/a/'s opinion of Space Dandy 5 eps in?
Good one-off episodes, especially the last two. Animation is middling yet passable. Needs another regular character or better interaction between the current three.
I like it a lot, its fun.
I'm wondering about the setting though, are the humans in Space Dandy the ruling species or something? I just ask because Dandy orders "1 human adult and 1 alien child" as if there are human tickets and then tickets for everyone else
Dropped at episode 3. I didn't find it very interesting. Animation was dandy, though.
Also latest episode is great. Dandys heart is warmed
The animation/artwork is good, but other than episode 2 and 5 I haven't really enjoyed it too much.
It's okay. I'm just praying that there's some way that every episode is going to tie together. Otherwise I would say my time invested wasn't really worth it.
Considering the nature of the anime I wouldn't look into it too much
Seriously, you didn't enjoy episode 4?
The most recent episode is the only one I've enjoyed.
I liked every episode so far
love it, cant wait for more.
I've only seen 4. Still waiting on commie.
Regardless, I think it's pretty good. Not my favorite of the season, but it's up there.
A lot of the setting barely makes sense though. Like why was the little girl so desperate about not getting registered? Aren't they just going to scan her and let her go? It's not like Dandy is going around deporting aliens into zoos and labor camps.
>A lot of the setting barely makes sense though.
The guys name is literally "Space Dandy". That and the themes and visuals, what the fuck did you expect? Asimov?
BRING OUT HONEY
BRING OUT HONEY
BRING OUT HONEY
BRING OUT HONEY
Humans are frightening. Lost limb? Able to stay conscious to bandage the stump, and the wound heals within weeks. Endurance? So high we hunt by following things until they die. Senses? Can use sound to find direction within two degrees, and sight is better than that. Humans became the apex predator on a world where the most common substance is a solvent with acidic properties. Don't fuck with humans.
Didn't she say something about people wanting to exploit the mind-swap trick for sinister purposes?
And the registry pays for new or rare aliens: species that aren't well understood. So it could be that they do all sorts of terrible things to get an idea of how such creatures function.
Adult Swim: The Anime. Why are they bothering to go to Funi for the dub? They should just leave it to AS.
There are so many species that have all of those features.
The only thing that sets humans apart is their intelligence and musculoskeletal structure.
That said, almost all of our features exist to supplement intelligence, so we've really got that going for us.
Dandy is going to wreck that pussy
It's not as bad as it could be, but jesus.
It's okay, one of the few shows where I forgot to watch an episode.
Come on, I like it as much as everybody else, but there is really no reason to open thread over thread about it.
/tg/ called, they said don't come back.
The only way they can do that is through some stupid Bioshock Infinite 2deep4u multiverse asspull
It's getting better with each episode.
The dandy Dandy could've been.
Why do people put up with such horrible things?
4 = 5 > 3 > 2 >>> 1
Next time I'll post the picture with my post, that'll be the fuckin' day!
5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
My nigga, This.
I JUSRT WANT THE MUSIC.
I missed the prior threads. Any worthwhile gifs?
Yoroshiku. Watashi wa Itariago desu.
I fucking loved the noodles episode.
The others were meh but enjoyable.
Its so relaxing.
Might go up
Will probably go down
If it somehow manages to actually go up, then it's bound to become a timeless masterpiece
I liked the little alien's voice.
>that loli voice
How can dubfags put up with this? Do they actually enjoy eating shit?
This. The only one series that gets better with each new episode.
Started off rocky but it's been getting a little better with each episode so far, and the next one looks good. So who knows, by the end we might even get a few genuine classics.
Honestly even if it sucked I'd still tune in for it, just on precedent of A) the creative team, and B) the fact that I'd love to see more Toonami simulcast shows in the future.
>If it somehow manages to actually go up, then it's bound to become a timeless masterpiece
Fuck no, it's barely above average at this point.
You can find shit of this quality on any other weekly cartoon.
Fifth episode has been the only good one.
And it's the only one that had a coherent and well-written plot. Funny how when they aren't writing them doing stupid shit for the sake of it they actually make something worthwhile.
> Carey Means as Dandy
> Dana Snyder as Meow
you're a fool. because the amount of money i want to offer for this to happen does not exist in this universe
Too bad 6 is going to be a combo breaker.
