what did you think about oyasumi punpun /a/ if there is anything to learn from this story, what would it be?
I'm not writing your goddamn book report, what do YOU think people can learn from this story?
are you implying /a/ is my blog?
birds are retarded
Are you implying we can't share opinions on anime and manga...on /a/ - anime and manga?
punpun's story basically says life just goes on even if everything you love and care about disappears and all your hopes and dreams are crushed.
it might've been fine for punpun to live with that because hes a fucking pussy, but i don't see myself doing the same
It's the holy grail of the mature and dark seien crowd.
Learn to properly hide a body if you're going to murder someone.
what happened to seki and shimazu? did seki become the same way as shimazu near the end?
That Kokou no Hito is much better.
the love story that never meant to be and turns to gigantic shit
Was I the only one who completely forgot who Harumi was?
what if punpun went back in time and went to kagoshima with Aiko?
Is that Teitoku-san?
What if he won the lottery?
This, This, This.
So, what do you think, OP?
I learnt that even if you ae depressed as fuck with the world universe trying to shit on you, time is a fleeting thing, you will pull through and get the chance to be happy with ur daughter.
Only if you are beautiful tho.
How? He was halfway through the story in the hospital too.
I learned the importance of follow through when writing stories...
It was good for the artwork, but the story was trite and meandering, and with too many dropped plotlines.
I just finished it. There's not much to say except the cult was a complete waste and Aiko deserved better. Still fantastic though.
>the cult was a complete waste and Aiko deserved better.
Well fuck, this sums it up completely...
I learned that this fanbase uses Mangafox.
Yeah this. If they didn't find the mom none of this would have happened.
Aiko would have still been near death due to the wounds.
More like "if Aiko wasn't stabbed".
epic for the win guys ;)
How the hell did they find the body anyway? Didn't they bury it inna woods? Did they do something stupid like bury it somewhere near a trail, or put it too shallow?
Using online readers is fine, but Mangafox watermarks and has lower quality images. You're just being ignorant.
Don't even reply to that retard, just report and ignore him.
Could have went to the hospital without fear of being caught. If someone asks something about it, she just says her mom went crazy, tried to stab her and ran away somewhere. Everyone knew she was fucked in the head, so it would be believable.
You realize the hospital would call the police and they would be questioned, right? They'd find out she was crippled and the whole alibi would fall through.
A wild vegetable/plant hunter found it, chances are they buried it on some loose soil on a mountain side and a rainstorm dislodged it.
it sure is nice to have the beautiful imagination of a child. none of them saw the milky way that night, they just felt like they did and remembered it that way
/a/ - no discussion
Aiko was best girl and punpun wasn't man enough for her.
He's a coward.
>They'd find out she was crippled
Huh didn't remember the was crippled. Guess I missed that.
What music did everyone set the ending to, if any?
Was she really crippled, though? Was it an act so she can surf the internet all day while Aiko works, or was her attack just a sudden boost of adrenaline that allowed her to ignore her legs?
Komm, susser Tod and Tsubasa wo Kudasai
I liked Solanin a lot more for Inio's 'life goes on' message, more so than PunPun.
His anthologies have some pretty cute short stories on the subject too.
Right or Left, /a/?
The story of the old guy sending letters in solanin felt punpunish
i feel sorry for aiko. she had no one to trust in her entire life other than Punpun, who just happened to be a complete retard and weakling. everytime she put faith in him, he fail her and let her suffer. aiko probably killed herself after punpun taught her that hope only brings her despair
Not talking about Punpun, I'm talking about the "epic ftw" retard.
Aiko > inio's self insert
she was pretending to be crippled so Aiko would go work her ass off to make money for the both of them.
even if you find your pure virgin childhood friend waifu
be prepared for life to not be perfect
She was crippled according to medical records, you'd think. She was obviously faking it but the signs of a struggle in the room would be way too evident to just brush away with "she tried to kill and then tried to run away".
Not to mention I think Punpun would crack under interrogation.
They're both shit.
The one that doesn't look like a hick on bathsalts.
aiko. i could never forget that scene of young Aiko crying and waiting for punpun at the place they planned on meeting to escape to kagoshima. i feel like something like that happened me irl, but i can't remember exactly what it was
>Normalfags also suffer and live a shit life
>Sex doesn't guarantee a better life
>Success is meant for those who have talent
>Dreams are for those who lack such talent
>You'll never get over your first real love
>No one really cares if you don't really draw your backgrounds
Punpun was far from a normalfag though.
His parents and pretty much everyone around him except Aiko were normalfags though.
