>all of those emo faggots after EVA
t-thank you for saving the anime industry
Wasn't Amuro the one that cried after he killed Lalah and was an emotional wreck for like seven years until the Gryps Conflict?
it's like you don't even watch mecha and just posting image made by another person who doesn't watch mecha
>Not Shinji where the world is actually worth fighting for
>Mecha, Sci-Fi, Action, Romance, Drama
All these are in my filter, any series is automatically dropped if any of these is present.
Also Eva by itself is nothing, it's the cancerous fanbase that pisses me off. Right now we are seeing the KlaK fanbase shit up /a/ in the same manner.
So you watch SoL? Wow sucks to be you that you can't enjoy things.
Funny cause two of the pictures on the left (Kouji and Ryouma) are both from shows that occured long after Eva (though I do realize their source material is much older)
>No action, romance, sci-fi, or drama
What DO you watch then?
I could understand Romance and Drama but the rest? You have some serious shit taste.
So you don't watch anything?
Season 3 when ;_;
SoL and Comedy mainly. I watch anime to escape from real life, not have it shoved in my face.
He probably watches comedies and SoL
I like watching series from all genres. I find myself disliking a genre, but I can still name good series from it
also domon always chasing lei's ass after the second half of the show
you're so full of shit
All mechas involve a faggot emo MC crying and bitching about his life. People die, shit happens, chaos, torment, suffering... NOPE
>Fucking Amuro to the left
Not to mention Kamille is missing completely
So genre discussion instead falling for the poor troll image then.
I like all genres really, except harem which I've grown tired of. Mecha, SoL/Iyashikei, Sci-Fi and Mahou Shoujo are my favourite.
I think watching mecha or adventure series is a bigger escape than another high school setting
That's only in "realistic" mecha.
Super Robo is all about hot-headed protags.
you already proofed you don't watch much anime, now you're proofing you don't watch many because of things you don't even know.
I haven't finished the first Gundam yet, but Amuro is just as pathetic as Shinji so far about 30 episodes in.
Blame Tomino. Thanks to him every single real robot show is loaded with anti war propaganda.
If you want an MC that has all of that, check out Uso Ewin from Victory Gundam.
>Getter Robo Armageddon
>All mechas involve a faggot emo MC crying and bitching about his life.
What is Code Geass?
You're so fragile, Anon.
it's very satisfying to remember angst teenage amuro when watching CCA
If you can't name a single series that you like from each genre present in anime/manga, then you're doing it all wrong.
I tend to avoid ecchi, but not too often fanservice in non ecchi series is nice.
I don't mind pacifists as long as they aren't Lynn Kaifun
The manga didn't have robots, it kinda proofs robots weren't needed
Escapism isn't healthy you know.
I don't think cashew counts as a mecha pilot.
I really don't want to blog about the reasons, so I will leave it at that.
Just because one version of it wasn't mecha, does that mean the whole thing isn't mecha?
And arguably, any mecha series could be done without mecha. It'd just be supersoldiers or some shite.
Well actually I guess I can say on here. Aspergers
I liked Kamille. There were times where he went full bonkers when he tackled Sarah and sucker punched her. Plus when he impaled Scirocco with his Waverider.
Wait till you get to Zeta Gundam if you're still watching 0079. Amuro is at his worst there because he's more reclusive and scared to go into space after killing an enemy Newtype he killed during the One Year War. Plus he had Federation agents spying on him because the Earth Federation's fear of Newtypes.
A lot of shitty replies in here.
I'm saying that I love you.
Not Toshi Gordian
>What's her name /v/?.jpg
What do you expect from /a/
I didn't say it wasn't mecha, it's just that they really weren't needed in the story. It's like they put them there to possibly boost sales and have something to animate to increase the overall quality.
>It'd just be supersoldiers or some shite.
I wouldn't mind more series with power armours.
nah, man normalfags are all over it, just like they were with SnK
I wish, then I could have an excuse for being a recluse.
congrats on being an edgy teen
what are you gay?
>I don't like real life so I'll watch anime based on the real life setting of high school!
why high school anime sucks
Do you have a shit job then? Or a medical condition? Trouble at home?