What are you talking about? She sounds all rigth and it's even similar to the Eleven's one.
Like they did in Galaxy Angels?
>Mah mother tongue burns muh ears!
Really? What pansies you are!
But what else can I be elitist about?
I got called a superfuckingcasual (all one word apparently) for liking this. Mind you that was in Doki's chatbox, and that ranks only slightly higher than Horriblesubs comments when it comes to talking on the internet.
The soundtrack really shone through this episode. I'm excited for it's release.
You know what I love about this show most of all?
It's actually excited about Space.
Every other medium we've got is landlocked and hotglued to the Earth. Even with our big name sci-fi films of recent note have been small in scale and treat the cosmos as trivial window dressing. Regard the recent Star Trek films that are devoid of eagerness and discovery or the Gundam franchise that just uses space as a way for petty human conflicts to play out in three-dimensional battlegrounds. It's become more of a stock trope for cheap plots instead of a font of possibilities. I don't know when we became disenchanted with the stars, but it seems to have hit the creative industries pretty hard if this trend is of any indication.
Perhaps most insultingly of all is the vogue of reality warpers and galactic deities that manipulate the universe to show how powerful they are; So you show us that they can toss a box around. Okay, but what's in the box? Are we going to explore any of that? No? Well, fine then.
In Space Dandy, the viewer keeps travelling to new worlds that are chock full of new aliens and cultures. It's this immense, extraterrestrial blend that feels familiar, but has enough uniqueness to make if feel fresh, a trait helped by the fact that not a lot of parties are doing stuff like this anymore.
Far from the claustrophobic, all-encompassing constraints of high-schools, cities, or planet Earth itself, Space Dandy flies high, fast, and free. You can partake in that spirit if you like; just tune in and feel the gravity on your mind fall away.
Is it wrong to feel attracted to Milfy? She so innocent.
One of the season's highlights. Funny, easy-going, camp, colourful, retro.
I think it suffers the same thing as KLK, in that it lacks a direction it wants to go. We're kind of just sort of loitering instead of walking.
it's saving anime better than klk
Really enjoyed it, especially the song midway throuh
It wants to be fun and it succeeds. Just like KLK. Sorry you're too clinically assburgic to enjoy anything.
Pedophile pandering with an unnecessary episode.
I agree, I feel the same way
If this isn't a copypasta, then I applaud you for making such an eloquent point.
dump as many reaction images of Dandy as you possibly can
They showed it happening in the first episode.
Damn, maybe I do need to watch this
This exactly what I feel is missing from all modern sci-fi
>Not liking her dub voice
Episode 5 made me feel all fuzzy on the inside. Fuck it was cute. I've been quietly appreciating Dandy for what it is so far, but this episode was done pretty damn well despite all the obvious cliches.
Getting better with every episode. Was really disappointed with it at the start, and its its pretty bad for a Shinchiro work, but it has gotten better. It's turning around bit by bit. But he's got a way to go before it's redeemed. 6/10 so far up from like a 5/10
I'm greatly into science fiction and from the series description I thought I would really be enjoying it but it's rubbed me the wrong way pretty consistently. It's pretty much entirely style over substance and none of the characters are that likeable. A parade of cardboard cut outs whizzing by at breakneck speed with nothing really anchoring it. Fuck, I like the robot more than any of the other characters.
That peach juice drink is an actual drink, and it's really good. I buy a pack every other week from this asian market near me.
Oh man, I can't wait for the OST to come out. If a lossless version isn't leaked before it's released, I'll rip it personally for you guys.
anime status [x]saved
Speaking of shinchiro, is kids on the slope any good?
Do you mean to say Space Dandy has lost it's way?
The difference is that this anime doesn't have an overarching plot. It's just a dandy guy in space having wacky space adventures with his robot vacuum cleaner and a freeloading cat.
ryuko's neck should be coming out of senketsu's eye
Would ask Honey out on a date outside of work.
why do I think Beevis and Butthead when I see this picture
First episode sucked but it's been great since.
Episode 4 is my favorite out of the "comedy" episodes
Episode 5 is the only "drama" episode so far, let's see how tragic they can make Dandy's backstory.
Oh man I love people who just criticize dandy on its lack of plot and continuity and then go discuss moe slice of life with the other plebs. It's good.
We already had that' it's called Inferno Cop
