Sort of anime related, but I pulled a signed Araragi card today from my Weiss Schwarz TD. Glorious signature. Anyone else play Weiss?
Can I get a signed Eri Kitamura character card if I played this?
I got lucky with a signed Senjougahara.
Waiting for boosters to come out so I can get a box or two.
There really needs to be more series out. I really want to play Angel Beats and Little Busters.
>sort of anime related
>actual card game
Cool, let me make a thread about anime video games and see how well that goes over.
If they release im@s in english, I'll be playing.
Are they literally signed individually by their VAs or are they just prints?
I would actually play it if they managed to get a wider rooster of characters.
>That feel when I'll never make a Kinnikuman deck
Ok so i'll be the first one to ask : What is this?
Waifu Wars: the Card Game.
looks like just a print
Try looking at the OP post and taking a wild guess.
I play im@s in Weiss. The people who play at my local card shop are super spergs, somehow worse than other card gamers. I love the people who pay 30 dollars for sleeves of their waifu and then pay another 30 for sleeves to protect those sleeves.
>not just preordering for 5
I laugh with you anon, but just know, if they ever release my waifu's series, and then sleeves of her, I'd pay double to do the same thing. Not that I'll ever be that lucky though.
I've always wanted to play a Mami deck with custom head-less Mami sleeves just to piss off a friend of mine who really likes her.
Weiss and Vanguards players are the biggest spergs. I used to play Vanguard at my locals and 90% of the people were autistic.
>That smiley face
I've seen some groups of non-spergy Vanguard players (though the majority of the players really are asshats). Same with Weiss.
OP here, I'm a judge for Vanguard and have been to worlds/world qualifiers a couple times and can confirm this. Weiss players I would say are actually a little better depending on the deck they play (since it signifies their knowledge of some anime beyond the big three), but the SAO and Madoka players are generally the shit-tier sperglords.
Vanguard is full of autism though and it's one of the reasons why I stopped competing and started judging. Literally full of fedora tipping aspies.
They're gold prints, so gold foiling (just looks nice, doesn't make it super valuable). I actually have a VA (actual signature) signed Fairy Tail Levy card though.
>implying it isn't an interesting topic and board-related
>30 dollars for waifu sleeves
>implying this thread hasn't received more bumps than half the threads on this board
>Weiss players I would say are actually a little better depending on the deck they play
Tell us what decks you play so we can judge you.
Okay, it's finally time to pick this game up.
foreign pls go
I bet you use 2nd edition cards too.
Yeah, some of the Vanguard players (like myself and my group of friends) were just into competitive card games and happened to play Vanguard. Those type of players are not the majority, though. Most of them are complete retards that watch the anime and actually think they're in the anime when playing. Out of all the Vanguard players I met, only 2 or 3 were actually decent people.
Is my waifu viable?
Can you mix shows or does it do the YGO thing of making using specific themes a requirement because of super specific effects that are worthless otherwise?
Her new stuff made the deck a lot better. Running straight-up only Shinobu is probably a bad idea though
And there are deck construction rules that restrict you to a certain series. There's a format that lets you mix series but not many people play that.
Your waifu is very viable. The strength would go down a bit if you do a pure Shinobu deck, but if you mixed in other characters, you'd probably have a very competitive deck.
That's a shame. I would have liked to gobble together a ShinoNanoFate deck.
I don but i only have madoka and miku cards and it's like nobody in my city knows about them, also is there a way to get bakemono cards? i looked around on the internet and they are sold out everywhere.
I play Monogatari, Gargantia, and Shining Force. Though I do have all the other trials decks, just not that much support for them.
Internet only for foreign cards, english Bake boosters aren't actually out for a couple more weeks iirc.
Vanguard and Weiss are literally autistic. Why would you spend hundreds of dollars on an almost purely luck based game? If you want to see pictures of cute girls just go on Pixiv.
I tried WS when it first arrived at my LGS. I've been a player of Pokemon, Duel Masters, Yu Gi Ho, Magic (only one I still play), and Vanguard over the years, and I can honestly say that WS is the worst card game I've ever played. Absolutely terrible, mechanically.