The only genre I tend to avoid is yaoi and shoujo romance
mostly because of the artwork and the cliches
which I probably would like more if it wasn't for the heterosexual thing
Sci-Fi is a subtle cover for all sorts of bullshit. The real sci-fi I like is more scientific. About planets, space exploration, standard model, and other stories based on theoretical physics.
Japan can't into sci-fi for shit.
>implying any of those things happen in your life
your life isn't that exciting /a/non
So you don't like Space Operas, and you never watched Sci-Fic anime. I get it.
Your typical sci-fi anime tends to do that though
How do you escape life by watching Slice of Life?
And how do you watch Slice of life without drama or romance?
>ever not gay
I developed a split personality as a child to escape the abuse and torment of my family.
Life? It's a really tasteless and bland reality from my perspective.
>Life? It's a really tasteless and bland reality from my perspective.
then why watch SoLs which imitate that?
Casshern Sins is set in a very depressing world
>Japan can't into sci-fi for shit.
which is arguably a good thing, since shows like macross, ideon, evangelion and so on that only use sci-fi very superficially tend to be more entertaining than "real" sci-fi
Evangelion didn't save shit. It's babys first "deep" anime despite being as shallow as a puddle so it gets an exaggerated amount of praise for that.
Anime is best when it's as far away from reality as possible
fantasy > sci-fi > high school
Because I like to laugh and feel lighthearted whenever I can. Comedy and SoL make me feel comfortable.
I understand comedy but SoLs are as boring and bland as IRL
real escapism is being a legendary hero exploring a fantasy land while fucking all the girls and monster girls therein
That's more wish fulfillment than escapism
>Anime is best when it's as far away from reality as possible
Dude, how good an anime is does not depend on it's location.
I mean, take SnK, thats pure fantasy, but I'd choose DRRR over it any day, witch is a cross between the two.
same damn thing
surely there are stand-outs but on average that is the case
besides DRRR is not that very close to reality anyhow
Nah, in wish fulfillment you are self inserting, if the guy watches SoL for relaxation it's a different thing.
They are both escapism
WF is a better form of it because it actually makes sense.
Someone didn't watch Planetes, Rocket Girls or Moonlight Mile
shush, this isn't a recommendation thread
To be fair, /a/non, it's probably better to read Planetes than watch it.
I already watched Planetes would it be worth it to go back and read the manga?
''Fuck, I hate all anime''
-Anonymous 101397519, 2014
>The manga didn't have robots, it kinda proofs robots weren't needed
Manga isn't the original version and it's actually worse off for lacking the robots. Your argument is backwards.
That's another questionable argument since like the other guy said most robot shows don't strictly NEED robots either. You can do Gundam with tanks or planes, even more so with Macross and Votoms, etc. Patlabor as well. The Super Robot stuff could be done as Toku or Sentai, etc.
the robots didn't make the anime better
>''Fuck, I hate all anime''
I'd imagine this to be the inevitable final stage for all /a/nons.
Whatever the adaptation, the answer is (Ghost in the Shell aside) always "Of course."
The manga doesn't have the anime original characters like the Moon Narutards, or the anime original ending.
No, but it made it cooler.
/a/ hates anime, fag
But that's what I more or less implied.
Why is Asuka such a bitch?
That's what crossboarders believe after they saw a thread on /a/ that was shitting on their favorite anime
Does it still end at the same point in the story but differently or does it go further than the anime?
Yes -- the manga covers the Jupiter expedition and Ai still being a space garbage collector while she waits for his return.
Hey OP, Kouji Kabuto the king of badassery and manlyness is a relatevily modern interpretation born from nostalgia. If we go to the original source, the Nagai manga, Kouji was a moeblob and he cried very often but not manly tears but actual tears for fear and despair
Also, Kouji dated this guy on Grendizer
Anime follows the same rules as Shin Megami Tensei, for it to be the best it can be they have to stay as far away from a high school as possible. Space and Antarctica are good choices...
>tfw no anime about expeditions to antarctica
Because her mother killed herself in front of her, she then developed self-esteem issues to high heaven, based her entire self worth off of a single skill, then got surpassed by a kid who shies away from her bullying.
