WE KYOJIN NOW
>snk invented muscles
>popular shitty normalfag manga that everyone wants a piece of the cash its making
>giant man made out of muscles appearing from that angle
>not rip off
It looks pretty mechanical.
Titans and MMA sure are popular these days.
>SnK invented giant men
>what is mazinger
>what is tetsugin
>what is mecha
>what is cyclops, giants, titans
>what is greek mythology
Greek mythology ripped of SnK, you newfag
I dont fucking care if this manga is ripped off
guys guys... we are at chapter 4
After 2 chapters, we get Berserk back
Another whole chapter before hiatus again! Oh my God, can you belive it!
Maybe.. just maybe..
>greek mythology invented giant men
At least Miura can draw, unlike Isayama.
I am enjoying Gigantololipiss too much.
Isayama drew his first manga like 2 years ago.
Miura's been drawing Berserk over 20.
You mean after 2 chapters we get on the boat again
Miura's stuff looks amazing as always.
I'm hyped for Berserk now
One, not two. Only 4 are scanlated, 5 are out.
Miura was drawing like this when he was 19, which is ten times better than fucking anything in Snk
Isayama started SnK when he was 23, he has no fucking excuse
Nice black page.
Try getting a better monitor.
Try getting a better image.
Stop pretending to be retarded
Let's just hope that Hollywood doesn't copy it (they probably will though).
Try getting better eyes, or a better brain. That's probably impossible though, so you should probably just work on fixing your shit taste - that or kill yourself.
Ah! You got me!
Isayama drew his prototype to SnK when he was 19. The art was goddamn awful, but in 2-3 years he's gone from utter shit to getting decent. I'd say it's likely he started drawing late.
He's far from a high-tier manga artist yet, but he improves. It's unfair to compare him to a 20 year and highly-talented veteran, but that's no reason to shit on him.
That would be a decent point if that image wasn't also drawn at the age of 19, by Miura.
19 year old Miura had been drawing for 20 years? Impressive
Miura was drawing even before he was conceived. He's just THAT good.
Not at all, the point stands because I'm not saying Isayama is better than Miura.
But he'll die of old age before they get off the boat...
>3 solitary pages that will forever look incredibly superior to the entirety of SnK's manga
I'm trying to wait for all six chapters before I make any conclusions, but I'm not liking what I see so far.
It kind of feels like retro-shounen. Like Fist of the North Star.
>And then Piss Loli and Bara man was titans
>It kind of feels like retro-shounen. Like Fist of the North Star.
How is that a bad thing?
Bastard had Titans in it decades before SnK came into existence, newfags.
You SnKfags wished your monster designs were as good as the ones found in the Bastard manga.
As a fan of SnK.
>mfw saw this page yesterday in a one page thread
>Thought that I finally found art that was as good as Miura's
>It was actually Miura's art
I tried disconnecting those two thoughts. I'm not a fan of Fist of the North Star, but I didn't mean to imply that the similar feel was related to my reception of this series.
I haven't thought about why I'm not liking it fully yet, but here's a list of knee-jerk likes and dislikes:
- detailed art
- Delios and Prome
- Miura doing whatever it takes to make him happy and recharge his batteries for Berserk
- the bug people are kind of repulsive and unlikable, but I think we're supposed to care about them
- noticeable lack of gore from Miura, I can speculate on why he's tired of drawing it, but it contributes to an overall shounen feel
- explicit pedo fanservice
thats a bad feel
To be honest, that particular page reminds me more of Yukito Kishiro's art than Miura's.
The brown bug little girls are adorable you bitch I'll cut you.
If you say so.
At some point you will stop giving a shit about the art.
At that point I'll go read books instead.
That wasn't my point, but my original sentence was kinda flawed.
My point is manga is for enjoying both story and art, even if you can enjoy one without the other.
Funny how SnK is so much more incredibly popular yet the artwork is 100 times less impressive.
Makes you re-think how manga is an art form.
In my case, I think comparing art to the point of just seeking other titles that got a similar vibe of what you consider the best is silly; you will never find something like that, unless it's another manga by the same author.
Well, even the supposed "ugly" art of SnK has its own charm.
Miura isn't that good of an artist.
His perspective is amateurish, he uses excessive shading to cover up poor lineart and continually forgets what scale his characters are in.
IT LOOKS GOD DAMN PRETTY
Ironically, what people love more about his art is the shading plus the weird perspectives, kinda the same thing happens with Inoue and his "tracing".
Screening is for amateurs. Real artists turn an entire page black with nothing but a fine tip pen.
>Inoue and his "tracing".
Key differences there.
He's a legitimately one of the best artists in manga.
You're that same guy that always shows up sucking Samura's dick right? Well then, fuck off please
Let's not pretend that Miura is some beacon of originality either.
Samura is terrible.
He's one of the laziest artists ever.
These three 2 page spreads are just great. Some of the coolest looking stuff he has drawn since the Hawk of the Millennium Empire arc.
Now, I love The Evil Dead/Army of Darkness as much as the next guy, but a lot of this picture is pretty far fetched.
And a lot of it is fucking spot on.
Let's not pretend taking inspiration from Army of Darkness isn't great and needs to happen more often.
I'm talking specifically about Slam Dunk, his art is totally different in Vagabond, I simply never enjoyed it as much as I did with the former.
I'm not, it was just an example.
Even if it was, and it isn't, we shouldn't give a shit about derivative works. Evil Dead itself drew upon countless sources of inspiration.
I thought Slam Dunk got traced (by smoeone else), not that it itself was traced.
Too bad looks is not everything
I kinda think the same, As long as it's not at the same level of the Senran Kagura Oreimo art ripoff that got shut down from Kickstarter.
Some of the plays in the manga are based out of NBA matches, I don't consider that itself bad in any way, but a small group of elevens really do.
I agree, I didn't say it was ALL far fetched, but some of it definitely is. And as other people have said, I don't really mind. The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness were amazing and I am glad to see things take inspiration from them.
That would be applicable if SnK had anything to compensate for the sub-par art.
>Did this kind of stuff at 19, with the Berserk prototype a while later
>I'm 20 and can hardly draw a stick figure
What have I been doing with my life?
I don't think that's true, as I mentioned, Miura's giant reminds me a lot of Gunm Last order's artwork, for one.
>the bug people are kind of repulsive and unlikable, but I think we're supposed to care about them
>explicit pedo fanservice
what wrong with that you pedophobe
Most of those are grasping at straws to a ridiculous degree.
Look at SnK's prototype.
I am SURE you can draw at least more or less like that.
3 years later and the guy is rolling in dosh and popularity, and while his art still has a long way to go, he's gotten a lot better.
You can do it.
even kentaro miura knows amateurly drawn shingeki no kyojin flies off the shelves like hot cakes unlike his 20 year old work
>What are dynamic angles
>What are common scenes
>What are giants
