What's /a/'s verdict on this one?
I want to fuck the blonde milf, goddamn that thick body.
I really hope it will make up for Mahou Sensei Negima.
The author was fed up with doing harems after Love Hina, so Ken Akamatsu wanted to do a shonen (to which the higher ups said nah, do another harem).
Negima was supposed to be a crypto-shonen disguised as a harem, yet the ending was...LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT IT.
I really hope that UQ Holder will make it up, though how will Akamatsu pull it off? Dunno, we have to look into it while time passes.
well there are "only" 2 potential members for the harem yet
>so Ken Akamatsu wanted to do a shonen
Love Hina was a Shounen, too
>implying /a/ has a consensus on anything
I like it.
Negima's ending makes sense when you learn of the publishers copyright grab.
Battle shounen then.
The blonde has a 10 year old boy but is using a age pill. And she's over 600 years old
The blonde has a 10 year old body but is using a age pill. And she's over 600 years old
she also has a 14 year old boy with a 12 year old body now
So far I really like it, but the way things are going, it looks like it's about to become another Gary Stu fest
>an adventure is essential for man's growth
Have you grown /a/?
>still mad that a decendent of Negi has Magia Erebea, despite Chao having it
neither Touta nor Chao had Magia Erebea
The blind guy seems to think Touta does.
The MC feels uninspiring and shallow, the setting isn't interesting because the magic world was better, the characters are archetipical and lack personality, the story doesn't propose anything interesting and engaging yet, it's pretty bland.
Kuroumaru is best boy and best girl
So its just like the first half of Negima
>the setting isn't interesting because the magic world was better
the setting is less detailed because it did not appear tens of dozens of chapters into the story
On its own, its meh.
As a sequel to Negima, its basically the only reason I am continuing reading.
Kuromaru is my friendu
Maybe they can explain all the missing Negi adventures in some flashbacks
I loved Negima (- the shitty ending)
and I was pretty hyped for this but I kinda lost interest after a few chapters.
It's picking up and I have high hopes.
Negima took time to build up. Those are all legitimate complaints yet a bad reason to drop this if you liked negima.
the biggest problem was that this is a sequel. If it was just it's own unrelated thing in a new setting people would've been more okay with it. But as it is, people will constantly be complaining about how things don't match up with the original Negima, chiefly among them how Eva looks and acts totally different.
I find it pretty disappointing.
The MC is a really odd mixed bag, I don't know what to think of him anymore.
He had dreams and aspirations that were quickly dashed. He has power and strength but he doesn't really care about fighting. He wants to reach the top but seems pretty content and doesn't actually have a plan for anything afterwards. He has a strong lineage apparently/possibly inherited Magia Erebea like Chao possibly did.
As a sequel, also pretty underwhelming. The end of negima surely did leave a lot of unanswered questions but it also left a bad taste I'd say they both carried over.
I really find the writing in this one weird. Chapters don't feel like they end on a strong note/cliff hanger anymore.
20+ sum chapters in and I am definitely not hooked.
Sausage fest. Waiting on the other immortals to show up before I bother reading seriously.
Honestly, it's boring so far. If it wasn't Negima 2 I would have dropped it by chapter 3.
It's better than th beginning of Negima at least so I have good hopes. Ken always need some time.
Essentially this. I didn't expect the beginning to be amazing so I'll just idly read it until it gets good. I like his sword and hope ken does something interesting with it. Also things may or may not be about to pick up so we'll see.
It's boring as fuck, the MC Gary Stu levels are off the charts as well
The difference is that I was reading negima because it was a fun harem and the girls were cute, the change of tone felt weird at first but it became an interesting battle shonen and the change of setting with the magic world was interesting (at least until the last volumes when the manga went full retarded)
UQ holder start as a battle shonen from the beginning and it feels so uninspiring and dull, it isn't trying to show interesting characters or setting, it is telling a bland story that goes nowhere.
Why does ponytail have to choose between loving as a woman or fighting as a man?
Why not becoming a strong female fighter? It's not like real life where men are strong. The strongest person so far is a blond fair female.
Maybe Karin just thinks it would be a waste for such a cute potential girl
She could follow Karin's example and become a cute but strong female like her really.
>It's better than th beginning of Negima at least so I have good hopes.
No, you are forgetting that negima was a comedy harem that was turned into a battle shonen midway, uq holder started as a battle shonen from day 1, you can't compare.
Any new series have to start with something good to offer and uq holder didn't do it yet, other series had a good start story telling wise and were axed or rebooted in a different magazine because people ignored them for not having a mangaka with a big name, this manga isn't getting axed because of Akamatsu name but it totally deserve to bomb.
It is bullshit so "it" chooses to be a man later on and we get all mad, then they can use it as excuse.
The truth is, Ken wanted to do a shota yaoi bait.
Haven't picked this up, why doesn't eva look like eva?
>turned into a battle shonen midway
Since when was the Kyoto arc midway.
Even earlier, it turned battle shounen on Eva arc, on volume 3, only the first 2 volumes were harem comedy
Because disguise and Eva doesnt like being a loli, she has appeared in her loli form but is in milf form most of the time.
It's...weird. It's trying to fit in so much random things into one piece just like Negima. I read it for action but the story is weird.
Looks like he finally gave the plothook for why the main characters going to train to be a fighter. Them damn dirty rich people in the tower gonna get wrecked.