He had sex with al least three girls
it could've been perfect if he wasn't a pussy and protected her from her psycho mother. wasnt it his idea for aiko to go and say goodbye?
I had sex with 2, yet I'm still a NEET and hang out on this shit board.
>you will never kiss Aiko
>you will never run your tongue across the gap in her teeth
Is the last few chapters translated?
Dropped it around chapter 13, might pick it up again after Angel Densetsu
Asano tried way to hard and ended up with a chronicle of some faggot with no useful meaning whatsoever other than forced drama sells instead of delivering after setting it up for 150 chapters
I kind of get bored when the girl appeared, does it get better?
Hang in there Aiko ;_;
Pic ruined it.
Shimizu saw his mother die in front of him, then pretended she was still alive.
Seki had some shit going with his parents also if I remember correctly.
Sachi's dad was violent with her and she had to have plastic surgery.
The teacher guy in the end was bullied when he changed schools.
They all have some sort of fucked up shit going on.
It got pretty funny soon after that, but I'm around chapter 40 and it seems like every other chapter is really not that funny anymore.
Does that not make them normalfags?
>Seki had some shit going with his parents also if I remember correctly.
I though he was a runaway, but then he got caught up with some shit girl and all that crap.
i hope someone can shed some light on these things
what happened to seki and shimazu? did shimazu die at the end?
who did the manga girl have a baby with?
what happened to the boy on the far right in that picture? did he also die?
>did shimazu die at the end?
Seki saved him but he lost his memory. They're still friends.
If you think that is normal, I feel bad for you son.
Seki save Shimazu from burning building. Shimazu live.
Her ex husband
i think shimazu died (he was seen with pegasus and the other ppl who died), and seki didn't want to believe it so he ended up being like shimazu, blocking out reality
>Normalfags can't have problems and yet their life
You're so delusional, It's almost cute.
>the boy on the far right in that picture
Is that the badminton player? If it is, he was in the class reunion in the end, nothing special happened to him.
I thought him being on the ship was symbolic of his old self leaving
So what would it take to not be a normalfag? Be a child soldier?
Me too, but I don't get the difference with this new self
I thought he was the friend who transferred and has the party at the end when they're adults.
wat the fuck was this manga about
everytime i see a group of happy kids now im going to think that 2/3 of them will grow up living extremely shitty lives
I think he's the one on the far left, holding Punpun's hand.
Lost his memory.
Being a child soldier isn't normal? It is around where I live.
have sex and not childish hobbies
To let those problems take you away from your life and shut yourself down and cry like a little bitch. To make it short: To be like Punpun.
no, thats the kid on the far left
Please use proper spelling and punctuation.
>no fun allowed
Oh yeah, you're right. I was mixing up the badminton kid with somebody else.
a kid growing up, having his hopes and dreams crushed, and watching everything he loves die before him. he just lets life take him anywhere, like a leaf drifting in the wind. moral of the story: don't be like him
I seriously don't understand this manga. The whole subplot with the good vibrations shit confused the hell out of me. Also, did Punpun really fuck his Uncle's girl? Damn.
"Did he"? Did you not read the manga?
No, those pages were just Punpun's fantasy.
Of course he did you dolt.
the brightest object in the milky way, as seen in that picture, is called Sagittarius A*. It is located in the center of the galaxy 26000 light years away. if you can see sagittarius A now in the nightsky, it is the image of it from 26000 years ago
If you dropped this in the beginning, you won't like it near the end. It peaks it in the first half.
And you have shit taste so you'll most definitely drop it again.
I should suppose you have a refined taste
Of course, you wouldn't know though because I don't have a name attached to every opinionated post I make.
Nah, I had to search my memory. I thought it added to the effect of his and Punpun's last conversation. He couldn't remember Punpun's name and I couldn't remember his.
So what exactly was God and that UFO with the poop supposed to represent? I suck at reading into these kind of things.
Both were manufactured beings created by the respective people. God manifested as malicious God not only criticizing punpun actively, but egging him on further to embrace what he saw as his evil thoughts and desires.
Poop was just escapism for the cult, creating something so outrageous because they failed to cope with the stress of their lives.
Going to a brothel doesn't make you a normie.
Did anyone else think it ended with a bit too much fluff?
Maybe I just have shit taste, but when he was just laying there, bleeding out, and staring up at the meteor shower, I felt like it was setting up for a really impactful and open ending.
Sachi finding him and pretty much everything that came after just felt unnecessary and a bit out of tone with the rest of it.
It really isn't. The only interesting character in Kokou no Hito was Mori, and the story kind of went to shit in the second half.
Punpun is the opposite of that, all secondary characters are very well written, some of them even on par with the MC.