Good taste but scumbag deck fuck Kaiki
I like it
I play Project Diva, Melty Blood, and Railgun. Railgun is mainly for tierwhoring purposes
The luck makes it fun. I played YGO until Dragon format, I won't deny that it takes skill but the fact that stronger decks will usually shit on weaker decks makes it a little boring and stagnant. I won't deny that WS and VG are shitty games either
Nice, i wish there was more variety where i buy mine but sadly there's only 4 series and since i and i friend of mine are the only ones who seem to buy them i don't think the guy at the story is bringing more.
>english Bake boosters aren't actually out for a couple more weeks iirc.
Good the bad thing is like i mentioned i don't think my store is bringing more so i wonder if there's a good site to buy them online.
I like collecting stuff.
So is Weiss different from YGO? I wasn't interested at first since the ones out in English are meguca and sao but since Monogatari has some English cards I'm quite curious...
I've played WS, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh and I can tell you that WS isn't near as shit as Yu-Gi-Oh.
Hold on there nigger, YGO had the most fun video games
So is this game basically an english Chaos TCG? ive been wanting to play that but dont know enough moon or no anyone else who would play it.
Clearly you've never played Buddy Fight haha.
>Look up Monogatari's booster/deck
>Like 50% or more of the cards are Hitagi
>Barely any Araragi/Oshino and none of the other specialists whatsoever
This is a bad bet no matter how you look at it. At least if you go Yellow (I'm assuming you're supposed to focus on a primary color) you get the Shinobu/Hachikuji Loli Dream Team but god damn.
Probably gonna have to stick with ebay or amazon for buying the boxes, Weiss is still in baby mode in the US, though it's getting gradually more popular.
Too bad they stopped making them.
>go play magic a few weeks ago
>some random dude and his gf are alone at a table playing this game
>she's using some kind of SA:O starter deck
>he has a miku deck in miku sleeves and a miku mat
>sitting back to back with dude
>randomly overhear him explaining rules now and then
>she even asks questions and remembers rules as if she cares
>get up to use restroom
>see her expression
hoooooooooooly fuck I couldn't stop myself from laughing
pointed out, the Kaiki deck is scumbag but really fun. I run Hachikuji/Kaiki because best girls
If you count the games that weren't about the card game, sure.
RIP Dungeon Dice Monsters.
why is araragi such a qt?
I don't get it? A neckbeard and his girlfriend were having fun and you laughed at them? Explain more, what was her expression like?
I don't have beef with the Kaiki deck (does that even exist?), just this one fucking card
pop my 500 power support tap for anti counter run over my shit with Hitagi for a +2 so I can't push up my supports as rammers no problem
I've played Vanguard since it came out and to me, there's no worst game out there than this. The game is so simple that the learning curve to get the most out of yours plays can be learned in a single day (if you have common sense and can do basic maths) so all it comes down to is who gets the most triggers during the game (which is purely luck based). The game prevents you to mix and match different clans/archetype, so even in term of deck building, there's no real difference. There's also the problem of getting fucked in the ass if you're not picking one of the anime protagonist deck as they're the only clans/archetype being well supported even though there's bunch of other clans already released. Just overall horrible game.
How well do the other Monogatari characters play? What are some popular anime decks people play?
>english weiss cards
Been repping that lowtier blue/yellow evangelion deck for a while now, think I'll pick up a new set this year.
It's not really a Kaiki-centric deck, but yes that card.
it's Green/Yellow/Red and focuses on constant beatdowns for low costs.
Lycee > Magic > Yugioh > Weiss
My guess is that the girl's expression was something similar to pic related.
Fuck man, I don't need another hobby. I have too many different decks from too many games to count... Shame I never talk to anybody
>not the most lucksack game ever
Until you get to worlds and get triple-healed in a game and then they double crit you with a Cross-rode Dragonic Descent you will never understand true luck.
I will agree that it's learning curve is really low, I pretty much mastered the game mechanics on my second game, though sometimes getting climaxes and triggers actually hurt you more than help you.
