At what exact point did you drop Coppelion?
I didn't drop it.
>your five when facehead
The second episode. The entire thing seemed like a steaming pile of shit
Episode 3. Loved the first episode, second episode was still kind of pretty but the sudden breakdown and screaming of her motivations from the main character was horrible, and the third episode was dull, and that's when I heard it only got worse from there so I was like "yeah, nah."
It didn't really get better. Apparently a Jeep can outrun a B2 Stealth Bomber and and our three super useful heroines cry too much. Ozu sisters were pretty good though.
when I learned it will be done by GO HANDS
Either episode 2 or 3 with the kid whose mother was holding her hostage.
The main characters were all retarded and melodramatic as fuck. It was a bad sign.
Like around episode 10. I just couldn't stomach it anymore.
Episode 3. It was originally only on hold, but I doubt I'll have the time to finish it.
Is it wrong that I actually felt sorry for the kid? I don't think that episode had any relation to the plot though. I only watched the anime for Ibuki anyway.
About the same for me. I just got bored with it, really.
when the helicopters showed up
Very rare I do this but I actually dropped it two episodes before the end, not sure why I even stuck with it so long, maybe the animation.
In the middle of the first episode.
I wanted to like it so bad that I didn't, the only good thing was the Yui Horie character.
Fourth episode or whatever when they evacuated people from the area around the pool and the one leader girl just cried for, like, five minutes for no goddamn reason. Got so sick of that shit.
i didnt drop it but i did start drinking heavily while i watched it after episode 2
best unintentional comedy and suffering
I watched the whole thing.
And? How'd you like/hate it?
I actually finished it because I wasn't following that many shows in the fall. Could have better spent that time in retrospect.
I thought it was OK. Not amazing, but not terrible either.
Ep 6. I just couldn't take that shit. Mc is left behind to fight enemies while the rest of the crew escapes in a car, and then after driving AWAY for a while they witness mc getting caught in an explosion.
DID THEY DRIVE IN CIRCLES OR FUCKING WHAT
That's where I dropped it, when they succesfully fought a B2 bomber with a jeep.
Really fucking pissed about it too, I loved the setting and the art and I'm willing to put up with some shit. But it's like there was one fucking terrible scenario writer who's so bad that he ruined everything.
It was actually the second episode. The tears and shit were all ready starting to grate on me about half way through the episode. Then the senpai who they had been sort of portrayed as a sort of strong individual broke down in tears at nothing. After that it was just more and more crying. I was just done.
Episode 2. Then picked it back for the twins.
I didn't drop it. Easily the second best backgrounds last season.
I dropped it as soon as I saw GoHands in the credits.
i read the first chapter of the manga and dropped it. Then scanned around in the later chapters and saw a stealth bomber strafing a jeep with machine guns 10 meters off the ground and i wished i could have dropped it even harder.
Wow you guys are really hung up on that stealth bomber and jeep.
After finishing the first episode
I wanted it to be good so badly but in the end I knew it was just going to get worse, so I nipped it in the bud and decided not to waste my time
That's cause they went full retard. You never go full retard.
After episode 3. I gave it the old 3 episode rule, it didn't seem to be going anywhere interesting, so I dropped it. Nothing to it, really.
Western TV shows and films have gotten away with worse.
Watched the whole thing and just laughed at every stupid part
Finished it. Wish I hadn't.
8 or 9
if they skipped s1 all together and animated the second half of the manga, it would've been a hit.
>Beautiful, gene-engineered schoolgirls comes almost naked in Tokyo after the bomb to spread... what? The love?
If you watched that after having read the summary, you have objectively shit tastes.
>B-but who are you trying to impress you fedora?
Not wanting to watch shitty shows is not being a hipster, you dumbasses. Wanting to watch a shitty show is only a proof of your profound stupidity.
I think they could have fixed the way some things were presented and it would have changed initial impressions a lot.
There was some weird shit going on with the adaption of this series.
I never dropped it, she reminded me of Shino and it kept me going.
Gotten away nothing. They show that kind of retardedness in TV shows, I'll dropped them hard too.
They dumbed it down a lot.
AOI CAN'T WALK ANYMORE
I watched it for forehead and wasn't disappointed.
>no stupid sex jokes
>immune to radiation
>can use guns
Way better than Shino.
These look like fucking shoops.
Thank god I dropped it after that awful radioactive drum water treatment facility episode.
I wasn't particularly active last season, but wasn't this just another SnK?
I liked it; I mean, really liked. Not exactly "loved" it, but just really liked it.
I have a soft spot for existentialism and stuff of the kind. Also for post-apocalyptic environments.
I don't think it had anything to do with fighting games.
After 20 seconds
>Heroine walks slowly
>Her friends come panting and sweaty 'You're too fast!'
Are you claiming that those of us who dropped copellion due to the stupid shit, don't drop western stuff for the same stupid shit?
>srs bsns rescue operation
STAGE ONE: B2 BOMBER
I can't possibly imagine why anyone would feel misled by the first few episodes.
Didn't the OP with a rocket launcher, jeep, gianto-spider, and superpowered-girls-brawling-on-top-of-building give it away?
Didn't drop it and I can honestly say I enjoyed it. That said, first half was really weak and the B2 was the dumbest god damn thing I saw last year. For me, the show picked up when Haruto appeared and then everything with the Ozu sisters was gold. Also had some great backgrounds and I really love big thick outlines and shit like that. Overall it was a solid series, but not really something I'll archive and watch again.
What was so bad about the B2 anyway?
I didn't drop it; it sucked but was entertaining enough.
When Kana Hanazawa speak with the same range again.
