Kill la kill DIDN'T save anime.
Yes it did.
No one cares about your opinion OP.
at least saved recap episode though...
What did you all expect? Ironic fanservice to be deep and symbolic? No, KLK is driving anime down the shithole.
>It's not moeshit
ANIME IS SAVED
Fortunately Sakura Trick did
I feel pretty saved.
So what's our next hope now that KLK has failed to save anything?
"Saving anime" is just a joke that retards take seriously. Nothing will save anime. It can be debated whether or not anime even needs saving to begin with.
KLK left a mark, though, and Trigger will hopefully come with more cool shows in the future.
Keanu Reeves will save anime
Yamakan already did it
neither did SnK but we still have autists talking about that shit
are you anme? if not then fuck of
Your mom's pussy is a joke
technically neither "saved anime" by themselves but they do contribute, alongside other shows (space brothers, space dandy and so on)
The important part is how the infamous "moeshit" side of anime is slowly losing territory.
Yozakura Quartet is better in every single way yet people ignore it because it's not made by trigger.
>how the infamous "moeshit" side of anime is slowly losing territory.
Like how NNB sold more than it?
Healing SoL =/= moeshit
>The important part is how the infamous "moeshit" side of anime is slowly losing territory.
it's still a transitioning process
of course I don't want my SoL and harem anime to completely die either, that would equally bad. I just want the diversity of the early 2000s back
I like HxH and Jojos more.
He is just trolling i think. Saying moeshit is considered shitposting.
that's actually a rather old thing, from around the time ES actually aired in Japan.
Anime was saved but Kill la Kill unsaved it
Since its not moe shit its at least a breast of fresh air. But since it is mostly fan service it still attracts the otaku guys. Anime as a whole is apparently in a really bad way
I still enjoy KLK
The only thing it saved was the budget.
>breast of fresh air
>KLK left a mark
It will be forgotten, just how any other shounen show will be.
Kantau Collection, now that shit will save fucking everything.
Damn, nigga, it has 18k pictures on pixiv, god fucking damn.
Kantai Collection is ultimately a browsergame that people will grow bored of someday.
It's interesting how popular it became in such a short time, but I can't see it reaching the levels of 2hu and staying there for over a decade. I could be wrong, of course. Maybe the anime will bring it another big boost in popularity.
Fleet Collection is hardly even good, how can the nips love it so much? The anime is also gonna be crap, and people are going to claim ships as their waifus or something.
SAO saved anime then KLK reversed the savings
But anona, studios are facilities, where budget is transformed into anime. Budget=unprocessed anime, which means Trigger managed to save quite a lot of it.
From the very second the name "Kill la Kill" was uttered, it began the difficult journey to save anime. But after anime had truly been saved by the airing of the first episode, many forgot what Kill la Kill had done for them and don't appreciate the hero of anime.
>that people will grow bored of someday.
Don't misunderstand japs and their waifu love.
Fucking mystery I tell you. But I guess Touhou is for witch/monster girl/whatever loving otakus and KanColle is for the Mecha Musume Crowd. And that crowd is fucking huge.
The only thing that Kill La Kill saved is Trigger's budget.
does my pun not entertain?!
KanColle still has a lot of catching up to do to 2hu though.
Touhou still had twice as many circles as KanColle at C85 and it has been that popular for 10 years. It will be interesting to see if the KanColle devs manage to keep the game fresh and interesting with new updates for such a long time.
>But I guess Touhou is for witch/monster girl/whatever loving otakus
I never really realized, but I guess Touhou is indeed technically full of monster girls. They look really human compared to most other monster girls though.
its just the most exciting show in a time of boring shows
I guess I should pick Build Fighters back.
Touhou is very light MG, same as KanColle is very light Mecha Musume (most of art looks like ordinary girls with guns strapped to their waist).
Those franchises are for casuals who cant handle real shit
from what I've seen they do have some really good combat scenes
Yes, it did. Obviously not a big one, but it will be remembered by many as a colorful and exciting anime original.
>It will be forgotten, just how any other shounen show will be.
What are you talking about? Many of the great classics are shonen.
