Best Mecha anime of the 2000s (00- 09) in no particular order.
Tetsujin 28th (2004)
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (2008)
Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector (2010)
Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-Hen (2009)
Brigadoon: Marin & Melan (2000)
Gear Fighter Dendoh (2000)
Full Metal Panic (2004)
Gaiking Legend of Daikyu Maryu (2005)
Agreed? Anything else that needs to be added?
Oh shit, I thought I was on /m/.
Can't delete post now.
Needs more Shin Jeeg.
Add Valvrave (2013)
Valvrave is after 2009.
>Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector (2010)
What is Gurren Lagann?
What is Code Geass?
perfect for a great shit storm on /m/.
Oh shit you're right.
Gurren Lagann isn't best at anything. I'm looking for best here.
Geass is a bit too stupid for my tastes.
And yet you have FLAG on there....
FLAG has an original concept rarely seen in other anime.
For that alone, it earns its place in the list.
You could pretend Turn A makes it in there if you ignore the usual rules a little.
I'll make a best of 90s next time.
Where is this from?
It did air for 4 months in 2000 and both the films were post 2000 though. Rules are rules I suppose.
Sagara a best.
Getter Robo Armageddon.
Thanks gonna check it out
My bad I was sure it was 2001. Got it confused with Mazinkaiser.
Whats wrong with geass?
You're joking right?
Brigadoon wasn't that good but I guess if you're gonna have Mazinkaiser there you can roll with anything.
yeah you are a faggot
Both Code Geass and Gurren Lagann are rather over-the-top and exaggerated fantasy-based fiction so it's rather meaningless to complain about stupidity. What's more stupid than robots who grow into other robots who get even larger because of SPIRAL POWER? It's kind of a dead-end argument.
>Geass is a bit too stupid for my tastes.
Considering your tastes apparently include the complete mess that was SRW OG: The Inspector as well as similar shows like Gundam 00, that's rather selective.
>arguing about stupid robots with Mazinger on the list
It's an alternate continuity spinoff ova. You might want to familiarize yourself with Getter Robo first (by reading Getter Robo Saga).
Gundam 00 shouldn't be there since season 2 exists.
I liked Heroic Age.
Stupid robot, but not stupid writing.
There's a difference.
Geass doesn't have stupid robots, but the writing I thought was mindblowingly stupid.
By the way, I'm no longer updating this thread since I said it was a mistake that I posted it here in the first place
Go to /m/ and suggest CG to the list if you want. I don't take updates here anymore.
Zone of the Enders Dolores,i
>Stupid robot, but not stupid writing.
But you put 00.
>Stupid robot, but not stupid writing.
But there is plenty of that too. Kamina did not need to die and neither did Nia, etc.
>Geass doesn't have stupid robots
Actually, it does.
>but the writing I thought was mindblowingly stupid.
The point is it's not more stupid than other stuff on the list, you selective hipster.
>The point is it's not more stupid than other stuff on the list, you selective hipster.
I disagree. I think CG writing is one step lower than 00.
It's on par with SEED Destiny.
>I disagree. I think CG writing is one step lower than 00.
>It's on par with SEED Destiny.
No, not really. Then again, you're hypocritical enough to say this so I'm not surprised by your arguments being so shallow and selective.
Case in point: what exactly was intelligent at all about Mazinkaiser? Nothing, especially when you've going Shin Mazinger on the list.
Then there's the whole nonsense of the OG2 plot used to make The Inspector.
I think you're being selective too.
Either way, i'm in /m/. This thread was a mistake.
You can suggest updating the list with CG in /m.
Mazinger isn't intelligent, but it wasn't stupid.
Mazinkaiser was simple, but had well done cell drawn animation. That's special.
Shin Mazinger has an interesting story. Again my opinions, if you want to suggest, go to /m/.
I removed OG2 already.
I'm not going to suggest it. I think there's no point in this entire endeavor.
And yet you have 00 there, the second season of which is just as bad plot wise as Geass.
>Mazinger isn't intelligent, but it wasn't stupid.
Please take off those rose-colored glasses.
>And yet you have 00 there, the second season of which is just as bad plot wise as Geass.
The argument could be made that those shows weren't really about plot in the first place but about other things.