Because it is a real plane it apparently had to behave super realistically, regardless of the rest of the series. They should have made it a giant robot bird or something.
Honestly, this is exactly my problem. It is a real plane so it should act like its counterpart. I would have been much happier if they just invented some bullshit plane. I fucking loved the spider despite it being dumb as shit.
I never saw the problem. Cells and GM are real things but that didn't make their magic GM anti-radiation cells less retarded.
The whole series was full of real things that worked unrealistically.
Has radiation ever been portrayed realistically and accurately in any media whatsoever? We all already know that directors and writers refuse to do the simplest of researches, and to be honest, that is beneficial in a lot of ways.
And... well, "Science Fiction", does that ring a bell?
Episode 5 I think. When there were stealth bombers chasing jeeps and shit.
Everyone in-universe seemed to think it was a giant bird though
I'm not complaining or saying it has to be realistic. Just that having a sperg over one specific thing being unrealistic in a series based on unrealistic concepts is stupid.
>Cells and GM
Are very generic concepts that can mean anything depending on how far in the future we are or how great scientic innovations will be made.
B2 is not. It referes to a specific model, the abilities of which should be generally known.
And yes, it was also very retarded that throughout coppelion armed soldiers with assault rifles could not hit a broad side of a barn and were utterly useless in any combat situation.
>the abilities of which should be generally known.
They only seem like generic concepts because you don't understand them. There are finite limits to what these things can achieve.
And if you're happy to write of one lot of unrealistic crap as a product of the future, then why not changes to the bomber? There is nothing to say it's the same as a current model.
In other words, it's a plane made of thick-plotanium, using plot-device technology
When I was watching that part, I was certain that what you guys would complain here would be something uncanny and unrealistic in the yellow cake disposal part; that it's not possible to this and that and radiation this and that; I honestly didn't expect that the bomber would be such a letdown for you guys, especially considering there is a GIRL that completely defies the logic of electric flow.
By a special military task force.
I guess it just goes to show how /k/ wannabe faggots were watching the show. We get a lot of retards complaining about guns and planes but not much else.
Very few people seemed bothered by any of the radiation stuff despite it easily being the most questionable part of the series, if you were so inclined.
I just found it funny how a Luger shoots grenades and the grenade launcher shoots bullets
Episode 1 at "I shot it with a tranquilizer."
It can be used to shoot from tranquilizers, grenades to land mines.
I didn't, but it's too bad that translators will probably never catch up and/or finish the manga
OP/ED were pretty good though
The OP was good, but I'm not really fond of the recitative part in the ED
In fact, I think I despise it.
I didn't even make it 10 minutes into the first episode. The fact that they were doing these missions in their school uniforms was more than enough reason to drop it.
I only have to finish the last episode,but...damn
Go for it already, report back in 30 minutes with a review, that's your homework
We need to actually discuss content of this show instead of just "Muh B2"
If you expected STALKER of anime you lose.
If you were trying to take Coppelion seriously you also lose.
I kind of wish someone would re-write the whole thing from the start and take out Sparky and that other slut, and change the focus a bit. It could be great, but it just isn't, for so many reasons.
True enough. Full OP is better and a lot catchier than the full ED. I'll probably pick up Sidonia since angela is doing one of them for it
The problem is that it rises expectations of fate-of-the-world issues, when they don't even get near the power plant
More like: If you expected something good you lose.
I expected both, and I regret nothing
He's still alive, according to a more recent chapter title. But there's like 80 untranslated chapters so I haven't bothered reading it yet.
well, he's supposed to be able to endure the radioactive wind after all; the only issue were his woulds
But I think that the wind cloud confirms death of Mr. White Officer
I completely forgot about it when the crazy sisters appeared.
Anyway, SYD subs when?
>implying I would abandon my girl
It's as if you're some kind of fag.
I never dropped it. The 2nd episode was rough, but I loved it more and more afterwards. Coppelion was honestly one of my most favorite shows of that season. When I think of Fall '13, out of all the shows I watched, Coppelion is the first to come to mind.
Still mad that there's no OST release date.
Have we any confirmations on OVAs?
This show asks for an epilogue-like episode, not to mention the new relationship with the sisters
You tell me.
when I realized they weren't going to show that haruto is still alive
This. I got suckered into downloading the first 3 eps being told it was "S.T.A.L.K.E.R with highschool girls". I was not quite told it was 95% highschool girls with a half-assed apocalyptic excuse plot, the disappointment was palpable.
I didn't drop it. In fact, I'm currently reading the manga.
Don't get me wrong, the show is shit, and the writing is absolutely atrocious. I enjoy it for some reason, though
>Don't get me wrong, the show is shit, and the writing is absolutely atrocious. I enjoy it for some reason, though
so like K
Big disappointment, shit pacing. But nothing as awful as some said.
I like the manga, even if almost all the scientific part doesn't make sense. It's just that big, dumb fun, schoolgirls against giant robots etc.
Also, the Ozu sisters are love.
You know, it saddens me to see a series I liked so much be panned so hard. I've read some reviews, and the points brought out make sense, I can even agree with most of them; even so I still like it.
Oh well, an animated series that didn't sell and won't get more stuff, and a manga that won't be translated; this wraps up Coppelion.
Shortly after the stealth bomber/truck chase.
I only finished it for Aoi
Aoi was pretty lovable
Second. Didn't see any thing of worth.
AOI THE CUTIE PIE 4 LYF
Never, I liked it.
Episode 4, too much crying, did it get better?
The teleportation in episode 2 almost made me drop it earlier.
Episode 10, because I forgot to download it.
