Wide on't we have a hidamari thread?
Haven't seen a hidamari thread in nearly 24 hours, and that's terrible.
Let's kick it off with a question:
>How old is yoshinoya-sensei, really?
>Haven't seen a hidamari thread in nearly 24 hours, and that's terrible.
There are no new chapters out nor new season info, what's your excuse to make a thread if it's not to circlejerk?
>>How old is yoshinoya-sensei, really?
That's not a question you should be asking.
>nearly 24 hours
It hasn't even been that long. I'm not complaining.
This blew my mind the other day.
>How old is yoshinoya-sensei, really?
But you can't be a teacher that young, you need to have at least completed university.
>there will never be a classical-era Hidamari spinoff about cute Athenian girls philosophizing cute things
But it's not really pronounced the same, unless I'm missing something.
Is this show worth watching? Sell me on it, /a/.
A-Anon, what are you doing here?
I had a blowjob once, it was fucking painful. Never again.
You'll like this if you like cute and/or relaxed shows. It's my favourite anime.
If I liked Non Non Biyori and Yuyushiki I probably like this one?
You're going to love it then.
Oh okay. Thanks for the heads up.
Yes. I like both those shows but Hidamari is on another level.
>get into work
>see new Hidamari thread
Always makes my day a little better /X^_^X\
You look hungry miya
I think I'd rather give one, rather than receive one.
That will never be alright.
>You will never feed miya tomatoes
I have always wondered, what if all wide threads were to scroll from side to side rather than the typical up and down?
Make it happen, moot.
So wide threads can be invaded by idiots trying to get horizontal dubs or some stupid shit like that?
That's the best damn idea I've seen in a long time.
Promote this man.
Where can I find the torrent of the manga?
I've looked high and low.
The scans on the websites are really low-q even for most manga.
Is this good enough? Don't remember where I got them, but I can throw them on mediafire for you.
I don't think there are any better scans than these.
Thats the quality I'm talkin' about.
>Don't remember where I got them, but I can throw them on mediafire for you.
That's for the offer, but I'm kinda looking for the source so I can read all the chapters.
I guess you could just buy them.
You know, we can make a script or something like that. I don't know much about scripting for web, but I think it can be done quite easily.
holy shit I didn't realize you could buy them in english
I know it a very petty thing, but I'm too embarrassed to buy manga at this point. Maybe when I get a little more into it i'll buy it.
What chapter are we up to anyway, I've read up to 104, not sure how many are left
I know enough about it to know that it's not for me. It may be simpler to do something more subtle. Like every post with "wide" in it gets a thumbnail twice as wide.
Don't be ashamed anon. Buying manga and laserdiscs isn't shameful.
but my collection of 3 figmas is
106 (2014-02) is the latest chapter.
>aaanooon, why do you keep receiving packages from china?
I'm not ready to run out.
I've been reading one chapter a night for the last 3 months.
THEY'RE FROM JAPAN MOM
I don't live with my parents any more.;_;
I was like that until just recently when I bought three volumes of this manga. It's worth it, trust me. If you order from online no one will know what's inside and you lie, etc. (or be a better person than me and tell the truth), and then open it when you're alone.
You know the localized versions give her virtually no money at all, right?
The merch can help though.
depends where he brought the merch.
>You know the localized versions give her virtually no money at all, right?
I'm not doubting you, but that's pretty sad. Why doesn't she get much money from it?
I can't read moon so what do you want me to do.
also if that's true that's fuckin bullshit. I want references
By the way, are there scans of the official English release available somewhere? While I plan to buy them eventually, I do like having a digital copy anyway. And, well, the old scanlations weren't exactly perfect.
Obviously every contract is different but the most typical is a flat fee for foreign licensing to the original publisher. Whether the publisher chooses to share that with the author is up to them, but usually they don't, as their contract only specifies a percentage of each copy sold domestically.
Buy it a stick it on a shelf. I don't know of any reputable references that would be in english.
The license holder (publisher in original country) lets other publisher lease the right to print (i.e localise) content for a set sum, of which the author gets a percentage of, which renews over time.
Unlike content sold in original country, the author does not get a sum for each sale (like few cent per 100 copies or something.)
Very little money from localized goods go back to Japan.
Its not "no" money, its works on license basis - the localisation company buys the right to translate it and sell it and they make the profit in their country.
The majority of money goes to the company not the Japanese publishers and thus not to the Author for Localized goods.
Well I guess that's true, but you're still buying it which means that you're supporting them, so they're inclined to keep doing it.
It still helps her out, even if she's not getting a percentage of what I buy.
If nobody buys it then she gets nothing, so I'm still helping.
Also here: http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/
I'd recommend this site for buying the manga, don't forget its called Sunshine Sketch not Hidamari Sketch in the English translated copy.
