So I thought the adaptation was a good recommendation of the game, but I've heard some people say playing the game is a way better experience.
Has anyone seen the animation and not played the game? Do you think it's a good standalone or did it seem like it went too fast?
>So I thought the adaption was a good recommendation of the game
Is this a thread where we make fun of OP
It's a good adaptation. Obviously the game is a better experience, but a lot of that is because the anime isn't 40+ hours long. Naturally, they had to leave a lot out. I still think it holds its own fairly well.
Isn't that every thread?
No not every one.
I haven't played the game and watched it. It's fine for what it is, I wouldn't take it too seriously. Luke is a massive faggot, though that's probably the same in the game.
I liked it, but the first half is definitely better than the last.
And obviously, playing the game gives you the better/more complete experience, assuming you have a PS2 and 50-60 hours to spend.
Luke and Tear are the best MC/Heroine duo, no other opinions allowed
>implying it's not Luke and Jade
Tear is a qt
I have played both the game and also watched the anime. Unfortunately, I live in NA and had to play with English dub which was not that good. The voice acting was good but some dialogues were just emotionless robot-talking. Because of that, I enjoyed the anime with Jap voice acting. Both are good.
Did the anime explain about Luke's diary? That's the best part of the game, showing Luke as he is, not using the other cast's point of view.
For my first Free-Run Tales game, I didn't like it.
But the anime adaptation was nice and I liked it.
I can confirm that he is a massive faggot in the game. At least the rest of the cast is good.
Luke did nothing wrong, fuck everyone who abandoned him. Not like they saw through the plot either.
>Luke is bad
>Everyone else is good
You've got that backwards friend.
/jrpg/ would be mad of you anon.
That's not true; Luke certainly did wrong.
It's just his actions were ultimately excuseable, and largely the fault of the rest of the team not opening their fucking mouth earlier.
I'm like 10 hours in to the game and I keep putting it down because of how obnoxious Luke and Natalia are
The other cast were bunch of hypocrite after all.
>Not liking Jade
>Not liking Tear
>Not liking Guy
Anise is the only party member worse than Luke. I actually thought Luke was an interesting character at the start of the game. I can forgive him for becoming an asshole, since he was manipulated into it. But after his character development, he became incredibly boring.
Can't remember much of it other than you get to choose who survived between Asch/Luke, beast master loli dies a sad death, and the other loli is a fucking bitch.
>hating on Luke
The only time I remember being annoyed with him was the 30 minutes to an hour or so leading up to Akzeriuth. Overall I quite liked his development (positive and negative) throughout the course of the game.
Tear was ultimately redeemable, but had her issues.
Guy needed to come clean about his problems with Luke earlier and act like the bro he both wanted and was designed to be.
Jade is absolute shit and there is no excuse for liking him nor is there any valid reason to forgive him for causing just about every problem in the series. He is Worst Playable Tales, and the only other person anywhere near his level of faggotry is Rita from Vesperia.
I still remember how gallant Luke protected Jade after party beat Nebilim to make sure he don't get similar treatment that the party give to him.
Jade didn't deserve Luke's kindness. He deserve shit after what he has done in the past and at least need to clearly say sorry in front of everyone to Luke.
But other than that i don't mind him. Asch was the biggest faggot in the game.
Ehhhh Asch had a hard life
In what? Muh Pride? Being superior than a mere replica? Being coward? He's just a faggot who blame Luke on everything.
You'd be pissed too if a clone took away everything you loved.
Actually I can't decide, I love them all.
Did you forget that Guy was going to kill Luke, and the 'bro' personality was originally just an act? Completely reversing your life's purpose isn't something you can just do instantly.
That's why I liked Jade, though. His methods of dealing with guilt were much more interesting than Luke's.
He didn't try to get it back. He was too proud for that. Did he even really want to stop Van? I remember the first thing that he said to Luke on their telepathy connection was an insult. That's all his fault.
Pissed at the 7 year old who was just a pawn, and had no willing part in the entire scheme? Pissed enough to repeatedly ignore his party's attempts to help you? Nah, Asch can go fuck himself.
His whole family and the girl he loved NTRd him for a clone. Not like they would have believed he was the real one.
>I'm the real Luke! Please believe me! Here's the proofs!
As easy as that. He had enough time to do that. Whether they will believe it or not he will know the result if only he WANT to try.
Am I remembering wrong, or didn't Natalia prefer Asch after she found out what had happened? He was just too busy being the angriest man in the world by that point.
Natalia ditched Luke after she found out he's a replica of her childhood friend.
>Taking back a waifu who was throwing her love at another, even if she thought it was you.
>Watching any anime adaptation over playing the game its based on
>Watching any adaption without being familiar with the source material first
>Thinking an adaption is a replacement for the source material
Didn't like how Namco said
>the one at the end is whoever you want it to be
I kinda liked them both.