Aiko. Especially in that picture, the bruises make her even cuter.
Everything after Sachi finding him seemed fluffy. I think her finding him was necessary to reinforce the 'life goes on' message.
I fucking want an artbook (and more aiko wallpapers)
>Sachi's dad was violent with her and she had to have plastic surgery
No, she had plastic surgery because she was fugly as hell
I want a Viz Signature release of the whole thing.
Their Solanin release is pretty great.
If you make a story about rejects in society, rejects on /a/ will eat that shit up.
I can pretend Gina Gerson is Aiko
I suppose the main takeaway would be that when dealing with the adversities life can have, it is better to look toward the future and simply do one's best than to dwell upon the ideals and misgivings on one's past. Life is bound to fail to meet the expectations you dreamed of in your youth and the past is never as you remember it, placing value in it when determining who you are and what your life means will only bring you misery.
That and it is our generation's duty to not neglect the youth as we (specifically PunPun and his friends) were, you see that shift with the genuine empathy from Harumin, slowly breaking the cycle of generations left with no where to turn when faced with the cold realities of life.
Oh and more than anything, pic related
That life is not fair.
That even though you suffered all throughout your life, it doesn't mean that you get a happy ending in the end.
That even though you do your best, it does not guarantee that you'll be successful at the end.
That there isn't always a light at the end of the tunnel.
FUCK YOU ASANO
what a cute girl! i hope she is not being abused at home by her parents like aiko
What is the significance of Pegasus and his crew?
Is Asano just mocking Christianity?
However, it also says to keep trying and pushing forward, because that's the beauty of life.
She ended as a porn actress, like aiko would ended
Does anyone have the full res version of this saved?
Legal age porn actress?
Japanese are superstitious as all fuck and prone to joining cults. It's less mocking and more blatant use of themes.
Storywise it's all metaphor for what was going on throughout the whole thing. Anything Pegasus said that halfway made sense is the best gist you're going to get without me rereading the whole thing.
I honestly just thought Pegasus was fuckign annoying.
He contributed nothing to the story. Except probably that Seki storyline
Pleease, anyone? Even the volume where this can be found so I can crop them together myself D:
I've never seen a cult leader before that was written well enough to be both obviously insane, yet charismatic enough that you want to listen. He was beautifully unnerving and if I ever want to save the world from the black spot I hope I have the same effect.
That you can get away with murder in japan
Here you go faggot.
Literally 1 minute in Google you shit
Is it just me or is her left eye red?
Is it an effect of the stabbing?
anyone know why aiko decided to kill herself? do you guys think it was selfish of her to do such a thing?
It's been that way since she got the black eye right before that.
What was the point of the cult? They only affect the side characters right?
And what is the meaning of the Daruma Punpun kicked?
I'm so confused.
She knew they weren't going anywhere, she hasn't had future, she was literally dying, so she ended that nosense and freed punpun.
Anyone would kill themselves if they are beaten as fuck, have a hole in the stomach, accompany with a batshit insane bird and being chased for murdering.
Most pretentious manga of all time
I love it
>tfw you realize Asano self-insert into a lot of the side characters of his manga
Even the old man. Look at that neck.
Punpun isn't actually a bird, in case you didn't catch on.
>Batshit insane bird
Punpun isn't actually a bird anon. Surprised you didn't catch on to that.
He did have that personality cult thing to him. Not the phoney Stalin one, but a more Hitler-ish one.
Are you perturbed by the performance that I have put on with the purpose of putting you into a state of not well-being?
Which is your favorite side character?
I don't know why but I really like Harumi, especially his interaction with Punpun.
I liked his High School friend...abs guy.
Guys....this is the first time I shed a tear while watching/reading any sort of media.
Not full blown crying, but I shed a tear.
It's just...so sad.
It's just...not fair.
So Harumin obviously brought the story full-circle, showing that the children of the following generation have the potential to have lives similar to Punpun and company.
But did anyone notice how similar Harumin looks to Punpun's elementary school teacher?
That's not Blame.
That was definitely the single most powerful page of manga I have ever read.
I made it through EVERYTHING without being spoiled except for this page, so it didn't hit me hard.
I think the letter from his mother right after her death hit me the hardest, considering I didn't like her character before it.
I know it would change the manga, but how would it be if Punpun wasn't drawn as a bird? Or if at the end we saw his face in complete despair like on this page >>101607219
Considering he spends a majority of his time as a listener rather than a speaker, there's really no need for a face. I liked the teasing that it started to show near the end, but that's all it really needed.
Not to mention it gave plenty of opportunities for visual gags that would otherwise be filled with just buildings or frowning.
