP's art style, seeing as most manga and try to aim to moe?
-think it should be used more often
>most manga and try to aim to moe
That is so utterly wrong.
Sitting, anon, sitting.
meant the art style, not necessarily looking to fit character's personalities with the usual archetypes and such.
it's still wrong, maybe you should try to watch more stuff besides harem anime
thank you, anon. English isn't my native language so I tend to switch words that sound the same.
That's still wrong. Maybe you could try to force this argument with anime, but moe really is a lot less prevalent. Frankly you just gets lots of ecchi bullshit.
well, let me correct myself:
A more realistic(anatomically speaking) art style, how does that sound?
kevin didn't deserve that ;_;
Better. It's still not anywhere near as rare as you make it sound. I don't believe everything needs to be accurate, realistic, or even well done. It certainly makes a difference on the right series though.
Considering I'm on 4chan i'm surprised you didn't insult each other
I don't see much realism in here http://anichart.net/spring
>eighteenth movie of conan
Even though I see some obvious counterexamples, I meant manga.
what he said
monster is still his best work IMO though, other popular stuffs like 20th century boy doesn't give me anything though.
haven't seen pluto yet, will probably in the near future.
figured as much, but I was also taking into account anime
>hurr 4chainz iz bad
insults only flies around when people like you shows up on our site.
we always have meaningful conversations time and time again
pluto is definitely worth a read or 2, and it's only about 60 chapters long
Anime is dreck for anything that's remotely outside of established norms. They never make any profit and so they're avoided like the plague. It is however good to see something like Ping Pong on there. Anime hardly even touches on the diversity of seinen and josei.
I've been here for 2 years and in my experience most conversations tend to degrade rather fast
2 years where? Discussing what? I kind of wish I could shut up the arm chair psychologists here sometimes.
I wonder if this movie is good. Im guessing the story hasn't been featured in the manga being a movie and all
mostly lurking, and site wide more often than not it is either circle jerk or insult in case of a contrarian opinion
>I've been here for 2 years
>implying that's anything to brag about
but to be fair, these 2 years has been the worst 2 years we ever had.
I really don't leave /a/. Following manga outside of popular stuff is pretty chill here. It depends on the time of day a lot.
I thought it was much longer. Might give it a shot sometime.
What's the point of Judas's chapter? Kanbei's ones are at least relevant to Kevin's.
back story on the bat. maybe
I loved Monster, Pluto, and 20th century boy, but I just can't get into this, none of the characters are likeable to me and I care very little about the mystery.
I'm just waiting well not really since I've all but forgotten about this, but maybe his next work will be good.