Isnt this show basically Madoka Magica but without the mahou shoujo, death, and thermodynamics? so basically typical moeshit
>£44.38 for 7 volumes
That's... surprisingly cheap. Might just bite. Free shipping is nice too.
Free delivery to australia?
Holy shit this is awesome
A-and free bookmarks.
B-But how is it packet? Will everyone at the post office see my power level?
UK packing is in a white jiffy bag, not sure about elsewhere.
Yeah it was where I got my hardcover copy of Uzumaki from, useful place
Yeah they're going to see that it's from a store called "Book Depository", so they probably guess it's a book. Also they send the volumes one by one so your postman will thank you if you buy them all at once.
A cold day for Hidamari.
My postman stood there pushing 7 volumes of Spice & Wolf and a few Yotsuba's through the letterbox.
It was cute.
My postman gave me one of those "your parcel was too big so fetch it from the post office" notes, when I went to get them I saw that he had tied them all together with rubber bands.
I didn't really blame him for doing that though.
Alright, sounds good. Will probably give it a shot.
>you will never be hugged by your best friend in space
>you will never have a best friend
We're your best friend, anon.
Will you hug me in space?
It is a good service but the packages take ages to arrive, one time it took about 1 month and the other time 7 weeks more or less. Maybe it does take long to arrive to my country because I'm not from europe.
Well, I live in Europe, and it usually takes 3 or 4 weeks... there were two times when it didn't arrive... at all. After two months, I sent them an e-mail, and they resent it to me, even though they didn't receive it back either, so that counts really in their favor.
If I ever see you there, of course. But, where does the earth end, and the space begin?
>But, where does the earth end, and the space begin?
You're in space once you can see how wide the earth is.
polandfag here, vol.2 can't come soon enough. i absolutely love this manga, maybe i'll try watching after this season ends, in "backlog" season
So what, i should come over her house, throw 10000$ through her window, walk in, feed her kids and dog, give her husband an job, bend over and let her violently rape me with a rusty metal strapon
will this be enough
Why are you throwing the money through the window if you're going to walk in immediately afterwards
I've seen you around a few times, and I'm curious. Where are you? I'm in Krakow right now, but I'm not from here, so I'm really lost with the language and other things.
Just give the traditional offering of a cute schoolgirl.
Aww thanks mang, its so much easier to read.
Fashionable Detective Lovely Chocolat's assistant.
Gotouza has japanese cold.
I suggest buying every Kirara-originated manga, or 4koma you find on bookdepository/amazon/whereever. They're underappreciated.
Fun fact: Aoki Ume hates Natsume.
I drew a picture of Yuno today that I was especially happy with so I thought I'd post it.
I think I'm improving a bit at drawing Yuno.
Is she surrendering?
Surrendering her heart to you.
Have printer, will print. Would have bought YKK if it was sold in a language I understood.
I ought to put Tetsunagi Kooni on paper.
Thanks for the post, this one's really cute.
It really does seem like you've improved. I would even say that you're adding more detail.
So I guess we can expect another Year Of Yuno then?
maybe some of us can try to do the same with other characters, that'd be fun
>have great idea for gif
>spend 2 hours editing
>looks like balls because 256 colors
I need to get YKK manga.
It doesn't look that bad anon. Do you have a version of the images that make up the gif without the compression?
I'm not sure why but I really like drawing white flags and the words "white flag". It doesn't really have any specific meaning.
Yeah, that would be fun. I'm definitely going to keep drawing Yuno and I'd love to do another year-end thread. It's a long way away, though, and I don't want to make promises.
Sorry, I didn't post the one that looked like shit. It was of the same scene but panned across and I managed to loop it.
I need to stay awake for the next 4h so I guess I'll make some more.
Is anyone going to import Ume's new manga and scan it? If the magazine isn't too heavy I might do it.
I am going to order it in, looking forward to seeing it.
Shame Mado no Mukougawa has seemly stopped with Carino.
What if Norippe was a chuuni?
I get the feeling that Sae was a chuuni.
Of course she was.
You should be fine, I ordered all 7 volumes seprately over a period of time and every package was just blank white with my address on it.
How cute would it be when you mention it and she gets all embarrassed?
No, but they were released for Kindle. They might only be available for US region Kindles, though.
Why have I never seen this posted before?
Are you Anons holding out on me?
I bought my mom a Kindle Paperwhite and she never even uses it.
Should I get her Hidamari?
My mom likes Hidamari. She says it's something she'd watch if it were on TV when she was younger.
Bookdepository uses SAL from Royal Mail. Shipping is slow as fuck but cheap.
What's the best way of doing this? She has never watched an anime or read a manga. Or even a comic, to my knowledge.
Mado No Mukougawa volume 6: 6 of 14 Pages scanned and uploaded.
Volume 3, 4 and 5 done.
Covers of 3 and 6 still to be done.
I should have it all done tomorrow.
Thanks for your hard work.