>Kantau Collection, now that shit will save fucking everything.
What do you mean by "save"? It probably save the wallets of its creators, but it remains to be seen whether it ends up genuinely good or ends up being a boring cash cow like Infinite Stratos.
>Damn, nigga, it has 18k pictures on pixiv, god fucking damn.
How is that related to the quality of the upcoming adaptation?
I don't know or care,OP, but I think anime pretty much saved until the next show to come.
And is not moeshit, which is all right in the world.
I'll remain skeptical.
>but it will be remembered by many as a colorful and exciting anime original
Just like Gurren-Lagann, right?
>Many of the great classics are shonen.
Yes, and? KlK will not become a classic, that's for sure.
>It probably save the wallets of its creators
The only thing that matters. If KlK is not gonna be a smashing success Trigger will follow Gainax's path. The path of pandering. Although KlK is pretty much otaku pandering too, oh well.
>How is that related to the quality of the upcoming adaptation?
Quality, lol. It's all about the popularity, nigga, if shit is popular, shit sells well, shit sells well, other will copy that shit. And so on.
You said that all shonen becomes forgotten, which is a blatant lie.
>KlK will not become a classic, that's for sure.
I never came with such a bold statement.
>The only thing that matters.
If sales is your definition of anime saving, sure.
>It's all about the popularity, nigga, if shit is popular, shit sells well, shit sells well, other will copy that shit.
But we aren't talking about popularity and sales. I certainly agree that the KanColle adaptation will probably outsell most other shows, but that's not the point. You're talking about this as if it was solely a matter of sales and Pixiv submissions. When people talk about saving anime, they talk about unique and interesting material that leaves a lasting mark in history while surpassing many boundaries. NGE, for example, didn't become the monster that it is because of many sales. NGE got many sales because it was a monster to begin with.
I think it saved it a little bit for me. I haven't watched any anime until KLK came on since Nichijou ended.
Only a new Gintama season will save anime now (as they always done in the last 3-4 years)
Didn't save it for me but I realized not everything needs AMAZING art or animation to be a decent show.
KLK budget looks pretty small but the story is fucking great so far.
To clarify: "Saving anime" isn't the result of popularity and sales. It's rather the other way around (a show obviously doesn't necessarily have to "save anime" to gain popularity and sales, though. Pandering to otaku and having popular source material can add popularity and sales on its own, as isn't far-fetched to expect of the upcoming KanColle adaptation). We can't tell whether the KanColle adaptation will "save anime" or not just because the source material has secured a huge amount of buyers.
A Touhou Project anime adaptation, for example, would probably sell a morbid amount of discs. Irrespective of its ability to stand on its own legs.
So all we need is an anime that doesn't have fanservice, isn't moeshit and that will have a great amount of viewers.
Really the only thing that is keeping a lot of anime alive right now is the amount of fanservice that we see. The bad part is why fix what isn't broken if it makes money it makes money and so the industry is just as broken as the video game industry
OP DIDNT show he is a good person
Space Dandy succeeded where Kill la Kill failed.
Space Dandy is saving anime.
edge la edge came late to the party, Attack on Titan already saved the industry months ago.
I know this isn't /v/, but how is the video game industry broken?
Yes it did.
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm an omni-dimensional traveler and I just got back from a dimension almost exactly like this one, with the one exception that Kill la Kill didn't get released in that dimension.
All anime ceased to be one week later. And I don't just mean they stopped making it. It all ceased to be, period. All anime was destroyed, Otaku were hunted down and murdered in the street. America even nuked Japan again just to make sure. Then World War 3 started and everyone died.
So really Kill la Kill saved everything, not just anime. Try to be a little more grateful.
It is certainly not very reliable in the same sense that the industry will not pander to the small fans. Hence the watered down games analogous to watered down anime. Yet we still are willing to pay top dollar for bottom shelf quality. How is it not broken?
>All anime was destroyed
Was it like a book burning in the Third Reich?
>Talking shit about the best anime of the last 10 years
I bet you don't even like Satsuki-sama and Nonon
Not mentioning best character
