Pretty decent watch. The animation is a little...is very unstable(it goes from good to crap at the most unopportune moments).

And I'd zone out sometimes when they were talking about quantum physics and shit...but I enjoyed it.

I thought it was funny that they kept showing Haruka in the bathtub through the first couple episodes. Although the whole quantum physics thing was a bit confusing, the anime in general had an easy to follow storyline. Good fight scenes too. I wish they could have explained how Noein got his hax powers though. Actually although they could have explained a lot more, they didn't really need to.

tl;dr Good plot, action, and art. Needed to explain more.

I like the somewhat odd art style, fictionilizing quantum physics is pretty cool, and having the always-cheerful girl being the main chracter instead of the pussy boy was a great move, but as usual, the writing is a failure.

It moves strongly for about 10 episodes, but then it meanders around until going for the cliche emo bullshit ending. A real disapointment.

Haruka is love.

Ok, I guess I'll call it the cliche ANTI-emo ending.

Suddenly, out of the blue, after being cheerful and optimistic the entire series, Haruka goes emo and needs Yuu to help her out of it. The series doesn't build up to that point at all. It just suddenly happens.

In case you haven't noticed, an ending that more or less says "don't kill yourself" has been a whopping anime cliche for years.
>>
Not bad. But I couldn't believe how much QUALITY there was around the middle and end. My eyes were burning for entire episodes.

>>
>>10157867
It wasn't like that the entire time at all. It gradually built up which each episode. Especially when she got taken to the future time space where everyone was underground. Reality hit her. It didn't throw anything in your face at all
>>
>>10157888

>>
>>10157964
Bullshit. She never loses her cheerfulness. She's shocked and surprised by her adventures in the future, but when she gets back, she's as smiley as ever.

Furthermore, the prime thing that bummed her out was Noein showing her a dimension where she dies, and all her friends end up miserable and implied that this terrible future was an inevtiability...but the series had explained SEVERAL TIMES that there are an infinite number of dimensions, so what is showing ONE dimension supposed to be able to imply?

Series doesn't even obey the rules it creates for itself.
>>
>>10158117
how the hell do you expect her to understand the multiple universes hypothesis?
>>
>>10158147
They spent an entire episode explaining it to her! When she tried to fix her parents' marriage.

Regardless, the AUDIENCE is given a good explanation of it, so watching an ignorant fail to understand it isn't very interesting. What would be the point?

A bigger question is why Noein doesn't understand it. Oh, right, he's an emo strawman. Yawn.

You forget the part where it is said that all dimensions are merging with Shangrila.
Besides, he is showing her one of the possible futur, and for him, the only possible futur of Haruka dimension. I remember that Haruka says something like "But the future isn't decided yet. There is many possibilities" and the evil guy answer "Oh ? Really ? Let me show you the future" or something like that.

Really, no contradiction here.
>>
pencil sketch anime is not a finished anime.
>>
>>10158365
There's no such thing as "the only possible future"...that's the POINT. Becuause of quantum, you can't predict or travel to your own real future, only a possible future. She PROVED it after Yuu gave the standard "cheer up!" speech by showin a dimension where she dies but Yuu adjusts to it healthily.

Doesn't merging with Shangrila more or less mean oblivion? So that's got nothing to do with it.
>>
>>10158482
>>There's no such thing as "the only possible future"...that's the POINT.

You should watch the two lasts episodes again. The only guy who states that there's only one possible future is the evil one. Haruka, after awakening from the nightmare (or sort of) reply to that with the fact that no, the futur isn't decided yet.

By the way, the most awesome character in this show is the old yuu, the one which helps Haruka with his wisdom.

It's only when she is in dispair by what she sees that she is confused.

>>
>The only guy who states that there's only one possible future is the evil one.
But why does HE believe it when it's so obviously untrue given how they explained the multi-universe thing?

It's just bland emofaggotry. It's the same old "Don't kill yourself, kids!" ending, rather than actually using its science-fiction premise for anything sensible.
>>
lol i watched this soon after i began anime
hella good
>>
>>10158735
>>But why does HE believe it when it's so obviously untrue given how they explained the multi-universe thing?

Because he is still swallowing world with Shangrila (the merging dimension concept is to be taken literally) and that, well, he is insane ?

There's no point on arguing this on the scientific quantum-matter. It's like in Escaflowne with the whole thing of fate (Noein has a lot in common with Escaflowne...).
>>
>>10158814
But did Escaflowne explicity explain (several times) why the emo premise was literally IMPOSSIBLE?

Even if Haruka is confused, and Noein is insane, the audience has no reason to feel any tension because it's been explained to us exactly how they're both wrong.

What's the point in writing a story like this?

Not to mention it's been done a hundred times before.
>>
>>10158906

Well, that's funny because I'm agreeing with you (I'm not >>10157964 or >>10158147 btw)
. That's not a good storytelling and I find the ending rather lame. After episodes of BAAAAAW (the one where one character dies by the hand of the evil guy, and the one when she discovers the dimension of Karasu), we got the easy ending.

But it makes sense, and it's not illogical as you may have stated before. IT's precisely because of the whole "there is mutiple futurs" that there is still hope in the future, granted that there is a dimension where "everyone is happy", and thus this end.
On the opposite, the evil guy was only living in the past, his clarity of mind shadowed by the death of his Haruka. The opposition is quite clear here.

So there is no problem with the rules of Noein dimensions.
>>
>>10159049
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here.

Yes, the quantum rules it set meant there's "hope for the future" and that Noein is wrong, as indeed Haruka proved, so the outcome isn't illogical...but it was rather a foregone conclusion, wasn't it? We'd already been told why Noein was wrong long before his motivations became clear. Noein's position is what's illogical, and I don't see why Haruka fell for it. Where's the dramatic tension?

It would be like having a story about Columbus where he's afraid he's going to fall off the edge of the world. We know he's wrong, so the conflict is meaningless. Since we know he's wrong, only the fact that he's experiancing doubt is of any interest to the audience...and of what narrative vaule is the fact that Haruka experiances doubt and despair given that she showed no tendacy towards it before?
