What is the peak of Chinese cartoons? I know its not Cowboy Bebop, but what would you say does deserve that praise?
>>
>>101453364
Fuck off retard
>>
>>101454440
thats like saying there is a best novel or there is a best painting. assuming there is makes you a retard.
>>
>>101454481
It's in a higher tier than most anime. If you want to go full political correctness, it is highly regarded by a majority of people, not all of whom have only seen a small number of series.
I get your point but those morons don't know how to express themselves and we end up with people like OP, or worse: those who didn't even watch it parroting ye olde 'overrated shit'.
>>
I hate anyone who hates Cowboy Bebop.

Absolutely magnificent anime that.
>>
People don't hate Bebop

People hate people who treat it like Jesus Dalai Lama Christ

>/a/ only hates morons who have watched 20 shows and consider CB the peak of Chinese cartoons.

Pretty much this.

I personally like Bebop and it's one of my all-time favourite anime, but the problem is that it's the "firstmuhdeepanimu" for a lot of newfags and thus has just become a shitposting trigger on this board nowadays.
>>
I'm on episode 7 and honestly I don't see what all the hype is about. Seems like a show that doesn't have a strong plot at all, I feel like I can just watch any episode and it wouldn't matter because he just has a little adventure during one episode and that's the end of that.

>thats like saying there is a best novel

It's Dostoevsky's The Idiot. Is it objectively the most well crafted novel ever penned.

> or there is a best painting

The Garden of Eathly Delights - Hieronymus Bosch.

> the peak of chinese cartoons

It's either GitS or Akira, but it's a moot point since Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is the peak of animation en toto. It was almost the Thief and the Cobbler but that masterpiece was ruined by executive meddling.

The word you are looking for is episodic.
Yes bebop is episodic.
Just sit back and enjoy them one at a time.
>>
>>101453364
Because it's ridiculously overrated.
>>
>>101453364

It's westernized, and it's regarded as somewhat of a gateway anime. Not to say the gateway anime. Other than that it's a genuinely good show.

I dislike how a good two thirds are spent on the pointless pasts and misadventures of Jet, Faye and Edward. Jet and Edward are shallow as hell, Faye is annoying as hell. It bothered me how much they got in the way of the fantastic character of Spike, who only got focus either indirectly through Vicious, or when he's chilling or beating up punks trying to make some money. Then the lukewarm ending rolls around, and it's all about Spike for a retardfest of two episodes. Lukewarm because it is far worse than what I was initially led to expect. In his frankly annoying way of never letting go of the past, he goes to reconcile with his mob slut, she dies he dies Vicious dies. Cue its savior, Yoko Kanno.

I mention "pointless" a lot, not because I hate aspects of all anime that isn't deep, but because in the beginning it played itself like it was going to be a multi-layered marijuana trench. I can't explain it well, it just felt like that to me. How serious everything was in spite of the frequent silly shit. Then by the end, it's really only Spike that matters, and everyone else is there to fill the gaps and reinforce the theme of focusing on the past.

I still like it though, for the largest part because of the latter. Also because I really like Spike, though it's a shame he is, in my opinion, focused on far too little. He is, for me, probably the character that has made the biggest impression on me of any, and who I still think of the most.

Also >>101455576, but that's not my main reason.

Just my two cents.

/a/ has CB in many of its recomendation charts, of course if you are a regular /a/ lurker or poster you will know where to find them.

"Western Anime Fans" only like it because that was one of their first "cool" anime they watched on TV, for some reason they thought all anime must be as good as CB or the other dubbed anime they watched on TV, and then after watch other shows that were not so good, inmediately they thought CB was the only good anime ever, forgeting that in every medium only a small part of the produced works are actually "good", these later will become some kind of western nikawa or maybe a better term is "Toonami Babies", never watching or following other shows, only watching the dubbed anime on TV, becuase if it dubbed and on TV it must be good, and everything else must be "lolicon pandering weeabo anime", while claiming they are the "Real Anime Fans"
>>
I don't like episodic Animes that much. It's also why I really disliked Darker Than Black.