The Bakemono trial deck is actually really good in terms of what is out in the US atm, and as I posted earlier, the booster sets aren't coming out for a few weeks so there isn't much support unless you buy them online.
Most played deck is the SAO one, not only because it's SAO, but because it's really strong.
The only good card in that set is the L3 Silica and the 1/0 Marker Asuna in some situations
The problem with the Monogatari Trial Deck is that it's basically the Senjougahara Trial Deck, so using it is a punishment of it's own.
I thought Kinoko draws his mushroom avatar for his signature.
Also, this fucking set is fucking cheap, fuck this card and it's effect.
Why hello there
my english deck is a pure green homura/madoka love deck. Fuck buying those ultimate madokas was a pain in the ass
Is it possible to monkey/arararararagi?
very. monkey has a great change to lvl3
What if OPM had a deck?
Are you man enough to win with me?
What is the best place to buy those cards?
u must be socal
Too bad I run Madoka and not Shana
Can't heal loop as effectively when that shit comes on the field, I've lost at 2-4 before to that stupid card.
A friend told me that there's a Lucky Star card that gives +50 soul or something, is that true?
Best way to play against it is to just rush the shit out of them. Most builds don't even play the healer and they'll be holding 1-2 Gates all the time
They have a searcher that gives +1k times number of Soul to another character when it attacks too
here's a shot of my deck from a few years ago. I've since updated it with anime stuff.
There's not much use for it other than guaranteeing a cancel though. Someone actually did the math on the chances of losing a game to this card, you have a better chance of being hit by a bolt of lightning.
I those get released in English i will become poor pretty fast.
Fuck I'd play the shit out of that deck just to see if I could get someone with that card.
>buying english Fate/Zero knowing there will never be an English Stay Night/Hollow Ataraxia/ FZ Extra set released
>buying English Fate/Zero
Pic related it's not mine
>When this card enters the stage, you may discard 5 cards to put this card into your opponent's level zone.
Have fun using that money for something more responsible than animu cards.
Kara no Kyoukai set when
If it wasn't Wooser would probably be toptier no joke
It's banned from tournament play, otherwise there's plenty of ways to get that card out in the Wooser set
Enjoy your super expensive promo.
My friend does and he got a foil Saber on his first booster while i had to buy like 20 Project Diva booster to get one.
I do but i was talking about the money i use for hobbies.
You can guarantee a foil card if you buy 20 boosters at once.
I've seen this game before at Cons, how does one start playing it, and which sets are the strongest of the English boosters?
>bought a whole box's worth of boosters to get a 1-per-box XR
my buddies birthday just passed and this looks like a pretty fun thing to get him, while also grabbing one for myself. I cant help but play and learn the meta though so... if i go with a trial should i go madoka or monagatari? Im interested in them specifically but dont want something that isnt viable.
You won't be investing in Weiss then since Im@s will never be translated. The only sets that seem to be coming are Aniplex and PDF from Sega since they own the rights to both English and Japanese versions.
I know Funimation has no interest in letting the Weiss cards for the things they have the rights to in the US (Shana, Raildex) without some form of profit.
They're both pretty good.
Bought a box of SAO since I heard there was an $180 signed Silca card in it, pulled it, and then three packs later pulled another because the box had rarity errors in it, felt fucking good man.
Agreed. Madoka apparently tops more in Japan though, Monogatari will be better once support hits in a few weeks.
Although IIRC they actually stopped printing Madoka boosters?
If you want to play Madoka, skip the trial deck and go straight for Boosters (if you can find them, English Madoka is getting increasingly out of print). Monogatari's trial deck is pretty decent, especially since it comes with two copies of the Climax cards every set uses (Comeback Gate)
If you want something competitive don't bother with either Trial Deck. No harm in getting them if you just want to try the game out though
I was wondering why they were going to print Love Live cards in English, and then I saw this:
Japanese are getting a reprint of the Madoka boosters (coinciding with this month's Homura Promo card they're giving at sanctioned tournament stores), English Madoka is out of print however.
