Any thoughts about season 2 about Gargantia?
It's probably going to be disappointing shit.
What else is there to tell?
Ledo has abandonned the army entirely and all conflicts have been solved.
First season sucked and I couldn't care less about season 2.
What's there left to tell? S1 ended up being Urobuchi's dullest work and Chamber's gone.
is chamber coming back?
Director gets the credit for Gargantia. Urobuchi didn't create Gargantia - He just wrote the script because he can write.
I don't know what else they could possibly add.
So just like the first season then.
>because he can write
I mean he has wrote scripts before. Not that he is talented.
It's probably going to be as bad as S1. The episode where everyone got angry at Ledo killing the pirates that were about to rape that one cute girl and then told him not to kill the pirates that later attacked him was pure shit.
I loved season one so I'm excited. I have no idea where they'll go with the plot though.
I don't know why Gargantia is so disliked around here.
He's better than most. Making a good story about fruit themed heroes takes skill.
so uhhh more robots? or maybe squid robots?
>I don't know why Gargantia is so disliked around here.
-Ledo no baka
-Too much SoL
-Not enough SENMETSU
-Chamber not relevant enough
Those are the common points.
In theory, scriptwriters should have a lot of control over the work.
Even if the director came up with the plot, characters, and setting, the scriptwriters still hash out the dialog, are still responsible for how and where of it, should still be responsible for making sure everything is consistent and the sympathetic characters are actually sympathetic.
>the monster are people!
see, it's not that hard, take example like....okay i got nothing.
can't find any as good as gaim
It was the most hyped up of the three Mecha shows pre-season but Valvrave proved to be far more entertaining and Majestic Prince ended up being MoTY 2013.
Yeah, but only if they get the approval for that.
Butcher and the director probably sat together and tried to find the best solutions.
Gargantia wasn't that bad, but anons got really disappointed because
>butcher butcher butcher
and then nobody died, except for some tin cans.
Everybody was just waiting for half the cast being killed off.
I was hyped to see space mecha show, it turned out to be waterworld sol.
Well I like waterworld SoL so that wasn't a problem for me.
My problem with it is that I love military SoL, but the director sucks at it. He was trying to have his cake and eat it with action scenes and TWEEESTS and story shit, but also the slow paced SoL stuff, and that fucking kills the pacing to have it interspersed like that.
The other ridiculously massive critical failing of the show that completely ruins the premise of the military SoL is that the world is completely detestable. The Gargantians are unlikeable hick assholes with this ridiculously hypocritical and self-serving "pacifism" bent and every individual is a prick on their own. I hated everyone because they kept giving me reasons to hate them and I couldn't understand why Ledo continually put up with their bullshit. The world itself is awful. It's an ocean world of reeking salvaging fleets eking out an existence by scavenging the old world while living in abject fear of nature instead of harmonizing with it or even understanding it. Violence is constant and petty, and no one has any real higher calling than day-to-day survival.
Nobody would want to live on this shit-heap of a planet. It fucking sucks.
When I watch Sora no Woto, I see the beauty of the post-apocalypse, and the idyllic humble lives they lead in the bastion. I want to live in (or at least visit) notCuenca and take in the natural and man-made beauty.
When I watch Gargantia, all I see is a grim, bleak, and stupid vision of the future: scrap fleets and bitches.
Will they fuck?
You know who am I talking about
More Bellows and a glorious OST again and I'm a happy person.
From what I remember, most people seemed disappointed in the fact that the show was 90% SoL and Ledo being healed, instead of normal plot progression and butchering. People didn't expect it to be a purely character-drive show, I guess.
But Gargantia IS NOT a military SoL you idiot.
More bellydancing please.
Also have them elaborate on why loli Amy was scene in that video about the Hideauz
I thought Chuuni S2 was the most unnecessary second season of something until this get announced.
There's absolutely nothing to see here anymore, it won't lead to anywhere even harder than S1.
I hope this flops like shit.
I will probably watch this anyway because fuck it, I need to watch at least the first 3 episodes so I can confirm it's shit once and for all.
This post is accurate. Couldn't put it on a better way.
I haven't seen season 1, so I'll hold off prejudging season 2.
Since people are saying that season 1 of Gargantia was no good, I'll probably not watch it and watch Lain instead.
I just want more Saaya.
Sci-fi SoL might be a better term for it, but you know what I mean: this show was supposed to be about Gargantia, not squid aliens and mecha.
Once you get past that, you realize how much Gargantia (the fleet) sucks, and therefore how much Gargantia (the show) sucks.
>listening to /a/
That's also disregarding that most people that have seen it liked it.
Why don't you form your own opinions instead of listening to the /pol/tards?
That being said, not having seen Lain is inacceptable.
were on /a/, what you expect
. gargantia was great.
plor twist about hidaezue was whack tho
I loved the episode with the Hideauze reveal.
>you realize how much Gargantia (the fleet) sucks
I'm not a deluded retard who thinks that there is a higher calling for a bunch of pieces of dust, sorry.
Yeah, along with the Titan reveal that was a glorious season.
Why wouldn't you be able to watch both Lain and Gargantia?
Because I'm currently watching Dancouga.
You better not disappoint me season 2, you didn't show former Ledo's waifu.
So what are you saying, that the setting is inherently crap?
Gargantia just has no clue what the fuck it's doing. It's not a serious sci-fi show about an apocalyptic world because everyone seems to get along just fine and has commodities like heaploads of running water and fucking COW MEAT that even small fry like Pinon can procure. It's not a high sci-fi show because the thing does fuck-all with the war setting. It's not a show about the difficulties of integrating because Ledo gets handed everything in a silver plate and walked by the hand through it by scantily clad bitches. The show tries to do a bunch of things and does none of them right.
It's a HEALING show.
what did it heal exactly?
I mean there was no wound to heal from
nor was the show so good that it heal anything.
Amy was pretty shit as a character, her brother was better character as he was more understanding that Amy was.
Then there was the comment near the end trying to justify how the third opinion ( living on earth) was the better choice.
>I mean there was no wound to heal from
Well, then this show was probably not for you.
Please move along and ignore it for the sake of yourself and everyone else.
Is it just gonna be SOL stuff? because while the setting is kinda cool I'm kinda good on SOL for a while.
Not entirely most likely.
They wouldn't want to piss of the SENMETSUfags so there most likely will be something about octopussies again.
>Director gets the credit for Gargantia. Urobuchi didn't create Gargantia
Not this shit again