That's the reason why we're getting LL as the next set? That's retarded. Could they not get licensing for another series instead or something?
Clocking enemies she kills seems hilarious.
I think they're still trying to figure out what sets people want to see.
And she can rest her CONT booster for even more power, oh lawdy
She can use that as many times a turn as you want. In other words, you can tap your two backrow, bond for a 1/0 and tap both the bond and 1/0 to give it 16k before supports and hop over Counters. Pretty fucking annoying
Such a shame.
That ability isn't anything new, 3/2 Sadistic Music Factory Miku from PDF and 3/2 Rider from F/Z can both do. This gives an alternative utility to Mono green decks though
Obligatory repost on every ws card thread.
Not unless they're packaged together. People can weigh packs.
more like trying to figure out which series that don't have any copyright clash in NA.
I got a signed Araragi card too.
I don't want it
Hidamari set when?
I wanted to see if there was anything fun to do based off of the fact that Kyousuke and Touma are both 上条, but the only actual Lv0 上条 Raildex card I could find is ID/W13-090: Index, Freeloader at the Kamijou Residence.
Touma is 当麻
A lot of Touman cards drop to Level 0 when they hit the field though, read their effects
Angel Beats is coming to NA, and their distributor is Sentai Filmworks.
There's also a Disgaea trial deck from way back that NIS America put out. This was before the Madoka and Fate Zero sets were revealed to be translated.
His surname is 上条.
And Sayaka Finds Her Wish only cares about the printed level of the Kamijou card, which is why I said "actual Lv0".
I can't wait to taste those delicious feelsfag tears when AB ends up being Extra Booster only
I havent played for quite some time, any power creeping yet in ws?
Saving card game .
Which series were around when you last played?
Some of the older sets are still quite strong (and would probably be stupid without the banlist)
I'm surprised Kill la Kill isn't being translated/simultaneously released, that's what they're trying to push this year.
So, that bullshit haruka lv1 isn't banned yet?
It's Choice of 3, you can't run it with the 0/0 Lost Azusa or 3/2 Ancient CApital Takane
I think it's azusa or that lv3 heal, so that deck up there isn't legal.
toss Soul+2 Climax and enjoy instant win .
Madoka and F/Z were pushed hard by both Aniplex and Bushiroad at AX last year. I wouldn't be surprised if the same occurs this year with Kill la Kill.
Seeing that it has a Shana deck I am kind of interested about the game. Can anyone tell me what is the specialty of Shana deck?
>IP address banned by admin.
Wut. I didn't even go to that website before.
You drop a solid field and keep it in on the board until late game since your attackers all have regenerate, then late game you drop a bunch of stuff and kill them. Your supports have reactive abilities so it that makes it hard to get over your attackers.
Why waifu will never be a card, so no.
Dump it for $40
Sounds like best effects ever. Is it one of the best deck to get in this card game?
It's one of the more solid decks around in my opinion, since it's one of the few decks that have early free reactive abilities. It's a little expensive and hard to find since it's an older series though
Recently became interested in this game, but have no clue where to start. Any tips on how to begin?
Can you read Japanese and have a PSP?
Start with the PSP game.
There's a fairly strong community for this game close to me.
I play Nichijou (Hakase/Nano), Lucky Star(Twins), Index(Touma), and Bakemono (Hachikuji).
Shana is ok, but you might be a faggot for building it.
I'm going to assume the Muv Luv and Date A Live packs I saw at a con was not in english... right?
It was the first time I'd ever seen Weiss Schartz.
Is it just my psp or the game have unbearable loading time?
Those weren't WS. Muv Luv is in ChaOS and DAL is in Victory Spark
Best english trial deck?
Tell me one thing is there a Read or Die deck yet?
Bushiroad only do fad of the month animus.
Yeah, the trial just looks like a solid place to start. I dont think i have the know-how to just buy booster and build a deck around it, even if i have been familiar with TCG the majority of my life (this game seems a bit confusing but after watching some videos, i think i have the general grasp)
Is it as fun as it looks? I know it sounds silly but i was having a blast just watching some games on youtube. the milling aspect of the game keeps things exciting in my opinion.
And after looking at the prices, even though im leaning more towards madoka, if i want to buy boosters ill probably want to go with monogatari
It's almost solitaire play. You almost don't get to do anything but flip damages at oppoent's turn. This is probably my biggest qualm about this game.
Trading cards are the most brilliant Jew-devised product in history. Waifus are one of the most clever creations of the Japanese Jew to get otaku to buy things.
Combining the two is quite clever, and given that only autists play TCGs in the first place, combined with waifufagging, it should drive the price up of many waifu-tier cards. Need more money? Just print out a few limited-edition versions of the most popular waifus with alt art and watch your stacks grow.
WS is stingy as fuck about signed cards though.
In precious memories' TD, you are guaranteed a sign. It's just the matter of which one.
Also in pm, you get a coupon from booster box.
Send em in for a lottery with the prize being real handsigned cards.
I don't get why people are pouring money into this shit, though.
It's just the same old poster art/anime screencap plastered onto a card with some random unrelated text printed on it.
What is even going on when you play a game of say, WS anyway? Do you actually summon waifus to fight against things like Eva units? What about when multiple copies of the same characters are on board? Do you summon clones of them?
This is why I play Vanguard, I guess. Despite its simplicity (durr hurr big numbers good), it uses original art with variety of themes (dragons and knights for 10 year olds, qt mermaids/shrine maidens for waifufags) and the game itself have some flavor
>I can tell you that WS isn't near as shit as Yu-Gi-Oh
you're probably shit at yugioh
Any cool decks?
Judging by the game's terminology (stages, characters at different parts of their stories, events, climaxes, waiting rooms, memories), you're retelling the stories to each other. The cuteness (Weiss) or coolness (Schwarz) of each character is supposed to directly tug at the other player's heartstrings, which is why each character deals "soul" damage.
I guess characters getting sent to the waiting room is the result of powerlevel/best girl arguments that the two players have.
Anyway, if you want gameplay favor that makes sense, you play Magic.
I always wonder how the fuck people play that. It's just an illustration with numbers on it. This should be objectively worse than Yugioh.
>It's just an illustration with numbers on it.
Only as much as Yugioh is.
Yeah, well I have a signed Miyu.
Kancolle set in english when?
I have 2 signs. Can't wait for the Kantai Collection set.
I just looked up the card list. Do not want to play because so little selection.
magic better than any tcg you faggot
Plus expensive as fuck.
why foiled card always bend? Fuck this.
How I wish I had somebody to play card games with.
I went down to my local store once, but everyone there creeped me the fuck out by just going COMPLETELY SILENT when I entered the store and staring at me. I have no idea why because I'm incredibly average looking in every single way, but it completely put me off the idea of trying again.
Foil cards in magic used to do the same thing until they changed how they printed the foils. Just put the card under a heavy book.
What do you play anon, in Yugioh, I mean.
Stop being a bitch, anon. It's normal for them to look at you if you're a newfag. Just go in there and play, they're here with the same motives anyway. What will probably happen is, once you get to know them, you'll realize how autistic they are and just feel better about yourself.
>you're retelling the stories to each other. The cuteness (Weiss) or coolness (Schwarz) of each character is supposed to directly tug at the other player's heartstrings, which is why each character deals "soul" damage.
>I guess characters getting sent to the waiting room is the result of powerlevel/best girl arguments that the two players have.
Jesus, this is fucking incredible. Time to build one last YGO deck, then move on to this.
Anyone want to play Nisio's card game?
>When this card is placed on the field, all cards in play or in the hand for all players are instantly destroyed.
>Nisio's card game
Tell me more.
Just waiting for ny symphogear deck to come in
It's fine if it's just one. I have a whole deck of it.
Probably need to do it frequently.
Buy hard oversleeves, it helps somewhat.
I really wish I got the signatured Emon card as well
Actually, has anyone played the PSP Monogatari game?
I have no idea how the fuck that thing works
>Take art style
What is this wonderful madness?
Animu card games? Fuckin' turbo-nerds
I'm massively jealous
